This booth's game is a Scavenger Hunt! For every day this week, Etsali and Zindel will have a new list of interesting and exciting things for you to find and bring back to them! Because this is a test of your scavenging skills, they have decided not to give any hints on exact locations, but they're just sure you can do it. You can, can't you? Also, sometimes there will be people trying to keep you from retrieving your items. They might throw around words like 'thief' or, I don't know, 'stop right there, you fiend', but this is all part of the game and shouldn't be taken seriously at all. Just make sure you lose them in the crowds on your way back, alright?

So here's how this will work in practice:

▶ First, roll 3d6 to determine how successful you are at retrieving the three items of the day.

▶ Next, check the provided results pool to see how you did and count up your total. Also make note of the number your rolls add up to.

▶ Fill in your post with a short, in character blurb. We want to see your character's scavenging style!

▶ The two most successful scavengers each day will receive tickets, or if there are more than two, they will be raffled amongst those tied.

▶ The third ticket will be given to the first person of the day to roll a total that matches a number of the day. So, if the number is 15 and you roll 6, 6, 3, you win!

▶ If no one wins the third ticket in this way, it will be given alongside the other two.

▶ The last day's winners will be decided by their total for the whole week.

You should have this at the top of your posts:

The paper that's been shoved into your hands is covered in red and orange ink. There are words scribbled out, words horribly misspelled, and some rambling sentences here and there that don't seem entirely relevant to the game, but eventually you manage to pick out the three items they're requesting for the day. With any luck, that'll be the hardest part of your task. Really, how hard could a simple scavenger hunt be?

      The Staff
This item is a long staff made of a white wood and topped with a bright red crystal of some kind. You notice it over the heads of others in the crowd, being carried by a slightly plump and very indecisive older yellowblood.

      The Locket
The second item is a small silver locket in the shape of a heart. It's hard to spot such a small mark in this sea of trolls, but eventually you spot one matching its description around the neck of a blueblood have a loud argument with her friend.

      The Challenge
Oddly enough, instead of an item being listed here, the owners seem to want to you to come back by the booth for a different sort of challenge! Apparently when they asked for boxes and keys, they got a bunch of both that don't seem to really...match up as well as hoped. So! They want in those boxes, and they bet you're just dying to see what they put in there, so come and put your lockpicking skills to work! (For this, make sure your roleplay response includes the opening of a box and, instead of using the results below, add whatever the third d6 ended up on to your score.)

Easy as pie, right? Let's take a look at how well you did, then.
1 - The second your hand closes around the item, its owner turns towards you and begins to screech 'THIEF!' In the ensuing struggle, you lose hold of it and have to flee. Not your best work there. Fail.

2 - Wow, I'm not sure how you did it, but somehow you really pulled it off. You got that item! Better make a break for it before your luck runs out. Success!

3 - Yikes, you weren't moving anywhere near fast enough to catch hold of that one. The troll holding your item is already disappearing into the crowd. You've really got to step it up a notch if you want to impress the folks at the booth, you know? Fail.

4 - That was some textbook scavenging. People would definitely be pretty impressed if they'd seen your work, but of course no one did. Success!

5 - As you reach for the item, you're knocked out of the way by a hulk of a blueblood. You have just enough time as you hit the ground to glimpse the thief mask he's wearing before he makes off with your loot, yelling an apology and something about 'his lil lady'. You're not sure who's more shocked, you or the troll that was stolen from. Fail.

6 - Woah, look at that, there's the item you're looking for. Just sitting there, out in the open, nobody looking at it, nobody looking at you. Doesn't this seem easy? Maybe too easy? Is it a trap? Are you about to get caught? Are you- Oh, nah, it really was just that easy. Success!

Uh oh, you're looking a little worried there. But hey, wasn't there something on that paper about an extra secret prize winning method? Something about a number, what was it...? Oh, there it is! Today's winning number is 12.

By now you're probably thinking to yourself 'Why am I doing all this very impressive scavenging? What is it for?' Well fear not! Etsali and Zindel have a great variety of prizes just for you. That's what you're doing this for, and don't you forget it. Let's take a look at those again, why don't we, just to refresh your memory!

User Image
Free Candy
Come on, you know you want some. Don't even have to trade anything for it! Just grab a few when you get your list.

User Image
The Bottle
Now, this may look like any old Faygo bottle filled with water and tied with a bow, but this is in fact a very special prize. Twice blessed by secret unknown rituals, just a sip of this water will bring you more luck than you've ever known. Drink responsibly. Requires five items.

