"It's a little hot outside isn't it?" The Senator asked as he pulled his black mask down over his face. He always wore a mask when doing things like this, less someone walking by saw him working. Each of his three guards nodded and he pointed towards the table that they had set his tools up on. "Get me the hammer." Adam ordered as one of the guards moved over to get the very specific instrument Adam asked for. Meanwhile Adam turned over to the man who had been tied down to a table that the guards had carried with them. "Hello. Wake up, I want you to be awake for this bonding experience. We are about to develop trust. With each bone I break, I will be able to trust your information more." Adam slapped the man to ensure he wasn't about to doze off, then the Senator gripped the hammer his guard had picked out. "Shall we begin?" As he spoke the senator lifted the hammer into the air, then swung it downwards into his victim's knee with a crushing force. The screams that followed would likely echo throughout the junkyard but few were ever around to hear the screams. The process continued for a few minutes until blood began splashing out with ever blow. It was at that time that Adam received a phone call.
The Senator peeled off his gloves and mask before answering the call. "Hello? Yes. Well he hasn't said very much about the drug trade yet but that will change. Yes. We do have what is required to burn the body but I am good at what I do, he could survive. If you're that worried we can cut out his tongue. Alright. The election? I feel it is going well. Yes. I understand. I sent men to have my daughters visit me somewhere public. Preferably the Emporium in my city but in the end I feel I will have to go wherever they are willing to meet. I understand. Alright. Goodbye." Adam turned towards the guards as he hung up and pointed at two of them. "You two with me. Frank, I want you to wrap up here." With Edd and Rick following Adam made his way towards their car at the entrance to the junkyard. He could still hear the screams ringing in the air behind him and regretted not being there to cause them but business was business.
When she arrived, she managed to find a couple pieces of scrapped tech lying around, picking it up and putting it into her bag. It wasn’t long before screams were being heard all around, screams of agony that drew her curiosity. It was probably a bad idea to seek out the source of horror like a moth to a flame, but curiosity was an excessive issue with her, so she set her stuff down for a second and carefully walked in that direction, gazing at the occurrence through a small pipe with fearful eyes. As the blood began to appear, she couldn’t help but feel a little sick to her stomach. However, when she retracted her head, a piece of metal collapsed to the side. “Damn,” she whispered, trying to sneakily walk away. Just for that, she was ready to head on back with whatever she had.

Well there’s plenty of ways this could go. It could be their first actual encounter, in which they may go after her and have him recognize her right then, or he could ignore it and she’ll head home earlier because of that, where his men will appear sometime shortly after to inform them. If it’s the first, they’d probably cruise on back to the apartment and get her sister. If it’s the second, it’ll be more of a surprise and she’ll acknowledge that she recognizes him as the man she saw earlier. Regardless, they won’t recognize him, but I suppose he’d have recognized them from their files.

I'll leave it up to you whether or not they meet here. Adam's concern would primarily be making sure no one gets out but if Gwen is sneaky enough she could.
The slight rustling that Gwen caused did not go unnoticed. the trio turned towards the cause of the sound and Adam motioned for Edd to investigate. The guard took off into the junkyard and Adam continued making his way towards the car with Rick. Adam pulled his mask back on over his head as they reached the car. Rick opened the door and the senator got in, however he did not buckle up and get ready to leave. Adam opened up the glove compartment and pulled out the pistol he had stored inside. He wasn't big on conflicts but he did have body guards around and they were in a junk yard. generally people who went to junk yards didn't have family that would miss them. Besides, Adam needed a little fun. Senator Payne proceeded to exit the car and motion towards the entrance. "Rick, go in and tell Edd to block the exits. I will be here waiting for you to get back. We can't take the chance that our little rat saw my face."
It didn’t take long for her to realize the exits were blocked, though when she turned around, she’d find one of the three strangers she saw, quickly grabbing her before she could reach for her stun gun. He wasn’t just some goon either; there was no way she’d win the fight, but it didn’t stop her from swinging at him quite pathetically. When she was picked right up, she continued her onslaught of weak hits, though she got nowhere with it, being carried right on over to their boss. “Let me go, you Neanderthal!” she exclaimed. It wasn’t her best insult, but she was in panic thought.
