 A relationship! She had a boyfriend! Flutterby squealed to herself. And no one knew about him either! Sure, her parents might have had an idea something was up, but they didn't have a clue as to what! The young adult couldn't quite contain the amount of glee the idea brought her.
She'd been spending the last week, after arriving back home of course, day dreaming over what happened and what might happen the next time they met up. So much so, she'd nearly forgotten what day it was! Flutter squeaked, rushing into any room that might have something shiny to check her hair in. There wasn't much else she could do to make sure she was pretty for Hemi, there was at least a two day walk ahead of her, even with meeting him in the middle. Seeing nothing wrong with it, she hurried to the kitchen to pack a few things for the days to come. Waters knew she wouldn't get far if she didn't have something to eat while she traveled.
Satisfied that she wasn't going to kill herself while she went to go meet with her, squeel, boyfriend, Flutter waved to her parents and walked out the front door, off to walk for a couple of days and meet up with Hemi again.

 What a beautiful day. A perfect day in fact, to go to the beach. After restocking his Andrographis', he decided a little 'him' time was in order. And after packing himself meals to go and a shovel to make a sandcastle, was off to the glistening waters of the nearby lake. Of course it took him a day to get there, but it was worth it. Especially when his feet touched that soft sand. "Yes! Finally." He lifted a hand to shield his eyes from the sun, and surveyed the area. Beautiful. Absolutely-well hello there. His eyebrows twitched up as a rather...purple female was walking his way!
"Howdy miss." He cheerfully called out, beaming still with excitement about his day in the sun.

Flutterby jumped, almost dropping the basket she'd been carrying with her. Oh Waters this was not the time or place for her to get so spooked! She was going to see Hemi in just a few days! If her parents caught her like this just on the other side of the beach surely they'd make her stay home!
The femme panicked a little, looking around to make sure there were no other pae he could have possibly been talking to, as well as either one of her parents. Nope, it was just the two of them. Ruby eyes blinked, pointing at herself finally. Was he really talking to her? He must have been. Either that or this very handsome pae was crazy. Wait.. Handsome? No no no, she had a boyfriend. Other pae weren't supposed to be pretty were they? Waters help her, this was crazy madness!
"H-h-h-hi" She squeaked, voice barely audible. The young adult hesitantly waved, looking at him, still in complete shock he'd managed to catch her so very off guard.

He grinned ear to ear at the girl, happy she noticed him. "Did I startle you? A thousand pardons." He tilted his head a bit to her in greeting, before his silver eyes caught sight of her own basket.
Flynn lifted his own pack up with a laugh. "I think we have the same idea! Enjoy the sunlight!"

Flutter managed to blush. How was he so polite when she was standing there so flustered? Where guys just programmed to be polite or something? Clearly she needed to learn something! And then he completely got the wrong idea about why she had the basket! But maybe he was right about the sun. She was leaving a day early... Was there really any reason why she shouldn't enjoy the sun today? That was kind of why she'd left early. Between that and the excitement of seeing Hemi again...
"Ye-y-ye-yeah." She managed to squeak, smiling hesitantly. While their packs surely had vastly different contents, she was sure both held enough to enjoy the weather being as nice as it was.

"No need to be startled by me, I don't bite." He spoke in his warm almost southern drawl. He moved a little closer to extend a hand out to her. "Just a regular goofy guy. Name's Flynn." He glanced out to the beach, then to their two packs. "If I ain't too forward, did you want to sit a spell with me?"

Flutter squeaked again, really just hesitant to speak. She just hated stuttering in front of strangers. Hemi had been bad enough when they'd first met, this guy was going to be even worse!
"N-n-n-ni-nice t-to me-me-meet y-you." She smiled, taking his hand. "I'm Fl-F-FLutterby." Oh waters she was blushing so hard. He was so nice and here she was acting like she'd never seen someone new before. The femme did nod to his question though. If he hadn't figured out the stutter wasn't nerves by now, he'd surely get it soon. Still easier to stay quiet though... There was really no harm in sitting with him. Was there?

He blinked when she continued to stutter, before realization dawned on him. The fae nodded understandably, though it was moreso for himself. "Always nice to meet a pretty girl. I was going to sit here by myself, but your company is much more appealing!" He chuckled before moving more towards the water to sit. "It's been so cold out of late, I wanted to take advantage of the warm days that cropped up. An' really, is there anythin better than the sound of waves and soft sand?"

Flutter, if even possible, blushed again. What was it with guys thinking she was pretty? She just had a weird tail and a bunch of fins. What was pretty about that? Must have been something since Flynn thought she looked good too...
She nodded enthusiastically at Flynn's question. It was one of the many things she loved about where she lived. Which made her look over her shoulder, double check to see that none had followed her. With a quick affirmative, she followed him towards the waterline and paused a moment. She had a blanket on her, but there was also the sand... She liked the feeling of it against her fins.. And that settled it, with a grin, and hardly any other thoughts, she dug her hooves into the sand and had herself a seat. "<3"

He watched her as she followed him down, then promptly stuck her feet under the sand. Flynn started laughing a moment before doing the same. "Fine idea!" He exclaimed, still chuckling. "Thanks for humoring me darlin. Mighty nice of you."

Flutter grinned, digging her hands into the sand next. Waters and Laishidiel that felt lovely. And then Flynn was right next to her doing the same with his feet. She squeaked, ruby eyes blinking as she looked over to where he was sitting. The shock at him repeating her actions quickly turned into a smile.
"Wh-wh-w-what B-b-b-better way to s-s-spend th-the day?" She asked, still smiling. Excited to see Hemi or not, this was feeling like a better and better idea already!

"I can't think of anything better!" He picked up a handful of sand to let it slowly shift out between his fingers. "It's amazin to think about how alllll this sand used to be from much bigger rocks. Hard rocks, but the sand is soft. And the whole beach and under the water is full of it!."

She giggled, wiggling her fingers between the soft dry sand. And then, with a sly grin, she looked over at him and back off to the water. Her tail on the other hand, was busily scooping up as much sand as she could get to toss at him in one halfway powerful flick.
Swimming muscles were good for something too!

So intent on his fascination of sand, he didn't even notice her moving. Didn't notice her tail slipping into the sandl. And certainly didn't notice her throw it until a wave came raining down on him. "HEY!" He yelped with a jump, before starting to laugh. "Oh? OH?! You want to play like that?" He grabbed his own handful of sand to lob it at her.

Flutter laughed, getting hit full on in the shoulder. She moved to put her hands up in defense of the flying sand, but to no avail. With a squeal, she flicked more sand at him with her tail. Oh it was on now!
"Oh you're so going down!" The femme taunted, getting up to back towards the water. The sand was wet there, it would be easier to toss at him.
