Midna had become quite busy as of late particularily with lessons and Duties from the head librarian. She was certainly learning a lot, and getting the chance to read a lot too. She rather enjoyed spending time with the dusty tomes and tablets. There was much to read, especially if the writer had good prose making things a more interesting read by far. However almost as many of the tomes and scrolls were written by writers of whom were dry and tasteless. But each still needed to be cared for regardless. Once both duties and lessons were finished she was able to head home.
"Let's go Marrok," she called having to pause to wait for the bolf. She wondered what he was honestly doing but paid it no mind. She never did scold the bolf and he was probably her only other real friend aside from Dracul aka Gabriel the dark tribe Magus. She Didn't often speak about it unless it was brought up. She wouldn't lie about it as there was really no point to.
Once the bolf had come to her side she continued toward the library entrance. As usual her head held high and casting a mysterious aura(Which usually didn't last when she got angry).
Marrok came running to her side on all fours. He would have barked happily had his mouth not been full. Following in stride until Midna had exited the library doors. once clear the dark bolf opened in wings and flapped into the flying beside Midna. The bolf was carrying blank parchment in his mouth carefully in order to aid his friend. She was going to practice on her own tonight.

Kyou liked being around the library. Not because he had any job or business there, or at least not yet. Maybe he'd try and get one real soon... Whatever, the only reason he liked it there was because it was quiet and nobody bothered to bother him. He wasn't vicious but Kyou didn't come off as overly bouncy and happy and friendly. He was grumpy and cold and liked his privacy.
That might have been because he didn't really 'get' others. He had trouble trying to understand or comprehend that calling a girl b'alam fat hurt her feelings. He didn't get why sometimes people were nice to him and sometimes they weren't. He didn't seem to understand that his words had such a big impact on other's emotional states.
"Come along Magnus." He called to the Bolf who loyally was following him. Kyou didn't consider Magnus a friend, then again he considered nobody his friend. The Bolf seemed to like him and Kyou had to admit, he did enjoy the Bolf's company.
While calling to his creature behind him Kyou had little time to realize he was about to run head first into another b'alam.
Magnus gave a happy bark in response to Kyou acknowledging him. Sometimes Kyou didn't, and Magnus was left to try his very best to speed along and catch up to him. That wasn't always easy, especially when Kyou had Magnus hold every. single. thing. that Kyou got. Right now he was walking a few feet behind Kyou, and held a few scrolls that Kyou had borrowed to read for the night in his paws. He noticed the b'alam ahead of them and gave a worried bark to try and get Kyou's attention. This only made Kyou turn and face Magnus, completely not even noticing that he was about to run into Midna straight ahead of him.

"Marrok don't drool on the parchment," she chided her companion glancing away for a brief time. Today would prove to be quite productive she was certain. Keen ears hearing an unfamiliar yelp caused her to look forward with a start as Kyou smacked into her a hiss escaped her..
"h..Hey!" she snipped in surprise as she got a look at the balam that had crashed into her. Midna's eyes narrowed as a angry glare graced her usually cool features. "Watch where you're going!" She snapped at him trying to get some space in between them once more. Ugh, this creature had no manners. Did he even know who she was? How dare he!
Midna's fiery gaze fell hard upon the perpetrator. "What kind of...," she trailed off. He looked like her, really like her. he had almost the same color of blue-grey fur. Except his wings had a twilight hue. He had a sunset mane similar to hers. Though his teal wasn't as bright as he own it still seemed to shimmer like hers. How?
"Answer me; Who are you?"she regarded him suspiciously.
Marrok smiled as best he could at his mistress as she chided him. She didn't really mean anything by it he knew. Still he didn't dare get drool on it let she actually become angry. Marrok however dropped the parchment in surprise as another ran into his mistress. He yelped sitting on his back legs trying to catch the carefully crafted parchment in his paws. He growled at the male balam that had run into her and jumped closer to her side. Eyeing the other bolf as well.

