 A neat and tidy dorm, walls plastered with maps of places that Akio plans to go or has been before. The curtains are drawn shut over plastic blinds, keeping Akio shielded from the rays of the sun which, while they will not kill him, will definitely damage his incredibly sensitive skin. Another bed on the other side of the room remains made, awaiting a roommate.

 Hikaru uses the key to get into the new dorm excited to meet his new roommate. "Hello? Anybody home?" He asks.

 Akio poked his head up from his bed, pushing down his laptop a bit. Must've been his new roommate! "In here!" he said, closing the laptop entirely. Pushing himself off the bed, he walked over to greet the person he'd be living with. "Hello!" he said with a cheery smile.

He holds out his hand for a handshake. "Hey man! Name's Hikaru!" He gives a warm and friendly smile.

"Pleasure to meet you, Hikaru!" Akio replied, shaking the boy's hand. "I'm Akio, but you can call me Aki if you like." He started to walk back over to his bed, plopping down onto it. "I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of decorating. I kept most of your side untouched, so you can do what you like with it." Folding his hands in his lap, he gave Hikaru a smile. "You've got your own dresser, and I figured we could share the closet since it has two sides."

"Awesome! I hope you don't mind but I need a little help unpacking..." He chuckles. "I'll get the heavy stuff if you want. And it isn't much so don't worry about that, mostly just various art supplies and posters. I don't wear a lot aside from our uniform, so not a whole bunch on the clothes side." He says friendly.

"Oh, it's no problem." Akio replied, hopping off the bed once again. "Do you have your bags with you, or are they out at a car or something?" he questioned, eyebrow raising. He was grateful that the boy offered to take the heavier load--his binder and weak lungs wouldn't really agree much with that and the last thing he needed was to wind up in the hospital during his first week of school. His grandmother would call for him to be sent home immediately. "It's not a problem if it's out at a car, but you'll have to be patient with me if so. I'm a dhampir with rather weak lungs, so going out in the sun and doing things is a bit of a pain in the neck." Oops. "Pun entirely unintended," he added on after his 'pain in the neck' comment."

He chuckles at the pun. "Don't worry! We have all day, I mean it isn't like classes start today right?" He holds open the door for the dhampir. "You know my brother has weak lungs too, so I get it. Also it was pretty cloudy outside when I got here so don't worry about the sun." He walks with Aki to his car and opens up the passenger side door. He hands the dhampir a small box of posters while he himself grabs a huge box of sketch books.

`•.¸¸.••´´¯``•• .¸¸.•´ `•.¸¸.••´´¯``•• .¸¸.•´ Aki gave a grateful smile. "Thank you for understanding." He followed behind the boy carefully, being sure to watch how much strain he put on himself. For once, he left his oxygen back in the room, thinking that just a little activity wouldn't be too much of a problem. Once out to the car, he felt a little winded, but nothing he hadn't dealt with before. Taking the box of posters in hand, he once again followed behind Hikaru. "So, you're an artist?" Aki questioned, wanting to learn a bit about his room mate.

"I guess you could say that. I was accepted into this school on the premise of performing arts and studio arts." The boy watches his new roommate carefully so that he doesn't get injured. He decides that Aki is fine and continues. "Although any athletic ability on my part is purely coincidence." He chuckles. "Enough about me, why did you come to Black Rose?" Hikaru asked.

Noting that the boy was watching him, he felt his heart warm a little, grateful that his roommate was already looking out for him. He coughed into his shoulder, having to pause for a minute. Once he got a grip back on his breathing, he gave a weary smile. "Sorry about that. Anyway, I had to get away from a pretty bad situation." Aki shrugged. "My Grandma has raised me my entire life, and she's getting into rather old age. She shouldn't have to take care of me anymore, so I transferred here from my old school in Japan."

Hikaru waited for Aki to regain his breath. After listening to his story about his grandmother he said to Aki. "Yeah it can be hard for grandmothers to raise another child... And sorry if this is too personal but what about your parents?" Hikaru looked back after opening the door to their dorm and gave an inquiring look.

Walking in the room first, he set down the box of posters by Hikaru's bed. "My Dad is, how do I put this..." he bit his lip. "A glorious b*****d. He killed my Mom after I was born. And I wouldn't say born so much as 'ripped out of her stomach.'" Walking to the side of his bed, he grabbed the tubing for his oxygen tank, wrapping the clear tube around his ears and placing the cannula in his nose. "Sorry about that--I have to be on oxygen if I'm walking around a bit." Taking a deep breath, he sighed at the relief the canned oxygen provided. "My Grandma didn't allow my Father to raise me, so she took me in."

Hikaru set down his box of art supplies and bit his lip uncomfortably. He didn't like how someone can be so cruel. "Well," He started after a pause. "I think this is a good change if that's the case. A good way to have a normal family of your own." He looked at his roommate then added. "Also I think that family is the people you surround yourself with. I mean everyone has relatives but family is different..." He laughs awkwardly at his explanation. "I don't even know if that made any sense.."

`•.¸¸.••´´¯``•• .¸¸.•´ `•.¸¸.••´´¯``•• .¸¸.•´ Aki nodded, bouncing up and down on his bed. "Don't worry, it made sense. And it is a great chance. I'm hoping for a fresh start." He sighed, a bit of a nostalgic look in his eyes. "I do miss Japan, though." As much as he hated his Father and disliked living with his Grandmother, he loved living in Japan, and was feeling incredibly homesick. "Speaking of, your name--it's Japanese. Are you from Japan as well?" It would have been nice to live with someone from home. Maybe he could even speak Japanese around the dorm! It wasn't that Aki wasn't fluent in English, his Father had ensured he knew how to speak multiple languages fluently, including his tongue, Romanian. But he hated the taste it left in his mouth and the memories he had of his Father, swatting at his hands when he got it wrong and changed his "l"s to "r"s.
