Kallista strolled down the side walk humming to herself, if she had remembered correctly her brother had told her that The Bookwyrm was a good place to go buy new books and she needed a new book to read. She was done reading all her series she had and she felt that she needed a new series to start up. She flicked her hair behind her neck briefly and tucked a free spiriting strand behind her ear. She pushed opened the door to The Bookwyrm and looked around, there was so many books to choose from she wasn't sure where to start.
She hummed to herself as she looked around at the shelves of books, she didn't exactly have a genre in mind, maybe she could ask someone who worked here to recommend her a title or something. At least she hoped there was someone to recommend a title for her.

The store was pretty quiet so Quinn was browsing the aisles. It was one of the big perks of the job, that and the look on people's face when they step into the shop the first time. He knew he had the same look of shock and awe when he first came in... After all it's not every day when you find a store that was covered in themed trinkets for each book section. Quinn found out real fast what each section theme was and now could navigate the surprisingly large store with ease. He was in the art section reposing the miniature drawing mannequins when he heard the bell over the door chime. He finished the last figure, it was now in a funky dance pose, and headed towards the front door. Quinn quickly came upon a young woman with longish black hair. He smiled and greeted her, "welcome to The Bookwyrm. Can I help you find something?"

Kallista glanced at the young man that approached her once she had walked in "yes, you can. I'm looking for a new series to start reading since the ones i have i've already finished." She told him lightly. "Can you recommend any good series? I don't actually have a genre in mind that i would like to get into, most of the books i have at home are fantasy and select few are sci-fi" she explained to him.

StarshineAngel01 the store is a bit bonkers but its really fun XD “Ok so fiction is a pretty amazing section.” Quinn was more of a non-fiction kind of guy although he did have a bit of a secret fascination with scifi, mainly because the fantastical designs that are described in the books. He led the way, pointing out sections and interesting markers too like the stars hanging above the space area and the plastic food in cooking. It was an interesting trip to the back corner of the store where the fiction section was in its own little world practically. Taller shelves hid the space mostly from view and help form an informal room just for the section. "After you," he gestured indicating that the young woman proceed him. The space was best seen full force. Like the rest of the store the little 'room' was themed. The ceiling was painted to look like the sky, there was even a rainbow in one corner. Plastic dragons and Pegasus hung so they looked like they were flying. Book ends were not the typical metal things but figures of princesses and mythical beasts, spaceships and time machines, dolls and stuff animals. Each 'bookend' helped denote a section although some of the lower shelves had gotten a bit mixed up as the kids came in and played with them. "So what have you read lately that you really like?" He said it softly so not to disturb any of her thoughts... It really did tickle him silly to see what people's reaction to Jessie's store was.

Kallista nodded her head lightly showing that she was listening to what he was saying. She shifted her gaze to the neat little markers above each section "having markers with the theme of the section is really smart and helpful" she told him, liking the idea of the themed markings of each section. She tucked another loose strand behind her ear as she followed him around the store.
She walked into the back corner and looked around at the shelves of books, she could see why this book store was the best one to go to. She could get use to coming to the store for new books and the young man seemed really nice. She thought about it a few minutes before answering his question "Well, lets see stories with strong female leads and a good story line" she told him.

