The Lookout or the small area that they found to live in that contains the few necessities and is hidden and guarded.
Black Market had woken up rather groggily and walked in to the kitchen to grab something to drink. It had been about a week since they had finished moving in and yesterday was when all the equipment he brought over was finally set up and running, he had even made a new suit for his new partner. "Good morning."

Shadow had been awake for over an hour. The abandoned apartment building had really taken shape. It was much nicer than the house she had back home. Just thinking about the fact humans lived in building twice the size of their little space just shocked her.
"Morning 'Mark." That had become her nickname for him since she got tired of calling him BM. Even though he insisted she still refused. "Breakfast is almost ready. So go get cleaned up."
The idea of a 'family' meal was strange to her, but she figured it was an important part of human culture. The table was already set as she began to bring over the food. Brushing her bangs out of her face she quickly checked the gem on her forehead. It was really the only thing she had kept from home. They didn't keep pictures or art like the humans, but she wished they had.

Mark as she called him happily said hello and drank some of his drink and offered her a cup as he added some bread to the toaster. "I think I finally fixed the t.v. that you blew up a few days ago trying to... What again?" He asked with a grin and took a seat.
The two had their few problems, but got along rather nicely as they both had things they could use against each other like the fact that "Mark" had broke the heater she made just last week. It was nice and removed the awkwardness.

"I was trying to turn it on...the tvs where I'm from were quiet different." They weren't even called tvs, but the concept was the same. Shadow sat at the table and began eating breakfast.
"So what are you plans today? " She asked as she began eating her pancakes. They didn't have food like this back home, so she greatly enjoyed it. "By the way can you get me more of the box pancakes next time you go shopping?" She pretty much ate them for every meal now. It was after all the only thing she knew how to make. And since he had shown her how to add different ingredients she didn't see a reason to learn more recipes.

Mark thought about it for a second and yawned. He didn't really have plans right now, but who knows what would come up. "Sure I can grab more pancake batter, and I will also show you how to use the t.v later. Shouldn't take much to get it down. I think I can show you how to make some other things as well as the taste can get kind of bland after a while if all you eat is one thing.
"As far as plans go I am free right now, I didn't have anything planned unless you wanted to go do or see something." He was kind of curious to see how she would react to their culture, but thought it best not to push it on her.

"But I like the pancakes..." She sadly almost sadly as she poured on more syrup. Not wanting to part with her precious pancakes she quickly turned her attention else where.
"I guess you can show me around if you'd like..." She looked at him with the tilt of her head. "Though it would be weird for you to wear that mask in public...would you like me to enchant your hood?" The whole secret identity thing was beyond her, but he had told her it was important. Trying her best to fit in, she really didn't understand why they had to hid.
Then again hiding wasn't a bad idea. As she knew there was someone looking for her out there. She hoped they'd never find her here. After all her people had vowed to leave Earth to it's own devices. They didn't need to conquer anyone, but maybe that had lead to their down fall.

"It's good that you like pancakes, but I am sure you will like other foods as well. You just have to give them a chance. Also about the mask, wearing a hood in public makes you attract attention more then relieve it. I will just wear these instead." He says lifting up a pair of sunglasses. "As long as they don't come off we are fine."
He stretched and leaned over more towards her to listen in and smiled. "So is there anywhere in particular you would like to go? I know a few places around the city if you are not sure. Plus I will get to see things from the ground side instead of always being on the roofs."

"If you say so." Slightly disappointed he wasn't going to let her continue eating pancakes whenever she please. She looked at the glasses in his hands. He didn't trust her, not that she blamed him....still it made her miss home all the more.
"I think I'll pass on your offer, Mark." She finished her breakfast and placed her dishes in the sink. If she had to stare at that mask for one more minute she was going to rip it off him.
"You can't hold my hand forever. I think it's time I tried making friends." She grabbed her purse and looked at him once last time. "Call me if anything happens." With that she jumped off her balcony into the ally. Wrapping her arms around herself as she headed off with no direction in mind.
This planet made no sense to her. Then again these humans weren't use to powers like hers. Still she had been gifted back home, but no one felt the need to hide themselves. Never before had she felt trapped.
Deep down it hurt that mark refused to show her his face. They had been partners...maybe that meant something different here. she understood they wouldn't mate partners back home did. Home was gone though, and now she realized she would be the last of her kind.
"Stupid Mark and his stupid mask."

