It was funny how a year abroad could make the familiar seem so... not. He knew his way through the streets and the alleys and the way to the park and school and all of that just as well as he ever did. But some of the shop fronts had changed. A few had even become abandoned, probably written off as a loss after a youma had its way with it, or a battle too fierce had ravaged it. It felt more like a surreal dream than anything, even if he knew he was here and this was all as real as it ever was.
A few bruises later, Mont Blonc's attempts to jump in and help out when the SOS had gone out had done more to make him feel isolated than like he'd come back to some greater cause. Not comfortably isolated, peace and quiet, just... kind of lonely. Patrolling felt about the same way, especially since he honestly hadn't done it much before. So when he felt a 'good' feeling energy signature... even he was tempted to approach. But ultimately his own nerves won out, and even if he drifted closer, he still couldn't bring himself to flat-out approach whoever it was.
Syrie Sorry he's a bit awkward biggrin

Aegir wasn't really meant to be a solitary operator, but he often found himself wandering around youma-hunting all on his lonesome. Sure, he could cruise with Thraen (and did) but the Eternal of Gardens wasn't always available. Plus, it was harder to indulge his destructive tendencies when the other senshi was around, and he really did want to indulge. Which was why he was crouched on a rooftop, peering down at the locator app on his phone to see if any Chaos agents were lurking about when he felt what seemed like some sort of Order energy signature - and saw it flash up on the screen. "Huh...well...good luck." Aegir wasn't interested and put his phone away in favor of brooding...until he realized that energy signature was coming his way. When it stopped short his curiousity was piqued. One did not brush by Sailor Aegir without saying hello, dammit! Especially not an unfamiliar signature! So instead of waiting to see if the mystery agent would come closer, he took it upon himself to go to him, dropping down into the shadows near Mont Blonc and announcing himself. "Hiiiii, I think you were looking for me?" The hell was this guy supposed to be? No, really - he'd never seen anyone in a costume like that before...at least, not someone that wasn't working for the wrong team. It set him back a bit, but faint hearts ne'er won fair ladies and all that jazz. "I'm Aegir, who're you. Actually... what are you?" And just like that, the curly-haired senshi of silence was pushing into Mr. Awkward's personal space, expression curious and expectant. frayedflower He's fiiiine. I hope he likes his personal space invaded!

Even if some part of Mont Blonc had wanted to meet the power source, it didn't make him any less surprised when he all of a sudden announced himself from the shadows. The page wished he could pretend that he didn't squeak, flinching even if he knew the only energy signature nearby was a friendly one. He clutched his pen out of reflex, which as it turned out wasn't as useless as he'd originally thought it would be.
At least when it came to gross spider youma men, which this man wasn't. A senshi, by the looks of him. "I, uh... " Say hi, he coaxed himself, shutting his eyes as he tried to will the words to come. But his tongue was tangling and twisting in the worst way no matter how hard he tried.
Then he felt a puff of hot air as the senshi spoke and realized, snapping his eyes open, that he was a lot closer than he'd been a minute ago. Mont Blonc took a step back out a reflex, fiddling with the pen again as he struggled to undo the knot and - he couldn't just stand there not saying anything! "I, uh... uh... h-hello, " finally. One step was better than none.
He took a deep breath, and tried to remember the things his ex used to tell him. Which ultimately made him sad more than it helped, but - "I-I'm Mont Blonc. Page of Saturn, " there. Better. "Nice to meet you, Aegir, " he'd pushed himself this far, so there was no excuse for being rude.
Syrie He'll learn to love it! biggrin Someday?

