The buzzing of his phone woke him. Roch was crashed in the middle of his old bed--but unfortunately he wasn't alone. It was actually a bit crowded with people, considering they'd been having an all night jam, and his bed was technically in the middle of his dad's garage--and that meant there were bike builders there, too. It'd been a family get-together of epic (musically and booze-ily) proportions.

He yawned, shoving his dad's arm off of him and digging out his phone to stare blearily at the screen. It took some three minutes for him to actually realize what it was saying. When he did, he squirmed free of the pile and headed for the bathroom to get cleaned up and shaved. About twenty minutes later he was right where Ren had summoned, a greasy bag of fastfood in his hand and a tray of coffee perched on the other.

He couldn't figure out how to knock with full hands--so he bumped the door twice with his forehead. "OYE! REN! I brought coffee!"

"REEENN!" Roch said in return, putting his stuff down on the floor and dragging the other boil into a hug. "Jack, I've missed you, too!" he said, laughing. "An' y'wouldn't believe how good it is t'NOT get punched for bein' gone so long," he added shamelessly. "LW's not in? That sucks, I haven't seen her in forever, either," he added as he finally looked around.

"Jack this place is colorful," he said when he got a decent look. "I like it!" He reached down, grabbing the stuff. "Coffee? I've had all of... two hours sleep." In other words, he needed the caffeine.

"Nah, I was askin' for it," Roch said, grinning still. "Y'don't exactly skip out on your best friends since first year without askin' for it--especially if y'forget t'leave a note." He was blatantly looking around. All the brightness reminded him of Ren, unsurprisingly.

"What y'really need are those glowin' lights in different colors along the furniture," he said, as if he had great decorating sense. If anything, he would make it GLOW IN THE DARK BRIGHT. Yeeeeah. That'd be party central!

"I've been touring!" he said, going along with the subject change. "Put t'gether a band and a rickety old tour bus and traveled the world--it's been a blast. I'd invite you t'come along, but you seem pretty settled down." He'd totally expected that. Ren and LW had been together for as long as he had known them.

"Sure!' Roch said with a grin. "But my band is who knows where at the moment," he admitted with a shrug. "They took off after dropping me an' my things off at the train station. I'm in town for the wedding, course I really shoulda got a jackin' time frame before droppin' everything, y'know?" he admitted. "Danny and Rikki are tyin' the knot," he explained, because frankly he had no clue if Danny and Ren had ever talked before.

"How's Jove?" he asked, changing the subject. "I'm thinkin' of huntin' him down, next--it'd be great t'see him!"

"Where's he at nowadays?" Roch asked, taking the coffee however Ren wanted to give it to him. "Jack, I'm getting old already," he complained, "the old days I never needed coffee after a party night. Now I'm addicted to the crap. But, yeah, an address would rock--it was a pain in the a** hunting down some of the others."

He didn't commiserate on the whole not married thing, though. He was a bachelor for life, he didn't get the desire for marriage, not anymore. Anything he said on it would probably wind up with him looking like an a** and he knew it.

"Jove's got a ghoul?" Roch asked, looking stunned. "Wow, I gotta meet them! They cute?" he asked.

"Hey, actually, you said you were makin' a club, right?" he said, changing the subject as he dug through his pockets. "Gramps runs a casino nearby, so the family's got connections with a lot of booze and food providers," he said as he dug out his wallet and pulled out a card. "My ah... Monica can hook you up, just tell her you're a pal of mine," he added, offering it to him. It was sort of hard to explain his granddad's girlfriend being an ex-pole dancer, even now that he was an adult.

It was also hard to call Monica "grandma" when she looked like she did, even if he HAD known her since he was fifteen.

He. Roch let that sink in for a while, contemplating it from all angles as he thought of Jove liking boils. He'd just automatically thought ghouls because--well, Roch was as straight as an arrow, even with all his bad experiences. He tended to assume boils liked ghouls and vice versa unless someone flat out told him otherwise, simply because HE did.

"Huh, well as long as he's cute!" Roch said after a beat or two. What? For a little bit he'd sworn he was in love with Marosa. "How serious is it?" he had to ask. Sometimes the whole "serious" thing blew up in your face. Then he promptly got distracted, talking shop. "If y'need help with cleaning a place up, I'll pitch in for cheap. I'm jobless at the moment--an' it's either find a job or work for one of the old geezers in my family." Which he'd probably do, as well.