User Image
The Mask
You won't get a mask this cool anywhere else, folks, and wearing one will immediately let everyone know what a great scavenger you really are. Etsali won't let just anyone have them, though. Oh no, you gotta prove yourself worthy of this. Come back when you've found ten items.

Name: Dictys Glauci
Week Total: 1
Day Total: 1

Now this was an interesting booth, and it didn't even require that Dictys stay in the area. How convenient - ey had a lot of trolls to meet, after all. Dictys handled the - filthy - goal card with care as ey looked around for trolls matching the physical descriptions within...

The first one was easy. Dictys almost didn't even have to try as ey lifted the watch cleanly off the blueblood's wrist. It was almost disappointing - lowbloods really didn't have any dedication, ey thought. The blueblood had been stroking her lusus and gossiping to a friend. Even as noticeable as someone with Dictys' blood color and fins was, they didn't so much as glance at em. Fortunatel for them it wasn't even a nice watch - there were hardly fins at all (although to be fair it'd probably been provided by the booth's owners). You could certainly color Dictys disappointed.

The next two would certainly be harder. Dictys didn't have the ability to see through cloth, after all, and ey really didn't have any desire to check lowbloods' bags for a bacterium-infested snack. Ey found a nervous-looking orangeblood who fit the description well and had to only brush eir hand against her bag when she screamed about a thief in their midst. Other trolls needed only glance at the scene to realize there was no true threat, however. Still, Dictys leveled at her a frosty glare and glided elsewhere.

It took awhile before DIctys spotted the final actor; ey'd had time to stop by several booths (including a thoroughly disappointing one themed after eating cupcakes) before spotting an appropriately serpentine greenblood. The best approach, ey decided, after a surreptitious glance, was to head them off from behind. Dictys meandered subtly over (ey thought, anyway) and reached eir hand out to play with the clasp before the greenblood whirled around brusquely.

Name:Hazmas Pochim
Week Total: 2
Day Total: 2

Hazmas looked over the booth, his eyes held fast to the mask that was on display.
"Ten prize points," he murmured stroking is chin thoughtfully, "I can do that."

Grinning mischievously, the little green blood signed up for the scavenger hunt and looked over the checklist given to him. He liked this game. This would test his think-pan for sure! Machim hunched over him, her beady white eyes looking down the list as she grunted disapprovingly.

"Don't worry, I won't get caught," Hazmas said, looking up at his lusus. The winged ape hooted aggressively in reply, clearly agitated by her charge's choice.

"All we need to do is find the stuff and bring it here. Simple! And if you help me, we can find the trolls faster and get it over with."

Machim took a moment to think it over before hooting her agreement. The little troll laughed happily and climbed onto his lusus' back. With a leap and a bound, the two were in the air, circling over the festival. It wasn't long before he found the blueblood lounging around a booth that had something to do with royalty.

"There she is! the first one!" Hazmas grinned. Now all he had to do was get the watch from her. He frowned. Highbloods didn't often react well to sympathy ploys. It was almost worse than their reaction to aggression - at least then you had a tiny chance of impressing them with your moxy. But with him being so much smaller and younger than her, that probably wouldn't work. If there was just some way to distract her so he could get the bracelet.

"Distract.."

A sly grin slid onto his face as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little ball he'd made back at home. As Machim circled over the booth again, Hazmas dropped the little sphere which burst into billowing cloud of foul smelling smoke.

"Set me down Machim, quick!" Hazmas cried, and jumped to the ground as soon as it was close enough. Covering his mouth with his jacket collar, the little troll rushed into the cloud. The blueblood was still by the stall, coughing spasmodically in the smoke.

"Here! This way! the smoke's clear over here!" he called, grabbing her wrist and guiding her out of the cloud. It was great being short and able to guide the snippy, ungrateful high blood. All she did was give him a swat and a testy warning not to go touching a blueblood again before walking off in a irritated huff.

Hazmas rubbed his head and looked down at his palm, wondering when she'd realize that her watch was missing, as he began looking for his next target. He didn't need to look far. Fumes of his smoke bomb had drifted far and wide from its initial strike zone, probably irritating the tar out of the booth owners while incapacitating booth-goers.

The greenblood winced. 'Oops. Guess I over did it," he thought, when he spotted the frizzy-haired orangeblood described on the list. Carefully, he approached the troll as they hacked from the smoke in their lungs and nose. The bag they usually held tighter than a vice-clamp, hung loosely from their hand, shaking occasionally as they coughed.

He took his chance. Dashing up from behind them, the little troll hooked the bag in his arms, tearing it out of the fingers of its owner. The orange blood screeched shrilly through their coughs as Hazmas ducked and darted behind a booth. Quickly, he rummaged through the sack, grabbing the sandwitch before running back behind the booths and hurling the bag back at the distressed orange blood.