Watching the guy's reaction was curious and Aegir wondered if there was an actual reason for it (like say, he'd been beaten up or worse) or if it was some sort of mental thing (which honestly was an "actual reason" but that sort of thing was often harder to deal with). Maybe he was just easily frightened? If so...he was really in the wrong business, poor guy. Quickly it became apparent that the nervousness really was just part of the guy's nature; he got flustered and seemed to stumble over even the most banal of civilities. The blond felt bad and tried to make himself seem even less potentially threatening, putting both of his gloved hands out in that universal gesture for peace. "Nice to meet you too, Mont Blonc." A page? Oh, right. He'd read something about that, hadn't he? Or maybe just heard about it in passing - them. Not it. "I've never met a page of anything before, let alone one for Saturn." Which was kind of funny, now that he thought about it...Aegir was a moon of Saturn, which kind of meant they were brothers in arms, right? "I'm the senshi of silence...actually, it's kind of funny, my home's one of Saturn's moons." There, he was talking because it seemed that Mont Blonc wasn't good with talking...though maybe he'd warm up after a bit? Thraen had warmed up, so anything was possible! frayedflower I had totally forgotten about that, but lol - Saturn bros!

Great first impression with an actual person on patrol, huh? Aegir was doing the hand holding up thing, and - damn - "Je suis un idiot, " he mumbled under his breath, and of course he managed to say that out loud he noted with a slight wince. This was the whole reason he'd come back, to meet people and do the whole war thing. Now he was stumbling over his words again and that was just making it worse and -
Saturn. He was talking about it. Mont Blonc exhaled slowly and tried to pull it together, again. "I haven't really met any Saturn pages either, " he admitted, neglecting to add that he hadn't really met much of anyone.
Then Aegir went ahead and said that, and an excited glint shone in the page's eyes. He stood a little taller than he had before, and the action of straightening was - well, he was the type of person where you didn't realize how much he was slouching over until he took the time to sit up and embrace his surprisingly impressive height. "Really?" From there, words came a bit easier, more freely: "I've never been to my Wonder... not yet, anyway. The time was never really right. Can you see Saturn from your planet? - probably not, right?"

French. That was French, wasn't it? Colin vaguely remembered from the mandatory classes he'd taken while at Hillworth, but Mont Blonc had spoken under his breath and so he'd missed part of it. I am ....what? He seems really awkward, so maybe he was being down on himself. "Pretty sure you're not, but hey, don't worry about it." Seriously, this guy had a harder time being social than he had with keeping his hands to himself! Poor guy. "Mmhmm. Really." Mont Blonc was suddenly more animated, his expression interested and intent and wait a friggin' minute! - the guy was tall! When the hell had that happened?! Aegir stared up at the page, shaking his head a little, "How did you do that?" With his hands he made a gesture like "you went from being near my height to all the ******** up there!" while moving closer as though to figure out just how the guy had managed such a neat trick. "Seriously though, you weren't this tall a second ago." He almost missed the rest of what his companion said, brain taking a minute to process and work it out through his surprise. "Oh uh. I don't know. I haven't gone...didn't want to go alone, just in case it was awful." Could he see Saturn from his home world? Good question. He'd have to pester Thraen, see if the eternal wanted to go with him - no one else he trusted enough, really."What's a wonder? Is it like our magic?" Two Saturn dorks, blathering excitedly at each other with topics that jumped here and there, back and forth, as quickly as mind and mouth could correlate. One could only hope the two hopeless puppies would come to no harm until they calmed down. frayedflower Yeah, just wait until he pulls Klingon on ya >_>;;

Oh god, had the senshi heard him? Mont Blonc winced visibly and turned an interesting shade of embarrassed red. Thankfully, the topic got derailed... or maybe not, as the height thing came up. Subconsciously, he shrank down again, hunching over in such a way that was much more noticeable the second time around. "I, uh... what do you mean?" Because of course he didn't actively realize he was doing it. Although now he was self-conscious of it.
Luckily, they got derailed again, and he was much more relaxed as he went on to talk about this stuff instead of himself and how much of an idiot he was. "Oh, well that makes sense - " He'd never given much of a thought of planets being terrible, but considering everything, it probably wasn't such a surprise to find a terrible planet, was it? "Well, when you do go, if it's not so bad - let me know, if you want to."
As for Wonders, "I don't know as much as other pages, " and he freely admitted this. "I was never that active - my family moved to France after my grandfather died about a year ago, so I didn't have a chance or a choice. But a Wonder is like - it's a piece of a planet. Like, you have Aegir the planet. Far as I gathered, somewhere on Saturn, there's a Mont Blonc. I'm fairly sure it's a mountain." Seemed like an educated guess, right? He cracked a slight smile, like he was trying for playful.
"I know we send letters with these rings, too, " and he held up his hand so Aegir could see if he wanted to, "But mine popped up with some kind of upgrade I can't make heads or tails of. A lot of the finer points of knighthood are kind of lost on me still; I've been back in town for a couple of weeks, but it's been sort of hard... finding people." For obvious reasons.

