Still not sufficiently healed from his stabbing to concern himself with finding new things to steal or getting revenge, Serr continued spending his days wandering the streets and forests of Yera, careful to keep out of range of the more lawful sorts. Had he held onto the dress he had inadvertently borrowed from Andly, he might have worn it as a disguise, but it had long since been left behind. Instead, he had liberated some of his aunt's makeup from one of the shelves in her room and was sitting under a tree away from the commotion of the town's busy shops, examining it.

The lip paint was bright red and not at all subtle. He wondered if there was a way to make a brown or green variety that didn't smell funny. Something like that would certainly help with camouflage.

Eziya had grown tired of the bustling shops for the day, and decided it was best to roam the forest outside of town for once. Her company would not be traveling for at least a few more days, so she finally had some time to herself to go exploring outside of the town. Much to her extreme pleasure. She liked being able to learn from the other healers, but every now and then they were all too much to handle. She just had to escape to have some fun of her own from time to time, something they thought to be dangerous. Eziya enjoyed being able to see new things and meet new people, but her chances had been more limited than she had expected them to be. Hopefully she could at least find something interesting in the forest, and if she got to help someone along the way then that was just an added bonus in her mind.

He didn't immediately look up when he noticed someone moving nearby. It would have been nice if whoever they were had just gone away, but when they lingered close enough for him to see out of the corner of his eye for a minute or so, any excuse for ignoring them grew slimmer and slimmer.

Serr's gaze flicked away from the smears of lipstick on his wrist as he eyed the girl warily. He certainly didn't mean to feel the way he did, but Shifters kind of raised his hackles these days, especially girl ones. Even so, she looked harmless enough, and he had taken to carrying a dagger at his hip if she suddenly got stabby.

With a breathy grunt, the prentice rose to his feet and stretched, mindful of the bandages that swathed his left side. He offered the girl a short wave. "Hey."

"Oh hello!" Eziya smiled, surprised to see anyone so far out in the forest. She glanced over the boy before her, noticing the bandages on his side. "Oh you're injured. Do you need help? I may not be the best of healers, but I've been learning a lot in my travels. I uh...don't mean to bother you or anything though," she blushed, nervously playing with the tip of her braid. As much as she enjoyed talking to people she had no intention of forcing her company on someone who did not want it. That would benefit no one. Eziya did inch closer to the boy however, trying to get a better look at the wound without getting too close. A difficult task, but she would rather not get attacked if he got uncomfortable with her presence. Better to keep her distance. At least for the moment.

Serr watched her blush and fidget, an amused warmth in his eyes that the compressed line of his mouth didn't seem to echo. She was nothing at all like Jyn, and that was definitely a good thing.

"They got looked at by an old man. A friend of my aunt's," he said, voice low. It was the first time he'd uttered more than some variation of 'yes' or 'no' today, and he had yet to get up to full volume. "You can look too if you want."

He pulled at the bandage and balled it up in his hand when it was gone, grateful for even the flimsiest of excuses to remove it. The girl in the forest told me to. Underneath were a pair of clean, well cared for knife wounds, covered with a thin layer of clear gel and bound by messy stitches, but otherwise healing well. Eleon had rather unsteady hands and he'd said he couldn't help leaving scars. Serr had answered with a faint frown because he felt he had been expected to, but truthfully scars were something the boy had absolutely no problem with. If he was going to get hurt, he wanted the proof.

"If I start to make you uncomfortable please let me know and I promise I will back off," Eziya muttered as she leaned down to take a better look at the wound on his side. "What sort of adventure did you get yourself into to receive such a wound? It must have been something grand," the Shifter smiled, gently examining the wound and the handiwork the man who fixed it did. Though the stitches were a bit unsteady they were still skillfully done.

"Well sir, everything seems to be healing well. Let me get you a clean bandage out of my pack and I can coat it and wrap it back up. Wouldn't want it to get infected from exposure, especially with all the dirt around. That would make things....unpleasant to say the least."

Eziya sat down next to the tree, pulling her pack into her lap as she did so. I know my bandages are in here somewhere.

"Book no, not food either....where are they," she grumbled to herself, pulling an assortment of books out of her pack as well as several other strange things she had collected throughout her travels and hoarded in her pack.

The boy nodded, assuring her he wouldn't shriek or run off or do any number of other stupid things. He wondered if she'd been trained to make such comforting statements. If he had been trained in the etiquette of stealing things, maybe he wouldn't have been stabbed.

"I made someone angry with me," he said with a small, cheeky grin. "I told her I'd do what she wanted, and I did, but I also did something for me. She didn't like that, even though she never said I couldn't." He shrugged, lowering the arm he had raised halfway to accommodate the healer. "I probably should have known better."

Serr didn't approve of the whole "wrapping it back up" idea, but he'd known it was coming so he didn't argue. Any irritation he'd felt was dulled by the appearance of her bag anyway. What was all of that?

"You've got a lot of... adventure stuff yourself," he said, curiously poking at a book.

"Well if she never said you couldn't do it, then the fault is on her I'd say. She should have made her orders more clear," Eziya nodded, smiling brightly when she found the bandages tucked into the corner of her pack. "Oh good I found them! Now then, as for all the things in my pack, you're welcome to look through it while I wrap you back up. Mostly it's just books, but I think I still have some interesting stones and a few pretty rings and stuff I've gotten while traveling."

She had a bad habit of hoarding everything she found interesting when she was traveling. One of these days it would get too heavy for her, but for the moment she was too stubborn to let go of her odd collection. She could still fit her bandages and ointments into her pack and that was all that mattered.

"I'm going to clean off your wound a little before I wrap it. If it hurts just let me know and I'll try to be more gentle," the Shifter said softly as she slowly began the process of cleaning his wound.

