The crazy weather and attack of some legendaries had ended some time ago. Marietta should was nearly completely healed and she had managed to keep it hidden from her friends and those she cared about mostly. Of course Gao had learned of it and he had been the one to help patch her up.

The city had calmed down and gotten back to a normal order of going on. The young spinarak was no exception. She herself walked with two empty baskets being held in her lower pair of arms. She was going shopping for those who were working in the club. She would often take shopping orders for those who worked in I Choose You, and do their shopping wail the workers slept or worked. She knew when she was old enough she would get to work in I Choose You and she was very glad to already be getting her name known among the dancers and workers. She was a familiar face and often welcomed in the club when things were not busy.

With solid black eyes the girl scanned the road she was walking around. What she was thinking was anyone's guess because her face was unable to express the emotions she felt or the thoughts she could be thinking of. Though she was hoping to find something a bit more excited on this shopping trip.

Tristan was doing something similar. He was shopping for a group of people, but in a different sense. He'd been performing on the streets of the city for a while now, and collected quite a bit of money. He wanted to purchase each of his family members a gift. He'd so far had no luck. What did one buy for people who were happy with what they had? Timmy had managed it, for Christmas. He'd managed last year, too.

He wandered the road, looking at the shops. He wondered what Fluff would like. Despite having been in the family a year now, he still felt closest to his brother. They were roughly the same age. Maybe a stuffed animal? No, that was more Teddy's thing, wasn't it? Maybe a book? He was sure he could find something Fluff'd be interested in.

He noticed Mariette, and a bright smile replaced the thoughtful expression he'd been wearing previously. "Hello," he greeted her.

Mariette was not expecting to be addressed in any form so when she heard a bright sunny voice excitedly say hello to her she jumped. Though she was startled her face remained emotionless and she just turned her solid black eyes to look at him. Her eyes looked over his brightly smiling mouth and she tilted her head. Unable to mimic his expression she gave a small bow of her head, "Hello s..sir. A...are you new in town?" she asked not having ever seen him before. Despite hShe was used to being asked for help with new people in town and she would always spin them towards one of the clubs if they were in need of a place to stay.

Despite her lack of expression her voice was soft and gentle and shy. She turned to face him fully now her top pair of hands coming to clasp each other in front of her.

New in town? Tristan seemed surprised by the question. His expression became puzzled as he considered it, smile slowly slipping from his face. "New, huh. Kind of, I suppose. I moved into my mother's house about a year ago. I lived with someone else until then, and we lived in a different part of the area." And before that, he'd been a wild pokemon, wandering the streets and scavenging in bushes. "I'm Tristan," he added, smile reclaiming the majority of his face.

"I haven't seen you before," he observed. She was a bug type, and was clearly having trouble expressing herself; at least facially. Body language was something entirely different; something Tristan had had to train himself in, as he wanted to be an actor. Actors often had to make their body language larger than life, enabling even those who could not see their expressions to read their emotions.

"I was looking for gifts for my family, but I give up. Want to try acting out a part with me? I bet you'd be good at it."

She watched his face change and fall then brighten back up. She would have blushed a bit if she could have but her cheeks remained the same green as ever, "Oh I am s....sorry. I have never s...seen you in t...town before Mr. Tristan. Th....though I guess I do not get t...too too much. I am often in o...one of the clubs or s...shopping for them."

She lowered her basket carrying hands down a bit and looked at him a bit more exposed and gave a small nod, "I am Mariette an e...errand girl to I C...choose You and Catch 'Em A..all." She said and then tilted her head to the left. "Y...You were shopping?" she paused and her hidden back displayed her true feelings though her face remained emotionless, "I...I am not a good...actor...Y..you are too kind...if you think I am." Her upper two hand clasped together and she let out a slow breath, "Maybe w...we should shop first...t..then act?"

"Don't worry about it," Tristan said, shaking his head. He wasn't at all bothered by the mistake; he'd been a bit confused. "I've never seen you either, but then I don't get out much either--I'm usually in some disguise, you know. People don't often see me as me." He grinned, gesturing at himself. It wasn't common for him to go out on the streets in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, but it was nice. "Clubs, huh? Can't say I've been in one of them."

"Nice to meet you, Mariette." He'd never been into the club she mentioned; he would have to visit sometime. "Yeah, for my family. I can't find them anything good, though. My family's always been happy with what they have, they don't really think much about what they don't have. So it's hard for me to know what they'd want. They're so happy now, what could make them happier?"

Mariette did not understand why someone would go out in public in a disguise. Even the dancers at I Choose You, when they went out, did not go in disguise they went out as themselves. Maybe Tristan was famous and then that would make sense why he would go outside dressed as someone else. She wondered if he was ever in a movie or on tv. Though of course it would be rude to ask. "Well the c...clubs are safe places for p...people like us who do not ha...have anywhere else to go."

"I...is you family r..rich?" she asked and then looked down at the basket in her hands, "Maybe...something they ca...an eat?" If they had everything already that they needed then a nice gift of something that would not last would be nice wouldn't it? She had never gotten flowers before but when the twins or Aggro brought her something to eat it always made her happy.

