I'm a few days early...so sue me : P

It was a rather pesky holiday. One which in the outside world was marked by an overabundance of flowers, red, and chocolate. Claude never cared for it, of course. It was another day, really. Here on Deus, however...it was something of a new opportunity...

To troll.

That's how it started, anyways.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 09, 2015 11:49 am

To Jack

It started at one Green Giant's desk, at some ungodly hour when she was certain he, or anyone else for that matter, wouldn't be coming around. It had struck her one day, that defacing Jack's desk on this day would truly be one of the best pranks she could pull all year. Especially after that beautiful post it number he did on her door. The one catch about this prank, though...was that she was to be as anonymous as possible.

Secret admirer gig.

That's why she was messing with his desk at an ungodly hour.

Upon arrival, Jack would every square inch of the surface of his desk covered with roses. There were so many roses piled on, many threatened to spill over the edge. On the middle of the pile was a simple note, that looked like a ransom note with its pasted on letters from what appeared to be newspaper clippings. It was a poem, and it read:

Quote:
Blood is Red
Bruises are Blue
Green is the color of Envy
Until I have You.

Anonymous, of course. This whole set up was outside the realm of how she usually operated in regards to vandalizing Jack's desk, so hopefully he wouldn't catch onto her. Too quick, anyways. To further throw suspicion off herself, Claude left a simple hand written sticky note attached to Jack's chair that read:

Quote:
I was going to desecrate your desk in the name of St. Valentine...but someone beat me to it.

She was rather pleased with herself.

Well Then

After leaving the crime scene, Claude arrived back in her room and took inventory from her Valentine's Day troll stock.

She still had an arm full of roses left over.

She placed as many as she could onto Jack's desk, as reasonably possible, and yet despite that, she still had some. The trainee pondered what to do with them. She could keep them, of course. Let them sit on her desk until they withered away and would be thrown out to sea...or...

Hm.

She could get rid of them. Nicely, get rid of them. The pleasant thought of dropping one off to Lex seemed nice. From that one thought, it expanded to dropping one off for Chance for fun, and then from there she could give one to Dawson along with the bracelet she got for him, and then from there--

It expanded, and it wasn't entirely an unpleasant idea. It also seemed to hit a few birds with one stone.

To Dawson

On the door knob leading to his room, Dawson would find one rose tied to a bracelet, along with a small note:

Quote:
In return for the deer figurine.

To Abbi

Claude stood in front of Abbi's door for quite some time. She pondered the consequences of giving the spazz of a girl a rose on Valentine's Day...anonymously none the less, since she wasn't going to leave a note with this one. She pondered it for a few long moments before she decided: what the hell.

The trainee tied a rose along with a few pieces of coin chocolate to the door knob of Abbi's room with a ribbon, and left it at that, continuing on her way.

To Horace

This was maybe another troll...no, it most definitely was. Tied to the doorknob leading to his room, Horace would find a single rose, and a small, simple folded note. When the note was unfolded, there was only one thing on it. It was a pirate thing.

For people who were in trouble.

To Jack

A long stare was levelled at the new level of invasion to his desk.

Several possible perpetrators came to mind. He considered Chel for a split second, but she was easily discarded: she didn't have the patience, finesse, or drive to actually write anything down with proper spelling. He wouldn't put it past several coworkers to prank him like this either...But ultimately, Claude was the most likely suspect, in spite of her own signed note, because who honestly had enough time on their hands to want to do this to him specifically?

The alternative was just that he had a new and slightly creepy stalker, and that bothered him just as little as Claude's probably vandalism. He treated it like just another step in their game, took a photo, and trashed the roses at his convenience. Only several were spared for the sport of plucking their petals off one by one, each rubbed between his fingers to remember the sensation of it before they joined the rest. Both notes were unceremoniously dumped as well, with his own response on a plain sticky note already available at the desk.

You can buy a s**t load of roses just fine but complained about buying your own office supplies?

To Jack

Claude had clucked her tongue upon getting that note. Jack was too damn quick for his own good. Oh well. She still found amusement in it.

She, in turn, left another note on his desk, but this time it was folded.

When Jack unfolded the note--

A small handful of blue glitter mixed with small glitter stars fell out, getting all over everything.

The note read:

Quote:
Reasons.

P.S. Now pick this s**t up.

To Jack

He should have ******** known. Jack made a disgusted noise as the glitter spilled forth and forgot himself for a moment as he tried to dust it off his pants. Then he realized what his knee jerk reaction had costed him when he looked at the glittering galaxy he'd created on his palms.

