The rain was lashing down relentlessly, it was barely into the new year and winter was making it very clear that it was here to stay for a while yet but for Ate it was long overdue to piss off. Another night of stalking in the cold and wet was upon her and although she grimaced as her fuku became stained with rain drops she felt the pleasure of the coming deed she was about to perform. More energy was always needed, so much more and she had never complained about this fact, it was a necessary job to complete. If she could cast out her hand and end the lives of everyone sleeping in their beds to gather what she needed for Metalia she would do so without a second thought. Yet as Lyssa had reminded her time and time again there was no point in ending renewable energy so quickly. There would be time soon to cull those that were deemed undesirable. For now they could recover and be struck again adding to the ever growing pile for Metalia to feed upon. It was the only comfort Ate felt as she watched a couple running heads down out of the rain. They would all die in the end.
Absentmindedly she pulled at the ribbon tied to her waist, her symbol gleaming in the street light as she watched a young man, barely over 18 struggle with his umbrella against the storm. He would never see her coming if she struck now, his hands were trembling in the wind, his eyes cast on the only thing claiming his attention as he fought to turn the umbrella right way round. He would never see her coming.
Running like a person possessed Ate flung herself across the street, her stride making little work of the distance as she powered lined her body into him taking him by surprise. Her attack pushed him into the wall knocking him unconscious, his eyes rolling into the back of his head as the umbrella left his fingers and clattered to the ground. He didnt even make a sound.
"Aww sweetie, you poor thing, lets help you up." Ate tutted as she did a quick glance to her side to make sure her act had gone unnoticed. The rain was a blessing in that remark as looking through the sheets of water hid all kinds of sins. "You shouldnt be walking alone at night, a pretty thing like you." She said this though grunts of exertion as she hooked her arms under his and started to drag him into the nearby ally. Rain or not there was no reason for her to be disturbed out on the streets.
"You know your my third tonight, I know I know, am being greedy but I can't help it, you looked good enough to eat." She spoke to him as if he was really listening before dropping him unceremoniously when she reached the desired place. Standing over him her eyes roamed his body as she contemplated his place in the world and decided it was utterly worthless.
"Mmm, but don't worry about that though sweetie, i will make your pathetic life worth while...." She purred before dropping to her knees and slamming her hand into his chest. DaisyMilk You can like, totally interrupt her if you want XD

Being out in a wintery rain was hardly Haumea's idea of a fun time. Even powered up, he felt the cold and found it less than pleasing. Still, the rain also made it much easier to prey of the good citizens of the city and collect energy.
Which, in fact, he'd just finished gathering from a slumped over granny. He'd left her just enough to eventually wake up. Whether it was enough to allow her to make it home was hardly his concern. With a sigh, he sent the energy orb on it's merry way to the Dark Kingdom and was about to call it a night when an energy signature he hadn't expected touched his senses. Senshi. And infused with Chaos.
Closing his eyes to better 'taste' the aura, he had to reluctantly decide that it wasn't Alkaid. But a Chaos bound senshi was still worth trying to meet and speak to. Forgetting the old woman lying in the rain, Haumea raced towards the energy he'd felt. And after a few moments, heard a soft, feminine voice speaking nearby. Moving as quietly as possible, he tracked the voice and finally saw a woman kneeling over the body of an unconscious boy. Saw her hand slam into his chest.
"I didn't think we were able to reach into chests like that," he blurted out without thinking. Certainly, the officers he'd interacted with had left him with the impression that corrupt senshi could only draw out the energy orbs from people. But in his dreams, he'd been able to reach the starseed... Interesting.
In the rain, it was difficult to see the woman's features, but a nagging sense of familiarity tugged at his mind. Where had he seen her before?Matisha I am laughing so hard at the timing. I just did Haumea's Ascended dream solo XD