He was particularly good at shifting topics when those around him seemed to need it - or maybe it was just that Aegir had good timing with being excitable about other topics as they came up? He was also particularly good at making Mont Blonc uncomfortable, it seemed. "Aw, c'mon, you don't have to slouch like that! Stand tall, you look good when you do." Unintentional flirting get! "Sure, I'd be happy to tell you about it - maybe I could take you there if it's safe. Hm, Actually...I don't know if I'd be able to take someone that isn't a senshi...." Good question - definitely one for Thraen, later! Aegir smiled at his companion brightly as he got basically the same sort of quick-and-dirty baby-stage information about knights. "I'm kind of behind on all this stuff too...I was in London instead of France though." And not for any family members, but maybe he shouldn't blather on about the whole dance thing - how many Destiny City dancers and danseurs had attended RAD? As nice as Mont Blonc seemed, Aegir was trying to be slightly less trusting with his personal (read: identifying) information these days. "That's...actually pretty cool. Wonders sound useful. Can you drop your mountain on the enemy, 'cause I can think of a few people who'd deserve that." More useful than his senshi magic...not that it took much. The signet ring was even more interesting to the curly-haired blond and he only just stopped himself from reaching out to grab the page's hand so he could inspect it more closely. "Mm...I wonder if one of the guardian cats would be able to help you figure it out...they're pretty good with that sort of thing for senshi." But which one? Faust? Possibly. Pray? Lord no. What about that other cat Thraen had mentioned...Ash? Aegir rocked back on his heels momentarily and stretched his arms over his head, "Well...I don't think I can help with the Page stuff, other than trying to get you in touch with a cat...but I'm more than happy to help any other way I can." It helped that the guy was cute when he was smiling and not being horribly uncomfortable with himself - and that the senshi of silence was an inveterate flirt as well as being one of those helpful sorts.

The praise made the page flush, although he wasn't really sure if it was because of the praise or because he was still sheepish. Really though, it was one of those ripple effect kind of blushes because when he realized his face was getting how, then it toed over the line of embarrassment because he knew he was pale as hell, and it was kind of a downhill thing. He coughed lightly into his hand to try and mask it, and sort of shook his hair into his face.
But planet talk had him plenty perky; the irony wasn't lost to him that he could handle this talk better than receiving a compliment from any kind of attractive being. "Well, if it's safe and I'm able, I'd love to see it. If I can return the favor, too, I'd be happy to. Doubly on the safe part, maybe." Because Saturn sure as hell didn't look all that inviting from space photos, but who knew? There was magic involved here, seemed like almost anything could be possible. He'd scared a spiderman away with a pen.
To hear someone else had been away... well, he'd be lying if he said it didn't make him feel a little lot better about dragging his feet in France like he had. "London; that must have been amazing. I wouldn't mind visiting there some time, " he mused out loud with a wistful grin. Although he was pretty much limited to Destiny City for the unforeseeable future. Mont Blonc idly wondered whether Aegir had been inspired by a long stream of nightmares too - but he was wise enough not to ask.
When Aegir mentioned mountain dropping though, Mont Blonc couldn't help laughing hard. "If I could do that, I'd probably be a hell of a lot more useful. All I've got to my name now is a pen." He summoned his 'weapon' and held it up with a lopsided, sheepish smile and a shrug of his shoulders. "It's really about as useful as you'd think. At least I can always take down the Negaverse's license plate number."
Mont Blonc had never really had much to do with the guardian cats, only in passing - although it seemed like a good time to mention, "Oh, uh, for my thing, pages and all, there is one more thing - we sort of awaken by ourselves. No cat involved." That much he knew. A bit of a pity really, since he probably would have enjoyed hanging around the cats more than some of the other things he'd been thrown into back then. "So if you know any, if you wouldn't mind introducing us, I'd be really grateful."

