Stigtyr glared at the waves as they crashed against the rocks below. This was his favourite thinking spot. The lion could look out over the ocean, in peace and solitude, and mull over whatever was going on inside his head. Of course, right now, he was only partially looking out over it. A few weeks had gone by, and the sight still had not returned to Stig's injured eye. He could see shadows and light and occasionally blurry shapes if it was bright enough, but apart from that, he was blind in that eye. The wounds had scarred over all pink and angry, and they still stung a little if Stig opened his mouth too wide too fast. He would never truly be able to fight. Not that he could previously, of course. Stigtyr had never been good at it. But he'd always had some hope, deep down, that he would magically gain combat skills and make it into the ranks of the reaver, if only to please his mother and prove his brother wrong. Those were the only two things Stigtyr ever really wanted. And now he was effectively crippled. An experienced warrior might be able to work around this kind of handicap, but Stigtyr? No way. The male sighed as a gust of wind ruffled his mane. It had finally finished growing in, making Stigtyr a real adult. And what was he doing with his life? Sitting on a cliffside and moping about the world. Maybe he should just enter thralldom. He'd likely be more useful that way, the male thought with a fearsome scowl.

Skall was in a mood where he felt defeated. Not only had he, on his second of all vikings, realized he had a brother, but then to notice this brother was who he said he was?
It was exhausting. The facts kept pouring in and raining over his head without halt. He had a brother who was an idiot, an idiot who dreamed of finding the stormborn. It had initially made him furious, that this bumbling mess that was only half related to him wanted to join his pride and so lovingly referred to him as his twin. To take out his anger Tordernskall had gone to accept challenges, although to his horror after it had occurred he nearly killed the poor lioness out of his own rage.
It still was gnawing at him even now.
Approaching the cliffs Skall was disappointed to see another was already sitting there, glaring over the edge. With a sigh he continued his path there, and promptly sat next to other. He said nothing however, and merely gazed as well.
He had many enemies today, who was he to voice other words?Kaliforneum You know I completely thought for some reason that this was a rp long after the fight between Stig and Tollak and I was totally about to reply with him instead of Skall xD Also if Skall's color is blinding and you want me to change it just say so.

Stigtyr was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't hear the sounds of another approaching lion. So when a bright yellow shape suddenly entered his field of vision on his blind side, Stigtyr snarled and jumped back in fright. On a normal day, he might be embarrassed, but right now Stigtyr was fuming too much to be anything other than sad and angry. Might as well chalk this incident up on the list of reasons why he was a useless Stormborn and move on. Stigtyr glared at the lion before tentatively sitting back down. Technically, he had been at this spot first. He wasn't about to give it up just because he'd been startled. This other male was likely a reaver, based on the light injuries that signaled he'd recently been in a fight. Typical reavers, always barging in and interrupting others like they owned the entire pride. Stigtyr's scowl deepened even further.
CaliWolfe Lol. We should do an RP with Tollak and Stig when they're older though. Stig is going to be bitter for a LOOOONG time.

Skall was a little surprised himself when the other lion jumped upon his arrival. He was in no mood to fight any further, and did not lash out or really do so much as widen his expression a bit at Stigtyr's outburst. When the grey colored giant sat back down Skall noticed that besides from the scars stretching across his eye and face the other seemed to carry few injuries. So he was just a startled freeborn in Skall's mind.
"Sorry." Skall apologized. "I didn't mean to steal your spot, if you would prefer to be in solitude I have no qualms against leaving."
There was of course, several other places in the pride a lion who wanted to sulk and fret over his mistakes could go. Skall even considered heading to the forest, as few went there as far as he could recall. It would be a good place to lash out should he need to, fishing and hunting of small animals could serve to relax him. Although he had already indulged in enough mindless bloodshed for one day and with that the thought was dismissed entirely.Kaliforneum Well I imagine if your sibling decided to claw at your face and you ended up half blind then you'd be bitter too xD Tollak might try to apologize, but in the most roundabout way ever. Or he just won't feel sorry at all XD