Exactly. This girl understood perfectly. He was in the right, and Jyn was... stupid. Serr nodded. "Either way, I'll get her back as soon as I can." See how much she liked getting stabbed.

He picked up the book he'd poked, sparing the girl a sliver of attention amidst his curiosity. "Yeah. Okay." She could have hidden a secret message under his new bandages and he likely wouldn't have noticed. "What's your name, by the way?" If he was going to be crying out in pain, he wanted to address the right person.

Serr grew tired of the book before he had even tried reading the title, placing it back in her bag and looking instead for these stones and rings she had mentioned. His fingers positively itched to take something, and he might have done so had she been just a little richer or a little less agreeable. Anyway, he could still look.

"Oh I'm sorry! I really should have introduced myself earlier, huh?" she grinned sheepishly, fingers nervously playing with her braid once more. "I'm Eziya. Not too exciting of a name, I know, but I like it. What's your name?" She pressed the new bandage onto his wound then, waiting a moment to gauge his reaction. She didn't want to harm him, especially since it seemed like he was already hurting a bit. Giving him more pain would be very unpleasant, and may make him angry - something she wanted to avoid when speaking to people. All Eziya really wanted was to help people and potentially make friends, and hurting said people would be counterproductive to her cause. She glanced over him to see if he was straining, gasping a bit when she saw the red marks on his wrist.

"Oh no were you bleeding there too?" The Shifter panicked, keeping one hand pressed gently onto the bandage while her other reached out to grab his wrist.

"I'm Serr." He continued looking through her stuff until she started bandaging him and his attention was forced to her and her probey fingers. Despite pretty much everything being a little bit sore, she wasn't causing him any real pain, but he was suddenly aware that he was giving her a lot of leeway to do whatever she liked over there, just about as much as she was giving him with her things. She did seem to be remarkably trustworthy and comforting however, so he decided to try returning the courtesy. He could do the trustworthy bit at the very least. Serr reluctantly pulled his hands from her bag and folded them rather demurely, the makeup on his arm plainly visible.

"And your name seems fine to me. As long as it's not something like—"

He stopped short at her worried tone, at least until he realized what she was talking about. The initial tension in his arm that had arisen at her touch loosened as he grinned, genuinely pleased by her concern.

"Oh no, that's just lip paint," he replied, rubbing at it with his opposite hand. "I was wondering if it could be used for camouflage out here, but I'm sure there are people who sell different colors for that already." He shrugged. Mostly he had just wanted to take a look at his aunt's makeup up close.

"Oh I am glad. For a moment you had me very worried. I wouldn't want you to be hiding injuries when I can help," she nodded, watching him smudge the lip paint off. "I've never been one to wear any sort of lip paint, but I'm sure it would make great camouflage if you find the right color. Or it could simply be war paint." She continued to fix up his bandages, her hands gently smoothing over them and partially along his side. The person really had done a number on him, and she hoped he got his revenge for it. It really was uncalled for and they must have not cherished him as a friend. Shaking her head at that, she looked over at her pack and then back at him.

"Nothing catching your interest, dear Serr? I figured something in there would interest you," Eziya said, reaching over to pull the back closer to them. She honestly didn't mind if he took something that interested him. She could always get something else to fill its place, and it may help him more than her depending on what it was. She stuck her hand down into the bag once more, pulling out one of the pretty carved rings she had bought in one of the last villages she was in. "What about this? I think it would match your lip paint."

War paint. He smirked at that, obviously pleased by this more chaotic line of thinking. Too pleased, some might have said, but they weren't here, were they? It was just him and Eziya, and she had already earned a spot on the short list of people who weren't idiots.

Serr pressed his lips together and tried to look disinterested as she brought out the ring. Definitely not an idiot. He had been eying the carved band and yes, he liked the look of it. Imagining it joining his currently depleted selection of treasures was entirely too appealing. He paused again, sighing faintly through his nose before grabbing the jewelry. It was lovely and he wanted it, but apparently receiving something as a gift was many degrees less satisfying than taking it.

He slipped the ring onto his pinky, nodding at her as he spoke. "Thanks." He chuckled. "It does match my lip paint." A few seconds passed before he reached up to untie one of the bright feathers dangling from his hair. "Here," he said, holding it out to her. "For looking at my cut."

"Oh are you really sure? You don't have to pay me back or anything for looking at the cut. I'll gladly do it any time you need it. I'm always willing to help a friend in need," she nodded, smiling brightly at him. Serr was kind to her, and she would like to be able to call him a friend if he allowed it. She found the Leafling to be very interesting, and if he kept getting into trouble she was sure he would need more bandages. Or maybe even some actual healing magic depending on how bad he got into it.

The jewelry looked at home sitting on his pinky, and she was happy to give it over to him. She always thought treasures were best shared with others, and the ring seemed to please him at least a bit. Eziya hesitantly took the feather from his hand, still unsure if she should take such a pretty thing from him. It was quite a struggle to find a place to put it in her hair with all the flowers already weaved in, but hopefully she could find a spot for it.

He had spent the first sixteen years of his life with no real friends besides the woman who called herself his aunt, and now he had two in as many months. He wasn't willing to jump in front of a charging aldabuk for them yet or anything, but he wouldn't mind seeing them again after they had parted. It was an interesting feeling.

"Yes. It's not much in exchange." He twisted the ring on his finger, allowing himself to be pleased even though he hadn't stolen it. He really had gotten the better end of the deal. "But I hope you like it." He swallowed and touched the spot where the feather had been. It was better off going with her before it got all dirty anyway.

"So," he continued, carefully relaxing back into the tree. "You're just passing through? Where have you been before?"