"Absolutely!." Aegir was big on sharing information and a trip to planet Aegir definitely fell under the banner of things he'd be happy to bring others into - supposing it was safe. He wouldn't bring anyone nice into a dangerous situation if he could help it (now that Negaverse Captain, Moonstone? She could totally be dropped down the deepest, darkest hole possible and he would break out the damned confetti). "Yeah, Saturn's kind of...scary looking in the photos NASA shows us. Beautiful though." On the subject of London, the blond could talk at length. "It was. Absolutely fantastic. I met some really interesting people there, though I was mostly too busy to do a lot of sight-seeing." Which had been unfortunate...and then again not, because in the end it was his time in Battlesea that had gotten him his job offers on his return to Destiny City, and those were pretty amazing. As long as he could go on about London, Aegir decided that there were other, more important things to discuss and he managed to keep his commentary short. Mont Blonc's pen - and sheepish delivery of it's 'values' - made the senshi of silence chuckle and shake his head. "Better than nothing, right? I mean, they say the pen is mightier than the sword, don't they? And maybe it'll...transform into something better? Our uniforms upgrade and change, magic and pens too - oh, yeah, senshi have pens too. We use them to transform, it's pretty weird. And glowy." Wasn't he just a fount of information! "The cats give us our pens and communicators, teach us how to transform and use our magic...usually. Wow, you guys just...find yourselves? How does that even happen?" Aegir took a moment to ponder this, but then smiled and put a hand to one hip and nodded at introducing Mont Blonc to a cat or three. "I know a couple and one of the guys I work with often knows more. I don't know which would be better to try and get you to meet first, Faust or Ash...one is into technology, the other into kicking a**."

Mont Blonc nodded along solemnly when Aegir mentioned the creepy factor of Saturn, although deep down he almost wondered if he should be protective of the planet he was connected to or something - how could he though? He'd never been there himself, and the pictures were pretty intimidating, as pretty as it was in a weirdly dark way. "I guess I'll see when I figure out how to go - I mean, for all I know, the real Mont Blonc could be a field of flowers, right?"
Wishful thinking.
He didn't press on why the senshi wasn't going around sight-seeing in London, but Mont Blonc did smile. "Well, I've always wanted to see London. I didn't get a chance to before - if you wind up back there again, maybe you can give me the grand tour or we can go be lame tourists or something." Did that sound weird? It probably sounded weird, but Mont Blonc figured Aegir had to know that was a 'hey let's not just be two boats passing in the wind' kind of thing, so he didn't mull too much on it.
"Mightier than the sword - it was mightier than a weird youma spider man thing, so I guess that's something, " he joked, waving it around a little like the menacing weapon of destruction it was (not). The page went on to be enraptured by what Aegir was saying, nodding along; some of these things he kind of knew in a detached way, like the whole senshi upgrading thing, but he hadn't known how much cats were involved and everything that went into being a senshi and all that. "That's funny - I sort of transform with the pen too, but I think that's because my weapon is a pen, " he explained, crossing his arms as he thought back on it. "I think other knights use different things. But I haven't really talked to any at length." That lonely little itch in his stomach crept in for a moment, but he shook it off, gliding a hand over his exposed midsection for good measure. He was talking to someone now, right?
How it happened, though, "Well, a youma was attacking someone, so I sort of yelled at it, " looking back, he was both proud and not of that moment. Proud because it was the right thing to do, not so much because he hadn't really had any kind of plan and he probably could have died if the whole page thing hadn't happened. "So it tackled me and it was about to - you know - then all of a sudden the pen appeared in front of me, and there you go." He shrugged his shoulders, then rolled them with a low crack. The perks of horrible posture! "A few things happened since then, but it was when all this crazy stuff was happening, and then I moved."
He cracked a smile, almost helplessly, and laughed softly. "So basically, some quality time with a cat or another knight would probably do me some good. I really have no idea what I'm doing."
Someone was also creeping up on them to watch from a distance - but she didn't really feel like making herself known just yet. Besides, she'd heard that name again, Ash. Hadn't that other senshi said it too?

