Amphitrite knew if her father realized she had started sneaking out at night again, he'd go more hysterical than he already was. Even her mother, the self-admitted bad cop to her father's good cop, thought he was being a little overbearing. Sometimes Amphitrite wished she hadn't told him -- but at the same time, she didn't exactly regret telling him. Those images from the future, something out of a nightmare, still haunted her in bits and pieces. Her father's death had been a big "bit". At least if he knew the truth about her, then maybe...?

Or that's what she'd thought going into it. She still didn't regret it but... it was snowing when she found herself walking along the fringes of the park, and snowflakes were just beginning to fall. Amphitrite shivered and wrapped her arms tighter around herself. This get-up was pretty great in the summer time once she got the hang of the shell laced shoes, but now she was wishing she had something with some pants. Maybe a coat.

She tried to keep aware of any energy signatures. Friend, enemy, stranger, whatever. Maybe that was the real reason she was wandering around; after a few months and a lot of tension, Amphitrite was sick and tired of being cooped up with her own thoughts.

Luxor was having a strange time as of late, but he could not say he was unhappy. There was a lot to work through, but he was glad to have the chance to do it.

He was facing his own memories, of times that did not happen, and he was confused about those as much as his current reality. Being a knight was hard enough, but all the weird things that seemed to happen on top of that were just... well. It took a lot to adjust.

It was a good thing he had a profound ability to suspend his disbelief and just accept things as they fell. If he bothered to stop and question too much, instead of plowing through it all with dogged stubbornness, it might be a different story.

Feeling an aura nearby, Luxor snapped out of his thoughts and moved toward it, on instinct, finding the source walking in the snow. He was not well dressed for the snow, considering he did not even have the benefit of a shirt, but he always felt bad for others before he considered himself. Even, fleetingly, when he saw Negas or other Chaos folks in ill suited costumes.

No one could control what they were dressed up as, after all. He didn't think so, anyway.

He approached carefully, slowly, but did not say anything just yet.

An energy signature prickled at the edges of her senses, drawing closer - Amphitrite didn't bother moving closer or farther, but instead prepared herself. Just in case, better safe than sorry.

Sometimes she found herself longing for a group to patrol with, but she didn't know who to ask, and -- even if she knew she was holding herself back. She could have asked Ash; in spite of her absence, what, did she think Ash would be mad at her or something? (... maybe worse, disappointed.) But for now, she felt like it was better to get herself onto her own two feet. Find herself a little before she went on relying on people and asking them to do the same.

When she spotted the source of the energy signature though, her eyes widened, and her jaw nearly dropped. "Oh my god... " she gasped, pointing without even realizing it. "You must be freezing!" And she thought her outfit was ill suited to the cold! At least she had a shirt! "Are you okay?!"

Luxor was used to such reactions, and he shook his head as she pointed at him. Not in answer to her question, but just because he did not think it warranted such a reaction. Sure, he was clearly freezing to death, but at least being powered helped protect him a little.

At least, that was what he liked to believe.

"I'm fine. What are you doing?"

Direct, to the point: that was how Luxor needed to work. He needed to know what everyone was doing, and why, and if they were crossing his path in any way. He needed to be careful, and learn more about his role in the greater scheme of things now that his eyes were opened a bit more.

He couldn't just blindly hate everything, and couldn't trust everyone, either. A healthy dose of skepticism, that would go a long way.

Fine? Fine. He said he was fine. He was going to go ahead and turn blue and his nipples would probably fall off, but sure, he was fine. But it wasn't as though she could sit there and argue her point when he insisted he was fine; instead she just crossed her arms and worried her lower lip between her teeth, looking entirely unconvinced. The perfect way to argue without arguing.

A little blunt, but it took more than blunt to put her off. She just smiled in response, "I'm patrolling. Sort of. I don't really have a set route or anything, But I'm keeping an eye out for stuff, " because it wasn't like she was exactly looking for senshi, knights, or negaverse. They just kept finding her, at least when she was lucky. "How about you? Are you patrolling too?"