He swore, he had only just turned his head around to look at his fussy Bolf companion when Kyou felt the impact of running into another moving creature. With a slight snarl he stepped back and shook his head slightly, as if to clear his thoughts. Then, he stared with his dark eyes at the other B'alam he had run into.
How interesting. He scanned her coat, her orange hair and vibrant markings. They reminded him of himself, and that made him feel slightly unsettled. Regardless he continue to wear a frown when she started talking, demanding he tell her who he was and all that.
Ugh. Just his luck to run into some fiery-tempered person who insisted on making his ears ring...
"Humph, and you were facing me. Why didn't you look where you were going then?" He muttered in a low tone. "Why should I introduce myself to you anyways? Is it really so important for you to know?"
Magnus allowed his ears to droop down with shock as he watched the two B'alam run into one another. Oh no, oh no, Kyou wasn't going to be happen with him from that having happened! No, not at all.
He let out a soft whine and scurried up to stand behind his master's legs, looking over the scrolls he was carrying to catch a glimpse of the lady-B'alam and other Bolf standing across from where he was. Unlike Marrok who was busy starring death-daggers in Magnus's direction the purple-winged Bolf was simply eyeing the other with curiosity, not hostility. He hoped that maybe Kyou and the lady-B'alam could just forgive each other and a disaster could be avoided. Maybe they could just be friends or something, he thought while forcing a rather awkward smile.

"Calm yourself and Don't you dare drop that parchment Marrok, I'm fine." she told the bolf in an authoritative tone. Marrok looked ready to jump in front of her if she was in danger. Which she wasn't, she could take care of herself in a fight despite her appearance.
She'd Turned her head for half a second and she runs into this guy. If he didn't look like her she'd not have given him a second thought after chewing him out. And he's snarky, ill mannered, and annoying. He needed to learn some manners. One did not treat a lady as he does.
However, curiosity caused her to put that aside for now as she regained her lady like exposure and gave a her signature mysterious smile "You're not even the least bit curious are you?" She paused stretching her wings out, "We look almost identical and your not even the slightest bit interested." Shame really she closed her large black and teal wings setting them .
"Your name." she repeated. He'd been rude and snarky under his breath not giving it to her. "Because when you bump into a Lady it's your obligation to give your name if she asks." answering his question with her usual tone.
Marrok let slip a growl if the other balam had hurt his companion Marrok wouldn't forgive him. A sharp word from Midna and Marrok did calm all traces of his aggression did vanish and he gave her a whine. Reminding himself to be careful of the package in his mouth. The other bolf didn't look too concerned in he least. Did he not care about his companion? [599 To this point]

Curious? No. Concerned a little bit? Maybe. Wondering what the Grand Weaver was thinking when he spun another to look like him, or maybe the other way around, another to look like her, in existence? It was eerie, that's what it was. He didn't like the fact that they looked so alike. It was... Unusual. "It's strange, but not something to worry over..." He muttered quietly out of his mouth.
Kyou raised an eyebrow, a lady? What did it matter if she was a lady or not? Heck, what did it matter if she was Bolf of all things?! Just because someone, they-, they-, demanded to know his name did not mean Kyou was obligated to answer.
He felt a persistent tug on one of his wings that he had, at some point, lifted slightly in alarm. The Tahtll swore he could physically feel steam coming out of his ears from annoyance towards his companion, and he was all so aware his fur was beginning bristling.
Then he looked down into Magnus's begging eyes and his scowl lightened. Sigh, the Bolf was just a Bolf. Wasn't his fault that Kyou had run into this dragon-lady... Kyou felt a strange comfort from the high pitched whine his Bolf was giving him, maybe because it was so ridiculous sounding, or maybe because Magnus was trying to make his eyes look big enough they'd pop out of his skull. Either way, Kyou relaxed.
With a sigh he turned to the Nantili with only slightly flattened ears and his tone containing slightly more cheer. "Fine, fine, since you insist." He waved a paw around as if trying to dispel any additional snappy remarks on the subject. "I am Kyou, my companion is named Magnus. Now your turn lady, what's your name?"
Kyou had started to act a little angrier, and Magnus all too well knew where this conversation would end up if he didn't intervene! Kyou had a tendency to snap at the Bolf when Magnus did something bad to make him angry, and the last thing he wanted was for Kyou to blow up at another b'alam. He wasn't sure if a B'alam would be so forgiving of Kyou's behavior if he did!
So the Bolf had grabbed onto Kyou's wing to distract him. Then he put on his bestest pouty face to make Kyou stop making his angry-look. Magnus watched in joy as his master softened his expression and gave a happy bark in response.
Now the other Bolf. They were interesting! Magnus hadn't spent much time around his own kind since meeting Kyou, and desperately wanted to play with one again! With a squeak he looked at Marrok, and a slight wag of his tail ensued.