This was going to be a long day.

After sweeping up what was left and then cleaning himself off the best he could until he could take a shower later, he left just one note again.

It begs the question of whether or not this is some juvenile attempt to show your affection for me or if you're just being a poor sport about our spar. (A smeared : ( face in partial glitter could be made out).

To Abbi

"HEY!!!!" The shout came out as booming as a small, yippy dog would have been able to produce, but no less loud and attention grabbing.
Abbi stood at the end of the hallway, both hands on her hips as though that would help project her already loud voice all the way down to the person currently shuffling around in front of her door. At least, she was pretty sure it was her door. There was the cutesy lilac wooden sign that hung off it, indicating that it was ~*Abbi Killian*~'s room.

A small hop forward brought her into a sprint, which given her normal propensity for jogging, brought her much closer to the culprit than she expected.
"What's the big idea? Tryin' to break into a girl's room like this! Why I oughta--" All her threats were pretty hollow, mostly puffing up in the best way she knew how. There was no way to make her hair any bigger, which now that she thought of it would have been the best move given how brightly colored it was, but alas, no time.
"Isn't right-- Not anything good in there anyways-- Trust me, I tried the hair pin trick-- What are you doing--"
And then, just as the calm after a whirlwind is sudden and clear, so too was Abbi's demeanor.

For a long moment she was quiet, peering with wide blue eyes at the person she'd caught before she finally spoke.
When she did, it was bright and chipper and free of any judgement from the previous thing she'd seen the woman attempting.
"Hiya Claude!"

To Chance

Claude didn't believe in those tacky holiday cards, but she needed something to be a container, so she made her own (and by making her own, it was more personal). It was a piece of card stock folded. On the front, she exercised the extent of her artistic ability and drew some stars with a red pen, and then wrote a small message on the inside. The card was then tucked into a handmade envelope. She didn't leave the stuff on the door knob, because she knew he left his door unlocked often enough, so she left the items on his desk.

The envelope containing a card, a single red rose (because she had plenty more to get rid of still), and a few pieces of coin chocolates.

Upon opening the card, a line read:

Quote:
Chance:

You dazzle me.

It was then a large handful of blue glitter combined with small silver and blue glitter stars fell out of the card, getting all over everything. The message in the card continued:

Quote:
Do I dazzle you?

To Oliver

Upon returning to the door of his room, Oliver would find a single red rose and some coin chocolates tied to the door knob. In addition there was a small note folded along with the items as well. It was written in a simple cursive script, but didn't have a signature.

The note read:

Quote:
Give yourself more credit.

To Oliver

It was very late at night when the boy finally got back to his room, and by that point he was so sleepy that he took one look at the valentines token tied to the door knob and walked right past it. Naturally he assumed it was someone else's room, and someone else's token. Two doors further down, and he found himself very confused over the numbering system and his sudden inability to locate his own room.

But sure enough, when he returned to his door he was indeed able to identify it as his own door. His next thought was that someone else must have been mistaken, but that simple note seemed remarkably direct. Like it could have been for him after all. With those anonymous tweets he had gotten earlier in the evening, it was a bit easier to believe someone was thinking of him.

Maybe it was because of the late hour, but he swallowed against a lump forming in his throat as he read the little note over again. Freeing the rose, chocolates, and note from the door knob, he retreated inside before the warm feeling of being cared about brought him to tears in the hallway.

to chance

It was plenty easy to tell who the card was from, because even without the signature of her name, Chance knew that neither Finn, nor Ripley, was the type to send anything on this holiday in particular, and Oliver was too shy to do such a thing - which left only one possible culprit.

The glitter did, in fact, get everywhere - all over Chance's desk, his hands, in the crevices of his jeans, and across the floor at his feet like some sort of cheerful stain of shiny blue and silver. He gave it an amused look and pulled out a sheet of paper to reply.

Claude would find a letter of her own tucked into the edge of her doorframe.

"Dazzle" is such an objective word. You do certainly provide me with at least some sort of entertainment. And you're fun. smile

I'll wait and see if you can get to the dazzling stage.

-C

At the bottom of the note was a sketch of Claude, dressed as a pirate, sitting astride a star like it was a horse and brandishing a bottle of glitter in one hand and a mug of rum in the other. It was fairly ridiculous, but he'd had fun with it, at least.

There was also a little red square of card stock that had the words "to be redeemed for any favor from chance bones" scrawled messily onto it.
