Hope this is all right~
Takes place right after the Sam/Levi fight.

Everything he'd grown accustomed to over the last several years... was gone. Everything he'd hoped for, since curling up next to Sam that first night, ruined and dashed from his life. After those females found Samael and hissed in his ear about everything they thought was wrong with the situation (even when they knew nothing), Levi found himself abruptly and irrevocably kicked from the nest. It would be fine, of course. Sam just needed some time to remember how much he needed Levi. He needed to realize that he couldn't care for Zarri, Keke, and the clan alone.

Once he was ready, Levi could return, and they could put this mess behind him.

But for now, Oblivion wasn't going to spend his time curled up alone under a rock. He could return to Soudul and his parents, but... they seemed so far away. His mother would coddle and question him and telling her what had happened would only rile the poor old woman up. He needed someone who would... care for his plight, without actually interfering in it. The only one who immediately sprung to mind was... Avani.

The young Orderite girl was gentle and attentive, never mind that she was currently the sole caretaker for the one offspring Samael was so worried about. She was his immediate, and most obvious choice. On dark feathered wings, he fluttered from the mountains, body feeling tight and heavy after the scuffle with his mate and Sam's friends. The flight across Eowyn, across the ocean was long and hard, but it was better than hiding within the rugged mountainside for even one night.

He landed within the forests near the last place he'd seen Avani; her parents' farm. The sun was just starting to dip below the horizon, casting a single bright stretch of gold right across the bottom of the sky. It was beautiful, but it meant the girl was probably tucked safely away. With a sigh, he settled against a tree, tucking his claws beneath his breast and dipping his head. He'd have to wait until morning. And for now, that was fine with him.

Avani walked from her parent's barn to their house, glad to be done with the last chores of the day. All that remained was to go to her home in the forests by the lake to cook dinner for her hodgepodge of a family. She would tell her parents good bye before leaving letting them know her chores were done.

The last years had been tough, earning enough for the land and house, she thanked the gods that she had such good friends who would look past Honoka and help her construct it to her dimensions. It had been a large house. The third floor reserved for her large khehora friends with four rooms, one belonging to Honoka at the present, all built to be just larger than an average adult khehora. The rooms had a three sided box like structure that was just large enough for an adult to make a nest of any material. Avani had made a pillow for each room if one wanted softness, or they could have hey or whatever they wished for bedding. Honoka's "nest" consisted of smooth driftwood at the moment around the outside, with one of the pillow mattresses for her comfort.

Avani smiled as she thought about how clever that was. She was mostly inspired by the little box nest that she had built for Honoka's egg.

The second floor, however was designed specifically for two-legger comfort, with multiple rooms spanning the length of the floor above. Many rooms had been constructed on that floor. But Avani took the master bedroom. It had opening windowed doors onto a balcony that overlooked the front view of the house.

The barn had been connected to the back of the house, for easy access as well as not taking up any more space in the forest. There she had a sheron for milk and uruu's for eggs, as well as the old docile hastar that had made the trip from her grandmother's house when her family moved to this area so long ago...

The perks of this house, Shenra had gifted to her. She had modernized the house with a hot water heater, and indoor plumbing. No more trudging out at night to a cold and dark outhouse!

Avani sighed and stretched as she walked. Now was the time she was saving up for fixing up the farmhouse that was part of the land she had bought. She would rent it out to anyone who wanted to use it, fully aware she was responsible for repairs on that property.

But now she just wanted to get home.

She went inside the kitchen through the back door, and told her mother she was leaving. Her mother smiled and wished her goodbye, sending along some fresh baked sweet rolls for the ones she called grandchildren.

Avani admired the sunset on her way to collect the old hastar that would take her home. It was like someone had painted the clouds onto the sky in brilliant orange and red hues She wished she could see a full view of the sight, for no doubt that was more of a sight to behold.

Avani sighed smiling, and went into the barn and readied her hastar for the journey home. She mounted the horse and gently nudged her into the forest and towards home.

The sound of a wooden back-door clanking shut was what instantly roused Oblivion into bolting upright. He hadn't been out long. Certainly not long enough to fall asleep; at least, he didn't think so. Sure enough, when he tilted his head back to peer upward, the sun was just sinking to the west. Curiously, he peeked between the trees, tail swaying out behind him as ruby orbs landed on the frame of a woman strolling from the house. She was tall, lean, elegant, and it was only after staring at her at length did Levi realize... Avani had grown.

