There was one thing Anguis should have been used to now honestly and it was chasing after Forera whenever she went on one of her crazy adventures. It only made sense he tagged along whenever she went, considering she never listened to his reasons on why whatever she was doing was a terrible idea that was bound to get her in some form of trouble, yet it still was always a (terrible) surprise that was usually filled with some form of grumbling and passive aggressive remarks on his part that ended with an argument between the pair before the trip was over.
Tonight was no different, just another setting and a taller version of Forera for Anguis to chase after with worried remarks. He still hadn't hit his growth spurt yet, much to his annoyance and Forera's glee, and Dragondad was wrapped around his arm as he waded through the plains that Forera had decided to go trekking through this night. While this wasn't the most dangerous place Forera had chosen to go to (Busthind came to mind many a time), it still wasn't the most secure and Anguis was feeling a little nervous.
"Reeeraaaa," Anguis whined, a frown on his face, "Slow down, you're way ahead of me. Why are we even here? I thought you were going mountain climbing or something. Not that I want you to, seriously, last time you nearly knocked yourself out." That was not something he wanted to deal with again, although it had been kinda funny a little later. He was definitely not going to admit that to Forera of all people though.

Curious eyes examined every thing moving on the plains, from hives to stupid junk on the floor, giving a specific tealblood the excitement and curiosity to do more. As she bounded through the plains, confident and happy for once after the rehab she took recently(and her, ahem, amazing growth spurt). Ganyma's face still lingered on her mind, the terrified faces of her friends still haunted her nightmares, but Forera held it down. She was getting better at that, recently. But not today! Today she wasn't going to think about that at all. Not once, not twice, not three times— Just NOPE! She looked back to her brother's young face and stuck out her tongue, wiggling it all over as she continued to run away from him eagerly, excitedly, wanting to find something amazing to shove right in her brothers adorable kid face.
Dear Jegus, she was never gonna let him live it down. He could get the biggest growth spurt on the planet after this, but she didn't care. All that mattered was that she beat him. I mean, she usually did, of COURSE, but the fact still stood that genetics chose HER FIRST!! "Oh my goooog, Angs, STOOP being butthurt about meeeee growing faster than, like, yooou— I'm NOOT slowing down fer ya!! Y'don't have my awwwesome long legs!! I've GOTTA use them while I have em, hehehe!!" She giggled wildly, finally stopping and turning toward him.
"We're here bbeeeeCAAAAUSEEE...." She paused for a moment for dramatic effect, looking around secretly and bending in, getting closer and closer until she was right in front of his face. "I heaaard there was a, like, a wild musclebeast around here." She pulled out her scalpel, admiring it in the moonlight and touching it slightly. "We should take it down, cook it up, and make some DEEEEEELICIOUS burgers!!" She exclaimed, still extremely near him and then pulling away, continuing her search for the musclebeast, her excitement for food making her bounce off the walls.

Anguis scowled deeply at Forera's jab at his height, a faint hint of teal flush rising to his face. Just because she had grown first, she was going around making a big deal about it. It wasn't like he couldn't grow too! "It's not like you're going to lose your legs anytime soon!! A-And besides, I'll grow soon too! I'll be taller than you then and have longer legs and I'll be way cooler! He huffed, vowing that he'd most definitely grow up to be better. He was training for it with Dragondad anyways!
If he hadn't been paying so much attention to Forera he would have ran straight into her when she stopped. As it was, he still barely managed to skid to a stop, his scowl deepening as she put her face down to his level. As he was about to ask her to just tell him already Forera OH MY GOG, she finished her statement. Which was probably the stupidest thing he had ever heard.
"Forera you can't down a musclebeast by yourself!" Anguis said, already running after her again. "Dragondad won't let me fight and all you have is your scapel! What if you get hurt? Seriously Forera!!" His scowl had disappeared into some measure of concern, although knowing her it'd be back soon.

The accomplished grin that spread across Forera's face when she saw Anguis's face grow teal made Forera one happy camper! "Whoooo knows?? I miiight!" She giggled loudly, hearing his words and rolling her eyes. She placed two hands on her hips and puffed out her chest, huffing at her brother with pride. "I'll still be, like, older aaaannnnd taller than you!" Sticking her tongue out again, her nose jutted up, teeth pulled into a devilish smile as she heard him huff, then continued bounding away from him, cackling like a maniac.
Hearing her brothers skeptic comments, Forera couldn't help but turn back and give him a disappointing pout. "I caaaaan. And I WILL!! Watch me!" She exclaimed, rushing away like an idiot, her familiar shriek of laughter echoing behind her as she jumped from one place to another with a another hearty laugh— "I'll like, NEEEVERRR get hurt, Anguis, don't WORRY so much, jeeeeeeeeze!! I'm practically IMMORTAALL!" She shrieked, enjoying this, waving her scalpel all over the place as she searched for the musclebeast, horribly anxious to get some food in her stomach. "COMMEEERREEE MUSCLEEBEAASTT! Commooveerrr'reeee!!"

