The sunset-coloured wind seemed to have found himself...in quite the predicament. His ears swept back, Adelis himself took a half-step back. Yes. Yes, indeed, quite the predicament.

"I apologise. I'm very sorry we nearly had a mid-air collision."

But it wasn't like they'd actually collided! He'd actually managed to avert a flying disaster, this time. The stallion had been enjoying some good, old-fashioned stretching of his wings and his flight capabilities - this time not with a barrel roll - when he chanced upon a group in the air at an ill-fated moment. He'd worked at performing aerial stunts before, and had temporary scrapes and a permanent scar or two as proof. Heck, he had even met a friend when he mis-judged how much room he would need and wound up crashing into the trees of the forest, below

She then told him to apologise for the damage he had wrought upon them. And so he had apologised, to the trees, of all beings. Ah, but she was a very blunt lady, but right as rain in his books. Perhaps he'd go visit her at some point.

But right at this moment it seemed that the Great Spirits might be telling him he should lay off the aerial antics for a while, though he enjoyed them so, because this time... This time Adelis was thinking he had bitten off more than he could chew.

He hopped to the side as a lick of flame from the fire Ulun'suti darted his way after the Soquili in question shook her mane. They were all upset, angry. And hostile.

In fact, Adelis had a hard time keeping up with what they were saying to him. Overall, he was starting to think that this wasn't actually about the accident that nearly happened. It was starting to look like they were simply an aggressive group. There was also a Kalona, and - oddly enough, though things like this shouldn't have surprised him - what looked to be a Flutter-Unicorn. Breed generalizations aside - and he had never actually encountered an Ulun'suti before - he was more surprised at the Flutter crossbreed's hostility. The Kalona was touch and go, as far as he was concerned; his mother's lifemate wasn't a bad sort, but he was gruff and protective, and had no qualms about being direct and aggressive when necessary.

The Wind opened his mouth to speak, but, shut it as he wasn't able to get a word in, edge-wise. Three against one wasn't exactly good odds. Not even when two of the three could fly just as fast, or faster, than him. Adelis backed away another few steps as the group advanced, keeping his haunches as well away from the trio as he could.

They were beginning to fan out around him.

'This...really isn't my day.'

From the ground, Diantha had been able to clearly witness the sequence of events. She'd idly watched as the stallion did his aerial stunts, but watched all the closer when things looked like they might be getting dangerous. The stallion almost collided with another flyer. They appeared to have avoided any real damage, but Diantha could tell that the stallion was due for a tongue-lashing. That sort of petty argument didn't concern her. What did worry her was what looked like a small herd following after, and the sounds of something a bit more threatening than a simple chastisement.

Diantha frowned. The stallion had been behaving irresponsibly, but no one had been hurt. She began to walk over to the confrontation, ears pricking up to better hear what was going on. What she heard pleased her even less. Though no one had been hurt yet, it sounded like the stallion might be if the other group had its way. She quickened her pace. When she reached them, her suspicions were confirmed. The three aggressors looked like they were about to start taking pieces out of the unlucky stallion.

She didn't put herself in front of the stallion, but she positioned herself firmly between the two groups. "You three need to go," she told the group sternly. She knew she cut an impressive figure with her eight wings, paws, fangs, and armor. While this sometimes led to misunderstandings in a casual setting, she was glad for her intimidating appearance now.

Adelis back-pedalled quickly, in the process managing to step on his tail, making it jerk rather awkwardly, his head lifting with a little wince each time. His ears swept back as a dismayed expression crossed his features. Clearly, he wasn't looking for a fight at all.

So when a stranger with not one but four sets of leathery wings - much like a Kalona or even akin to the Ulun'suti aside from the number - put...herself between them he didn't slow immediately. It was only when she spoke out to his rather intent 'friends' that he finally slowed to a stop—kicking his tail out to the side. He was wary for a moment, wondering if by chance he would be in trouble with her, too, if there was more than met the eye. Still, he tried not to judge, as by her actions she was actually helping him. She could very well just be a Good Samaritan, stepping in to prevent a fight with no ulterior motive.

The diminutive Fluttercorn puffed up, obviously indignant. But it was her eyes that would give her diminished confidence away despite the irritated, twitching vibrations of her wings.

"It's none of your business!" Came the snippy response, her fury redirected somewhat. But not wholly, as her eyes flickered to catch even a glimpse of the bright stallion behind the sudden arrival.

The Kalona, however, keeping pace with the Ulun'suti as they stepped forward, was more careful to size the mare up. She had quite the plethora of weapons, and the armour served to reinforce that it wasn't going to be a bluff if she decided to come at them. Despite he lick of irritated flame that seemed to be ejected from the last part of their group, he shook his head.

"Not worth it, Litha."

He could fight, the Fluttercorn was certainly...tenacious, and even with their third, he gauged that everyone would be more than battered and bruised. One stallion wasn't worth it. Despite his own frustration with the flying dolt, he'd apologised, and the potential for injury just wasn't worth it.

He turned, and stepped away, unhurried and apparently undaunted. The Suti watched a moment, then grunted a sigh and turned, leaving Litha to gape. The mare huffed, cast one last glare at the mare and stallion behind her, and shrank to quickly flit over to the Kalona, peppering him with questions and ranting her frustrations as they left.

Adelis heaved a cautious breath, one ear quirked back while the other flipped forward. His own half-brother wouldn't have been as smart as the full Kalona; he would have challenged her just like the Fluttercorn was going to. While the stallion that mirrored the sunset was curious as to her skill, he was ultimately thankful he didn't have to witness it right this moment.

"...while you did not have to step in, I'm grateful you did." He shifted on his hooves, uncertain. "Thank you, miss..?"