He couldn't help himself from turning to get a good look at the lion at his words. He the stranger just...apologized to him? And offered to leave. Stigtyr shook his head faintly, suddenly confused. That certainly hadn't been expected. The lion scowled at himself. Maybe he should stop comparing all reavers to Tollak. Then again, most of them were like Tollak. But it was reasonable to think there might be exceptions. "No, no, it's fine. Cliff's big enough." Stigtyr answered gruffly. Now he was embarassed for being startled and for being mean. He was definitely on a roll today. Stigtyr sighed. "It's ah, good day for brooding, hm?" He quipped, awkwardly trying to make a joke. That's what people did when they were being friendly, right? Make jokes? Ugh. Stigtyr wasn't usually like this, but ever since losing his sight, he'd just been...meaner, grumpirer, more sad. Maybe he could use someone, another male, to talk with.
CaliWolfe I can just imagine family reunions. Or like, them forever being mad at each other but like their kids getting along fabulously with each other and their uncles.

It was a relief the other male was willing to let him stay. The discovery of Lynnedslag had caused him to act more aggressively and with each punch and lash and snap of anger he couldn't help but feel terrible for it. Should he lash out on a stranger trying a new place to mop in self-pity. That had the potential to not end in his favor at all...
Skall gave a small smile, following a laugh with his voice. It was nice talking to freeborns. They were more inclined to act nicer then reavers did. They made talking easy and not flowered with insults and jabs to ones reputation. Maybe he should have just stayed a freeborn, he considered at one point. "Yes, I suppose it is! Brothers tend to make brooding seem all the more appealing!" He watched the sea and the constant motion of the waves. The image of seeing himself or Lynned drown in the waters of it was a taunting horror that brought no end to pleasure in Skall's mind. He then would later regret having even considered seeing his kin drown to begin with.Kaliforneum I feel that should happen now XD Tollak to his kids: Ewww. Why are you acting like nerds and hanging out with your uncle? Your embarrassing me. Quit it!

CaliWolfe Or Stigtyr telling his kids that Tollak will eat them. Also is it bad that I imagine Skall talking in Thor's voice. Stigtyr's head moved back just a fraction. This was certainly the cheeriest reaver he'd ever met. Then again, Stigtyr supposed he didn't have the best examples to compare them to. His own mother had wanted to be a reaver, so the lion supposed the lifestyle appealed to more than just bloodthirsty brutes. The male felt a bit of a smile twitch on his lips. "You have a nasty brother as well?" Stigtyr felt a bit of kinship towards the golden reaver. He hadn't thought that anyone else would understand what he was going through, didn't have anyone to really talk with. And now, chances of all chances, this lion had appeared with a similar dilemma. "I personally like to imagine pushing mine off this cliff and watching him drown. Makes for good imagery." The grey male drawled, his normal dry humour creeping back into his voice.

"I wouldn't call him nasty." Skall still wore a smile of his laughter. His face shifted into that of a sad expression now. "Mmm. No, he isn't nasty, but he is rather irritating. Believes himself to have a free ticket into the stormborn simply because we are kin."
He was also stupidly happily. He might have made a good bard since he seemed to have a nice singing voice- but Lynnedslag and gone and flat out told him that he wished to be a reaver. He wasn't even part of the pride yet, he knew his father was Skall's as well and yet even Skall didn't have such knowledge. He knew how Skall was himself and meanwhile he had grown not even knowing he had a brother! The thought made him sick, angry at his family. He reminded himself he was chatting with an innocent, not-involved freeborn and sighed away his tension, his claws now retreating back into his paw.
"Yes, very good imagery. Although I wouldn't dare try to do that in reality." He turned to Stigtyr to examine his expression. "Thoughts of violence should mostly stay in our minds, no?"Kaliforneum Considering I compare Stigtyr to being the Loki of the family, I think Skall talking like Thor is fine.... Plus now I'm envisioning it too. xD