Shoot, she hadn't really done the whole 'introduction' thing here. "Oh, I'm Sailor Amphitrite - senshi of shells, nice to meet you!"

"I am. Just trying to keep things safe from Chaos."

He had a very limited role in that, of course. He knew that. But he was trying to branch out a bit more, and patrol more of the city so he could at least do a bit more good when he was needed.

"Shells? That makes sense," he nodded his head, noting her appearance now. He offered her his hand stiffly, in greeting. Though he was incredibly hard to read, he was not actually a mean guy, and he did want to make more friends and contacts outside of the little world he had created for himself at the carnival.

"Luxor, Squire of Pluto."

Knights were supposed to work well with senshi, as far as he was aware, so he thought teaming up with them was never a bad thing. Even if he was terrible with company, he could at least offer to patrol for a bit. Except he stayed quiet, not really sure how to bring it up.

"Really? - was it the ungainly shoes or the conches that gave it away?" she teased, winking playfully at him.

Amphitrite very, very quickly sorted this guy into her mental 'awkward' folder. But that was okay. She was sort of awkward too, even if it was in more of a word vomit kind of way. Yup, she liked him already! She took the extended hand and shook maybe just a little too eagerly, flashing him an award winning smile.

Then grew solemn, grasping his hand sincerely and sympathetically. "I'm really, really sorry about your planet by the way. In my heart, Pluto will always be a planet." Now that that was out of the way, she perked up again and released him. "Are you patrolling with anyone? - do you maybe want to walk together for awhile? I've only ever run into one negaverse guy in the park so far, but I hit him pretty hard with a stick so... safety in numbers, right?"

Luxor had no room to comment on the outfits other people had on. He shook his head sheepishly, though the emotion failed to register on his face, at least. His outfit was not exactly the most telling, though it also left little to the imagination. Funny how that worked.

Luxor was surprised when she held on to his hand, watching her placidly as she gave him her condolences.

"Oh. Well. I'm sure Pluto appreciates it, anyway."

He was not sure he had given it much thought. Was he made a knight after Pluto was taken off the roster as a legitimate planet? He might have been, but he had never worried about it before. He knew his Wonder was out there, after all, whether scientists considered Pluto worthy of a title or not.

"We can patrol together if you would like," he said, nodding his head, "I'm usually alone but I can be helpful in a fight, at least. How long have you been a senshi?"

"Do... you think Pluto knows?" Amphitrite felt silly asking, especially since she was sort of serious. But she'd never really given a lot of thought to how planets worked, or if there was a senshi attached to the ones closest by. Not like it really mattered, she guessed, since a dwarf planet was still a planet. Her thing was an asteroid, if she remembered right. But who knew? Maybe it mattered to Pluto, maybe it really, really did.

She was putting way too much thought into this. "Have you been to Pluto? - wait, can you space travel? I know you knights couldn't go to the Moon on your own, I think... the Primer didn't really say, and I couldn't really go on my own either since I didn't have a pearl but... anyway, I've never really had much of a chance to talk to knights about it in person. I've only ever been to the Moon, myself - is it really cold there? On Pluto, I mean?" Was it colder than this?

She blanched, suddenly. Months of being locked away in her room, and now this. "Oh my god, I'm talking way too much. I'm sorry, really, I - I haven't really had many people to talk to lately and - I'm sorry, please, just ignore me, okay? You really don't have to answer all of that, " she added with a slight flail of her hands.

Stupid. So stupid. Why was she so stupid? "If you still want to patrol with me, I'd really like to, " she said, looking down, her tone of voice a little less excitable. "I promise I'll try not to talk so much. - uhm, but, " he'd asked a question there too, right, "I've been a senshi since the summer. I wasn't too active though. Long story, but this thing on Avalon kind of jump started me to take up the pen again, so here I am."

