"And what in Jack's name is this supposed to be?"
That was the question at the forefront of Kari's mind as she circled the golden portal. The first image that came to her mind was a peanut, seeing as some boils and ghouls had resurfaced from the portal covered in food stains... but peanuts hardly seemed like a romantic item. Kari went through a list of things she associated with romance: kissing, hugging, flowers, candy, dinner, dresses, jewelry... rings! The portal looked like a pair of rings! the ghoul wanted to smack herself with how obvious it seemed now that she'd put the pieces together.
So this portal had something to do with rings... and food? That worked for her. She liked eating food and she was okay at making food, so whatever was on the other side probably wouldn't pose much of a problem as long as it didn't have to involve a boil.
Stepping through the portal, she heard a slight whisper that sent a chill down her spine. Securing her scarf a bit tighter around her neck, Kari passed through the portal and took in the dimly lit room. Once more, it was a wide expanse, this time with only an empty dining table save for a couple candles and... a pair of stuffed bears? Walking towards the white one that was staring at its pink counterpart, she poked it gently with the tip of her staff. She was only mildly surprised when it moved its right paw, but rather than attack her, it only move the paw to its mouth, then pointed across the room to its front left.
Following the paw's trajectory, Kari laid eyes on a door set in the otherwise featureless wall. Deciding to leave the bears alone for now, she jogged around the table to investigate the door. Easing the door open, what the reaper found inside was... a kitchen. Checking the cupboards and walls, she found they were fully stocked with ingredients and cooking utensils, complete with a cute little pink apron hanging on the back of the door she'd entered from. Jogging back to the door, she looked out towards the two bears. She hadn't noticed until now, but they looked like they were having a candlelit dinner, only without the dinner.
"Wait... am I supposed to cook?", the ghoul pondered while staring at the frilly pink apron. She felt a sense of deja vu as she pull down the apron and tied the strings around her waist.