"Irritating." Stigtyr echoed. He wished his familial problems stopped at irritating. He also wished that Tollak wasn't a part of the Stormborn, as it seemed the case with this reaver's brother. But fantasies were for cubs. Wishing about how things could be prevented one from actually changing how things were at the present, and yet for a mind warped by sadness as Stigtyr's was, it was all he could really do. The young male couldn't help but snort at the reaver's last comment. Perhaps Stigtyr should send this stranger at Tollak and see how those words went over. "Not everyone thinks that way, you know." Stigtyr spat bitterly, the fresh scars on his face stinging with the phantom memories of the incident where they had come from. "Keeping violence in the mind." He had always thought the mind was a greater weapon than claws, but what he Stigtyr's intelligence done to help him in the fight against Tollak?
CaliWolfe What?!?! Stigtyr is not Loki! He's just a silver tongued manipulator who is aiming to get back at his big jock brother WAIT. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. Does this mean I have to get a giant golden horn helmet for him?

"Indeed, a sad fact of life. "Just like a young reaver I went a-viking with. Toll... Tollsomething. He seemed rather reckless." Skall shook his head. Ironically the lion he was thinking of was Tollak in that moment. He was eager to catch a thrall and boastfully had spent most of the outing telling Skall just how he'd go about doing it. If anything he seemed hyper to the calmer lion, if not a little too excited to be in his new position.
As far as Skall was concerned he had a lifetime ahead of him to spend catching thralls and wooing ladies. Did he really need to rush into battle like he had? It was a good way to get himself injured, or worse, in a real fight and Skall had been concerned for the younger lion's safety.
Of course, Skall himself was in general more practical. He would never run headfirst into a stampede or dive head first off a cliff just to see what awaited him at the bottom. Maybe that was why he was so frustrated at Lynnedslag, because lion's like he and Tollak were always so reckless and married to danger.Kaliforneum YEP. I outta go get Tollak a hammer too ;D Somehow. Even when his paws couldn't hold it.

Stigtyr whipped around to face the reaver so fast that he might have lost his footing on the loose rocks and dust that lay on the edge of the cliff. Sharp fury burned in his good eye as he closely regarded this reaver. "You...you know Tollak?" Were they friends? Was he Tollak's ally? Had Tollak sent this reaver to tease him, to gain his trust and then betray him? But...no...it seemed not. Unless the reaver was a fantastic actor, he didn't seem like the type Tollak would associate himself with. And he had called Tollak reckless. Stigtyr knew that if the reaver was Tollak's agent, he'd only be spouting great praises for his brother. Stigtyr sighed. His head was so clouded as of late. He was never this paranoid. And there was no way Tollak would be smart enough to concoct a plan like that. No, his brother was more of the rush-in head-first type. "Pardon. I, Tollak is my brother." Stigtyr clarified, the scars on his face stretching as he scowled.
CaliWolfe He could put it in his mouth! And throw it at people. That's plausible, right?

Skall's eyes seemed to widen. "Oh, I..." His voice trailed off, but then he let loose a laugh that shook his body entirely. "I would say forgive me for speaking ill of him, but here we are imaging our brother's deaths, hmm?" Unless Stigtyr had another brother he had been referring too earlier Skall was content in laughing at the coincidence of this situation.
How funny, he thought, that he had been antiquated to both brothers of this family. The stormborn was teeming with lions and families from all across the world. By some twist of fate he had managed to meet ones who were related to one another, or related to him in the case of Lynnedslag. Maybe his world was smaller then he had first pictured it, or maybe Skall was just getting old and becoming delusional. He hadn't been dehydrated on his viking and he swore that the singing lion looked to be his twin. Could have been a figment of his imagination, but he had drowned those thoughts long ago.
He might not have been completely new to the world and young anymore, but he wasn't awaiting death to deliver him to the afterlife either. His memory wasn't fading, not quite yet.
"My brother's name is Lynnedslag, though as he does not live among us as a pridemember I doubt you would know of him."Kaliforneum TOLLAK SMASH! Oh wait, wrong avenger. p.s: Aajamaak has absolutely nothing going on in the land of romance, Stigtyr can totally court her.

