It had been nearly a month since it happened. Since New Years. And ever since Maebe's mental state started going downhill, Otto started having dreams. He dreamed of what happened that night. He dreamed of it happening again somewhere else. He dreamed of Zac, and being in bed with him.

Each time he woke with an uncomfortable start. His heart racing and his mind plagued with guilt and disgust; and sadly even excitement. Beside him were two beautiful and engaging women, yet his dreams would always take him away from them. Was he bored with his life now? Was that why he'd strayed and why he dreamed of being somewhere he couldn't be?

His life was now a cage. He was asked not to let Maebe know what happened, but he knew he couldn't keep it secret for long; not with how bad things were. And he wanted her to know. He wanted to be free of her. Maebe wasn't who he thought she was; or maybe she was worse. She was fragile, but that fragility just hid a dark, manipulating vixen he'd warned himself of from the very beginning.

That was right. When he'd first met Maebe he hated her. He was scared she was using him, and wanted something from him. So instead, he'd tried turning her into his own ideal every time she came to seduce him. And for a while, it had worked.

But the spell was gone now. Maebe was not who he had fallen for. Not anymore. She may have said the same things, but behind her eyes was a pitch black evil he dared not touch.

Cami was the same as always. Agreeable, playful, and desperate to keep the peace.

And Otto wanted out.

He wanted out of the domestic niceties his apartment had taken on. The falseness and the acts. He wanted out. He wanted the bed to himself. He wanted his life to himself. He was scared, and he wanted to run away. He wanted to let his desires be without guilt or worry that it would hurt someone. He wanted to detach his desires from his heart.

Now he couldn't fall back asleep. He held his head and curled into a ball. He felt his skin burn and his eyes water. He was going to explode. He was a caged animal, a rodent trapped in a small trap. He wanted to be saved. He wanted to run and be free.

This wasn't who he was supposed to be. Why was he so different from before? Why was he letting people come over him so easily? Why did he care so much what happened to these girls? He wanted to be the aloof and brutish child he was when he came to the island; the child that pushed people away. He wanted not to care, so that he could be free. Fall out of love, so that it would no longer chain him down.
