Rastian hated dealing with all the things left over by the war, especially the troves of empty animal crates seemingly strewn everywhere as far as the eye could see. So many familiars were now lost out there in the woods and might have already ended up as meals for the larger animals. The Monk sighed as he turned his attention towards a set of smaller crates leaned up against the side of a hut and placed his hand upon them as if idly hoping for the survival of the animal that had slept inside it. Why would people bring their pets to war? Had they really thought that they would be moving in for certain? What a stupid thing to hope for, nothing was ever guaranteed like that. He pursed his lips and leaned against a larger crate, just as a soft, purring sound caught his attention.
"What the...?" He muttered, peering down at the strange creature sitting before him. What was that awful looking thing? Where was all it's fur? He stood back and knocked into the crates, creating a terrible rattling sound. The animal, visibly startled, raced towards the trees and scurried up into them like some sort of speed demon. Rastian stared, almost frightened, and slowly moved away from the area. Whatever that thing was, it was creepy as hell and he wanted no part in sitting around and waiting for it to come back down. Still, as he moved away from the area, he wondered just what sort of noise it had made. Was it muttering at him? He'd never heard anything like that before!