"Eee hee! No concern at all huh?" He still seemed rather irritated, she couldn't help but smirk a little. It was fun poking him despite his earlier rudeness. Midna was however, not overly impressed when he held off giving her his name. In fact it was quite annoying. But no matter the fun from teasing him would outweigh her annoyance. Midna had to make the most out of her rather dull situation.
Midna's brow raised as he did finally relax at the sound of the high pitched whine of his companion. She couldn't help but smile herself. Regardless of the one they'd chosen Midna loved bolfs, all of them. he seemed to want to play, Midna turned briefly to her own companion, Giving Marrok her full attention she stroked the bolf gently on his head as he barked and whined affectionately. She glanced back to Kyou now he'd given his name.
"Midna," she answered before turning her attention to the bolf, "this is Marrok." she stroked him a few more times before carefully taking the paper's from the bolf so he was free to so as he wished. She always doted on the bolf more so than other balam she'd met. Not a single other balam had been able to keep her attention for too long aside from her friend. Mysterious that one even to her. Midna's tail brushed the rock stairs gently back and forth she smiled softly at her companion.
Marrok was pleased though to see things had calmed down quite a bit. What was that other bolf staring at? Marrok wasn't sure he had duties to his lady. Magnus was his name according to his friend there that had run into Midna. However Marrok was curious once Magnus started acting as he did? He'd never seen such an act and Kyou seemed to respond. for only a moment He felt a little jealous at least until Minda began petting him and his tail began to wag happily. He brushed up against her affectionately once she'd taken the parchment from him. She'd always taken the best care of him.
~Squeak~
Came the sound from the other bolf, And Marrok enjoying midna's attention turned his turquoise eyes to Magnus. What did he want? Marrok's ears raised and he watched the other bolf curiously.
Midna smiled softly at the bolf giving him one final stroke before turning back to Kyou giving him a smile as mysterious as it was mischievous as an idea came into her head. Midna continued using her telekinesis as she carried the paper beside her. "You're not exactly what I had in mind..." she paused "but I guess you'll do. Eeh Hee."[304]

It somehow irked him how she laughed at their similar appearance. It was just an odd coincidence that they looked alike. What other reason was there to explain it? Hmm. Whatever. He'd shove thoughts of that out of his mind until later when he had time to worry over these minor things.
Midna. Good, now the face had a name to go with it. Kyou lifted a brow as he watched her stroke her bolf Marrok. It occured to him he had never done such to Magnus. He pondered for a second if his bolf would enjoy being pet like such. Though Magnus wasn't good at sitting still long enough to be pet. So probably not.
Kyou gave a slightly startled glare as Midna grinned at him. She wanted something out of him? Why? "Do for what?" He asked her suspiciously. Did it have something to do with the scrolls she was carrying? Whatever it was Kyou wasn't certain he wanted any part of it. Though he was willing to at least shut up for now and let Midna explain whatever it was she wanted him to do. Who knew, maybe he be okay doing whatever task she had come up with. Maybe...
Magnus seemed pleased as Marrok looked in his direction! He had been worried there for a moment that the other bolf was just going to stare at the boring conversation between their master's this whole time. Which was okay Magnus supposed... Only it wasn't much fun just watching the big-creatures talk all the time. As they made eye-contact Magnus excitedly gave a springy jump from where he was followed by a happy bark. Kyou hadn't glare at him yet to stop making noise so Magnus took this to mean he could do whatever he liked for the moment. The bolf eagerly dashed forward over to where Marrok sat, forcing himself to almost slide on the ground as he stopped himself from running into the other creature! Once there he gave yet another happy squeak, 'Play with me!' He thought to himself.

