Rolled a One: Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks

Lenore walked into the stadium with a pokeball in hand. Reaching the edge of the podium, she sent out Jin-Gitaxias, and the gengar began formulating plans for battle.

Arissa stepped out into the field, and immediately was glad she had a jacket on. She stepped up to the field and tossed her pokeball into the field. At the peak of it's arc, Ronen burst out and performed a mid-air flip before landing lightly on the field.

Arissa considered for a moment, then instructed, "Try a Sweet Kiss."
Ronen smiled at his opponent, then fluttered his wings to float up angelically. He raised his stubby arms to his beak, then blew out a big kiss.

For a mere moment, Jin-Gitaxias' and Lenore's faces mirrored one another as they stared blankly at the togetic's display. As one, they sighed, and Lenore opened the book she had brought with her as Jin-Gitaxias shook his head. The togetic was certainly an oddity, but not one he especially wanted to study. The gengar pointed a finger forward towards his opponent, and a stream of gas spewed forth.

Ronen saw the smog coming and ducked his head to cover his face with his hands, his eyes scrunched shut. He fanned his wings as hard as he could, and managed to keep the worst of the smog away. By the time he cautiously peeked out from under one hand, the smog was little more than a few stray wisps.
Ronen looked up at the Gengar and winked, then blew another kiss.

Jin-Gitaxias was perplexed by the togetic's actions, and despite himself, began to overthink them. Distracted, he accidentally released some explosive gas, and it blew up in his face. Literally.

Arissa smiled as the attack had the desired effect, but they were far from done. "Well done! Now go for an Ominous Wind," she told her pokemon.
Ronen began to spin slowly in place, as a misty wind started to swirl up from the floor. As it rose, he spun faster, and the wind twisted around with him. In moments he was in the center of a thin, smoky tornado. Then suddenly he stopped in place and flung out his arms, sending the strange wind blasting towards Jin-Gitaxias.

Ronen did a neat backflip in the air, allowing the frozen fist to pass neatly under him. Then he started circling around the Gengar, as wisps of smoke started to stream off his wings. The wisps thickened into streams of air that followed in Ronen's wake as he circled ever tighter, aiming to wrap his opponent in them.

This time as the icy fist neared him, Ronen tilted backwards like a limbo dancer, allowing the fist to fly past just a hairsbreadth above his beak.
Arissa could see this attack could be dangerous for Ronen. So she called, "Now let's have a Safeguard."
Ronen began to fly in a tight loop-the-loop, repeatedly inscribing a circle in the air. When a glimmering trail started to follow after him, he tilted the loop so that he was flying around the same point, but sideways, then diagonal. The trail stayed in his wake like an afterimage, and when he'd inscribed a full sphere he spun to a stop in the center, now fully encased in a protective globe.

Jin-Gitaxias saw the shimmering barrier and understood that there was no chance of winning at this point. But he smiled wickedly. He wasn't going to go down without hitting his opponent at least once. The gengar began to balloon up as the caustic gases within him expanded before exploding violently, rocking the stadium.

The explosion tossed Ronen backward, flipping head-over-heels withing his protective ball, which bounced off an ice pillar once or twice. But the time the smoke had cleared, Ronen had managed to right himself, only to find there was no opponent on the field any more.
Arissa blinked a few times, surprised at the sudden end of the battle. But and end it was, and they were still standing. "Well done! You can come back now," she called to Ronen. He looked over and peeped at her, then floated back as he let the Safeguard dissipate. Together they waved to their opponents, then headed out of the stadium.