Avani had grown quite a bit, to be honest.

He stalled in place as he stared at his friend, the girl he'd entrusted with one of his own young. She'd been a wee lass, then; petite and bright-eyed, but with so much hope for the future. Even now- Levi watched as she disappeared into the barn- he could see grace and confidence, an adult by all meanings of the word. And through the faint breeze, muddled only by the scent of farm animals, tree sap, and grass, a vaguely familiar smell clung to her. Familiar enough that Oblivion could recognize the kin of his own children.

The hurt of abandonment evaporated away in an instant, replaced by excitement and delight. If Sam wanted him gone, that was fine. he could return knowing the Gaili had suffered for his mistakes while Levi could still delight in the company he kept. His tail lashed eagerly, eyes wide with hope and glee as the orange-haired female emerged from the barn atop an old hastar and headed into the forest, toward him.

He had no intention of startling her, and as her beast trotted along the path, a wave of darkness slowly molded from within the shadow of the trees. It took the form of claws sinking into grass, a swishing tail, feathered wings sprouting from shoulder blades, and dark midnight colored skin, strolling alongside the haster. "Avani," Levi whispered, looking up at her on her mount to pin her with luminescent ruby orbs.

She had grown, but so had he, adopting a new form previously unseen by the two-legged female.

Avani's mount had been a little skittish as she moved into the woods. It wasn't like her to do so unless something was wrong. She was trying to maneuver the hastar gently when she heard her name in her ear. She turned her head to the side and screamed.

Avani fell off the hastar. The hastar freed, ran back the way it came.

Avani's eyes took in the dark colored person, her mind going right to an Oblvionite here in her woods. Then her eyes took in the fact that whatever it was was all but naked. The person had on a very tiny piece of cloth that covered just enough for her to imagine the rest of the person's anatomy. She screamed again and closed her eyes tight, trying to back up, away from the person. As she scooted back, she felt a tree behind her. Avani tried to move back a bit more, but just as she was about to curl up instinctively, she opened her eyes, just a pinch, and saw the person once again.

This time, looking at his face ("Definitely a he," she thought, "and defiantly not looking lower than the face again"), she saw wings, and a tail, and fangs, and very familiar red eyes.

Her eyes popped open and took in a more detailed account. The wings were fluffy of black feathers, and at the end of it's long tail was a poof of the same kind of feathers in it's wings. His skin was as dark as night, but he had hair the color of autumn leaves. There were fangs in his mouth, no Oblivionite she had ever met, no matter how hard Seren's priestesses preached or wished, had fangs. And eyes... Obivionites defiantly never had two eyes.

But it was the color of the eyes that calmed her the most. She had seen those eyes every day for the past few years.

Avani calmed a bit and realized also that this person had known her name.

"O-Oblivion?" Avani said the fear rushing from her body. It was replaced by happiness, and a little caution. It could be Oblivion... But then it could be someone or something else altogether. "I-is that you?"

She found her eyes starting to drift downward again trying to see if the person really had two-legs. If it was Oblivion, was this the Khehorian form she had read about? She saw the loose cloth that covered him, and her eyes flew right back up to his face. She could feel a little warmth in her checks... Hopefully he wouldn't notice that.

Even as he winced at the shriek that emitted from Avani's mouth, a feral fanged grin spread across Levi's face. She hadn't recognized him. He hadn't imagined she would. He also hadn't imagined that she'd be thrown from her haster and that the stupid beast would run off without its master. An oversight on his part, and one he was thankful hadn't resulted in more serious harm to the Orderite girl. His ruby gaze lingered about their surroundings for a moment longer, hunting for a small four-legged khehora companion and listening for the pitter-patter of tiny claws. He turned his nose up to see if he could catch what he hoped would be the ever-so-slightly familiar scent of one of his own children, but no. Nothing recent. Avani really was alone.

Tamping down his disappointment, Oblivion stalked after her as she recoiled, tail swishing in amusement and feathered wings fanning out in delight at his captured 'prey.' He crouched before her, watching with rapt attention as the heart-wrenching fear dissipated from emerald eyes, only to be replaced by hesitance and hopeful recognition. "Hullo, little lass," Levi greeted with a grin, extending a clawed hand to inquisitively skim down the ever-growing length of her orange strands.