"Rera!! Don't say things like that!" He sulked, the idea of her losing her legs unlikely but still an unhappy hypothetical. Even if she was adventurous, surely she wasn't dumb enough to lose some limbs. Anguis had some faith in Forera and although it was weak and tiny, it was there. "Anyways I'm the older one and you know it!! You won't be taller than me forever!!" He yelled, Forera easily getting a rise out of him as his scowl deepened. He was the older brother, she just happened to grow earlier than him. Dragondad had said it was perfectly normal anyways and totally nothing to be worried about. At all. In any way whatsoever. (Dragondad might have been extending the truth there but Anguis refused to believe that idea for a second.)
Anguis could only roll his eyes at that completely wrong comment. Forera was very far from being immortal and he could prove it in lots of ways. When they wrestled and he managed to bruise her was one. Which, true, wasn't often but it was enough to prove she was wrong and could get hurt. Which he would totally point out if he wasn't gasping for air behind her, seriously where did she get all this energy? "You're not-," He managed between gasps, "immortal." There was one last effort he made to catch up before he flopped down dramatically in the fields, laying on his back and desperately trying to catch his breath. "I can't keep up with you." He said quietly, although it was probably unheard amidst her shouts.

"Say things like whaaaat?" Forera responded with a grin, wiggling her tush and turning around to look at him, a loud cackle echoing from her small body. She's never loose a body part, please, it was just poking fun at Anguis. He could be SUCH a stuffy worrywart at times! "Older, shmolder, bro! Age don't mean jackshit!"The tealblooded twin let out a loud giggle, boisterous in her movements, hardly caring for a thing he said about not being immortal— Instead she kept running around, eyes darting around the area like a mad woman.
After hearing a loud THWUMP after she stopped running, and turned to see Anguis, laying face up on the ground. With a small pant, she crossed her arms. "HEEEEEYYYYY, ANGUUIISSSS, WHAT'CHA DOIN' LAYIN' ON THE FLOOORR?" She yelled, running over toward him and dragondad. She stopped right neqdo him, arms still crossed, looking at him and frowning. "Y' left me on my lonesome, bro. That wasn't coooool!" She whined, giving him a big frown and huffing a little. GUH, whatever, she shoulda just left him! But nooo, he was important to her. Eeeh, why was he being such a bore?? Looking up at the stars, the tealblood bit her lip and sighed, joining Anguis on the ground. She'd bite... Hopefully he was just playing a game.

"You knoow what!!" Anguis whined, taking her bait despite knowing the trap. He gave a half-hearted kick at her butt, a grimace on his face at the action. She was such a butt sometimes, seriously! She always managed to prod at his buttons, despite his best efforts. He rolled his eyes at the last comment, not even bothering to try and argue that. He was right but she wouldn't ever hear it, not with her current height over him.
Taking a beat to just stare at the sky, he was a little surprised for Forera to come over and lay near him. He enjoyed a few seconds of silence before quietly replying with a snort"I could say the same to you, I can't keep up with you." but fell silent for a few more minutes. His hand wormed out to find Forera's hand, squeezing it gently as he stared up at the stars. "Hey Rera, ever wonder what'll happen when we grow up? We'll be together, right?" Anguis asked quietly, far more serious than he had been earlier. It was hard to think so far ahead, the two of them, but it was something to chew on.

"Y'don't need to keep up with me, bro. I know how'ta take care of myself!" Forera giggled, letting out even more giggles after he kicked her. She slowly calmed down in the silence, feeling strangely at peace in the empty plains-- Better than those nights where instead of silence she heard buildings, falling... The thought made her eyes droop, resurfacing bad memories, memories she swore she'd push down.
Soon, Forera was pulled out of her thoughts, feeling a small hand slide into her own and give her a squeeze. Startled, the taller tealblood shifted to look at Anguis. She then gave him a small grin, reaching with her other hand and squeezing his cheek. Urgh, feeling questions. She had enough of those when she was at the rehab center. But oh well, he was her brother, she didn't mind."Mm, we grow up, I guess!" She responded, shrugging. "It just somethin' that happens. And, hehe, do ya really need t' ask?! I'm your eggtwin! That praactically means our destinies are like, entwined or somethin'." Forera gave a small gigglesnort, sliding a hand into her brothers hair and ruffling it. "We'll always be together. I promise, bro!! Now, c'mon, lets go catch that musclebeast!"

"That's a lie. You'd starve if I didn't go and get food." Anguis deadpanned, but smiled that his kicked landed (and possibly at her reaction, the giggles nearly infectious). It wasn't too quiet, just them, and it was a rare moment when it wasn't the chaotic bustle of the city. It reminded him of home, but better since Forera was around.
Anguis frowned at the cheek squeeze, but it was Forera and he'd tolerate it for her. The grin was returned easily there and stayed as he listened to her, contemplating her reply. It was, well, completely Forera but it was comforting. "Yeah, I guess we are." He replied quietly, not even complaining at the ruffling of his hair for once. He sighed, then was silent for a minute before sitting up. "I guess, but only for a little longer. If we haven't scared the thing off with all your shouting." He said, poking her cheek now with a mischievous grin.
