Spring Showers
Prompt 1

Solo or RP Format
Can be used toward Solo or RP req

After the frigid chill of the harsh winter had left Tendaji, it seemed that most were happy to just return to their normal routines, though the normal routine didn’t seem to be what the weather had in mind. It wasn’t long before almost everywhere noticed the way that the winter air had seemed to push precipitation onto the land in its place. Rain flowed seemingly non-stop, reaching all the areas of Tendaji, even frozen Zena saw its share of rain, though the temperatures were still much too cold to support such a thing and rain turned to hail, which froze over the ground.

The critters of Tendaji only wanted to seek shelter from their flooded homes and the wet downpour that surrounded them. They found their way into homes, huts, sheds, anywhere that could stay dry - and preferrably warm.

Hestia curled up on her side as she rolled over, hiding her face from the rising sun. She groaned softly, gripping the covers and pulling them over her head, determined to ignore the rest of the world, just for a little longer.

"Should we wake her?"

"She'll grab us! No!"

"But I'm hungry!"

The sounds of the triplets caused her to groan again, though she still didn't move, feigning sleep as her little brother inched over to her as the girls cried out again. She sprang suddenly when he was near, grabbing him and pulling him to her as she tickled him. He cried out, laughing as the girls let out squeals and were grabbed up as well.

"Can't you guys ever let me sleep in." She grumbled this as she stopped tickling them, her eyes looking down at her siblings. They smiled up at her and Enkil spoke first.

"But we are hungry and you are the only one home!" Hestia sighed softly as they all nodded their heads. She motioned for them to get up so she could and she followed them slowly down from the upstairs and into the bottom floor.

A week ago their mother had left to go on a hunt, she hadn't been on one for a while and she had felt it was time to go again. This left Hestia alone taking care of her younger siblings as their father and her older brother were also gone. Dagda had been gone for three months now on a treasure hunt while their father was travelling doing his own job as a merchant. Hestia was brought out of her brooding of her ill fate of having to take care of three rambunctious younglings on her own when she heard all three of them cry out.

"IMPAS!"

Hestia jerked her head up to see her siblings running towards a pack of Impas that had wandered into their home. It had been raining nonstop for quiet some time now and it seemed this pack of Impas had had to find a new place to stay so they could stay warm.

She stood still as she watched her younger siblings running around chasing some of the younger Impas, her mind completely blank at the moment. She didn't know what to do, she wouldn't feel right throwing them out into the rain. Tanith, Hestia's alol wandered over to her and climbed up onto her shoulder, the rain didn't bother her much, but the loud sounds of the Impas did. Hestia turned her head to look at the alol. "Well, what do you suggest I do?"

"You should probably find something to feed them." With her mind already blank, Hestia stared at Tanith for a moment, as if she had spoke, though hearing the kids cry mother brought her to her senses. Hestia turned and saw the three of them clinging to their mother and she looked sheepish as she walked over. "It's alright Hestia, this was bound to happen when we get so much rain in the desert. If we feed them, they won't cause too much trouble, but lets move them into the stable with the rest of the animals." Hestia nodded and moved into the kitchen, grabbing some food and leading the pack of Impas to the stable where her mother kept the rest of her animals. As she did this, she listened to her siblings chanting Impas and a mixture of food, causing her to chuckle softly to herself. She was very glad her mother had returned home when she did.

Watching the group of Impas in the stable, Hestia smiled softly to herself. She felt eyes on her and turned her head to see Enkil standing there, watching the creatures as well. She motioned to her little brother to come over to her side and she sat down as the youngling sat in her lap.

"Do you think Momma will let me keep one?"

Hestia followed Enkil's eyes towards some of the Impas and she shook her head some. "Mom might if they didn't need to go back home." She watched Enkil pout and she chuckled softly, starting to tickle the boy. Enkil giggled and thrashed in his sisters arms before he looked up at her, his eyes large.

"How did you decide on what you want to work towards?"

Hestia paused some, trying to figure out how she respond to that. She remembered having asked Dagda the same thing when she was younger.

"Well, I've always helped momma with the animals, but I don't want to do exactly what she does. I want to be able to protect all of you." She lightly poked Enkil's nose as she said this. "Becoming a lancer and eventually a rider will allow me to do both of those things. I'll get a mount, probably a janarim like mom's as well."

Enkil continued to watch his sister, taking in her words, and she wondered if she had an impact. There was no telling what any of her younger siblings would go into, but it seemed as if Enkil followed after her a lot in that he cared for the animals. Beast Charmer or Master might be what he ended up becoming.

Standing up and taking Enkil in her arms, she smiled at her brother. "No matter what you chose, just chose what your heart tells you. Now come on, lets go get some food." A giggle was her response as the two of them went back into the house.