StarshineAngel01 ((ill link the books if you want later and i personally love all of the books so ^^' check them out if you havent already)) Quinn wasn't familiar with the genre but since his boss was he did know of a few authors to suggest. "Well I know my boss likes Tamora Pierce, Jessie has even gone so far to set up calendar dates for her book releases." He shrugged. That much of an extreme seemed pretty out there but Quinn could understand to some degree since he noted the dates of the releases of his favorite singers new CDs. "She also really likes Mercedes Lackey' 500 Kingdoms series" he had indicated the two different shelves for the authors. Pierce was a young adult author so was closer to the kids books while Lackey was more adult like in its content so was more on the adult side of the shelves. A soft ringing reached Quinn's ears prompting him to excuse himself to get the phone. He made it back up to the front of the store and found that it was Jessie on the other side. After a few moments of talking he returned to the fiction section with a broad smile. "That was the owner and she actually gave me a lot more suggestions for you." He fished out a piece of scrap paper and began to read off it, "Patricia c. Wred's enchanted forest series and thirteenth child series. Nora Roberts' keys of light trilogy and Born in trilogy. She wanted me to mention however that Roberts is romance, atypical romance, but romance none the less. They will actually be on the other side of the shelves" He looked up at the girl and shrugged and indicated the shelves just outside of the fiction 'room'. "There are several other series and books on here but the one she made me star," he showed her the page where one name truly was marked with a star. "It is two series, same universe by Patricia Briggs. She said to stress that both series are supernatural but are 'freaking-fantastic' and at least check out the blurb on the back of the book. The first series is the Mercedes Thompson books and the second is Alpha and Omega."

Fiction1119 I've only ever read one Patricia Briggs series Kallista quietly contemplated all the recommendations "so many, hard to choose where to start" she told him with a light laugh. She tapped her chin quietly with a finger as if contemplating which one to start with "perhaps I'll just choose one author read all the series they have written and then move onto the next author" she said but that was hardly ideal she hadn't the space to store all of them.
She glanced over at the young boy "I graciously thank you for your help and the owner's help, it was insightful. So perhaps I will start with the author Mercedes Lackey, any books you would recommend to read first from that author?" she asked him politely.

StarshineAngel01 I ADORE this 'world' and while technically it is two different series i do think of it as one large one much like Mercedes Lackey's valdemar series Quinn internally winced. If the girl was looking for one series to read before moving on lackey was not the best since she had a couple of hundred books under her belt.... Or at least it seemed that way to him. He chose to ignore the fairly archaic way she thanked him, cracking jokes at the customer's expense was normally a way to get fired or at least lose a sale. So instead he focused on the topic at hand. Quinn shoved the list into his pocket as he walked over to the appropriate shelves. "Lackey is a pretty prolific writer," he gestured to the two full shelves of only her books, "but the ones that I would go for first is the 500 kingdoms books." He quickly pulled The Fairy Godmother from the shelf. Absently mentally blessed Jessie's system of ordering books once it gets down to authors. Unlike traditional methods Jessie had all the books by the same author ordered numerically in a particular series so it was easy to tell which book was first vs which was third. "Each book is basically stand alone with only cameo of previous characters but by reading in order you get a more complete understanding of the series world. Each is a retelling of a twisted fairy tale so that adds an extra amusement trying identify the stories as well as the changes." His mother loved to tell him the classic stories when he was little boy so this was really a series he read and found quite enjoyable.

Kallista frowned a little inwardly, this wasn't starting to be a good first impression, she wondered how her brother managed to pull off good first impressions, she would need to ask him. She lightly brushed a stray strand from her face.
She followed him over to the appropriate shelves and glanced at the shelves curiously, she pulled out a book and read the summary on the back, that story sounded interesting. She lightly brushed her finger tips on the spines of the books until she found one that jumped out at her, in the process she was acknowledging what he was telling her "so basically in a way like alternate universes from the original universe" she said, this was not turning out to be a well planned outing that made her frown a bit.Fiction1119 She sucks at coming up with feedback

StarshineAngel01 book link, yeah sadly quinn isn't as knowledgeable about books as jessie is ^.^' get him talking about buildings and he would go all day but fiction books *shrugs* not so much Quinn hummed uncertainly. This really was a genre he knew little about even if the series is one his mom liked. "The way it was explained to me is, what happens to the people who's life fits a story but their 'prince' just doesn't work. Like if Cinderella's prince was too young or old, a girl or a guy who is into guys... What happens to Cinderella?" He shrugged and added, "I haven't really read it myself. I like more history and architecture books. I only read fiction when I'm looking for ideas for buildings." Quinn wished he knew what to tell the girl but unlike Jessie he just wasn't terribly familiar with the whole fiction genre. He mentally went through the books he remembered and had a light bulb moment. With a wide smile he quickly extracted a large book from a just a few shelves over. "It's sci-fi but I have read it and I love the descriptions and the whole idea of it. Like Lackey it's a retelling of Cinderella but what if she was a cyborg and it's set seriously far into the future." He held Cinder by Marissa Meyer out to the girl. "This is the first of four and I think the next one will be out soonish." He shrugged and smiled ruefully. He had read the first one and even the second but hadn't yet read the third or the short story that was just published.

