Seisuian is a very old restaurant specialising in tradtional delicate food. something like this.... It is a small restaurant, quite dark inside with tatami floor and cushion seating at low tables. The tables are separated by painted paper screens. Upstairs are private rooms for larger parties of people.

Masae always met Ryuu at the same place. A table for two by the window that looked out over the garden. They met as often as possible at noon to discuss the state of business and gossip over the latest happenings in the town.
Of course Masae was early. He had two pet peeves in life, lateness and mismatching kimono. Sighing to himself he tapped his fan rhythmicly on his thigh. The noon chimes had already gone and Ryuu had not yet arrived.
Sighing he looked towards the door and frowned. He only did this because he knew he could get away with it. Typical Ryuu.

There were three things that Ryuu Tsukino lived for; one was perfection, two was sex, and the third was irritating Masae. The third of these was running through his head as he glided into the restaurant, a smirk interrupting his flawless silouhette.
He knew exactly what time he was supposed to arrive. They'd been meeting here for years now, but being on time just wasn't any fun.
Waltzing past the other guests, his icy disposition was on extreme, but as soon as he rounded the corner and saw Masae sitting at the table, ivory skin wrapped in a pale blue kimono, everything simply faded away. Nothing could touch such beauty.

Masae turned his head at the sound of someone approaching. It was Ryuu, not looking the slightest bit apologetic as usual. His jaw set and his eyes narrowed, Masae turned back to the dark wooden table.
"So glad you could join us." He said, his soft voice flat and oozing sarcasm.
Catching the eye of the Gehaka who was serving tables he gestured for their food to be brought. Tucking his fan into his obi he folded his hands in his lap and waited for the teasing to begin.

A complete idiot could tell what Masae was thinking as he turned to faced Ryuu. It was one of the things that Ryuu loved about him. As Masae turned back around Ryuu released a soft giggle.
"Oh come now Masae my dear. You make it much to easy for me."
He sat in one fluid motion and handed his parasol to the gehaka nearby. Smoothing out he wrinkles in his kimono Ryuu glanced across the table at his friend and without hesitation started in in typical Ryuu fashion...
"So, did you get any last night? You look a little peakish. I know a great cure for that."

Masae shifted uncomfortably at Ryuu's open and often crude way of speaking. It was terrible. Did he think everything revolved around sex and 'getting some.'
"Not all of us have such a lack of self control" he said smirking slightly and looking out to the garden. "What kept you?"
It was a sunny day and the trees were reflecting beautifully in the pond. Masae watched it for a few moments, turning back as the Gehaka began placing the many small dishes before them. The food was as beautifully crafted as the plates and bowls they sat on. Each piece a work of art.

Ryuu chuckled, so easy to read. But his face suddenly changed when Masae asked where he'd been. Tossing his hair over his shoulder, and reaching for his tea Ryuu's upper lip turned into a snarl.
"Naota's in town. He demanded I show him how the store was doing, and then we went and had tea with Ichigo. I can't stand that man. He makes my skin crawl. Such tactlessness....not to mention the state of his home." Ryuu shivered at the thought.
Ryuu nodded as the gehaka finished placing the food before them. He would never get tired of this place, such exquisite presentation.

Masae gave Ryuu a sympathetic look. Naota and his own mother had beeen friends for years. Both Haka were equally as demanding and overbearing. Masae was not a fan.
"Well at least you don't have to live with him." Masae sighed picking up the laqure chopsticks. "Shizuka is still trying to set me up. Sometimes I think it would be worth it just to get rid of the old bag." He snorted. Only sometimes though.
"I don't believe I've met Ichigo." He said picking up a piece of crisp tempura. "What kind of business is he in? It can't be a good one if he is such a state." Masae laughed a little before placing the food in his mouth.

Ryuu's eyes went wide at the mention of Shizuka. If there was anyone on the planet that could match his own mother it was Shizuka. Ryuu had nothing but sympathy for Masae.
"And I thank the gods each day for that blessing..." He grinned. "You know, the invitation still stands for you to come live with me. There is plenty of room. You'd hardly ever see me." He grinned again, then slipped a piece of tempura into his mouth.
Staring out into the garden Ryuu answered Masae carefully, picking and choosing his words.
"Ichigo is...a friend of the family let's say, and apparently my mother's new project." he grumbled, and slowly set his crimson chopsticks down.
"He's taken it upon himself to help this man out, for what unfathomable reason I can't understand. But what gets me the most is that he's trying to get me to use my position to help this man out. It's disgusting."
Ryuu did his best to contain his disdain by thinking about the meal, Masae and the beautiful view.
"Sometimes I wish I'd never accepted the position."