He might have been able to discuss the lonesome, beautiful, icy planet as having a rather creepy aura to it, but he actually did feel a bit protective of it. As his home-world circled with numerous other moons of Saturn, Aegir felt that while it was okay for the denizens of said planets/moons to discuss such things, but if someone else wanted to talk 'smack' he'd rise to defend. "Probably not a field of flowers, but it really could be anything. If it is flowers, will you bring one back for me? I'd love to see what sort of things grow there..." As for traversing London together, Aegir didn't seem bothered by the thought of doing so. In fact he nodded eagerly and grinned, "Sure, that'd be great! It's a lot more fun to sight-see with another person there. Also easier to get photographs!" Okay, so the senshi of silence was a little bit of a shutterbug in his civilian life. Fine, fine...it was actually more like a large bit of a shutterbug. The boy loved his camera. Normally. Right now it was kind of gathering dust in it's case on his dresser. Mont Blonc's mention of a spiderine youma made him twitch; spiders were no favorites of his though he didn't react the way his mother and sister did: with screaming, screeching and cries of "kill it, kiiiiill iittt!" He'd always found it quite interesting that the Knight faction used their items to transform and fight. Sure, the information had been in the Senshi Primer he'd read through, but having it confirmed by an actual member of that faction turned book-knowledge into life-experience. "Yeah, I think you guys use items based on your uh...Wonder, I guess? We have a sort of knowledge database with basic information on the senshi side and I seem to remember that being something written down." "Damn. That's...harsh. But good for you not standing down from those creepy monsters! That takes guts." Aegir didn't bother mentioning that it had also been one hell of a bad idea because Mont Blonc could have died...because the guy probably already knew it, he'd survived...and because his eyes had dropped to follow the motion of the page's hand across his stomach automatically. "I think you'd like Ash, she's a beautiful silver-grey cat. A real lady, very tech-savvy. I'm pretty sure she'd be happy to meet with you, especially if you bring her something sweet to eat." Aw, come on - surely he had some small idea? Maybe? But thinking back to when he'd first been awakened as a senshi, Aegir pursed his lips a little and stretched his arms above his head (prompted subconsciously by Mont Blonc's spine cracking). "Y'know, when I was first awakened I had no clue either, it was a lot of guess-work. There's a learning curve, but don't worry. If I can get it together, I bet you can - and like I said, I'll help you, if you want." No, he didn't look like much (though in the years since he'd gone all magical boy he'd filled out and gained a great deal of muscle and definition - especially in his legs and backside) but Aegir knew how to fight dirty. And how to fight without using magic, since his wasn't really useful for attacks. Since they were excited and talking, he almost missed the flash of a power signature - a very distinct one - that he hadn't had much experience with. Corrupted senshi!! Christ, he was stupid - how long had they been standing there talking, bright beacons sure to catch the attention of any randomly passing youma or chaos agent? 'Dammit. Maybe this one will want to talk, like Kerberos? Please don't be like Chariklo...'Aegir's voice pitched low, "Mont Blonc...I don't know if you've felt it, but we've got company. Corrupt senshi Could be interested in talking instead of fighting." He didn't know if the source of the energy signature meant to come closer to talk or fight or a combination of both. Even with a page who openly admitted to not knowing much of what he was doing, Aegir couldn't change his nature. He pretty much had to call out to the turkey lurkey...he was just trying to be nice and warn his new friend before hand. frayedflower I am totally cool with having Amphi drop in for chats or spats!

