Personality:
Riley has way too much energy, and it shows in a bunch of different ways. Mainly, she does stuff without thinking. She also doesn't tend to think about how others are feeling since she's so engrossed in what she's doing. Though she is really friendly, she just tends to assume everyone's happy and having fun -though she isn't more trusting than she should be. She has matured somewhat on her journey, growing past her insecurities and curbing her impulsiveness.
History:
As a kid Riley had plenty to do in Twinleaf town, but as she got older she started to get bored. For a couple years her parents were able to placate her with family trips and vacations, but soon they couldn't keep Riley at home any longer: she was determined to have her very own Pokemon adventure.

S E U L the Absol
Riley's longtime companion and first pokemon. They met when Riley was on vacation in Hoenn and Seul saved her from a rockslide. Though he isn't happy about it when she puts herself in danger, he doesn't mind watching over her.

The first pokemon Riley ever caught, Zeke started as a little zubat.
He loved to sit on Riley's shoulder, and even though he's a huge crobat now he still loves to get hugs and snugs from Riley.

Hubble grew up in the cave hidden below the Sinnoh bike path. He didn't know it until Riley found him, but he wanted to leave the cave and see the world. He loves traveling and eating lots of yummy things. He has an earnest nature and likes to be praised by Riley. Despite his rough skin, he is always hoping for a pet from her.