Luxor stared at her for a long moment, not sure if he was supposed to answer her question or not. He was not a sentimental sort, and his ties to his planet were limited at best, at the moment. The idea of personifying it enough to give it feelings was beyond him.

He did not fault her for her feelings on the matter, of course, despite his skeptical expression.

"I've been to my Wonder. I guess that means I've been to Pluto. I visited another Wonder from the same planet, as well. I'm not really sure how it works, I never asked anyone. But it was not cold. It was actually hot, like Egypt."

Which helped justify his outfit, at least.

"I don't mind how much you talk... I'm not good at saying much. So we can patrol if you're okay with that..." He was a walking, talking wall. Barely talking. "Maybe we can find a youma." It would make the night feel a little useful, anyway, though he did count meeting a new ally or friend, or acquaintance, as a win.

For all her hesitation a minute ago, Amphitrite was quick to eat what he offered up when he spoke, her eyes wide with curiosity and well, wonder. "Like Egypt? Really? - just the temperature, or were there pyramids and stuff too?" she asked, more intrigued than ever. "I never would have expected that. I mean, I might have been able to breathe on the Moon, but other than that and the throw pillows it was kind of how I expected it to be, " she explained, winding her gloved fingers as she thought back to it. "I heard there was a ghost there but I didn't see it, and a ghost on the Moon isn't even all that surprising if you ask me - but Pluto like Egypt - " That was nothing like she ever would have guessed. Not in a bad way; Amphitrite liked being surprised, and even if she was no astronomer or anything, no denying that space stuff was cool.

"Would it be okay to ask what your Wonder is like? - is that too personal?" she asked with a furrowing of her brows. "Is that a personal thing...?" And that question was more directed at herself than him. She realized she had no idea, really. She wished she'd thought to ask Nazca more when she'd met him - but no, what they talked about was a different kind of personal. That was fine as it was. Maybe she could leave him a note about it, if it wasn't some big personal thing.

The young senshi perked up considerably when he said he didn't mind her being a chatterbox. Granted a lot of people probably just said that to be polite, but somehow she didn't think he'd bother lying to her if she was. "Good, I'm glad - I mean, really, it's better to say what's important, so you're fine the way you are - but I'm glad you don't mind me rambling away, " she said as she took a tentative step, waiting for him to follow. She spared a soft laugh, winding her hands together again. "Hope you've got fighting magic if we do. I can make shells appear on my arms, " she explained, holding up her forearms like that said it all, "But that's more to protect me than to do anything to anyone else. Sticks are useful though. - I haven't actually beaten a youma on my own yet, " and she cringed when she admitted it, "But I threw a stick at this pretty negaverse guy and hit him pretty damn good. For what it's worth."

It'd been her first, and only, victory.

"There was a pyramid, and these strange tiles that lit up when we walked on them. It had interesting technology that was obviously not from the real ancient Egypt. Well. As far as I know, anyway."

Some people did think Egyptians were influenced by aliens...

He rubbed the back of his neck, trying to think of his Wonder. He had not actually been there that much. For him, his Wonder was not really all that personal at all, and the only real connection he had to it was in name. Most of the time he imagined that Zia was more excited about it than he was, but maybe one day he would understand the draw.

Maybe.

"I don't think it's too personal. I can take you there if you want, some time. It's hard to focus and get there, but I've taken someone before. It's interesting to look around, anyway."

He took his turn to listen to her answering his questions, taking in her description of her magic and wondering if it was useful to have shells on one's arms. At face value, it certainly did not seem so, but then, he supposed any sort of barrier would be at least a little helpful in deflecting hits.

"I've managed pretty well in fights, even without the magic. I think it's important to know how to battle with your fists and feet, even if you have a better option, just in case."

