Today was a fine day to find pekts.

Miss Rin had taken them out on the edges and cliffs to show them good places to hunt and now they were searching and digging in snow for pelts.

Not that Kakariko minded cold. They were very contented in nothing at all, but miss Rin said it was better to wear a pelt and so they listened, because though they were never seeing father again, Miss Rin was ever so nice and shared, and Kakariko made sure to pepper her in lovely licks and grooms and treats like dead squirrels, oh, yes! Many, many pretty things for Miss Rin to say thank you, and she was always ever so sad!

So, today, they were going to find pretty pelts, a collection of pretty pelts for themselves and Miss Rin so Miss Rin would be happy and not sad and smike because she was glad! And because they could not sing all of the time it was of utmost importance the hunt went well. What they looked for wasn't quality nor practicality, but what the half-baked male was sure was important - aesthetics. Even a torn scrap was pretty, and while touched, he new a pretty item made others happy.

Kakariko climbed rock and ledge, jumping with less grace than many and beamed as he greeted small animals and flowers, or rather, snowflowers born kissed on the frozen flowers that tried in vain to be born, and the cool air buffeted him as he walked for the places "Miss Rin" told him of, always smiing, and always perky.

Walking gaver him - them - a chance to remember as he moved, and occasionally the ghost of a memory rushed by. A ghostly figure of paws and eyes, prints in the snow, or a familiat scent, and Kakariko often found himself homesick, but he continued moving. Still, in his ears where whispers of his father's voice, and that made him quietest.

He had left home and father to find love and light and joy, and he had stolen away at night to find a home for himself. The regret of never saying goodbye wore heavily on his mind alone, and the male hesitated as he pad along, claws digging as he reached ice and snow - right where Rin had mentioned digging, and he slumped at last.

It was a quiet and sad leopard who walked into a digging place, seeking color as he sighed, thinking before a flash of grey fur caught his eye, and he moved to unearth it, collecting the animal slowly and carefully. The pelt reminded him of home and he nuzzled it faintly, wondering if his poor father was gone and sent it to him as a sign. A shake of the head and he collected it, carefully removing the pelt as he looked some more. Pink caught him next, a color he recalled Miss Rin admiring sadly, and he moved to unearth it, a pretty present for a friend who may like it. The bright merle fur delighted him and he beamed, laying all three out breifly to speak to them.

It was only polite, after all.

"Helo my friends I am very glad we met you today!" Kakariko chirped. He paused a moment as if hearing response, and beamed.

"Oh why yes miss pink-y!" Kakariko danced around the pelts.

"You'll be born again by a very nice lady who likes pink and is smart! Miss Rin will love you-- oh, no, Miss Pink, you'll be stunnng!"

He turned to the grey pelt next, giving it a loving lick.

"Mister Grey, you are stunning, don't fret!" A head bob accompanied the statement and Kakariko cooed. "I'll take the best care of you, I will! And Miss Crm will get a lovely owner again, and freezing most surely won't happen! And if we can't keep you I am most sure someone will, and I might get one. Miss Rin says no-pet in winter is most unseemly. And I only have my skin!" Kakariko licked each pelt, smiling innocently as his bottom plunked down, headfur bounching as the fluffy male beamed.

"You'll see, a nice home will be coming and you will work again! I DECREE IT SOOOO!" And Kakariko rose on his hind legs, toppling promptly on the pelts before rolling on them lovingly and rising to his paws, lifting them to his back.

Kakariko was fussy about laying them, of course, apologizing to each as he adjusted them. Miss Creamy and Miss Pink didn't want under Mister Grey, whom ever so aamantly wanted to ride Kakariko's tail, which made travel slower by far. Piss Pink also favored riding atop his head but out of his eyes, and where Mister Grey could then ride his back with Miss Cream, the tail demand was ever so fierce, it seemed, giving Miss Cream the look of a cape on him.

And Kakariko was perfectly happy to accomodate. Returning was a slower affair to balance, the male humming as he walked, slowly, but with a small bounce (Miss Pink felt lovely!) and the male had a big smile on his maw as he bobbed about.

He only dropped them individually, only once or twice each, and Kakariko was delighted to be a helper at all, the smile on his face growing more and more as he approached the coalition. Kakariko beamed, walking towards the pcoalition slowly again, and paused at a memory that licked his mind of his father in the win, a murmured love.

Kakariko was no seer, but memory was a fickle beast and this one crept up on him of home. He'd left at night in winter and slipped on ice, and the last thing his father had said was he loved him. Kakariko slumped, looking to his paws and whimpered before composing himself, walking into the coalition with a smile once it returned, almost prancing.

'Hello my friends We have returned!" Kakariko announced himself happily, bounding along and dropping "Miss Cream" only once - ONCE - in his bouncing, and he chirped as he walked, beaming.

"Hello my friends I am home with new things! I'll be going to mercants now!"

And with a needless announcement over, and only a couple odd stares, the male bound to turn his pelts over as was proper, cooing.

Today was a good day.