The page couldn't help but crack a half-smile at the request, and he chuckled, pushing his hair out of his eyes only to have it fall right back again. "If they've got enough, I promise, I'll bring you back a bouquet." He found himself wondering, not for the first time, what his wonder might actually entail. The only thing he could logically picture was the mountain thing, but... really, who was to say it wouldn't be nice? Was it impossible?
"Oh god, pictures - " And he laughed again, still softly, as he shook his head. "I'm that guy that always manages to blink; you can try, but wait and see, you'll never catch me with my eyes open. It's a curse. I'm about as photogenic as a - no, I'm less photogenic than a rock."
It sounded nice, even if he didn't say it. But that figured. He'd been drawn back here and he was already dreaming about escaping somewhere else. Still, better than the dreams he'd been having. Mont Blonc had sort of hoped they'd stop when he came back to Destiny City, but -
"There's a database?" There was no telling if the page was awed or completely crestfallen at the prospect that there had been a database floating around this whole time, inaccessible. "Does it say anything else? I - okay, wait, wait, so my wonder might be a mountain and probably involves pens?" If anything, that just made things more confusing.
Guts... Mont Blonc looked down with a sort of almost-smile, because he wasn't sure he could really say he had 'guts'. "I just try and do the right thing, that's all, " and in the future dream, it had led to death and insanity. He didn't really want to linger on that; besides, now that he was finally making something that might be a powered friend, he wasn't about to bungle it by going on about some weird recurring dream.
"I'd bring her a whole cake for her trouble, " because damn this Ash sounded promising. Plus, maybe she could tell him about the whole weird blueprint thing on his phone! He blinked when Aegir stretched, and didn't really realize he was watching until after the fact. Then he glanced away, glanced back, shifted, and almost deliberately his hair fell into his face again. "I'd really appreciate that. I know how this probably sounds, but it's been kind of - lonely, I guess." He thought back to that knight, Camelot's, big summon for help. Even if he'd won his fight, he remembered sitting there afterwards, surrounded yet alone. It was a hard feeling to shake.
When Aegir mentioned company, he realized the senshi was right - there was definitely someone else there, and close. He tensed, clutching the pen a little tighter for all the good it did. "Is it bad to hope for talking?" he hissed, edging closer just on the off chance they wanted the other thing. At least he wasn't alone.
Most of what they'd been saying had been relatively interesting, with some fluff mixed in. The part about Ash in particular. It was like a word forgotten, lingering on the tip of her tongue. Some of the images, the dreams she could remember; hadn't there been a silver cat there, too? Amphitrite didn't know how she was supposed to feel about it - did she care?
There were two, not one... and the conversation had ceased abruptly, which left her exactly three choices: fight, flight, or play the game like she had with the senshi of war. Maybe it was worth trying her luck? Wouldn't Laurelite and the others be pleased if she managed to take some senshi and a lowly page down?
On a whim, trying her luck, she grabbed a piece of loose concrete from the roof and flung it as hard as she could down towards an alleyway. Just to see what they did.