Kallista lightly took a book from him "That story sounds intriguing" she said to him as she flipped it over to read the summary on the back. Hmm...this would be an interesting book to read, she might have to read then see what her thoughts were on the matter, she glanced at boy. It seemed like a name was in order, she didn't feel right calling him the bookstore boy. She thought about it before she inquired "I feel, that I should get your name. Since it would not do me any good to call you boy from bookstore, it sounds so rude in a way" she said.
"If you feel a name isn't necessary then that is okay, perhaps we can formally be introduced when I come in next time" she told him. She lightly held the book in her hands. Her brother was right this was a excellent book store to come to, she would need to come visit more often.

Quinn chuckled. For some reason the idea of being called 'the boy from the bookstore' amused him. It was better than some of the things he was called at least. "Nah, I don't really stand on formalities... Unless it squishes them." It was a bad joke and one that very few would even get but his smile showed that he wasn't making fun of her. "The names Quinn. Sadly I'm just a book pusher around here. Got a question about buildings or photos I can help you but fiction just isn't my thing." He shrugged and looked around the bright and colorful space. "If you really want to know about this section you should come back when the owner is here. Jessie practically lives in this section she knows it that well." And she would totally tell you about every book they had stocked and most they didn't, he mentally added. Quinn loved his boss, he really did, but one of the first things he learned to avoid was to ask what books she would recommend. He sometimes wondered if that lady lived more in the worlds from the books then in real life.

Kallista nodded her head thoughtfully as she listened to him speak "Ah...Nice to meet you Quinn, I'm Kallista most people call me Kalli" she told him. She contemplated what he said before speaking up "So..If I asked you, what is the best place to get something to eat, you would be able to tell me that?" she asked him curiously. She decided that she would make it a mission to get to know the guy.
"I'll keep that in mind, I believe my Brother knows her but he hasn't seen her recently and I haven't met her yet" she told him truthfully. As far as she was concerned the owner of this book store was an acquaintance to her brother. She lightly tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"Nice to meet you too Kalli," Quinn smiled. He treated her question to a few moments of thought before shrugging, "depends on what you're looking for. There's a pretty good dinner a few blocks that way," he gestured towards the back of the store. "It's got a pretty good selection. There is a fantastic sandwich shop off of DCU campus and a really good sushi place down in the city." He bounced around the city for his class as well as his hobby so he had eaten in a lot of small little holes in the wall as well as more typical places. He heard the bell above the door ring, signaling another customer coming in. "Come on up to the front so we can take care of the books, if you're ready that is." At the mention of her brother Quinn wondered if he had met him. Quinn wasn't the primary employee but he had been picking up more hours between classes. "What's his name. I might have run into him here. Jessie's been dealing with some personal stuff so she hasn't been around lately." He shrugged, trying to look nonchalant but a flash of worry played over his face. She was a good boss and he would like to say friend so seeing her so withdrawn from her shop did worry him quite a bit.

Fiction1119 we should rp Trevor and Jessie, we haven't rped them in a while Kallista smiled back at him. "Do you know the name of the diner? I would like to go check it out sometime" she told him. She thought about his suggestions "I shall add them to my list of Places to visit in Destiny City" she said with a light laugh. She nodded her head and followed him to the front of the store "sounds like a good idea" she told him. "His name is Trevor and he attends DCU" she told him. She hadn't met Jessie yet and her brother probably had decided he didn't want his little sister to start hanging out with him but, she felt it would be nice to meet Jessie, she sounded like a nice person.
