Kane felt sick and it wasn't the swell of the waves that made him feel so. Again, for the umpteenth time, he was forced to run a mission that didn't have him safely and contently seated at a computer desk typing away on a keyboard. It seemed inevitable they were going to push him out into the field more because he was simply a trainee and the tech branch had enough brains to go about upholding their server, but at the same time, Kane didn't care.

The public world was scary.

His task this time wasn't too bad, though. He just had to apprehend and down a Team Magma ship headed for the shores of Zatao just brimming with new recruits with a partner he had no idea about. Fiddling with his glasses, he slumped over the boat taking him to the drop-off location in dismay.

Dear Arceus, please don't give me off today, he thought to himself as he pressed his face to the boat's railing. I'm too young for this. Too young.

He at least hoped his mission partner wasn't as hung up as he was over this.