Ate had just about grasped the starseed in the boys chest when the voice popped up from seemingly nowhere. For a second she though the boy beneath her had spoken but a quick glance at his closed eyes confirmed her victim wouldnt be expressing any opinions anytime soon. Releasing her hold on the starseed was almost heart wrenching. She had lost her mind for a moment and to realize she was going to rip the starseed out instead of collecting his energy like she had planned to do alarmed her. She had been told in no lesser terms to stop doing it, having left several dead bodies in the past few weeks for the police to find her "superiors" had giving her warning after warning. It was only the threat of being refused into the rift without a personal escort that had convinced her to at least play along for now.
As her fingers uncurled from around the jagged prize Ate glanced over her shoulder, her eyes narrowing on Haumea as she studied him for a second before relaxing. The beautiful taint of corruption had filtered into her senses and she saw the Senshi as one of her brethen. She immediately smiled before standing up, only a small ache of regret settling into her stomach as she left the boy to the elements.
"You've not lived then my friend. Its was a little trick i picked up, its not easy but...I had a good teacher showing me the ropes." She brushed her damp hair behind an ear before approaching the corrupt her eyes friendly even though her body was tensed in case the situation suddenly changed. Ate had met a few others like her and not all of them were humbled with the gift they had received.
"I wouldnt suggest doing it though until you have the power, you...are not quite there yet sweetie but I promise, I'll show you when your older." She winked at him before pushing out a hand, her expression hinting at him to take it and shake. "The name's Ate and as you can see I was a little busy with my date here. Poor boy couldnt handle what I was giving and he just had to take a little nap. No biggy, he will be ok in a few hours...or not. That's half the fun though, seeing if they can survive hmm? I hit him pretty hard though so my money is on not." She snorted with laughter as she looked back at him, her prediction probably wasn't far of the mark. DaisyMilk So sorry for the late reply!! As the woman turned, Haumea felt a little thrill inside. Even plastered down by rain, he knew that dark hair. He'd seen it often enough in his dreams of late.
"And may I ask who that teacher was?" Haumea asked softly, a suspicion beginning to form in his mind. He hoped the answer was Alkaid. Taking the offered hand, he bowed a little over it, part of him disappointed to not see the crackling Chaos of his dreams dancing across her skin.
"Haumea," he introduced himself before releasing her hand and simply studying her. He spared barely a glance for the boy. As with the old woman, whether the boy lived or died was hardly any concern of his. "I know you somehow. But you were... different. Indulge me a moment," he said, half smiling. "Have you had any odd dreams of late?"

Turning her view back to Haumea as he finished returning the hand shake she couldn't help but look him up and down. Even in the rain he was an impressive sight, his long pink dreadlocks still gorgeous even plastered down with the damp, if anything it looked like a glorified veil. Noting his fuku, or lack there off Ate couldn't help but suppress a smile. She too had been given the short stick when it came to fuku plans.
"Haumea hmm? You must be freezing your nips off if that getup...nice view though." She took an appreciative step back to get a better look before returning to his questions. There was unfortunately very few corrupted Senshi about and to find one was willing to talk to her was an opportunity she wasn't willing to pass up.
"My teacher" She uttered fondly, her eyes alight with remembrance. "Her name was Alkaid, she was...she is an Ascended Senshi, the first of her kind. I met her a few months back, she even took me too her planet which was...unbelievable. She taught me a few things but our time was so short...i haven't seen her in a long while." Her voice took on a more somber tone as she uttered the last sentence. She had so wanted to speak to Alkaid more, to see if she could ever reach the height that the ascended senshi had gained. But just as quickly as she had appeared she was gone again and no amount of searching had brought her back.
Haumea's question of knowing her brought her back from her musing, her eyebrows shooting up as she suddenly grasped what he was getting at, a coy smile playing on her lips.
"Why...I do believe I've had some very strange dreams of late...Why, what do you know of them?" She had a dam good feeling to what he might say, that he too had had very similar dreams to her own. Ones that spoke of a future that she was desperately fighting for. "You know its funny, barely a week ago I happened to stumble across someone who asked me the very same thing." She retook her step closer to him, nearly reaching out t touch him. "Tell me Haumea....have you been dreaming of me lately too?"

Snorting a little in amusement, Haumea grinned in triumph when Ate mentioned Alkaid. It was good to know that he hadn't been the only one she'd left such an impression on. Though he had to admit he was definitely jealous that Ate had gotten to go into space.
"What was it like?" he asked almost breathlessly. "Her planet, I mean. And I suppose getting into space."
Ate's coy smile sent a ripple of something almost like glee up his spine. She'd had similar dreams! He wasn't the only one!
"I know that I've had dreams of late that show a... strange and beautiful future. And I know you were part of that future. I've seen you hunting and serving Metallia and we both her the mark of her approval upon us..."