"That's a big word for someone in a junkyard." Adam casually looked over his gun as the guards brought the girl to him. When they stood only a few feet from him he cocked the pistol and took aim however the face he saw did cause him to pause. He had seen that face before, not many times before but he had seen that face. It was the eyes that he remembered. "What are you doing here?" Adam asked, forgetting he still had his mask on. He motioned for Rick to put Gwen down so they could talk.
Her expression turned to shame when she realized he had a valid point; she wasn’t much to talk for lurking around a junkyard. Her constant hitting of the guy’s shoulder stopped when he let go of her. From the looks of it, he was some sort of upper-class gangster or something. Her involvement with politics was small, so she wouldn’t have recognized his face as the senator, even less so as her father. Seeing as the wrong words could’ve easily gotten her killed, she bit her tongue and sighed before she spoke, “I’m here like every week, dude. Not everyone can afford some fancy tech; people got to make a living somehow. Can’t you cut me some slack? I’ve got a sibling that needs food on the table. No one’s going to hear about this.” Whether or not he believed her, she really wouldn’t; her objective was to gather scraps and make something of it, whatever his business was, it was beyond her.
Adam looked over to Rick and then Edd. He nudged his head towards the car and they both went inside. "I don't plan to shoot you. Get in the car, we need to talk." With that Adam put the gun away and opened the door. "Don't try to run, Rick isn't fond of chasing people and the odds are he will just run you over this time. You and I could create a mutually beneficial deal, but you'll have to play along." Adam waited to see what Gwen would do next before saying anything else. As it was he could allow her to leave. the Syndicate may do something later to tie up loose ends but she did not know enough to be any actual threat. Adam was waiting to see if she would play along, then he would begin the manipulation.
Seeing as she didn’t have much of a choice, she sat down. Just then, he went on to provide an expected warning but an unexpected deal after. “Wait, whoa there, a deal? I don’t even know who you are! Is this going to be one of those ‘you don’t know me, but here’s the plan’ type of deals? I mean the mask is kind of creeping me out—err, shutting up now.” Her mouth was going to get her killed one day, she was sure of it. Her word filter was just as crappy as the local junk; it was probably because she wasn’t getting that much sleep these days. Despite her obvious obliviousness, she did, in fact, know him; she simply didn’t recognize him yet. After all, their last encounter was when her father closed the door on them when they needed his help so many years ago.
Adam let out a low sigh and followed Gwen into the car. "I can tell you have a few stereotypes about these kinds of things. You shouldn't." Adam mumbled to himself as he peeled the mask off his face and tossed it to the front seat. "You do know me, you just don't remember me." Adam turned his head to face Gwen and he waited silently to see if there would be any moment of recognition. A few seconds passed before he spoke again. If she had recognized him in that time he had not been paying enough attention to notice. Senator Payne snapped twice and Edd opened the glove compartment. He pulled out a small bag with clear pills and handed it to Adam who immediate opened the bag, took out a pill, and then returned the bag to Edd. The Senator's hand shook the entire way to his mouth but when the pill had been swallowed Adam's hand became very steady. He let out a relieved sigh and looked over at Gwen again. "I am going to lay out the deal first, then tell you who I am. Needless to say I don't want you to rush to a decision." Adam paused so that he was certain Gwen was listening. "I can provide for you and your sister. Money isn't a problem. Any problems you two have, gone. Just like that. In return you and her will have to go out in public with me every once in a while. Look happy all the time and stay away from places like this junkyard. Do everything possible to make me look like the perfect- ah damn." Adam paused as he realized what he was saying. He was giving far too many hints as to who he was.