It was still a little eerie to her they both looked so similar. Midna was certain there was a reason the two of them looked extremely similar she just wasn't sure what it was yet. She was certain over time it would be revealed. However, right now she thought it might be fun to continue to tease him. his little glare only brought a smile to her elegant face. "I need you to gather some things for me. It'll be easy." She glanced to the two bolfs "Seeing as you're bolf has occupied my companion." Midna motioned to the bolf who'd been helping her earlier, the one that seemed to match her. With Kyou She should be able to pick up a few more things on her return to her quarters she'd been meaning to collect. Simple errands mostly, she had some Mordrem grow as special colored moss for her home. In turn she'd scribed down some of this plant care tips for those who couldn't simply understand his subterranean plants the same way he did. there was another, errand as well she'd been looking for a set of clothing that matched her unique style and she often went peaking through the theatre for inspiration.
Midna watched the bolfs for a moment longer before started back down the stairs. She walked around the playing bolfs and began to pass Kyou. "Now, Come on, let's get moving." flashing another glance and mysterious smile she continued down the stairs. "They can play as we walk." she added not looking back. She was certain he would either follow or make a protest wondering about why he had to help her. She was more certain of the latter.
Marrok would follow certainly without a doubt he always did and he never left her side. She was grateful for his companionship. He had the most wonderful howl. Marrok's howl often sounded like music. Midna paused for a brief moment waiting for the bolf to catch up. She chuckled quietly to herself that magus must be very distracting she thought.
[344]
Marrok was taken back by the exuberance of the other bolf. Marrok released an unsure bark at Magnus. Marrok was suddenly almost face to face with the other bolf and leaped back in surprise. What was this? He'd not played with another bolf before. Marrok had duties to his mistress. he glanced up ad her but she was only watching with a smile. She wanted him to play?
It was strange, he wasn't used to playing at all. Caught up in the playful energy of magus his tail started wagging and he barked and began growling playfully he grinned as he realized his mistress was at the foot of the library's stairs he dashed past Magnus and Kyou and barked at the other Come catch me!

“What?!” Kyou’s felt himself tense in response to her request. No, this was no longer really a request was it? A demand was more along the lines of what this was. "Now, Come on, let's get moving." she had said. The word ‘No’ filled his mind and was on the tip on his tongue ready to be shouted, along with a growl building in his throat. Kyou was not alright with this arrangement Midna had come up with. Whatever had previously given him the idea that he might be alright with it had vanquished in that instant. He was not a… A captive. A captive forced to gather things for other people. He wasn’t a gatherer or a merchant or anything of the sort!
“I’m not a farmer.” He told her with an annoyed flick of his tail. Kyou frowned as Midna didn’t seem very interested in hearing his opinion, given that she kept walking. Grr. To make matters worse even his bolf was following her! Or well, he was playing with her Bolf Marrok, and Marrok was following her. Which meant if he called out for Magnus to come back to him his Bolf would probably be more inclined to make a fuss and purposely ignore him so he could continue playing with Marrok for as long as possible.
… Stupid Bolf’s making everything more difficult. Stupid Midna for wanting his help gathering whatever.
Oh shoot, they were actually moving further out of his sight-range... Kyou hurried to gather the scrolls Magnus had dropped of his earlier, then he unfurled his wings as he briefly sprinted to catch up and walk alongside Midna. He was still frowning, by he didn’t necessarily complain to her per say. The dark-pelted Tah repeated his earlier statement, “I am NOT a farmer. So don’t expect me to… to pick mushrooms or something.”
[294]
Yay! Magnus gave a happy bark at knowing that the other was willing to play with him! He was briefly astonished as Marrok raced by, but the instant he saw the other Bolf stop he assumed just exactly what it was the other wanted. Giving a little butt-wiggle as he raised his rump in the air Magnus lifted himself to the air in something of a glide and a pounce all rolled into one. He didn’t actually land anywhere near Marrok, so he had to run towards the other as he playfully growled and repeat his pounce-glide again so that hopefully the second time he’d actually land on the other. Your turn! You catch me now!