Stopping short of Haumea's personal bubble Ate smirked back at the Senshi who was asking the right questions. It was so thrilling to meet someone who was just as interested in the ascended Senshi as she was. Maybe someone after her own heart?
"It was....epic. The feel of chaos all around me when I stepped onto that planet was so...it was so blissful. It equaled the rift in its sense of completeness, like it was always meant to be so and the planet had been yearning to be taken. It was, and by no means is this a bad thing, but completely intoxicated by chaos to the point it was fit to busting. I could have stayed there for the remainder of my days, no question about it."
She nodded her head as he spoke of the dreams, her damp hair still able to bounce with the odd curls that hadn't succumbed to the rain. It was positively enlightening to speak to someone who thought the same things as she, especially after so many other corrupted Senshi become hesitant when she spoke of it.
"Yes...yes I was wasnt I? Sometimes I wake up now and think I am still there, still with all the power and connection, its so...so ******** infuriating that I cant gain it now!" Her voice rose with the anger she felt before she blinked it away. It would do no good screaming her frustration at Haumea who was obviously as eager for the future as she was. "But if you say you had the same mark, the same gift then we must have found a way! There must be a way to achieve it without the path Alkaid took, dont you think?" She was getting excited now, she hadnt met another Senshi who had been an ascended in the future so the possibility that she was meeting one now and speaking of these things could only mean one thing.

Listening carefully to Ate, Haumea couldn't help but feel a stab of pure envy at her good fortune. To have been able to experience such a thing! Tangerine eyes narrowed thoughtfully as he watched the other senshi, studying her hair and the lines and curves of her face. There was something so wrong about not seeing Metallia's mark on her.
And given her raised voice, clearly she agreed.
"I bore the same mark and proudly. Others too, but I can't remember their faces. Only yours, which makes me wonder if that wasn't for a reason."
Her excitement was infectious and he felt himself shaken out of his usual placidity. Ate had a point, a good one at that. There had to be a way because it had already happened in those dreams.
"We found a way, all right," he answered softly, content to simply watch Ate. "There is a way. We just have to find it again."Matisha Me toooo! I am so sorry for the slow, though. Work was determined to ruin me.

Although their conversation had been going barely minutes Ate couldn't help but hold on to the feeling that this was meant to be. That Metalia in her infinite wisdom had brought them both out this evening and caused this meeting to happen. That she was opening a way for them, two eager pupils wishing to only do what their Goddess wanted and achieve a status beyond those around them. She felt drunk with the excitement and took a moment to collect her thoughts and steady her hand as she nodded furiously at what Haumea was saying.
"We did, we found a way, this ******** it I'll just say it but its fate. Imagine, all this time being in the Negaverse and having never stumbled across each other, dont you think its mad? And now after those dreams, our futures, we just happen to find each other? She chose us by her hand to be her warriors of the future, she is trying to tell us that we need to find the way."
It did sounds obscene, even to Ate's ears and even as she spoke the words she couldn't help but think it sounded like the basis to a stupid rom-com movie. Two people destined to meet across time and space? She fought back the urge to start singing "Hey I just met you and this is crazy, but search for a way to corrupt our souls further, maybe." and instead held both hands over the blackened gap in her chest, her eyes alight with anticipation.
"We were meant to meet Haumea, I dont know if you believe in that but Lyssa, she told me that Metalia is above everything, she is a goddess of untold power, the most supreme being. I cant help but think she has played a hand in all this."
Even though she hadn't explained who Lyssa was Ate couldn't help think of what the Guardian Cat had told her time and time again. That to revere Metalia, it was almost a religious experience. She was meant to be worshiped and the ascended, they would be her priests.
"Haumea....promise me. Promise we'll start searching right away if this is what you want. Even if we cover the world and back. Promise me, and we will make it happen."

How strange, he thought as he watched Ate. She and Alkaid were so different, but they seemed to share a talent for inspiring him to become better. Haumea wasn't entirely sure who Lyssa was supposed to be, but he did know that he appreciated her views of Metallia.
Fate was something that he could take or leave. Fate was unimportant. All that mattered right now was Metallia and Her will. And in that, he and Ate were in complete accord. With a tiny, unreadable smile on his face, he reached out to gently cup Ate's face in his hands. Her passion was exhilarating and he couldn't help but become caught up in her words.
"We don't need such promises, Ate," he said quietly. "Metallia chose us. We'd be fools to ignore this, to ignore her. And I will follow where she leads us. To the very end of the world and the edges of the universe if need be."
To his fevered mind, promises meant very little in the long run. All that mattered was that Metallia had moved just so and brought him face to face with the only other clear face from his dreams. Metallia was guiding them gently and he'd never been one to ignore the wishes of his Queen.
"We will make our Dream into the reality, Ate. Metallia will guide us."