Pyramids with lights - the first thing that popped into Amphitrite's head was the image of a black pyramid that lit up in all the colors of a Rubik's Cube. Now nothing was going to shake the image from her mind's eye except for maybe reality, and she hoped she was right because imagine how much fun those people must have had then. Put on some music, march around... granted if it was anything like the pyramids here, it probably wasn't so much fun to build, but...

Speaking of reality. Everything about her lit up when he offered to take her just like that. "Really? You'd do that?" she asked, and maybe her tone had gotten a little higher than it had been a minute ago. "Ohmygod I'd love to go to Pluto! - I can show you my asteroid sometime if you want! Granted I mean, I don't really know what that's like at all, but... " She shrugged her shoulders. "There's probably nothing lethal or anything right?" Good times? She hoped so.

She'd never really given much thought to her own asteroid, actually. It was a little strange, but somehow Amphitrite just wasn't as excited to see it as she was to see other peoples' planets and all. Maybe because she didn't know what to expect from her place. Other people could tell these stories that got her all wound up, but Amphitrite... no one but her own eyes could tell her anything about that. What if she hated it? What if she'd failed it like she'd failed at this senshi thing? It probably sounded dumb, but regardless, the same kind of excitement just wasn't there, and it wasn't something she wanted to half-a**.

"I think I'd like to know more about that stuff, " she admitted, clenching her hands into fists and releasing them again. "Hand to hand combat and stuff I mean. - when I was on Avalon, a youma jumped me, " she admitted, tugging down her sleeve far enough to see the lingering traces of the bite marks from the dragon youma. The scars were faint, but still visible, and they would stay that way. "It bit me, and it took like, I don't know... three other people to help me? It finally died on me, but like, it was biting me and belching fire everywhere and I couldn't really do anything to help myself at all." She tugged the glove back again and shrugged. "If I'm going to take this seriously, that kind of thing can't keep happening. I did better against that one negaverse guy, but that was just because he had long pretty hair and I sort of grabbed it and -- he started it, " she huffed suddenly, crossing her arms. No one ever liked a dirty fighter, and Amphitrite didn't really like the idea of toying the line like she was.

"I'd like to see your asteroid, too. I don't think I've heard of anyone going to their Wonder... or planet or star or whatever it is for Senshi... and dying there. I mean, I suppose if that did happen no one would be able to tell the story but..."

He frowned thoughtfully, slowly turning the thoughts over in his head, to weigh chances of danger in his mind. He had faith, though he was not a very faith based man, that they would be alright. This sort of thing was ancient, and there were too many of them out there for things like that to happen and no one knowing about it, right?

Wonders and planets were treated with respect, as far as he knew, and things that were loved that much probably did not go about killing their namesakes too often. He could only hope that was the case, anyway.

"Well, maybe after we visit space, we can train a bit, and you won't have to be injured like that again. If you need a patrol partner any time, you can come find me. Or I can come find you. I don't mind helping." Even if he spoke very blandly and did not seem excited about anything at all. He was being sincere in his concern for her safety, and offers to help.

To be totally honest, Amphitrite didn't want to give much thought to dying at all, much less dying somewhere deep in the bowels of space where no one would even realize she was dead. Nope, no thank you. Bringing someone along with her if she ever decided to head to her asteroid was a pretty good idea when she actually sat there and thought about it for a second.

All this was sounding pretty great, though. Patrolling, space, training... it almost sounded like maybe she'd found herself a friend! (Funny how the friends she seemed to be making lately tended to be older male knights, not like she was complaining. A friend was a friend after all!) She beamed up at him. "I'd really, really like that, " and she was the opposite, the type of person to pour her raw enthusiasm into each and every word. "I don't mind helping too. Not like I'm much help, but like, if there's anything I could ever help with - " Which was nothing. She bit her lip, wound her hands together, and tried that one again. "I mean, all that sounds really super great. I really want to be a better senshi, I do, " like she was trying to convince him, like he took another convincing, and like he was the person who needed convincing.

"So are there usually youma here? - is there like a hotspot or something they usually hang out in?"
