The war was finally over.
Aaran sat with his hands in his lap, his mind deep in thought. How long had he been away from Sauti? Had he really been out there fighting with warriors ten times his size? The idea still sent chills down his spine as he compared his hands to that of the warriors he had seen and he settled his back against the side of the rock he'd been sitting on. He sighed, suppose he'd been there, suppose he'd battled pretty well. It really didn't matter did it? At the end of the day, he was still a prentice, still nothing special...
His brother would've bopped him on the head by now if he were still alive.
"Ehhh..." He heaved, stretching himself forward. "Wonder when everyone is coming back from Tale... So boring out here."

Mano found himself starring at another one of the golden haired people of Sauti and he couldn't help but to murmured, "Praise be to On'os." The God of Fortune really did keep leading him to the cutest of Wind Tribesmen, didn't he? First Kyrian, now this cutie, now the big question became how innocent this one was. Was he like Kyrian? Someone pretty oblivious to... well, everything? Was he more like Mano was on a distant relation to innocent? Maybe he was something that was in between those two opposites? Time to find out he though tot himself as he walked over toward him, his footsteps quiet as he went. Walking softly, unless he wanted to be noticed, was something that he blamed entirely on past training. It was easiest to slip up alongside his targets if he was quiet after all, just seeming to 'appear' near to those he was supposed to distract, amongst other things. The boy seemed to be a bit distant, huh? Mentally more the physically, Mano bet he could reach out and poke the one that he was moving toward, but instead decided to settle down alongside him, listening to him talk, and found himself thinking that the guy was talking to him. He must have noticed him he thought to himself, a shame, he thought he was better at slipping around from place to place then that but no matter, maybe he had training too? Turning to look toward him Mano said, "I agree, it is kind of boring at the moment." As for the other thing, about when others might be returning from Tale, that wasn't something Mano knew. He wasn't there during the war after all, so he was a bit out of the loop about what had been going on there. He was a bit curious though, people said that the Obans, who'd always appeared invincible, had been beaten. It was something he was said he missed, mostly because it was so hard to believe for someone like Mano. He'd lived amongst the Obans for a while now and the idea of anything beating them but one another due to political reasons and subterfuge, it was altogether strange to him. He wondered how much this one knew about the war that Mano had completely missed out on. Maybe he could ask him?

To say that Aaran had noticed Mano would be as correct as saying you could make fire from water. The prentice nearly leaped up in surprise as Mano suddenly appeared beside him, his eyes wide as bullets. What? Where? How? WHO? His expression finally settled into that of reasonable shock and tilted to the side, as if he were questioning his perception of the situation. Wasn't this guy one of those water people? From Matori? Why was he so far from home? Was he exploring? Aaran allowed his mind to roll through the questions before finally taking a breath in to speak.
"UH. Yeeeaaaaah." He replied, his eyebrows seemingly in a permanent arch. "...Who are you? Where did you come from? ... HI?"

Oops, it would seem as though he were wrong about the boy having noticed him Mano thought to himself as he saw the way that he jumped in such a manner, showing he was startled when Mano spoke up. Good, that meant that he wasn't osing his touch he thought to himself before he gave the man as smile, unable to help but to chuckle a little bit. A moment later there were the expected questions being posed to him, something that had him answering easy enough, "My name is Mano, I am from Oba, and hello to you too." He said, sounding as amused as he was sure that he looked but he just couldn't help it, there was something too fun about startling such cuties, "What about you? What's is your name?" He asked in a curious manner. Reaching a hand out it brushed a lock of hair of the Wind boy's hair back to tuck it behind his ear before he said, "I do hope that you can forgive me for startling you, I was sure that you had noticed me when I sat down next to you." He leaned in a little closer to him, inspecting him closely, before he said, "Mmm, you really are quite adorable, aren't you? I must say On'os really is leading me to the most amazing places to meet the most adorable people. The God of Fortune really is on my side these days."

Aaran wiggled backwards as Mano leaned in to inspect him, his eyes growing wide. He was Oban? But Obans were dark skinned. Was he a former slave? He vaguely recalled hearing something about slavery during the war, but couldn't remember exactly when. Was it before or after they'd won? He paused to think on it a bit before Mano's words broke through his thoughts.
"Adorable? Me? I MEAN-" He squeaked, flailing weakly at Mano's hands. "Could you-uh-Don't touch my hair, please? I just met you and I don't know you and-"
He paused, blushing, and forced himself to sit with his hands on his knees.
"I apologize, you're new here. I'm Aaran." He said, his eyebrows furrowing. "Who's On'os? Are they here?"

Mano nodded his head, "Yes, adorable you. I think I am becoming a fast fan of the golden hair that your tribe has, it's quite lovely. Especially the way that it sparkles in the sunlight like some sort of rare treasure." He told him, taking in his reaction, and found himself wondering if all Wind Tribesmen were equally as naive and innocent of the world. It made him like them that much, as well as envy them just a bit, not that he would admit to the latter of course. Instead he merely smile, "Don't touch your hair? Why not? It's quite pretty and silky, I'd be only too happy to run my fingers through it all day." He all but purred at the pretty boy before him. "Ohhh, I see, it's because we just met. We should get to know each other then so that we can be more hands on in our dealings with one another." Mano said, giving his companion a wink. When the Wind Tribesman finally introduced himself Mano couldn't help but to grin, "Aaran is it? A nice name, so Aaran, does this mean that we know each other now?" He asked in a joking manner, wondering how brightly he might be able to get him to blush if he tried. What he said next though did well in distracting Mano a bit if only because it was the cutest thing ever, "On'os, the God of Time and Fortune. As for if he is here with me I would have to say yes, I have had rather good fortune of late so surely he must have blessed me many times over. Especially to come across another beauty from the Wind Tribe."

Aaran's eyes widened further while his hands slid ever forward down his knees until he nearly slid forward and into the dirt underneath him. He raised a hand upwards and coiled it in front of his mouth. Oh, Bergchi, oh, Bergchiii. What in the name of Tendaji was he supposed to do about this... This... Fishman? Was that something he could call him? His shoulders arched at the thought. Would that be offensive? Fishman? His lips twisted and curved. Perhaps it would be best to think of the correctness of that at a later time, he had other things to be thinking about.
Like all of these compliments!
"I-I yes, I will admit that you're correct about the texture and quality of my hair, but-" His words trailed off as Mano continued to speak. Hands on? What did he mean by that? He'd barely known the man five minutes, he couldn't possibly mean that sort of-BUT WHAT IF HE DID? Oh, dear, oh dear! He wasn't ready for something as wild as that! ... Was he? Again, he paused, considering the thought, until he managed to shake himself free again. No, no, no! What was he thinking? He wanted to be properly wooed, not just overtaken by some exotic fishman! ... But he wasn't hard to look at, was he? Maybe just a little roll in the hills would be enou-NO. He wasn't that sort of boy. He needed time and the confidence to stand up for himself in this moment! He shut his eyes tight, sucked in a breath, and looked Mano in the eye.
"Yes, we know each other! I mean, wait, huh?" He, stammered, mentally cursing himself for being so easily distracted. "God of Time and Fortune? That must be quite a burden, guarding all of Time and blessing people with riches all the time! Where do you think he finds it all? Assuming he doesn't just wave his hands around in the air and conjure money like a healer does ice from the rain."

Mano couldn't help but to chuckle at the manner in which this pretty Wind Tribesman was stuttering and getting his words all jumbled up. Kyrian was adorable in a rather oblvious way but this boy, he was positive that he knew exactly what Mano was talking about when he was flirting it up with him and the results of he words were quite amazing. How he wanted nothing more then to lay claim to him straight away before someone else scooped him up. Only for a little while of course, he didn't want to be selfish with such a sweet boy after all he thought to himself, giving a grin, "Aweasome! I am glad to hear that we know each other then." Lifting his hands up he slid them against Aaran's cheeks lightly, his thumb brushing against his lips, before he said, "I think we should celebrate our most joyous meeting with a kiss then." He gave him a smile and a wink before he leaned in, about to steal one when it seemed that Aaran had a bunch more questions for him... perhaps in an attempt to distract him from his goal? Giving a smile he said, "Well, I doubt it's difficult to be in charge of the good fortune of those who pray to him when he's the God of Time as well, he would after all have all the time in the world to bless the faithful. Just as he blessed me in allowing me to meet you." He gave Aaran a wink before leaning in to steal his kiss.

Aaran's body tensed as Mano moved his hands along his cheeks and subconsciously leaned forward, before his mind caught up with him again. No, this wasn't right! He was being touched intimately by a stranger! His face flushed red while the rest of his mind tried to find a way to turn away from Mano without outright shoving him to the ground, only to become as stiff as a board as the other leaned in. What was he doing? Why was this happening? He wasn't ready for this!
But, despite himself, Aaran allowed the kiss. His lips trembled along with his heartbeat and lingered, lightly, upon the lips of the other. He had to admit, for this short moment, that the kiss had been enjoyable, even if it weren't what he had wanted, per say. His hands moved upwards and towards Mano's chest, as if he wanted to push the other off, only to return to his sides as he pulled his face away instead.
"Aah, heh, ah... Ha." He stammered, his shoulders arching. "S-so, he d-doesn't actually give you m-money? Just... Luck?"

Mano starred at the Wind Tribesman for a long moment, his golden eyes going a little wide before he started to laugh. He just couldn't help it, the way that the boy was trying to continue on with a normal conversation as though their kiss had never happened. Lifting his arms to cross them behind his head he said, "You're too cute, my golden haired beauty." He was trying to hard to act as though the kiss never happened, not a good sign. It seemed as though he wasn't really interested, was he? A shame, he was a cute one and he would have enjoy getting closer to him. Seemed he was a bit too innocent though, just like Kyrian.
Giving him a smile he said, "I am sure there are those would pray to him for money, but it's not something that I am desperate for." He told Aaran before he pushed up to his feet, stretching out all over, "There are things in the world that are far more interesting and far more important to me then something as simple as money." Curious he asked, "What about you? If you were to ask something of On'os what would you want the God of Time and Fortune to bless you with?" What might a member of the Wind Tribe as sweet and innocent as this one ask On'os for? He couldn't begin to guess.

Aaran leaned to the side as Mano complimented him again and gazed to him with the slightest bit more affection than before. Was he truly embarrassed by this? Someone kissing him and giving him attention? His knees squeezed together as his hands rose to touch the heat on his cheeks, before lowering back to his sides and relaxing. It was nice, just... A little too much for him right now.
"A-ah, I have to agree with you." He replied, a smile curling onto his features. "I find that family is more impo-"
His voice cut off at Mano's next question. What would he want On'os to bless him with? The prentice's eyes widened, his expression faltering into despair. That question... Well. It only had one answer and one answer alone.
"I'd beg for my brother's soul." He said, his hands intertwining as he spoke. "Nothing more, nothing less."

Mano gave a smile, at least until Aaran's mention of it being family that was most important. It was something that caused Mano's smile to falter just a bit before he forced its returned, "I see." He knew nothing about such things, not recently at least, not since he'd been taken by his master to serve in Oba. He could remember his family, vaguely, but when he went back to try to find them after he was freed... he shook his head to clear such thoughts, not wanting to think about it.
"Your brother's soul?" He asked, head tilting to one side before he gave him a smile, "You're a kind one, though On'os isn't the one you would want to pray to. Instead of Ome Essd, the Queen of the Gods, she is in charge of life and death, if it's his soul you want to see protect she is the best to ask." He explained to the Wind Tribesman, assuming he knew nothing of the Gods and Goddesses that they worshiped back where Mano was from.
Reaching out he ruffled Aaran's soft hair and said, "I will pray to the Ome Essd for your brother's soul. Can you tell me his name for my prayers?" He asked of Aaran, feeling that there was no reason why he couldn't add the Wind Tribeman's brother to his prayers.

Aaran's head gave a tilt as Mano spoke, the tears in his eyes glistening against the sunlight. Ome... Essd...? He moved closer to Mano, almost in awe, and listened. The queen of Gods, like Bergchi? He'd already prayed a thousand times to Bergchi and Gattick hadn't come home. ...Maybe a different Goddess would listen to him?
"Ome Essd..." He repeated, his mouth slowly wrapping it's way around the name. "I didn't know there was a queen Goddess..."
His eyes drifted up from the ground as Mano asked his next question and a sigh slid out from Aaran's mouth.
"Gattick." He said, his lip quivering. "He was my hero. He never once let me down when I needed him the most. I miss him so much..." He paused, giving Mano a weak smile. "Thank you, I really appreciate that. My own Goddess doesn't seem to be listening to me at all. It's disconcerting..."

Mano nodded, "Yes, she is a wonderful Goddess, one that I pray to often along with Nessat, the King of the Gods." He explained to Aaran, wondering for a moment if he shouldn't have brought up such serious things with him. He had no idea that his brother was gone, he didn't meant to make such a cutie so upset, looking like he might burst into tears at any moment. It was far from the expression that he'd prefer to see on the pretty boy's face he thought to himself. He felt a bit disappointed in himself for causing that reaction in Aaran.
"Gattick, is it? I will pray to Ome Essd for him, perhaps even some of the others that I think might take interest in him. You say he is a hero so perhaps Jonal will find interest in your brother as well as well." He offered, knowing that if he was a true hero that Jonal, the God of men and war, would be interested in such a soul as well. When it came to looking after this man called Gattick it might be best to pray to any God or Goddess whose aid may apply to him. If it meant helping Aaran, who he found so cute, he didn't mind.

Aaran, finding comfort in Mano's words, allowed himself to lean towards the other's shoulder and rest. Ome Essd and Nessat, they were very comforting names, weren't they? He smiled and couldn't help himself but to picture a pair of Gods standing together and enveloping his brother in a warm, healing embrace. Maybe they'd find his resting place and bring him home to Sauti if he prayed just as much as Mano did. It was a calming thought, one that dried the tears welling in his eyes and steadied his heartbeat. Gattick was safe, Aaran just needed to remain positive...
"Thank you, Mano. It... Really means a lot to me to hear someone say that." He replied.
His gaze left the other's face for a moment before turning back to look Mano in the eyes, his expression clearly that of debating something. It was a moment later that Aaran leaned upwards and gave Mano a gentle kiss on his cheek, before he returned to his nervous state of blushing.
"Ahem, ah, what about your parents?" He asked. "Did they make it through the war...?"