A small smile quirked upon his face. "Indeed." Was all he replied, muscles relaxing. So, there was another lion in the entire pride who thought Tollak was a reckless, crazy idiot. Well, the reaver had stopped at reckless, but Stigtyr assumed it was logical that the rest follow. It was almost like a relief. The grey male had assumed that the entire pride thought that lions like Tollak were considered role models. He certainly hadn't had very many experiences to show him otherwise. But he was still learning, and this was quite the discovery. Maybe...maybe if there were others like this yellow stranger, others with manners and a sense of honour, things in the pride might not be so hopeless after all. "I'm afraid I know not of your brother. As I am not a reaver, I do not venture outside of the pride's borders." Usually Stigtyr felt a small sense of shame in admitting this, but at the current moment that feeling was gone. Maybe it was the laid-back attitude of the one he was talking with. Maybe it was something else. "I don't suppose your Lynnedslag has tried attacking you like my brother has?" The grey lion asked, resisting the sudden urge to itch at the scars on his face.
CaliWolfe SWEET. Stigtyr will definitely do that. And it will be a triumph for him to have gotten a family before his brother. Eeeeverythings a competition. NO WAIT. Get Tollak some purple shorts. He'll look so stunning.

How peculiar. He had never thought that he might have ran into a lion with relate to another reaver he knew. That was what was still floating around Skall's mind. They seemed so different... He had thought being brothers they might have been similar in personality, he was evidently wrong.
Well, up until Lynnedslag appeared in his life Skall had no siblings to speak of. He sort of just assumed those that were born together had some sort of unbreakable sibling-bond that made them similar to one another in some odd way. Stigtyr and Tollak had just smashed this idea into pieces, but Skall didn't mind. It was more of an eye opener then anything. A good one at that.
"No, unless you count trying to hug you as an attack, then he has not." Lynnedslag was lucky that Skall wasn't aggressive as some of the other reavers. He would have taken being jumped on by someone shouting "BROOO!!" in the distance as an attack and attempt to defeat him in battle otherwise.
"Brothers are just plain stressful." He blurted out. "Stressful and annoying." He paused for a moment before adding, "and stupid."Kaliforneum Pff ha, ha. Tollak will be so mad. First he's on the path to be a lawspeaker and Tollak's still not a captain, now he's getting a family before Tollak too. xD He'll totally hate me for making him wear shorts. Just like my cat doesn't like wearing her collar. All the more reason to do it! 8D

Kaliforneum It was a knee jerk reaction, a sudden behaviour that came up from the depths of his brain both unwanted and unstoppable. Stigtyr laughed out loud, the sound rough and gravely from a throat that had not made such a loud noise in some time. It was a foreign sound to the large male, and once it ended, he found himself contemplating the meaning of it. It had a bitter aftertaste, but the laugh itself left he male feeling lighter than he had before. He supposed he found the idea of his brother wanting to hug him so utter ridiculous that Stigtyr hadn't been able to stop himself from laughing. "No, I wouldn't count that as an attack." The male wondered what it was like to have a brother so affectionate and familial. He quickly stopped himself before he got too far. It was no use to think of the impossible. He turned to face the reaver, curious. Stigtyr wondered why this male seemed to not get along with his brother when it appeared they had no conflict. Perhaps the reaver thought that his brother trying to his him as a way to get into the pride was more offensive than Stigtyr realized. "What will you do? If your brother manages to win a challenge and becomes a Stormborn? Will you accept him?" The grey male asked, genuinely curious.
CaliWolfe Weeee should do another Stig and Aaja RP. So Stigtyr can be all awkward and fail and flirting.