J O U R N A LTHE JOURNEY BEGINS...
Riley leaves her home town of Twinleaf for Sandgem Town to begin her journey with her longtime friend Seul the Absol at her side. After receiving a Chimchar, Mochi, from Professor Rowan, she went outside to get to know her knew pokemon. She'd just barely caught a Zubat, dubbed Zeke, before a rude boy showed up and demanded a pokemon battle. His Piplup trounced her Chimchar, and though Seul fought the Piplup off easily -giving it a nasty scar over its eye in the process- Riley felt like a loser anyways.
AT THE EDGE
Riley, her failure weighing heavily on her, declared Seul should leave her, since he was obviously better off without her weakness. She runs off, making her way to the dangerous mountains that separate Jubilife City from Oreburgh. Climbing to precarious heights to battle and grow stronger, a sudden rock slide tossed her off the path. Seul appeared, saving Riley. The girl vowed to not be selfish from then on, and to grow stronger.
TURNABOUT BATTLE
Riley trains with determination, adding a golden Shinx Nima to her party and going out of her way to track down some heart scales to prepare her pokemon for battling their first gym leader. After a bit more training in the Oreburgh mines, just outside of which she caught a Buizel named Noel, Riley decides to take on Roark the gym leader. She defeats him using Mochi, Zeke, and her own power. As a reward, her parents sent her the blue Electrike, Niko. On her way back to Jubilife, Riley once again encounters the boy with the Piplup, now a Prinplup. This time Mochi, a Monferno, is victorious. The boy ran off, cryptically upset.
THIEF
After a trek through Eterna Forest, Riley finds herself taking a detour to Crown City after a mysterious Rapidash rider and the clothed red figure chasing him. In an empty museum she finds them, a Red Lucario and cloaked man, fighting. With Seul injured, Riley relies on Niko, evolved into a Manectric, to stop the cloaked man while the Lucario battles a Mega Charizard X. Riley manages to recover a sack the man was carrying filled with stolen goods and a pokemon egg, but when the Charizard finished off Lucario she finds herself quickly overwhelmed. The man takes Nima and Noel's pokeballs and disappears before she passes out.
A NEW ALLY
Riley awakens in the hospital. Soon after Officer Jenny arrives to get information on what happened in the museum. Riley is tortured to realize Nima and Noel are gone, though she has been left with the man's stolen items and a mysterious pokemon egg. As soon as she is out of the hospital, Riley hurries to the museum to look for clues. While Seul is inside investigating, Niko picks up a scent. Riley follows, and it leads them to an indoor garden full of exotic plants and dense trees. There they meet the cloaked man. A fierce battle ensues, Riley, Niko and Mochi versus the man's black mega Gardevoir, Chandra. The Lucario arrives mid-battle, smashing through the roof of the garden, but it is too late. The man escapes with the egg, and Riley is no closer to retrieving Niko and Nima. The man does seem to have an interest in Riley, however, and the Lucario, naming himself Kuraz, announces he will travel with Riley in order to find the man and retrieve the egg he stole. Kuraz reveals the man's name to be Mael, a former aura user.
THE LONG HAUL
Riley realizes she is no match for Mael in her current state. She decides to train, traveling and challenging gym leaders to grow stronger, strong enough to challenge him and win. Her first stop is the Eterna City gym and its leader, Gardenia, whom she beats soundly with Mochi, an Infernape now. At the base of the bike path, she captures a dragon pokemon, Hubble the gible, knowing that he has great potential to become a strong ally. Riley then turns her gaze towards the mountains, and what lies beyond...
A GHOSTLY ENCOUNTER
Riley pushes herself and her pokemon to the limit, training and battling tirelessly until she has acquired both the Fen and Cobble badges. She hastens to Hearthome on the back of Zeke the crobat to continue her journey, but a terrible thunderstorm forces them to take shelter in a sprawling mansion near the city. Something about the place puts Seul on edge. In the night an old woman comes knocking, and cloaks the room in shadows. Seul attempts to attack her, but in a rush of darkness both he and Riley are transported to an old house. The storm has stopped, though the house before them is clearly haunted. A woman out front welcomes them, offering treats, and although Seul has reservations Riley enters to explore. The house is filled with ghosts, which makes for an excellent training ground to prepare Seul for the Hearthome gym. But one pokemon that is not a ghost lashes out with a powerful psychic attack. It is a small ralts, and though it is afraid and abandoned, it takes an almost instant liking to Seul. Though it fears Riley, she catches it and names him Vanyel. Together they leave the house, waking in her room in the mansion as if no time had passed. The only proof of their journey is the small blue-headed ralts nestled in Seul's fur.
THE DISTORTION WORLD [1] [2]
The storm has passed, and Riley flies to Hearthome for her fifth gym battle. With Seul's strength she is able to win. Now that she has grown stronger, her thoughts turn again to finding Mael and saving Noel and Nima. She manages to sneak information out of the Officer Jenny from Crown City: Mael has been spotted near Oreburgh in the south. Though Jenny warns her not to take action, Riley is determined. Kuraz tells her more about his past, signaling a change in their relationship. Before they can journey south, however, a dark portal appeared and sucked them in.
Riley and her pokemon find themselves in a dark world where gravity is topsy-turvey and buildings float in the middle of a bottomless void. It is the distortion world. The inhuman place scares Riley, and despite all her training she travels with fists clenched tight in Seul's fur. She explores the empty houses, fearful she'll never find a way home. In a stroke of luck finds another human that was sucked in like her. The woman, dressed like a pirate, has no time for Riley. She has come to this world chasing a pokemon as enigmatic as this place itself: unown. Despite warnings, Riley is desperate to not be alone and follows. The woman, named Scarlett, relents to being followed when she sees how scared Riley is.
Unfortunately, the unown Scarlett was hunting also took notice that Riley was a scared child. The psychic pokemon picked up on her fears and latched onto her as host, promising to grant her deepest wish. Riley, who just wants to go home, is whisked high into the void where the unown create a forested shore around a lake. They appear by Riley's side as a fake Seul, taking over her mind. Below this paradise Riley's pokemon look on in terror, unsure what has happened. Scarlett, who knows the pokemon's ways, sets off at once to rescue Riley. Seul and Mochi hurry upwards as well, though the unown have taken Riley's other pokemon and brainwashed them. They guard the only entrances to the sealed psychic dome where Riley is kept.
As Scarlett, Mochi and Seul fight the gatekeepers, inside the dome Riley senses something isn't right. Her feelings are compounded when Vanyel, who managed to make it inside the dome, appears but doesn't act the way she expects. He runs away, desperate to find Seul, the real Seul, for the one by Riley's side feeds her lies. To get Riley to stay, the fake Seul grants another wish- Riley wants her mom. As Scarlett aproaches the unown attack her full force, hypnotizing her into believing she is Riley's mom (which was not easy). The two fall into the illusion, but just as the fake Seul begins to lead them astray a sound pierces the air, like nails on a board. The real Seul, who has broken through the barrier, uses perish song. The discordant notes bring Riley and Scarlett back to their senses.
The connection with the unown is broken, but they have already grown strong on Riley's dreams. The lake at the center of the illusion explodes, leaving only an empty crater with the unown circling violently above it. Riley reunites with the real Seul, but they are still in danger, until Vanyel arrives with a small stone in hind. Seul harnesses the stone's power and transforms, gaining enough power through mega evolution to beat back the unown. Still they grow stronger, and it's all they can do to keep the psychic swhorl at bay. Riley notices the fake Seul nearby, and though she is angry at the unown for tricking her, she thanks it anyways for trying to make her happy. The unown construct smiles and disappears.
A moment later, a great voice booms. Giratina, lord of the distortion world, is not happy at intruders in his domain. The unown, Scarlett, and Riley freeze. With a great bout of power they are all sent tumbling through portals back the way they'd come.
ONE RED-HEAD LEAVES, ANOTHER ARRIVES
