Lovely Belrose stood back to admire the painting affixed to the wall in the community center's gallery, his hands planted on his hips and his head held high in a show of pride. The streaks and smears of black, gray, and red stood out among the other paintings—not for the talent behind the piece's creation, but for the absolutely deplorable workmanship.
Of course, Lovely himself could not see how bad it truly was. It was his creation, after all, and he was pleased with it. The Tortured Soul, he called it. Though the recent capture of a number of Senshi and Knights had revealed little int the way of information, it had certainly provided one Lieutenant with a bit of artistic inspiration.
There was no visible figure in the painting, but that was just as well. Lovely hadn't meant for it to be about anyone in particular. It was about a feeling, and he thought the mess of colors got that across rather well.
Unfortunately, many others who passed didn't share that same opinion. They were fortunate that Lovely was too full of pride to notice the looks of confusion on their faces. Otherwise, he would have shouted at all the ignorant fools for their inability to understand.
People in Destiny City sure were lacking in culture.

Vi was brimming with excitement! Today was a day he'd been looking forward to for the entire month now! Ever since tasked with the challenge of coming up with a piece of his very own, by his art teacher, he'd been alive with ideas and creative juices flowing through his veins nearly at a constant rate! There were so many options, so many mediums, so many paths he could go.... but he'd finally settled on something, and like Lovely, was quite proud of himself as well.
At the showing, he didn't stand by his own work, far too nervous of what others thought of it to stick around and see their faces for reactions, or listen to their whispered words amongst one another. Not having confidence in himself was a burden enough as is... he didn't want what little delight he'd taken in his piece to be smashed by anothers opinion... which would definitely be taken more to heart than his own. And so he toured around the building, checking out other peoples works, smiling blissfully, with his hands pocketed in his trusty deer hoodie. Shimmery silver eyes flickered back and forth to make sure nothing went missed, but were pulled in by the sight of a particularly... puffed up looking young man.
Vi cocked his head slightly, a smile wriggling on his lips that held amusement from the clear display of pride emanating from this other teen. What was he so pleased with? Casually strolling over, Vi went on and had a look for himself, staring up at the painting with interest. He'd peek between the piece, and the other boy, before finally speaking up, "Did you make this one, then?"

So caught up in his swell of pride was he that Lovely didn't notice the approach of another teenager until the sound of the other boy's voice attracted his attention.
Lovely turned his head just enough to get a look at his companion but found that he was hardly impressed by the figure beside him. Of course, Lovely was never impressed by anyone, so that was to be expected. Tossing his head in a pompous fashion to shake his blonde bangs out of his eyes, Lovely turned back to his painting with a smug look on his face.
“That is my name beneath it,” he said.
Indeed, on a small plaque beneath the painting were the words “The Tortured Soul, Lovett Belrose, Azure Valley Academy.”
“Lovely Belrose,” he introduced himself. He did not, however, offer his hand in greeting. He'd no idea yet whether or not this boy was worthy of the effort. “And you are?”

Rocking on the heels of his shoes a little, as he looked at the painting, his head tilted to try and get some semi-different angles, in order to maybe gain some different perspectives. He would glance to the other boy, only able to smile more at the clear display of pride and confidence, making him have to hold back a giggle.
With the reveal that this was indeed the creator of such a piece, he gave a little 'ahhh~' soft, but showing his awe, and appreciation, "I like it. The strokes are very unique." he complimented, "I can definitely see how the title fits with it." Vi wasn't one to bash another artists style, or point of views. That was the spectacular thing about art; anyone could express it how ever they saw fit!
Letting his silver gaze return to the other teen when the introduction was performed, he gave a cheery little smile in return, "I'm Hirvio, but you can call me Vi." he lifted a hand to point a thumb behind him, "My piece is back there, but.. I'm too nervous to stand by it." he admitted, with a soft chuckle. "plus I want to see all the great work everyone else did. Is this your first time doing one of these?"

Lovely took the other boy's name in stride. He nodded to show that he was paying attention but made no further effort to encourage interaction. Instead, he stood back and admired his own painting some more.
His smile widened and grew more smug at what seemed to be a compliment from the other boy. Other passersby might be giving the painting odd looks, but Lovely paid them no mind. If they couldn't appreciate his artistic genius, they weren't worth his time and attention.
Then again, very few people were worth his time and attention. It was an effort to seem at all interested as this Hirvio boy continued to talk.
“No, I've entered other showings,” he said. “Unfortunately no one appreciates a good abstract anymore. I've never won.”
It galled him to admit it, though he continued to hold his head high despite the disappointment.
“What school are you from?” Lovely asked. “I don't think I've seen you around Azure.”