'That was close!' he thought, breathing heavily as he stuffed the sandwich into his jacket's deepest pocket. Once he was well away from the smoke and screaming troll, Hazmas was just about to stop for breath when he nearly crashed into a towering greenblood. He quailed as the older troll bared their teeth, underbite jutting out as if their teeth were tusks while underneath dangled the green necklace he'd been sent to find!

'Ooooooh, this is bad!' he thought as the troll bared down on him. They opened their mouth to snarl an insult when a huge something barreled between the two greenbloods, knocking them apart.

"BLOODY FETCHIN' DUGGARS!" Hazmas yowled and fell hard on his back. Catching his breath, he looked over at the other green blood who looked back at him with the same bewildered expression. The two turned their heads at the charging troll as he shouted something about a lady back to them.

In little to no time, the greenbloods were on their feet and on their way, with Machim scolding her little charge for being so reckless as she checked him for injuries.

"I'm okay, Machim, really!" he said, brushing her away. "Besides, I got the other two. C'mon, let's get to the booth!"

Name: Voscil Torgny
Week Total: 2
Day Total: 2

Voscil approached the booth, recognizing almost instantly two of her buddies during the drought. A grin spread over the yellowbloods face as she leapt first at Etsali and hugged the girl, before turning to Zindel and offering him a wave of greeting and a clasp on the shoulder remembering how he'd spazzed on her when she'd touched him.

Hearing the low down on the game, she seemed eager to give it a go. "I'll be back in NO time~!" She promised the two trolls with a mischievous gleam in her eyes. Shoving her hand in the candy bowl, she only grabbed a few as not to spoil it for others...and began munching away as she zipped off. Surely grabbing a few items would be simple. When she was shoved the piece of paper covered in red and orange ink her eyes roamed the letter. It took a bit of discerning, but Voscil got the jist of it. She had three items to retrieve and return. A scavenger hunt was right up the kid’s alley.

Rushing off without warning, she went for the first item on the list, the watch. It took her relatively no time to find the blueblood. The snooty careless attitude made it almost too easy to lift the item off her. Making a break for it, she raced off as if she'd never been there. It sure was nice having powers to lean on especially when reaction timing was what counted.

Next up was some food, which somehow managed to make it back to the two trolls without being consumed. While Voscil had considered just eating the thing, and losing out on her prize for this one..but she at least had CANDY to chomp on. That at least kept the sandwich safe from consumption.

However, when she went for her last attempt the sugar was at last getting to her. Instead of finding the troll she was hyper-actively racing around like a loony bin, bouncing off of various objects and leaping around as MamaJu had to in turn keep up with her. Oopse. Looks like the troll she needed to interact with had vanished in the crowd in the meantime.

She returned with what she had obtained, and simply bounced around her friend’s booth like a ping pong ball until it was time to say goodbye and be on her way to find more booth owners to pester.

You won the special ticket, good job!

Etsali was giggling over something as Hazmas approached, but she seemed to get a hold of herself as soon as she saw him, straightening up. There was just a glint of light as something slid off the counter of the booth (had that been a certain necklace?), but then she was leaning over on her elbows to peer at him with a wide, disarming smile. "Hey there, welcome back! What have you got for us today? I hear you were doing some pretty impressive stuff out there!" She took his two items with noticeable glee, nodding over both, and then slid them over to Zindel for him to see.

"You're well on your way to being a real scavenger like this! You're gonna keep coming back to earn one of these, right?" The teen tapped the mask on her face. "Oh hey, speaking of earning things, can I see your list again real quick? Just got to check...Ah! What do you know?" She disappeared a moment, leaning down out of sight, and then reappeared with a raffle ticket in hand. Her other hand reached for the candy bowl, plucking out a sucker before handing them both over.

"See you again soon," her eyes flickered down to the list again, "Hazmas!"

leon_a_darkangel

Voscil's arrival was met with a cheerful laugh and a just as enthusiastic hug. "I was hoping we'd see you! Maybe Ephias will come by too, I told him he ought to come. There's an event with gerbils, you know!" It wasn't entirely clear why that would have been an argument for Ephias coming, but the thief seemed very sure of it. "Then we can compare and see which one of you is the better scavenger! Hehe, I bet you'll win!" Giggling, she reached for a new list to hand over and went over the rules before waving Vos off on her adventure.

She grinned at the results. "You definitely win fastest scavenger so far, anyway!" She was more than happy to entertain the yellowblood while she was there, and even slipped her more candy now and then, before nodding a goodbye. "Hey, maybe we'll go find your booth later too!"

