Kari wasn't buying it. This portal looked too good to be true, and the music that could be heard from it made her feel uneasy in a way that she couldn't quite put her finger on. She'd been there for nearly half an hour, watching various creeple travel in and out of the portal, some with looks of satisfaction while others wore looks of disgust. One thing was sure: whatever was on the other side wasn't as pleasant as the gently floating portal made it out to be.

Deciding to finally stop spectating, Kari strode over to the portal as it lazily floated towards her. She was able to slip through with ease, only to fall onto her butt upon exiting the portal in her effort to duck as something white flew over her head. Another followed soon after, prompting the ghoul to use her staff to whack the projectile away.

Looking down at the offending object, she grimaced at the sight of a motionless bird... a dove, if she recalled correctly. Out of the corner of her eye, another dove came flying towards her. As she dodged out of the way, she took in her surroundings: a wide doorless room with a single large bullseye.

"Oh... I really don't have to... ugh", Kari groaned, picking up the bird while taking no joy in its limp, boneless form. Did she seriously have to lob these at the target?

Taking a deep breath, Kari took her place at a line, a dove in hand, and took aim. Launching the bird, she flinched at the squelching sound it make as it hit the target. A 'ding' sounded in the distance, proving her previous assumption that she did indeed have to throw the lifeless birds at the target.

For once, Kari wished she was wrong...

Picking up her second bird, she aimed carefully, trying to ignore the various bloodstain remnants alongside her own fresh stain on the target. She watched the white bird land almost perfectly in the middle with a dull thud before flopping down onto the ground with her first dove.

Hopefully, she could keep this streak going and avoid lobbing more dead birds than she had to.

Taking aim once more, Kari grimaced as her bird started dipping partway through its arc. Luckily, it was able to stay on course long enough to hit the bullseye.

One down, a few more to go... hopefully.

With every bird that she threw, the ghoul felt increasingly uncomfortable. The music playing in the background certainly wasn't helping, creating a feeling of dissonance that made Kari question her choice to come here.

Still, she'd managed to get another bullseye, and the sooner she completed the strange game, the sooner she could leave.

Taking careful aim, Kari let her dove fly, its lifeless head bobbing around in the wind as it flew towards it destination. Upon hitting the target the fifth ding rang out, and the music suddenly came to a halt. It was such a jarring silence that it left Kari with an impending sense of dread. Had she done something wrong? Well, other than lobbing lifeless bird at a target against the wall. That was already fairly gruesome in its own right.

Looking around warily, Kari's eyes fell upon a small box. More chocolates? Upon closer inspection, the box contained not just chocolate, but strawberries dipped in them. Kari went slightly green at the sight of the white chocolate strawberry, finding its resemblance towards the doves a little too close.

Shutting the box and shoving it into her pocket, Kari noticed that the white portal had reappeared. Kari gladly leaped for the portal, glad to be done with that twisted game.
