Breeding Center
At the breeding center, your character may drop off two pokemon, or arrange a pairing of one of their pokemon with another character's pokemon to get an egg. However you may only have one breeding pair per character at a time, reguardless of whether it's your own two pokemon or one with another character's.
The breeding center will care for up to five eggs for a trainer, so when you drop off a pair of pokemon, please quote a mod and indicate how many eggs you're looking to receive. It takes three days to produce an egg, starting from when the pokemon are dropped off. If you at any time wish for your pokemon to stay longer than you mentioned previously to try for more eggs, simply post again mentioning the change.
Pokemon dropped off at the breeding center need to have an owner, meaning you cannot drop off unclaimed pokemon at the breeding center. Eggs do not need to be claimed by the owners of the pokemon, they can be claimed by anyone as long as they have the RPer's permission, however until someone claims the eggs, the parents of the nest cannot be withdrawn. If you are picking up any eggs, post in here and quote a mod to let them know that the eggs have been claimed.
All eggs hatch at Level 5 and take 30 posts to hatch with the exception of Fakemon, which take 50 posts, and must be in your active party in order for those hatch posts to count.
Breeding Basics
-In for your pokemon pair to produce an egg, there must be one male and one female, they need to have at least one matching egg group, and be left there for three days.
-Dittos are a special case, they can breed with either gender, genderless pokemon, and any egg group except undiscovered.
-Pokemon of the undiscovered egg group cannot be bred.
-Genderless pokemon usually cannot breed unless they are paired with a ditto and have an egg group besides undiscovered.
-Eggs produced will always be the same species as the mother unless a male pokemon is bred with a ditto. This also applies to Alola form pokemon when breed with their Kanto form counterparts. The regional variant of the mother determines what the baby will be. In other words, if a female Alolan rattata breeds with a male Kanto rattata, the baby will be an Alolan form Rattata.
-When hatching a Nidoran, generate a number, evens means the nidoran is female, odds mean the nidoran is male. The same process goes for hatching a Volbeat or Illumise egg, evens means it's a Illumise, odds means it's a Volbeat.
-Legendaries cannot be bred, the only exception is Manaphy with a ditto to make Phione.
-Fakemon may only be bred with the permission of their owners.
Incense Breeding
Marill and Azumarill will hatch a Marill from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Sea Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Azuril.
Roselia and Roserade will hatch a Roselia from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Rose Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Budew.
Sudowoodo will hatch a Sudowoodo from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Rock Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Bonsly.
Wobbuffet will hatch a Wobbuffet from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Lax Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Wynaut.
Chimecho will hatch a Chimecho from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Pure Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Chingling.
Mantine will hatch a Mantine from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Wave Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Mantyke.
Mr. Mime will hatch a Mr. Mime from their Eggs unless either parent is holding a Odd Incense when they are bred, then their egg will hatch into Mime Jr.
Shiny Pokemon
If a shiny pokemon is being bred, there is a chance for the hatched pokemon to also be shiny. If one of the parents is shiny, there is a 1/20 chance of the pokemon hatched being shiny, a 20 means the pokemon is shiny. If both parents are shiny, there is a 1/10 chance that the hatched pokemon will be shiny, a 10 meaning the pokemon is shiny.
However, there is an item called a Luck Incense that boosts shiny pokemon chances. If a non shiny pokemon breeds with another non shiny pokemon while holding a Luck Incense, the chance of a shiny pokemon being hatched from the egg is 1/20, with a 20 meaning the pokemon is shiny. If a Shiny pokemon breeds with a non shiny pokemon with either pokemon holding the Luck Incense, the chance of a shiny pokemon being hatched from the egg is 1/10, with a 10 meaning the hatched pokemon is shiny. If two shiny pokemon are bred while holding a luck Incense, the chance of a shiny pokemon being hatched from the egg becomes 1/5, with a 5 meaning the hatched pokemon is shiny.
The chances to get shiny pokemon are NOT further increased if both parents are holding a luck incense, so you only need one parent to hold the Luck Incense to get the full effects of shiny breeding.