He stared at her, lips pinching together in thought. her fear inspired new questions, ones he hadn't thought he'd need to concern himself with as he flew over the Serenian grasslands. And while it was almost rude to berate her so, he still deemed it necessary to obtain answers.

Levi smiled as he drew his arm back in. "I was hoping to catch you, but I thought for certain it'd be too late for you to be out and about," he admitted with a furrowed brow. "Where are you heading off to all by yourself? Your mother and father will be worried, won't they? Even an Orderite in Serenia shouldn't expect to walk around safely in these woods. Do you have some method of protecting yourself? It didn't really... seem like it from your initial reactions. And you shouldn't be alone, anyway. My... Er, my child... Where is...?"

Avani sighed in relief. It really was Oblivion. The attack on her just a few months ago from the ranch hands had made her more leery of living in the forest, but she had set alarms and traps to go off near her house if anyone not matching the magic signatures of her or her trusted friends walked into the vicinity. She hadn't really thought of being attacked on her way to and from home. She had her staff that held a small blade hidden in it's length, but that had been on her hastar that had run off.

Avani smiled as he touched her hair. He looked so frighting, yet she knew he was a softy at heart. At least when it came to her and Honoka. She allowed him to continue to touch her hair. It was nice to have at least one person to trust that much after her attack.

"I'm on my way home from a long day at work." Avani beamed at him, "I've been given a job on my father's ranch, and I work most of the day." She stood up using the tree she had hit as a brace. "I did have a blade with me, but you surprised me by sneaking up on me, and my mount was skittish." Avani chuckled, "I thought you were an Oblivionite that was not so friendly." Avani then stood defiantly and stuck her nose in the air, "Besides, I've been playing in these woods since I was five and never had any trouble."

Well, that wasn't exactly true. The only true trouble she had followed her from the ranch one day...

"I don't live on my father's farm anymore, but in the woods, near the deep forest. I'm sure they worry, but I live on my own now." She smiled and looked away for a moment, shy, but then looked back to Oblivion, "Your child... Honoka... She was the right size for my father's home when she was born, but I knew she would grow to be as big as you, so I earned enough money to buy my own land and build my own house." She beamed proudly about her house and Honoka, "I built it so it could house large khehora, let them move around freely in their khehora form." Avani then felt sad and looked away at the ground, "She's just a few years old, but I don't know where she would like to live when she gets older. But she has a home with me for as long as she likes."

"As to where she is, Honoka is off at the moment with her teacher." Avani looked up at the sky and said, "She should be at home right now though, but Criani can look after her while I'm here." Avani blushed a bit as she looked back at Oblivion, "I-I couldn't teach her anything about being a khehora, hunting or Draconic language, or magic... So I found someone, another khehora, I could trust to take her out and teach her that. I worked it out that she is away learning her heritage while I'm at work." Avani smiled a bit, "But when she has days off she comes with me and learns how to act around two leggers and their animals." Avani then looked him right in the eyes and grinned slyly, "Unlike some khehora she won't go eating farmer's animals, at least not while I'm there to scold her."

Avani reached out tentatively and touched his arm. It was strange to see him as a two legger. He felt like a two legger, and had hair like one... She was so used to the fluffiness of his khehora form. Why should this form scare her? She pulled her hand back, suddenly wondering if he came back to take Honoka away from her. Which brought up a good point to Avani's mind. Why was Oblivion here? Avani wouldn't tell him she wasn't bonded. Not yet. She wanted a little bit more time with her daughter...

"M-may I ask why you are here?" she said. This time she looked at her feet and felt rather vulnerable, "I mean, it's been a long time...

She looked up and into the ruby eyes she knew and trusted and tried to see if he was here to take Honoka away. She would fight him if she had to, she would lose surely, but she wouldn't give her up without a fight.

"Honoka..." Oblivion repeated, tasting the name against his tongue and letting it roll out onto the wind. It must be the name Avani had given... her. A girl. A beautiful little girl, of course. For reasons he couldn't fully explain, his cheeks burned, blissfully covered by the dark of the night and his own skin. Honoka... She'd only been a nameless egg when he'd handed her over. No role, no clan, endless possibilities. And it was because he'd left her here that he... couldn't return home now. An endless amount of time could've spanned between then and now. Levi almost believed it was possible.