His own eyes managed to trail off to those who were walking past, and giving their own thoughts on the painting via expression. Not... all too pleased, by the looks of it. A bit puzzled by the lack of interest from those around them, Vi started to pay them more mind, and see what they drifted to instead.
Lovely's additionally provided information made him all the more curious. To have entered many times, without recognition... that could be a bit disheartening. Offering a mild look of sympathy towards the other boy, he attempted to instead provide encouragement, "I'm sure you'll win someday. Maybe you just have to wait for the right venue to come around." perhaps that was the problem.
Letting his attention rest back on his newfound company, he pocketed his hands again, and rocked on his heels a little, "Oh! No, I go to Meadowview!" he did show a gleam of interest in his eyes, "You're from Azure, huh? That's pretty cool. I've heard that place is one of the best of the best."

Meadowview...
Admittedly Lovely knew very little about the other schools in the area, except that Hillworth was for scum and Crystal was where all the rich girls went. The rest of them he paid little mind to. He assumed Meadowview to be a mediocre place, since it didn't have quite the reputation the others could claim.
Lovely snorted at Hirvio's comment about Azure.
“I suppose for a place like Destiny City Azure seems like it would be the best,” he said. “I imagine it is, given the other choices, but it's hardly so impressive. I'd rather be homeschooled. Unfortunately my mother seems to think I should be properly socialized.”
He paused a moment, searching for something else he could say about his current school arrangement, before deciding he should be polite and at least feign interest in the other boy. After all, Hirvio had been kind enough to say nice things about his painting—which was more than Lovely could say for anyone else.
“What's Meadowview like?”

The dismissive sound made in regards to the coveted school made Vi raise his brows curiously. Perhaps he'd heard incorrectly...? Or maybe he was thinking of another school, and accidentally got the two mixed up. Quite a few of his teachers would rant, or grumble under their breaths about how much better it'd be should they work at Azure, and how better the pay was thanks to the rich kids who went their, and their loaded parents.
"Homeschooled, huh?" he let the idea roll around in his head awhile, mulling the idea over. "I'm not sure I'd want to be homeschooled. As much as I like being at home, I wouldn't get to meet people, or make friends." he paused, before sheepishly letting his eyes roll off to the side, "Though... I haven't really made any friends yet.." he murmured. Cliques seemed to have already been established before school had even started, and getting into them was... not so easy. Especially when you were a kid picked on, teased, or seen as some sort of weirdo. Vi wasn't sure what it was, but he seemed a prime target for such things.
"Wouldn't you miss making friends, and going on field trips and stuff?" he asked, "And there's so many activities, and clubs, and other things to try out." his smile returned, and his optimistic demeanor to boot.
With a question volleyed back to him, a hand lifted out of his pocket to comb through his silky tresses in thought, lips pursing somewhat, "Well, it's got a lot of different kinds of kids. And seems pretty normal and stuff. We've got dances, and festivals and all that. But... " his voice lowered, as he glanced around them, as though what he was about to say was taboo, "The food's not that great."

Lovely didn't really want to admit it, but he was having a difficult time with the social structure inherent of a high school—private or public, he assumed all were the same in that regard.
According to all the movies he'd seen, he should have been one of the popular students by virtue of the fact that he was both rich and good-looking, but so far his luck had no panned out. He wasn't necessarily picked on—if he was, he didn't pay enough attention to people to really notice—but most students tended to ignore him for one reason or another, either because they couldn't hope to compare to his brilliance (as Lovely assumed) or because they couldn't tolerate his attitude (which was probably closer to the truth).
“I don't care about making friends,” Lovely said. His expression shifted into a slight sneer. “Everyone seems to have already formed their little groups anyway. Trying to fit in would just be a waste of my time.”
He liked attention, but he wasn't the type to go around begging for it.
“I don't imagine Meadowview's much different in that regard,” he continued. “It seems Meadowview and Azure already have the poor quality of food in common. I'd rather eat cheap fast food than the pathetic excuse for meals they serve in the cafeteria.”

Sunshine Alouette apologies for the late and short reply. Trying to get back into the swing of things. Pale eyes widened slightly with surprise by the clear dismissal on the idea of friendship. But watching the other boy's face, he could see something familiar that he would often keep withheld. Well, at least he thought he was able to pick up on the jilted expression Lovely posed. Pocketing his hands into his hoodie, he leaned forward a little, on the balls of his feet, voice lowering a little, "Hey, there's gotta be some others out there who are outcasts too, right?" he tried to lightheartedly encourage, with a sweet smile. With a small pause, his lips lifted more, eyes bunching from his raised cheeks"I could always be your friend, if you wanted. Though I guess you'd have to get to know me better, before getting to that point." he laughed lightly, rocking back onto his heels.
Feeling quite in high spirits with these volleying of similarities, he couldn't help the little sing-songy tone in his voice, clearly infused with the good mood he was being fueled by, "Yeah, that stuffs usually way better tasting anyway." he giggled, excitement etched onto his face as he looked rather intently at the fancy boy in a sudden turn, "Say, what's your favorite fast food? a nice pizza always hits the spot, for me. With mushrooms, and spinach~" he hummed, eyes closing to envision such a delicious sight in his mind.