Despite his unmasking, she hadn’t quite recognized him. It wasn’t until he began speaking again before she finally figured it out, silent for a bit, but eventually able to find the words. “It’s been a while, but I remember now.” As expected, she was reluctant to refer to him as her father, because to her, he wasn’t. If anything, she really wanted to scold at him now. Aside from concluding he was her father, she also realized he’d appeared on television a few times, a senator. It didn’t take long for her to realize that he was organizing a publicity stunt, with the two of them finally having value now since nothing screamed “the good guy” like waving family around. Nevertheless, she couldn’t lie to herself, they needed the money, and this was a chance she’d be stupid to skip out on. First thing to do was set her terms; if she were going to play along, then she’d need a little more assurance. “I have additional terms. It’s got to be a yes to both or I won’t agree. We’re not living in that dump of an apartment anymore; she deserves better. And second, we keep my sister in the dark about this, about this deal, and about whatever it is that you’re doing behind closed doors. You can lie if you have to, but when she sees you, act like a goddamn father. Her whole life, she’s been under the impression that you’ve never given a damn about us, and you probably don’t, but I can’t have her believing that. I’ve worked really hard to make her believe that somehow, we’d be a family and everything would be okay.” While she didn’t completely understand the nature of what he did, she could’ve easily assumed it was illegal. It was amazingly difficult to resist the urge to just slap him right then. For all these years, he’d found fortune and never looked back to take care of his family. Yet now, out of a sudden opportunity to promote himself, he’d have actually given a damn. He made her sick, and she wanted nothing to do with him, but to decline out of selfish opinion wasn’t her way; her sister came first. Her rough point-of-view had to be set aside for her sister’s betterment.
"I have to admit you're handling this better than I expected." Adam claimed as he leaned back slightly to think. Both of Gwen's requests were fair and if anything would help him appear to be even better of a father. Publicly he would have to make up a story as to why he had left them, mentioning the morphine addiction would give any of his opponents too much to grasp at. He could make the story though, there were plenty of options. A fire that separated the whole family, an accident that forced him to leave, he could even play the guilt ridden father who blamed himself for their mother's death and left because of it. Adam had oodles of options at the moment and could work out the details later. As far as keeping Gwen's sister in the dark, that was probably best. Younger children were not always the most effective liars, if Talia truly believed the fiction, it would be best for them all. "I'll accept your terms under the agreement that if you ever tell the public who I really am, I will take away my good will. "
“I’m a survivor,” she said in reply to his first statement. While she hadn’t built some empire out of tainted air like he did, she had managed all these years. If they weren’t living in the old apartment any more, hopefully he had some place separate of his where they could stay. After all, she was twenty-four, and as cute as it would be to prance around the public with a family together, that would be unnecessary, seeing as very public events would be the way to go. He went on to give a key warning, which made her nod. “Yeah, I know—that much is just common sense,” she said. Her curiosity was towards when they’d fetch her sister; hopefully she’d have been home by then. He likely knew where they lived if he’d been looking to arrange the little façade. In the meantime, she had a handful of questions. “What are you the senator of? I’m not that into politics, so I don’t have a clue. And where are we supposed to stay? What about the stuff, and our cats? Are we supposed to have a guy in a suit following us everywhere?” Her questions were in-line, nothing about his other activities, only about what was directly related to her and her sister. Her first question was potentially determinant of where they’d be.
Adam passively listened to his daughter's questions as his mind began formulating plans. He needed to use them as effectively as he could while keeping them at arms length. If they got too close they could become a problem and then he would have little choice but to sort them out. When his daughter finished speaking he responded with nothing more than she needed to know. "I am the senator of Bostrom, Earth. Are you familiar with it?" Adam paused before continuing. He had decided not to tell her about plans for expansion or the fact that he helped manage the drug trade in his own city. "You will stay in the upper class areas, you will only visit the finest places and buy the nicest things, as for a bodyguard, for the first few months yes, you will have one. However when the public begins focusing on me more than they focus on you I will present you two with the option of removing your guard."
Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped when she heard what he was governing. While she was unnervingly curious as to how he managed to climb the social ladder so high, she figured it was better not to ask. When he was through, she nodded her head and reclined to her seat, sitting in silence and waiting to get her sister. Besides, they needed to get some lunch together. Her original plan was to bring the stuff home and then go make some noodles, but apparently not. For a second she was worried about the junk she had left behind, seeing as she spent quite a bit of time gathering them, but that didn’t matter anymore. However, she would still intend on making the things she intended to build.