Nodding along to the booth keepers instructions, Pragma broke into a grin and believed every word. There was no way other trolls would see him as a thief, right? He was so nice! And these trolls had said everything would be fine and was acceptable, so why not?

Walking into the crowd, he saw the greenblood with the necklace almost immediately. Excitedly he ran after her, trying to get her attention but to no avail as his voice wa lost in the crowd. Guess he'd have to ask her later for the necklace. Turning around his eyes zeroed in on a sandwich that an orangeblood was setting down on a bench before wandering off. Huh, how odd. He must have been done with it! But it looked like he'd barely taken a bite out of it...oh well. Snatching it up, he walked back into the crowd, completely oblivious to the noise the orangeblood made as he came back from refilling his drink.

After wandering through the crowd some more, Pragma was about to give up on the watch when he found it! Tearing up to the blueblood who was wearing it, he grabbed her hand and pointed excitedly at the watch. "Ma'am! Ma'am! Can I have your watch, it's exactly what I'm looking for!" Almost instantaneously, the Troll reared back and bared her fangs as she screamed "you little thief" and pushed him away before walking away and yelling at him to leave her alone. Sad and frustrated as to why she was so rude, the young orangeblood made his way back to the tent and offered up the sandwich with a slight smile. At least he had found one of the things, right?

Etsali hurries back to the booth, arms full of a stack of papers. When she plops them down on the counter, a few sheets scatter and it becomes immediately obvious from the flash of orange and red across it that these must be the new lists for the day! She must have been worried they didn't have enough, huh? Well, whatever the reason, one thing is clear.

Week Total: 1+1 = 2
Day Total: 1

It was easy to find a purpleblood who boasted about her precious treasure, in Dictys' opinion, and so ey faded into the crowd to look for the other two targets. The redblood stood out, too, but Dictys eyed them with narrowed eyes as ey approached. This particular actor looked incredibly cull-worthy. Ey wasn't sure why the booth runners wanted to encourage this sort of behavior, but ey stepped up to the troll carrying the knife regardless. "I understand you're an actor, but I think you'll quickly learn that you'll never be properly compensated for your inability to function in ordinary society." Ey shook eir head at the troll and moved on - there was no way ey was even going to bother rewarding this troll's incredible apparent instability, or feed it.

So distracted was ey that ey only just remembered the group's interest in the purpleblood with the mirror, as well. That was easy: no one troll could spend all their time watching a mirror. Dictys plucked it out when they weren't looking and displayed it proudly as ey left.

      ツ Lutrin Weesil

Lutrin prowled the streets, feeling very stealthy and very daring. Up ahead was her target, a self-absorbed purpleblood, chatting animatedly with similarly hued trolls. In the folds of her robe was the mirror. Lutrin could catch the silvery gleam of the reflective just peeping out. An easy assignment! She crept forward. She was was the silent predator. She was the shadow over the moon. She was the night personified. She was... She was still wearing a lot of glowsticks was what she was.

Lutrin sprang into position, like a martial arts combatant. She sucked in her breath through her teeth and held out her hands dramatically, in the classic robber pose. The she reached for the mirror.

The highblood was not amused.

Lutrin knew it was all a game, but the look the purpleblood gave her seemed very real. In fact, it made her a little worried. Not afraid of course, but worried certainly. It was time to get going. Sliding the mirror back in its owner's gown with a giggle and pat, Lutrin gave a shy smile, complimented the highblood on her impeccable taste and cartwheeled through the crowd in hasty retreat.

She had better luck with her next target. The bottle lay right out in the open, apparently unguarded. That almost took the fun out of it. Glancing around, Lutrin searched for any signs of an ambush. Like Sugardad always said, scope out the site before making a move. In this case, it was completely deserted. No hidden eyes, waiting to spring a trap. With a shrug, she approached the bottle and tucked it into her fanny pack.

The final item on the list took some time to find. She had wandered almost the entire festival grounds before she located the redblood who owned it. That was just finding it though. It was a whole other challenge retrieving the knife. Every time, she got close the redblood moved, or glanced her way. Several times, she was forced to stop and make herself look otherwise occupied; ducking into booths, conjuring up newspapers, whistling while leaning against sign posts, engaging strangers in a spontaneous game of pat-a-cake... At last though, she had successfully circled the target and nabbed the knife right from his pocket. She resisted the urge to crow her victory and instead rushed back to the booth.

“I got them, I got them, I got them!!” she shouted, racing towards Etsali and Zindel. She held the bottle in one hand and the knife in the other, waving them erratically as she ran. She practically screeched to a halt in front of them and offered the items, panting. “The mirror was a no-go, but I did get these!!”