Mark sighed as she left by jumping off the balcony. If she wanted to go by herself that was fine, but she could have used the front door. He was now alone though and looked over at his projects he was working on, one of which was for her.
Standing up after finishing his drink he cleaned up the place so that she wouldn't come home to a mess. "I hope she is doing ok out there..." He says outload to himself. "Guess I will go shopping." Grabbing his bag he locks the place up, puts gis glasses on and heads towards the market.

A few days went by and Ceilia found herself spending less and less time at home. Mark couldn't help it, but every time she looked at him she thought back to her partner. Blaris had given his life for hers, and every time she saw Mark's mask it was all she could think of. So she avoided him more and more. For she wasn't sure how to explain to him what was wrong.
Her new human friends were currently in charge of helping her around the human world. Under the guise of a student from another country, she managed to get along with girls her human age. They had been very inviting, and she had learned many things from them.
"I'm going to a party tonight, so I'll be back late." Was all she had said to him as she ate breakfast that morning. She still chose pancakes as her main food source, especially after a traumatic experience with a plate of waffles.

Mark looked over at her as he ate his cereal. He tried to give her some different kinds of it several times, but for some reason she never took to it. He gave up and tried to feed her different foods along with pancakes every morning, but it seemed as though she was becoming distant as of late.
Mark had rarely seen her some nights and the parties were becoming more prevalent, crime had been low as of late so he couldn't really complain and she was an adult so it was not like he could tell her what to do, but he worried about her. "That's fine, just be careful out there. You have been staying out late more often and I know you can handle yourself, but I worry."

"I don't understand." She looked at him with a slight tilt of the head and a raised eyebrow. "How can you care for someone you don't even trust?" Another wave of confusion rushed through her. She didn't understand, no matter how badly she wanted to. Her friends had told of of the original superheroes...the Justice League?...That was it, but she didn't understand why they hid who they were. Lady Diana hadn't hidden behind a mask while acting as Wonder Woman.
Sighing she got up and grabbed her bag. She missed Blaris more than anything in this world. What would he have thought of this hiding of once's eyes. Ceilia stood on the balcony and looked back at him. "My friend told me I'm suppose to show up with a male. Something about a date? Do you know what that means?"

He was rather confused as she asked him her questions. "Do you think I don't trust you? We are partners, I don't see how I could not trust you if we work together." He did not know what she had meant and was trying to think if he had done anything or if she didn't trust him yet.
After a few seconds or so he focused on her second question about a date and it was kind of funny to think that she didn't know what it was so he guessed he would have to try and explain it. "Well a date is a person that you bring that will accompany you to the event that you if in terms of dating, like a lot, or in terms of social events just have as a good friend. It kind of depends really. Sorry if I am not that helpful."

"Where I come from we don't hid our faces from our partners. We don't hid anything from them." How could she make him understand how much that hurt her. "I guess you could even say our partners were the ones we went on dates with...we were very close..." She didn't know how else to explain it to him, but letting it out made her feel even more alone in this world.
"I'll be going...unless you wanted to join me?"

"Do you not understand why I wear a mask?... Think of what would happen if villains new who I was. They would hurt those I care about, my friends, family, and everyone else I know to get to me to kill me. It is not that I don't trust you it is that if I allow myself that luxary then I am allowing the possibility of something happening to them." He says trying to explain what all heroes on Earth knew, and most kept secret. Diana or Wonder Woman as Mark knew her did not need to wear a mask as all her friends, family, and anyone close to her were on an island away from all the evil of mankind.
"As far as the party goes, I need to do a patrol tonight so I can't. Maybe another time?" He says with a bit of sadness in his voice. He wanted to spend more time with her, but he could not just leave his superhero duties for fun all the time though he did mentally decide he would check up on her later that night.
