Tendaji had won his challenge, and licked his wounds clean. In the days that followed he had tried to become more accustomed to the pride. It had been everything he had hoped for and more, something new, different, and there were so many lions here who were driven just like him.
He had found himself growing to like the idea of having a thrall more than he originally thought, though he was not inhuman and would not treat one badly, it was an alluring thought.
He was still a freeborn however, and had plenty of time to progress within the pride. For now the white lion would bide his time and get to know his pridemates. If he wanted more, he would certainly go out and get it.

Umeko was adjusting to her new life, she wasn't quite doing it well but she was doing it the only way she knew how. Life with eight cubs wasn't exactly easy and on top of that she was often the one left responsible for Anika's seven as well. She had agreed to raise Anika's cubs with her before she had found out she was pregnant and there was something fun about the two females, best friends, raising their cubs together.
Today was one of the few days Umeko had actually had to her self, Anika wasn't on duty and had instead that Umeko get away and spend time without fifteen little ones clamouring for her attention. So instead of caring for cubs Umeko was keeping herself busy by looking for anyone that might need some healing, Umeko was a bit of a healer. She was using the tasks to keep her mind of Bjorn and his returned mate and the fact that she was now again on her own.

Tendaji noticed someone nearby- a female.
In his efforts to blend in and fully immerse himself in his new pride he was making an effort to be social. Not too friendly or full on, most lions didn't seem the type to put up with mindless drivel, so he always tried to make it short or meaningful.
He hadn't seen her before, and if he had, he didn't notice.
The male opted for a friendly greeting, bowing his head slightly as he walked by her slowly. "Greetings."
Realising he didn't know her status in the pride, he made a mental note to check the social expectations regarding the ranks, and wondered if he should have greeted her differently. Oh well, no use in worrying. He was obviously knew, and was determined to make a great effort to be a part of the pride.

The plum lioness turned to the voice that called out greetings to her. She smiled when she saw a pale colored lion standing not to far from her. She was pretty sure he was a newcomer to the pride, or at very least she had never seen him, of course she had been pretty well locked up in the den the last while.
Out of all the lionesses in the pride that the male could have chosen to speak to Umeko was likely one of the most friendly in the pride. She had never fully subscribed to the mean fight everything that moves way of life. Instead she spent her time healing those that thought that way.
"Why hello" she greeted him warmly. Walking towards the male she made sure to keep a smile on her face. She was a little wary of males given the last one she had talked to was the one that had knocked her up and then promptly left her for the female that had suddenly reappeared in his life and called her his mate. She was trying not to hold it against all males though, it was hard to do though.
"I don't believe we have had the pleasure. My name is Umeko." she told him taking a seat next to him.

This female was certainly more forward and friendly than some he'd encountered, and he frowned gently. She'd settled next to him, so he stopped in his tracks - it would appear today he would have to socialize!
She certainly didn't look like a thrall- no injuries, confident, unafraid to talk. He guessed that she was probably just like him, a freeborn, though he would assume she had probably been in the pride longer than he had.
"Hello Umeko, I am Tendaji." He nodded his pale head slowly, unsure of what exactly to say, or how to say it. "I hope you are well?"

Umeko didn't notice the awkwardness of the male, she was just excited to have someone other than a cub to talk to and someone that would not remind her of Bjorn or his mate.
" I am well indeed." she told the male, "Out looking for those who aren't so well. I tend to a lot of the newcomers who have fought their way into the pride, or those who have come back from raids." she told him. Umeko wished she had the gull to go out and become a Reaver and see the rogue lands but she was still to nervous. If her mom and Anika had anything to say about it though one day that would change.
"Sp Tendaji do you require any medical attention?" she inquired nudging the little bag of herbs and wraps that she carried around with her.

Ah, if only she had found him a few days earlier, he would have been a ripe specimen with which to toy.
Tendaji smiled at her, pulling himself up to his full height. The male had a lot of pride, and it was obvious that winning his challenge first time to enter the pride had certainly done no damage to his ego.
He flexed his muscles this way and that, giving a little stretch as a means of testing his body for weaknesses. The pounding in his ear that he had noticed healing more slowly than his other injuries became more pronounced as he bowed his head, and he furrowed a brow as it did.
"In truth, my ear doesn't feel too great, perhaps it is just blocked with my opponents blood." He shrugged with a grin.

The plum coloured lioness beamed, feeling a sense of importance, someone to heal! Someone other than Anika and her's cubs that were constantly scrapping as stromborn cubs often did.
"Let me take a look at it." she said moving closer to him, depending on how blocked it was there was a number of things that she could do. She leaned over pearing to his ear, sure enough there was dark congealed blood in there.
"Ah its not so bad, though I could see it making hearing on this side a little harder." she said as she peered into his ear. "I can fix this without much work, I hope you don't mind me cleaning it out with my tongue." some of the lions in this pride didn't really appreciate her cleaning them like they were cubs, it was the simplest way to clear up his ear though, she could make up a potion to wash it out if he was really unhappy with her cleaning it herself but that seemed unnecessary she rather save her herbs for those in greater need.

He cleared his throat gently and looked at the purple lioness, surprise evident on his face.
What she was suggesting did at first seem both rather.. juvenile and.. strange. It was something he hadn't experienced since he was a cub. However, on the flipside, the dry blood in his ear was beyond irritating him and a well positioned claw couldn't shift it- it just scratched at already sensitive skin and sent a jolt down his body.
The female certainly seemed to know what she was doing however, and so he obliged and held out his pale head awkwardly.
"Yeah.. go ahead."

Umeko made quick work of cleaning out the males ear. It did have quite a bit of dry blood in it and she could understand that it would have felt quite uncomfortable as well as probably block up his hearing quite a bit.
"There you are all done." Umeko said moving away from the male again. "You should be right as rain." she told him with a nod. She always felt good after she helped out a pride member. Some would argue that only the Reavers were worth their weight in the pride, however Umeko knew that without nurses like her they would end up with so many sick and injured Reavers that they wouldn't have anyone to protect them or get them supplies.
"I guess I should move on and find some more injured lions." Umeko said with a nod, "It was nice to meet you Tendaji, do come and find me if you find yourself in need of a nurse." she told him with a smile, before she began to move away scooping up her pouch of herbs as she went. Zosie Its okay apparently I take forever too smile
