When Lieutenant Elin Dera isn't coldly observing the day to day schedules or prodding the nerves of the Scouts over titans, she can be found in her office. She has a small, cot-like bed in the corner, as she frequently stays up at all hours to do paperwork that she would rather burn in the quaint fireplace.

Elin tapped her quill on parchment, repeatedly stabbing a boring and useless document that she knew she'd received several times before. Honey colored eyes looked to the coughing flame in her fireplace, "About time I fed you, huh?" She smiled a little and got up, crumpling the paper and tossing it in. The ginger haired girl stared into the fire, taking a deep breath. Getting the same crap letter over and over...she put her hand against the stone of the chimney, praying for company as the obnoxious note dissolved in the flaming mouth.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Elin "Fox" Dera paced about, waiting for Crystopher. She touched the buns on her head. They were always a bit too tight, causing her aggravation and slight headaches. The young lieutenant wanted to look professional and powerful, as people so frequently doubted her for being more wild and frivolous.
Fitting in might be boring, but it might lead to answers. Which is what she needed. Holding up the silver chain, yellow eyes gazed into the little red jewel hanging from it. She could feel her brother's ghost, his presence in her room. Sometimes she wondered if it was simply to spite her for joining the Military Police instead of the Survey Corps. It made the young woman slouch slightly, sitting on her bed and trying to recall her parents. And, more importantly, her blue-eyed brother. He would have supported her, even if it wasn't doing what he had done.
Elin laid back on her bed, staring at the dull ceiling, her thoughts dimming into boredom as she waited, kicking her feet, enjoying the feeling of her deep chocolate boots.

 Crystopher approached the door and knocked three times "Elin Dera. It's me, Crystopher." Crystopher waited patiently for her answer. While he waited he started reminiscing about when he, Angel and Terrance first met her at the training grounds.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Elin made a small sound of surprise, coming out of her fog. "Come in! I mean--" she cleared her throat and sat up, "You may enter."
She was just a girl back in training camp, and a feral one at that. Growing up on the streets made it very unlikely for her to fraternize with anyone, or trust in anything. Skimpy, but very sly and swift. And the training officer never caught her the time she pick-pocketed him, and for that, Elin was quite proud. In spite of the slightly disheveled room, she kept up appearances of a very good lieutenant, keeping order and using her cunning mind to keep order. Dera had a good heart, but used to be a lot more chaotic, letting her wild ginger hair down. But that was then, and this was now. She was Lieutenant Dera now.

Crystopher walked Into the room and looked at Elin, while she sat there on her bed. "I'm here Elin. As you requested. What is it that you wanted to speak to me about?" Crystopher still looked at her with that emotionless stare. But he's always done that.

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Realizing she was still on her bed, she stood stiffly, blushing. "I can't have my soldiers all thinking I'm just some lax bum, yeah?" Elin looked a lot more normal now, not trying to be someone else. "I-is it too much to ask for another look at a familiar face? Then again, I suppose you don't really like talking about personal things. Yellow eyes searched Crystopher's blank face. His down-to-earth manner was very comforting for someone who never really had that kind of person in their life. Granted, Elin didn't have any figures in her life whatsoever.
Dera nipped her lower lip, thinking. "How are you holding up?", she knew Crystopher had a strenuous family situation, though she didn't necessarily know the full extent of it.

Crystopher thought it was odd that she just wanted to be personal but then again they were friends back in the day. "Angel is fine, I am sure you've seen that when you saw him here today. So me and him are fine." Crystopher sat down in a chair. "And don't worry, I don't really see you as a commanding officer so you can be as lax as you want Elin."

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? "Well, at least you won't have to look out for me again. ...hopefully." Elin sighed, then smiled a little. "And that means I don't have to wear these dumb brain torture devices." She took out the hair elastics and pins, letting her hair fall in untamed ginger wisps. She felt compelled not to part ways with Crystopher and his brother, even though the two of them weren't exactly the most adored of people.
Out of curiosity, Elin found herself asking aloud, "Was there anything you were looking for back there? In the Captain's Office?" It wasn't any bit defensive of Nemo, but she did like to know what was going on."I haven't exactly been able to get out much", she tilted her head over toward the pile of papers on her desk, moving with her casual swagger to sit near Crytopher. "Or will the stone not be gossiping today?" Calling him the stone was just something she hadn't grown out of from training camp.

"Oh, well I was coming in to meet Captain Nemo." Crystopher cracked his neck. " I had no idea he was in an important meeting." Crystopher looks at Elin Dera and examines her. She is almost exactly the same except for a few small changes. "Stone, eh" He smirked. " Elin Dera, were you wondering where Terrance was? "

Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Elin shook her head slightly at the crack of his neck, "that can't be healthy." She sighed and smiled guiltily. "You know me, always curious." Terrance...each of those three were so different, but there was always a weird vibe, like when she thought of her own brother.

"Terrance...is no longer apart of my family. He betrayed us and our parents." He knew she had a brother before but he never really asked her about it. "So, do you feel comfortable telling me about your brother?" Crystopher felt that he needed to be friendlier and nicer to others. Who knows how long you have on this earth. Wouldn't you want to leave it happy and with friends.

 Elin DeraWhat am I missing? Elin inhaled a bit sharply, her right hand instinctively grasping the chain around her neck. "Someone betrayed my parents, too. I suppose that's most of how I ended up here. I was hoping for answers...and I wanted to make my brother proud. He wanted to be a part of the Survey Corps, and he was..." she took a few deep breaths, then looked at Crystopher. "It makes me feel like such a coward, being here like this instead." Yellow eyes traveled to the ground. "Alec was so brave and kind...to get eaten like that..." She fought back tears, sitting up again with fierce determination in her eyes. "I can't just let his story end that way."

Elin DeraWhat am I missing?(tis alright) The young woman felt shaky at first, but Crystopher's presence was clearly soothing her physically, to a degree. "That's the worst part...sometimes, I feel like I'm seeing through his eyes or something...and then I just forget him, almost entirely. Wandering without a purpose or memory, I need to learn what it means." Elin exhaled. "Thank you for listening to such nonsense. I must sound insane." She sounded like she had some very serious secret that she did not know, more alike.
"Say...you don't know anything about titans, do you?" Yellow eyes stared into his. It seemed to be that she was asking about something deeper than what was taught in class.