Even worse was his lack of tact. Whether she was in Avani's care or not, she- Honoka- was still his. He should've made more of a point to see her, to learn about her, to know her. Maybe her whereabouts in addition to progress reports would have appeased his mate. Instead, he may as well have abandoned her. Now, several years later, what would she think of him? What would she even be like? He swallowed, tongue flicking out to wet his lips. Would she even be able to stand him? What if she was unhappy, living amongst two-leggers? Especially with the tauntings of some random feral, Criani, hanging over her head.

"I suppose... There has been much growing up in my absence. From you, and from her..." Levi hummed, ruby gaze flicking briefly to the ground in thought. Avani lived by herself. Away from her parents. She'd apparently adopted other khehora friends. Someone who could teach Honoka in his absence. Or, because of his absence, more likely. Levi's tail swayed slowly, the dark-feathered tuft brushing over the ground.

Why did it all sound so wrong?

He rubbed his brow, a soft sigh slipping from his lips. "I should like to see her," he murmured. "That's all."

If you wish we could have a seperate RP where Oblivi and Criani meet, but I won't include her here. Though, if you and Blivi wish it, I can toss Honoka in here and not count the RP for her. They can have a separate RP too ^_^

Avani relaxed a bit and smiled. At least, for now, he wasn't here to take Honoka away. She reached out again and touched him on his arm. It was a reflex, something to comfort him, but it was also so she could get comfortable treating him like a two-legger now.

"Stay the night." Avani said softly. She sensed he was upset about something. Even his words felt heavy, so much she didn't need to see it in his face too, "You must be tired if you flew all the way from your home." She smiled brightly, "If you aren't too tired, you can eat dinner with Honoka and I, and spend some time with us before we go to bed." Avani chuckled, "I can assure you Honoka will be very happy to have a guest, and that her guest is her father, she probably won't be able to sleep." she squeezed his arm affectionately and said, "Tomorrow is the day for decisions, right now it's almost dinner and late for you to be flying about. Even if you can see better in the dark."

It would be nice to have him and Honoka bond. He was her father after all, and she would never deny him his daughter. But by the gods, even Souldana herself, she would fight him to keep Honoka at her side.

Though he was right. A lot of growing had been done. That was the way of living things. Being a farmer, she took her growing for granted. But Honoka... Her father was right. It was hard watching a child grow up. It must be doubly hard for Oblivion since he hadn't even seen her hatch...

"I've got it!" Avani said clapping her hands together, "I have a treat that you both would like. It's something I know Honoka likes seeing, but I think you would like it too." she closed her eyes and smiled sweetly, "And no, it's a surprise, so I won't tell you what it is."

He jumped a bit at her touch, not entirely surprised by the gentle dose of affection she settled across his arm, but also not completely expecting of it, either. Without much hesitation, he turned to lay a clawed hand over the top of hers, tilting his head back to face the smaller girl with a pleasant smile. "Stay?" Oblivion repeated on a low chuckle of amusement. "I probably shouldn't- ..." But if she really was staying on her own, then he had little to concern himself with by way of her parents. It was her house, so it stood to reason that she could invite over whomever she pleased. And if Honoka was there...

"But if it really wouldn't inconvenience you, perhaps only for the night would be acceptable." He couldn't help the way his shoulders dipped into a more 'at-ease' posture. His tail flicked out to dust the ground, coiling close to Avani's ankles before retreating back again. The way the Orderite woman spoke of his daughter, of Honoka, made him feel... the tiniest touch better. For all of Samael's worries, Oblivion had never doubted his girl had gone to a good home. But it was still nice to be reassured, nonetheless.

Levi hummed in delight, his tail giving an amused and delighted flick at the thought of a 'surprise.' "Very well," he hummed at length. He took a pace back, letting balck magic swarm around him and reshape his frame until he stood comfortable on all fours, in his khehora form once more. "Since your mount ran off, I may as well be the gentleman and offer you a ride." He strolled to her side and crouched down before her. "Though you will have to guide me, I suppose. I'm unfamiliar with your new residence."

He waited until she was settled, then they started off together at a slow trot, Levi doing his best to commit this new place to memory.