The touch was unexpected to Ate but she allowed it. It had been a long time since Ate had felt someones else's touch that wasn't meant to be painful and she let herself lean into it if only for a moment. The one clear thought that rang though her head was. Finally. Finally I have found you. She thought she had found that person in Alkaid, the one to show her how to ascend but she was gone and who knew when she would return. But here, her was someone wanting what she wanted and was willing to help her to find it. She had finally found them. after months of searching. She ignored the wetness growing on her cheeks, didn't want to acknowledge her weakness in showing that this had been something she had dreamed about for so long. Yet she held herself back, she didn't want to ruin this and there were things to be done before they could search.
"Yes...she will. She will lead us but...we need you to become stronger first before we can attempt anything. We need to show her that you have proven yourself to her more than you have ever done so before. And then...we need to enter the rift. That is where we can be as close as possible to her. We may be able to find the answers we need there. Am sure of it." Ate let her mind think over everything that needed to be done. She hadn't made ties since corrupting so for her to break away from this mortal life would be simple but for Haumea the transition may not be as easy. He had to prepare himself.
"You know what this means dont you? Your mortal life, this world. It will mean nothing to us anymore. I know you want this, I can feel it coming from you so strongly it matches my own. But know this, we will never be accepted back here...we wouldn't want too. There is so much for you to prepare for if we find our solution, if Metalia does led us to our salvation. Can you do that? Can you say goodbye?"
Ate didn't feel like Haumea would change his mind at the point but she allowed a little spike of fear to gnaw away at her. There was a big difference between her and others. For one she didnt care for anyone except Metalia and secondly, she dreamed to watch the world burn.

Haumea watched Ate with an oddly serene intensity as she spoke. What she said made sense, though part of him felt a tiny twinge of pain at the thought of leaving behind everything that Kekipi considered important. Like Yuki. His fish pond. The tattoo shop...
Oh, severing those ties was going to hurt. But Ate was right. He wouldn't be strong enough to please Metallia if he persisted in clinging to his human life. And he'd never feel that exquisite togetherness that haunted his dreams. And that, ultimately, was what decided the matter for him. Drawing in a trembling sigh, he bowed his head for a moment. Then, he looked up and gave Ate a fierce, hungry grin.
"If you will help me, I can do anything Metallia might require of me. To find that dream, I'll do anything you and She ask of me."
Finding Alkaid had been thrilling, he thought. But this, somehow, finding Ate transcended it. There was a rich hint of fate here and he'd be a fool to ignore it.
"Anything," he repeated softly.

It was with that final word that Ate believed him, believed that he would give up everything for this goal, to please Metalia above all others even themselves. Brushing away the tears she tried to smile even doing so brought more tears rolling down her face. Who thought a monster such as she could still feel passion and hope? Maybe for all the wrong things but this touch of humanity left in Ate shone through and she was happy for Haumea to see it.
"Then...go prepare, we have so much to do let first before we can even start to found out how to do this without thw aid of Alkaid. I think, yes, Lyssa. Lyssa may be able to help us. You will need to meet her too of course which is...uhhh." She brought her hand up level and flat and rocked it from side to side mimicking that it probably wasn't a good idea to ever meet Lyssa. "She is my Guardian Cat, and is....mentally ******** up but i think someone as in-tune with the rift may be able to help us find something out there."
Taking a step back, she did so hesitantly. It had been such an alarming change to be near someone who had the same hopes and dreams as her. It was like stepping back out into the rain after finding that little bit of shelter from it all. She would miss Haumea greatly until they could meet again but there were things to be done first.
"I will arrange it with Lyssa, meet us...say a week from now. In "Our Lady's of Mercy's Cemetery. Lyssa can be a little difficult to find but if I do I can at least keep her entertained there while we wait. She will tell us what we need to do....I hope." Taking a few steps back she turned to leave, her feet picking up the pace before she halted as if remembering something important. Looking back over her shoulder she brought up her hand, kissed it and blew it towards Haumea.
"Darling, sweetie....thank you." And before she could hear a response she was gone.

A guardian cat in tune with the Rift? Haumea arched an eyebrow at this, but stayed silent, listenign to Ate avidly. Yes, he would have to prepare, wouldn't he? They were about to embark on a quest and the heroes in the stories always prepared before such things.
"If you think she can help, I trust you," he said quietly. "And I will be there."
He watched her turn to leave, smiled a little at the blown kiss. Raising his hand, he gave the corrupt senshi a salute and watched as she sped away.
And though he knew she wouldn't hear, he couldn't help but whisper into the rain, "No, thank you. We won't be so lost now."
He stood in the rain for a moment longer, face raised slightly to the dark sky. Time to prepare.Matisha Oh my god, i am the worst. I am so sorry for dropping the ball on this! D:
