Leucite walked through the fun house on his way to another interrogation. It was moments like this that he was glad that he'd spent so much time around the Military Police of his father's command. He'd been interrogated his fair share - by his father and his father's men, but now he was the one asking the questions...

Entering the holding area of the senshi, he really wished he'd thought of bringing some advanced interrogation tools. Oh well - no matter - he'd have to do with his hands for now.

He checked the bonds of the girl, ensuring that she was securely fastened to the chair. He also checked the bonds on her ankles, which led to a some eyelets in the floor to ensure that she remained in the locale. Finally he moved in front of her.

She was younger than him - by how much he couldn't tell. But she was a tiny little thing in his opinion. He lifted her chin slowly with his index finger. His brown eyes - full of the promise of pain and dripping with venom and malice - locked onto her blues.

"Hello," He chuckled drly. "I hope your stay has been... hospitable..."

He dropped his hand and took a step back. "Now then, let's start with something simple... What is your name?"

Amphitrite had been on edge from the moment he'd set foot in the room. She had to be. She didn't have many up close and personal dealings with the negaverse officers before this - and since she'd come here, every reaction had been a little bit different. Some talked sweetly and softly. Some came with fists already balled, seemingly eager to take free swings at any senshi they could get to.

It surprised that her seemingly, Cinnabar had talked to someone about making her more comfortable. At least, Amphitrite supposed being stuck to a chair was more comfortable than being sprawled on a hard floor. Maybe she was just trying to look on the bright side where she could find it.

So she'd gotten punched, slapped, spat at, leered at. Didn't mean she enjoyed any of it, but... she could hear screams. So many screams. If Amphitrite just kept doing what she was doing, if she just kept her head down and kept out of trouble, played up being as pathetic as she was when she had to, then maybe...

He was talking now, the new officer. She drew in a soft breath and answered calmly, "Sailor Amphitrite, senshi of seashells. Before you ask, I'm not part of any team. I also don't know how the glowing works." This wasn't the first time someone had come to question her. She had nothing of worth, but the faster she answered, the faster this would be over, right? - to give him no reason to be annoyed. Something about the way he looked at her unnerved her, and she badly wanted to look away.

Amphitrite, interesting. Leucite clicked his tongue slowly, watching the girl for a moment. "I don't think you understood me, allow me to repeat myself." He spoke slowly, like he was talking to a dog... or someone REALLY slow.

"What. Is. Your. Name." He didn't want her name in this form - he wanted her REAL name. A name he could use - that he could track down and exploit.

"Or, if you're going to be obstinate... how many of your kind are out there?" Troop movements would work if noting else.

"Understand one thing. You are a prisoner of war. I trust you will not lie to me."

Her name, Terror sank in when he repeated those words and the true implication behind them became clear. She hoped it didn't show on her face, although she felt her heart begin to beat faster, her breath become a touch more shallow. That was one thing she couldn't - no, wouldn't give. Her family had no part in this. Her father had tried so hard to keep her away. They'd done nothing, Natalie Roux knew no one that the negaverse could use against anyone but herself, she --

Thank god he offered something else. This was something she could at least try to answer. "I won't lie, " she repeated briskly, trying to keep her composure - or as much composure as an exhausted, filthy, beaten teen could manage to begin with. "I don't know exactly how many. I haven't been very active - I know there's more than twenty, but I don't know them all by name."

She smiled, just a fraction, like it was a peace offering.

Leucite smiled back, walking over he untied her right wrist, holding her hand in his as he looked down at her, he began to rub her wrist, working out the marks from the ropes. He maintained the kind, warm smile even as his grip on her wrist tightened, and then with a quick jerk, his left hand moved to her forearm and his right squeezed tight on her fingers.

Then he pushed her wrist back until he was sure he heard it snap.

Then he dropped her hand, took a step back and with the same calm tone.

"How many of your kind are out there... I also need names - real names - and addresses... Also places they frequent. Do not lie to me again."

Amphitrite didn't really know what she was expecting when he released her wrist. Later, she would know she was being naive when she smiled back at him, more broadly now, relieved that after days of chains and pulling and bruising, it was getting some tender treatment. Maybe she hoped he was being merciful, that even though he came across harshly, it was only because he wanted the truth without any bullshit.

His grip tightened, and she began to fidget, even if there was nowhere to go. It was getting uncomfortable now, and she opened her mouth to say something. She didn't understand what he was trying to --

Then, came the snap. Her eyes widened with horror, and an inhuman scream escaped her, splitting her dry throat raw as pain washed over her. She writhed and twisted in her chair, and it was the first time tears had poured freely from her eyes before the negaverse -- she didn't even realize she was crying.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" she shouted when she found some voice in the sea of her screams, her face twisted in the most exquisitely hideous vision of agony. This, from the girl who had always been daddy's girl, who had gone crying to him with skinned knees. The girl who had been bitten by dogs, scratched by cats, and yet received stitches for the first time in early December from a youma's fangs. "Why would I lie?! I don't know - I don't know anyone!" she choked out, more sobs than screams now as she shut her eyes to avoid looking at her hand, oh god her hand. "Please, I don't know, I don't know!"

Railing at him was not going to get her anyway. His eyes looked at her impassively. His stance spoke of business, but his eyes... they spoke of murder. Not her specifically - but her kind, as a whole. She was one girl caught up in a war - but he didn't care. She chose to fight, she would have to deal with the consequences.

Leucite was not a sadist - at least that is what he told himself. He inflicted pain on his enemies because pain was part of his job. The fact that he often enjoyed inflicting said pain on his foes he chalked up to joy in a job done well... like when he finished a portrait or a landscape.

But to be honest, painting with pain was far more enjoyable.