Masae shook his head and laughed at Ryuu's suggestion of house sharing.
"Share your den of debauchery." He said flicking a stray piece of hair out of his eye. "I think I'd rather take my chances with Shizuka." Though the offer was tempting, it would be slightly degrading to have to live off another Haka's livelyhood. Not to mention Ryuu's reputation for nocturnal activities. Just the thought of interacting with a Gehaka in such a way made Masae shudder.
Watching Ryuu's expression closely he listened to him talk about Ichigo and nodded. "He sounds awful...I'd love to meet him." Masae laughed, shooting Ryuu a conspirital grin.
"You regret your position on the council?" He asked with a hint of concern. He had never heard Ryuu express such a thought.

Ryuu smirked. "You'd probably like him...he has the same, zest for life that you do." His tone was flat and oozing sarcasm.
Glancing across the table at Masae, Ryuu caught his note of concern.
"Of course I don't." he laughed, trying to conceal the truth. "i'm introduced daily to some of the most beautiful haka in the land. Who in their right mind would give that up?"
Sliding another piece of tempura into his mouth he smiled. The last thing he needed was Masae getting all depressed and motherly. It ruined his complection, something Ryuu wouldn't stand for.
"But seriously, my home is always open to you. We can only take so much of our mothers before it becomes bad for our health..."

Masae chewed one of the delightful pickles and gave a light smirk at Ryuu's slight on him.
"Ha, no wonder you hate him." He joked grinning as he picked up his tea cup and held it up to admire the pattern.
Masae laughed at his comment about mothers. "So very true. Shizuka drives me insane on a daily basis." He paused to look at Ryuu thoughtfully and place his cup down. "You know Ryuu, you want to be carefull what you say. I am now seriously considering taking you up on that offer."
Despite his earlier thoughts, it did make sense. Joking aside Ryuu would leave him be, no nagging or pressure. He would still work in his mother's shop so she wouldn't get too upset.

Ryuu shot Masae a cheeky look. "Be still my heart....just say the word and half the estate is yours." He winked, and blew a kiss across the table. "It just sits there anyway, unused. I think right now we've actually got some of my mother's furniture stored there, which you're more than welcome to rummage through."
Secretly he seriously hoped that Masae would take him up on his offer. Sure the gehaka had their use, but Masae offered something that no one would ever be able to replace. True friendship. In a way he cherished it even more than the carnal world. Everything had it's place.
Ryuu let out a soft groan. "Masae my love...I'm so bored. I need a distraction..."

Ryuu's antics alomst had him changing his mind. But he wasn't that stupid. He needed to get out of his mother's house before he was driven insane. Her constant nagging and demands had him constantly hiding in his room in desperation to avoid her.
Placing a piece of tofu in his mouth he chewed thoughtfully before bringing his eyes to meet Ryuu's.
"All right." He sighed putting his chopsticks down on the rest. "I'll accept your offer. But only until I can take over my mother's business. I don't want to impose." A rare genuine smile crossed his lips as he moved back from the table a little.
"Tsukino-sama. Thank you." He said placing his hands on the tatami and bowing his pale forehead down to touch them.

Ryuu had been staring out the window into the garden, lost in thought. He hadn't noticed Masae move away from the table, let alone bow down. So without thought, or knowing, he placed a piece of tempura in his mouth and turned towards Masae wondering why he'd gone so quiet all of a sudden.
The sight that Ryuu was met with almost caused him to forcefully expell the tempura, instead, due to Ryuu inhaling sharply, the tempura travelled the other direction and lodged itself in his throat. The attending gehaka rushed to his side to make sure he wasn't in any immediate danger, Ryuu brushed them away, visibly showing them the piece of food. Then turned back to Masae.
"s**t Masae. Are you trying to kill me? And stop bowing, I appreciate the gesture but it isn't necessary. You know full well that you and your family are forever welcome in my home." He sighed, resting his chin in his hand. "What am I going to do with you?"