A light laugh escaped her as Kyou suddenly exclaimed in protest she could hear him as they walked. His reaction was amusing if not expected. He was quite entertaining she mused. It might be fun to continue to tease him. Midna heard his quick approach as he began to catch up with them "I never said what we were getting tee hee." she giggled as soon as he had come beside her. She'd keep him guessing a bit longer, Kyou had good instincts though. In all truth the raising was finished. The Bioluminescent fungi just had to be gathered. She just had to set them once she got them from Mordrem but she'd rather not dirty he paws or her parchment unless necessary.
She unintentionally silent padded through the streets the only noise from the pair of bolfs at their side. The Bolfs had been quite advantageous this time around as she now had an extra set of paws with her. She remained silent enjoying the company of the bolfs as they passed through the streets toward the edge of town.
Raised her brow glancing to her side almost expecting him to say some sort of complaint about his situation.
Marrok growled playfully back Sidestepping Magnus's hop pounce combo and circling around on his own. That first one was nowhere near, the second one was close. Marrok began chasing magus he barked back. There was no way he'd get outdone by the other honestly. He had to protect his lady after all. [200]

Kyou wore a unimpressed frown as he marched but he didn’t outright complain. Or rather, not noticeably. “Mushrooms, berries, stupid flowers…” He was mumbling all the different things he could think that anyone with half a brain would consider trying to grow down here. So that he could gauge just how much he was going to loathe the oncoming activity.
Mushrooms were popular, and so it made sense that he suggested they were such. Berries? He think he had seen a few. Maybe. Near the edge of the cavern system. Flowers were also a likely choice. What was it with flowers anyway? B’alam seemed to like them so much but then they’d just wither and die. You couldn’t eat them, so what was the point of keeping them? He feared that maybe he’d never understand it.
Before he even actually noticed it the duo had moved to the outskirts of the town. Had he walked here without saying a word? Had she? Or had she talked to him and he hadn’t said anything. Oh, uh, er- oops. Kyou made a grunting noise as he acknowledged the silenceness between them. “Er, um… What exactly IS it we’re getting?”
[WC: 197]
Magus made a happy “yip” noise as Marrok started chasing him. Yay, what fun this was! As they moved through town he started getting tactical with his game of tag. He hid behind flower pots before near-pouncing on the other and zig zagged out of piles of bricks or other materials strewn about. But as less and less hiding spots cropped up the game started become less and less fun- or rather Magus was getting more and more tired. He eventually gave up on running in favor of simply fast-walking and playfully nipping at the other Bolf every so often.

Marrok continued to chase magus. Marrok let loose a bark as he followed. Magus seemed to be hiding behind thing and zig zagging to stop him from catching up. Though as they began heading to the edge of the city fewer hiding spots and magus began to tire. That was perfectly fine for Marrok. He didn't tire as easily. He was always taken outside the city to run as far as he could. Marrok began to n** back a little playfully as they walked quickly together now. Marrok's ears flicked as he could hear midna singing. or at humming. he yipped at the other balam and went to be beside his mistress and began singing with her.
Midna began humming a strange tune she'd come up with. It was mysterious and beautiful much like her. Marrok hearing the familiar tune came running walking in stride with her. Midna stopped part way through and Marrok continued matching her voice note for note. It became a lovely duet between midna and her bolf. Midna and Marrok were very tightly bonded together. Midna did truly adore her bolf than anything else in the world. She paused a moment to stroke him again fondly.
All his unhappiness was more amusement for Midna. It was as though he felt he was suffering a great trial when in fact there was no such thing. "Just wait and see." she answered still mysteriously flicking her ebony tail as they came to the place where mordrem lived outside the city. He lived more in a decorated cave than a house and he spent most his time in the back. "He's a bit grumpy be sure not to insult his work." Midna warned Kyou.
"Mordrem." Midna called out to the grumpy balam. He was never happy to see anyone. His work though was the finest he lit the streets of the capital and many of the stores. [201]
Mordrem was in the back checking on the bioluminescent fungi that he had grown for the lady Midna. She said she would come and get it. Never did know with her she seemed to be rather what was the word? Bah, it didn't matter. he huffed. He had work to do all the time. When the fungi did lose it's glow in the city it had to be replaced. He went to another patch he had grown and tended it carefully.
"Mordrem."
His ears flattened to the back of his head suddenly. So she was here, mordrem grumbled to himself pulling away from his current task and heading outside of his cave. She had enlisted help apparently, how? he sighed gruffly, Poor Tah.
Mordrem also noted the blank paper Midna carried. Ah so the exchange would all happen at once.
"Come inside." he grumbled without giving anyone a second look. "The bolfs stay outside." he ordered He'd not have them ruining his work because they were playful.