"Nothing is wrong with me. I asked you not to lie..." He placed a finger to her lips, amused at her reaction. "And you did... you said you don't know anyone and I find that hard to believe... now tell me what I want to know..."

"... or it'll be your other arm next."

Although her good wrist was still bound, her fingers curled defensively when he threatened her, as though that would do anything to protect her. No matter how she looked at him, how she begged and pleaded with her gaze, there was just nothing there. Just a hollow coldness she wanted no part of.

The thought of crying out for help swept by like the tide, and if she wasn't in so much agony she might have spared herself a bitter laugh. No one would have come even if she tried. Just where did she think she was?

"I-I'm not lying, " she hissed between her teeth, her tone still stained as she tried to bite back the sobs of agony that rocked her. "I only know powered names, that's all! Like Ganymede and Castor and... and names like that! I've never met them when they were powered down! They don't know me enough! I'm not important enough to know!"

She wouldn't be able to swim for months. She'd have to write with her other hand. If - when she made it out of here. Oh god. She shrank further into that damned chair, and found herself wishing she had stayed on the hard, cold floor. At least then she could have moved, even just a little!

"I asked you nicely," Leucite said with a tired sigh. "I really did... I was trying to be reasonable - but I see that you are going to play games with me... That is unfortunate."

He untied her other wrist, only this time he took a firm grip from the start, and grabbing her pinky, slowly - as if he were purposefully drawing out the suffering, he pushed back her pinky until her heard it also crack.

"That's for lying." He said gently - almost giving away a hint of disappointment.

"Tell me more about the ones you know... What they look like - who they are. Are they leaders? Are they grunts like you..."

She had gone gently the first time. The second he released her hand, she screamed and tried to jerk it away. Her legs shook and strained against their bonds. She begged, she pleaded - and he still snapped her pinky, so painfully slow that she didn't even know what to do with herself.

Her other hand jerked instinctively as if to stop and stop the pain, but it just sent her beneath another wave of pain deep enough that she could scarcely breathe.

"I'm not lying, " she sobbed, and wished she was made of more than this. She wished she felt worse that she wasn't made of more than this. She wished she was strong enough not to plead for her family to come help her, if only in her own mind. "I'm telling you the ******** truth, " and she wanted to shout it, but she whimpered it.

"I told you; Ganymede, uh, uh... they're all beautiful, I... " Names. Names were failing her, and she hardly knew any to begin with. "I didn't transform for months, I... I swear I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, " and she broke into a stream of the same rambling statement, the words slowly blurring together.

Leucite sighed, he was starting to lose her to shock - she'd be useless if he didn't dial it down for a little bit, keep her awake at the very least. He took great pains to rebind her hands so as to make sure he wouldn't further aggravate her injuries.

"Breathe," He commanded, voice calm and steady. "In through your nose and out through your mouth - and calm down. I'm done hurting you."

This was getting him nowhere - she wasn't even trying to tell him what he wanted to hear.

Placing a hand lightly on her chest, he growled. "Calm down, or I will crush your starseed like the insignificant speck that it is... do you understand?"

It was a bluff - of course - he was under strict orders to keep her alive...

But she didn't need to think that.

His words didn't reach her. All she could hear was the pounding of her heart, her ragged, desperate breaths, and the sound of her own screams and pleas. It was almost like watching a film, only rather than a screen, it was a layer of pain that separated her and him.

Then, there was a hand on her chest. The word 'starseed' reached her like a beacon in the night, blinding. Abruptly, she stopped moving. She stopped screaming. She hardly seemed to dare to breathe, her red tinted eyes wide as saucers as a tremor ran over her body.

"My starseed, " she breathed out in a hollow whisper, hardly more than a breeze sweeping through the trees.

So many travels. So many people gone. She could be gone. She would forget. She would die. She could die without dying. She was the starseed, the starseed was her, no no no no nonono...

Even if it had been a dream, the terror, the long sleepless nights, the nightmares within a nightmare, they felt no less real.

"You wouldn't." He couldn't.

It took Leucite a few moments once she had calmed down to still his own emotions enough to focus. Then he slowly let his hand sink into her chest, as he had often done to gang bangers and the other gutter-trash that infested the more slummy parts of town.

Save for one knight - that had been a special occasion indeed...

He grinned the entire time, letting his hand gently rest on girls soul - her being.

"I wouldn't?" He practically purred. "Would, I?"

He very, very gently, applied pressure - not enough to damage - but to let her know he could very well end her.

Then he removed his hand from her chest, and waited.

There were no words to accurately describe what Amphitrite felt when that hand sank into her chest to touch the very essence of what she was. Vulnerability. Terror. Violation. Disgust. None of the words alone, no, even together were strong enough for that moment.

Even if it had only been that, a moment - to Amphitrite, that was more than an eternity. She slumped over when he pulled over, breathing fast and shallow, exhausted beyond repair and her vision darkening at the edges as tears leaked from the corners of her eyes.

"I hate you."

The words barely felt like her own, like it was someone else entirely that had said them, in words that were barely loud enough to be considered words. But they had a power to them. Abruptly, the darkness turned red. Something snapped. She lifted her head with a snarl, her world spinning as she lashed against her binds, snapping at him like a cornered beast. She spat at him, and even if that was all she could do in that singular moment, it was something, and it felt ******** fantastic.

"I hate you!"

Her little outburst earned her a punch in the jaw, and Leucite wasn't holding back either. He had no desire to. It was a well executed jab right to the right side of her jaw. It was moments like these that he really thanked all of his MMA training.

Pulling his hand back again, he watched her for a moment. If he had knocked her out, he'd have to wait for her to come to - otherwise he was waiting to see if she was going to lose her mind again.