A safe place for people like them? Tristan had never felt different from any other person, but then he had spent the majority of his life with a family that ignored those differences. "I'll have to visit," he said. It would be nice to meet other people, maybe he would find someone he could become friends with. Maybe he'd find someone special.

He seemed startled by Mariette's question. "Rich?" he echoed, shaking his head. "Nah. Not rich. I mean, I wish." He wished they were rich; then maybe Dea would have had all the treatment she needed. He hated seeing the woman who'd taken him in, hurting. "Maybe, that might work." He smiled at her. "I bet mom would like chocolate."

If she could smile she would have but her lips remained still and emotionless her mandibles twitching lightly, "Yes p..please do come and visit. I...I look forward to...serving you t...there." Her voice was the most expressionate of her body and it was still more of a shy excitement. She was always glad and grateful to getting some most clients to either of the clubs. She did work a bit in I Choose You even though she was still a child. No matter how much Carwyn tried to keep her out she always snuck in and she even helped another youngster sneak in to pester one of the bouncers.

She tilted her head to the side as he looked shocked at her question but his smile calmed her nerves. "Oh c...chocolate is a...always a good gift." she said gently, "O..or fresh fruit...m...maybe dried f..fruit."she offered. Maybe they should go to the farmer's market.

Tristan nodded. He'd have to check that out, now he was old enough to get in. At least, he thought he was old enough. Did he have to be an adult, though? He wasn't sure. He'd never tried. "Maybe I'll see you there, and you can show me around," he offered. He wasn't sure he approved of a girl Tania's age working, but, maybe she needed the money. Maybe they had her doing small things.

"Chocolate, I think. I can work on getting other gifts another time." He smiled. "Come on, maybe I have enough so we can each get something too." There was a candy store not too far away, and if he bought fudge for Dea, he was sure he could get them each a small bag of variety candy.

"I would be very g...glad to show you either c..club. It depends...o..on what you are looking f...for or into." She said glad for the thought of someone else coming to the clubs. She knew Carwyn would be glad too.

"B..buy each other something?" Why would they get each other something? She had only gotten one gift before from someone not Carwyn and that had been a gift from her guardian's lover. She looked down at the hand that held a money pouch, "I d..don't have much money o..of m...my own to buy anything...But I would b...be glad to go w..with you. P...please lead on." she said softly and moved to follow Tristan to the candy shop he wanted to go too.

"What? Oh, no. I meant I could get you something. I wouldn't expect you to get me something. We just met!" He shook his head at her. "But I have some money from acting, so I thought you might like something, and I could get something--we could eat while I help you." He'd promised, hadn't he? And candy always helped him into a good mood. Maybe it'd help her, too.

He offered her his hand. "Come on, it's not far," he said, smiling. "Then we can come back to the square and I can help you with your acting ability, okay?" Maybe she would perform with him, one day! He'd like that.

Though her face could not show it if her back was displayed then the confusing would clearly be displayed. He did not expect her to buy him anything but he wanted to buy her something. That was not fair though. "B...but if we just met....th..then why would y..you buy me something?" He voice was able to express some of her confusion.

Her confusion only got stronger when he said they would work on acting. They were going to work on acting afterwards? But she did have some shopping she needed to get done for the dancer at I Choose You. "Practing...in public? I...I don't think I can act...I can...can't make f....facial expressions..." He looked at his hand and placed one of her hands on his arm to walk with him. "Thank you...y...you are a gentleman."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 26, 2015 8:55 pm

"I dunno, because I'm older and I want to?" Tristan shrugged. He'd thought candy would have been a good treat for them to share. It was cheap, and it tasted good. "Because we're friends now?" he suggested, awkwardly.

He hesitated, seeming to think of a solution. "I know you can't," he said, "You're one of those who have their emotions show other ways. Lots of people are like that. That's why actors have to be larger than life, and really show their emotions with their body language. They have to move around and show if they're angry with their arms, or show that they're excited with their movements. Back when Shakespeare was around, it was just a small stage. They didn't have a microphone or anything! But not everyone could see their facial expressions, I bet. That's only part of it. There's all sorts of things you can do to show you're happy, or sad or mad." He gave a stomp for demonstration. "See? If I do that, people are going to think I'm mad. But I'm not."

"I...I won't take candy, j...just for me. W..we can split it." She finally gave into his candy idea. She did not really want to have to spend his money on her if he did not have a lot of money and he wanted to buy for others as well.

She had started to follow him only to have him stop and turn to her to talk about acting. He really did seem to care about the subject a great deal. She watched his actions and had to admit it did show some strong emotion from just an action but she did have one issue about what he wanted to do with her, "I..if we do it. Please n...not in p...public." She would not mind trying to act a bit as long as no one could watch her. She could dance that was true and her body was very flexible but to express emotions was something she did not think she could grasped because everytime she tried she only grew more saddened by the fact she could not emote. Well at least not with her top on.