Oh great, now the nan was humming. Kyou didn’t even bother trying to stop himself from rolling his eyes at what happened next, what with her bolf jumping up and joining in the tune. Why were they humming anyway? Amusement? Or maybe because it bothered Kyou to some degree…
Though, that said it wasn’t horrible. It wasn’t even terrible, if pushed Kyou might even say the wordless song they were making was actually kind of nice. He still didn’t understand why they were doing it though.
Then they came to the house- not house wasn’t the proper word… Lair. They came to the lair of a new tah. His green pupils gazed upon the sight with a look of mild confusion and interest. It certainly wasn’t inviting from a first glance..
He went to follow Midna inside the strange new abode of this Mordrem fellow but had to turn to speak to his Bolf first. “Magus, stay.”
[WC: 159]
Magus nearly ran into his master’s feet as he came to a stop. Stay? No! Why? He wanted to follow Kyou more! Emanating a soft whining noise he lightly pawed at the ground as his master turned to go in the entrance-tunnel-thing.
So not fair. Why did his master get to see a new place but Magus didn’t? He was a good bolf! He wouldn’t chew up furniture!
His thoughts were jerked away from his temporary abandonment with the realization that Marrok was also commanded to stay here with him. Yay! Fun! They could play some more. Magus trotted over to his new friend and made a happy bark-squeak noise in his direction.

Midna carefully had taken the parchment from Marrok during the exchange. The fact her humming bothered his amused her. Even more so when her bolf joined her. It was rather enjoyable to sing together with Marrok he had a wonderful voice. Kyou's grumpiness still amused her. Mindna followed Mordem until he led them to a table. This place was far from the nan's liking but mordem was the best at what he did so some allowances had to be made. Surpisingly apart from mordems work areas the rest of his home was surpisingly inviting. one could see some areas more fit for living than others.
Midna placed the parchment she'd taken earlier and placed them on the dusty table after brushing it off with her paw. She slipped the pen out of her pouch as well placing it beside the parchment. Midna gave kyou a sly smile.
---
"Place your parchment and quill here." Mordem said gruffly his voice was deep and booming unintentionally when he spoke. Often one of the reason why he didn't speak at all and just continued his work. Modrem wandered into another cavern of his come and came out with a fair sized[but too large to carry] terrarium of bioluminescent fungi. That much should be ample enough to light her home. Mordrem placed it on the table beside her things to allow her to inspect it. If it was satisfactory for the nan they could begin shortly. Mordrem wanted to get the exchange over with as fast as possible. He didn't like being around others unless he had to. his subterranean plants were all the company he wanted.
--
The Nan watched as the Tah left and returned with the fungi. This would at least make her home more accommodating to those who couldn't see. She thought she might sell some of her stone etchings to those who journeyed to the dark tribe looking for something interesting.
Midna inspected the plant but honestly wasn't much of a green paw herself didn't take long. The nan instead trusting the quality of the tah who'd lit the city. Gabriel wouldn't have a tah who didn't know his job, work on something so important.
the Nan unfurled a scroll and picked up her quill. "shall we begin?"