He was a dork, he was not ashamed - not even when the corner of Mont Blonc's mouth was curving up with amusement restrained. Civilian or Senshi, he would have made the request: an alien flower? Oh hell yes, that was so close to the whole "exploring new worlds" tenet from his beloved Star Trek! "I'd like that. Be cool to have live Saturnian plants but I doubt they'd do well on earth..." Yes, he was contemplating things like that, he was a nerd. Naturally Aegir took his reluctance with photography as a personal challenge. "You'd be surprised what I can do with a camera, okay. It's a...hobby of mine." He had the urge to sling his arm across the page's shoulders, maybe noogie him. And he likely wouldn't have lasted three seconds before doing it save that the dark haired fellow with the bared tummy was quite a bit taller than he was and it would have been horribly awkward trying. "You'll be the prettiest rock in London, I swear it." He was a cheeky little punk, making assumptions and plans with someone he only knew from some minutes previous but clearly was willing to consider a friend. A friend to globe trot, even. "Well, yeah." Really now, it hadn't crossed his mind that the information in the Primer was only for Senshi, that all that amazingly useful information (what there was of it) wasn't available to other Order-related powered people. "It doesn't have a whole lot about the Knights though. Mostly it's senshi business. Dunno how helpful it'd be to you, but I um, I could always pull it for you and print or email it?" Probably. He'd figure it out. Probably Mont Blonc could have gotten a lot more help from some of the other, more established Knights, not that he knew any to refer him to. Aegir's lips quirked at the mention of cake. Ash would love that, you will be come one of her people and that'll be that. He felt the eyes on him but figured he'd just called the attention to himself with the stretch, happened all the time; instead he focused on the things his companion said. he was lonely. "You don't have to be alone, we'll get that sorted. And no, it's actually not bad to hope...I sure as hell do." But his muscles were tensed as he heard the sound of some blunt object whooshing through the air at high speed; it took him the span of two heartbeats to shift forward quickly so he was between the missile and Mont Blonc. Silence could be sword or it could be shield, in the right hands, but the curly haired blond wielded his sphere like a blunt object. Without tact or class or care that he might get hosed. The concrete ended up shattering in the alleyway some small distance from the Saturn!bros, but small chips of shrapnel blew back and peppered his bare legs. "Gonna have to try better than that if you wanna hit me." He called out, "Or you could come down and talk reasonable-like?" He edged silently (ha!) further towards where he thought the chunk had been hurled from. Fearless? No, more like he just didn't care if he got hurt; there was a glint to his eyes and a feral twist to his mouth as he waited to see what would happen next. I could jump it...wouldn't be hard, but he probably couldn't... Glancing back at the page, he could only wonder at how they were all thrown into this world without instruction, left fighting for their lives with very little clue(s) as to how they'd manage it. Swim or drown, as usual.frayedflower Near miss! Also, enjoy tiny lion playing protector to Tall-and-Handsome!

All these simple things (that came easier and easier in a short span of time) - jokes, smiles - those kinds of casual interactions between friends that were easy to take for granted. Mont Blonc, or even Lorne, hadn't really ever had enough friends to be able to afford to take those things for granted. Maybe that was part of the reason his real friendships weren't so long term. Whatever it was, he wasn't here to sit around and mull it over; instead, he just enjoyed those simple things he'd been going without since he'd left his family in France.
Maybe that's why, when it came to email or print, the page wasn't too embarassed to say, "I don't know if we should put out a trail people can follow, though... I mean, if the negaverse ever saw that stuff... maybe it'd be better just to meet up again sometime and go over it, if you'd have time." A small, hopeful smile that did nothing to obscure what he was really trying to say: 'Come see me again. Please.'
Then, everything sort of began to happen in a whirlwind. Something was flung, and just as quickly, Aegir reacted, putting himself in what might have been harm's way for his sake. Even in the projectile sort of broke apart and into pieces, as the senshi's actions sank in, Mont Blonc realized something: as he watched Aegir, he was a lot more prepared for this life than Mont Blonc had ever been, no matter how hard he'd tried to strengthen his resolve when he came here in the first place.
Seeing him now, Mont Blonc wasn't sure whether he was more moved, ashamed that he came across as someone who needed protecting, or awed. Maybe a little of everything. The page had to try harder; he was there, but not there enough. His fingers tightened around his pen as he followed Aegir's gaze, adreneline rushing his system.
More importantly, though... he really had made one hell of a friend tonight, hadn't he?
Laughter wafted down from above, almost musical in nature. So the senshi had been smart enough to follow the concrete back to the source - it had been worth a shot, anyway. "Talk?" Her voice echoed in the enclosed space of the alley, making her sound larger than she was. She had to appreciate the effect it had. "What on earth could we possibly have to talk about?"
In spite of her words, Amphitrite jumped down to face them head on. Mont Blonc tried not to look surprised, but he couldn't help it; this girl looked young. She couldn't have been out of high school, could she? - granted, he hadn't been out of high school either when he'd awoken, so who was he talk? "Let me guess, " she held up an index finger, and her smirk was scathing. Her glare seemed to be more so directed at Aegir than the page beside him. "What's your name? Why are you here? Come on home with us, lost girl. - is that the kind of talk you were hoping to have, senshi?"
