You arrive on a beach, somewhere northerly. It is cold, but an autumn cold rather than the winter you'd expect, and there is a stiff wind blowing off the water. Over an odor not unlike rotting fruit, there is a clean scent of sea-salt. All around you, as far up the shore as you can see, there is debris: wild fruits and vegetables, collapsed and rotting. Driftwood and broken stone. Forebodingly, pieces of recognizable bone are mired between stones and into the wet sand.

Behind you, the ocean rolls. You can see the small specks of large ships far off on the horizon. Overhead, the sky is a mass of dark gray cloud cover. It tints everything a strange gray-green. The humidity is smothering. Ahead of you: a forest, evergreens interspersed with deciduous trees, all wearing strangely dulled autumn finery.

Also ahead of you: Chaos signatures. A horde of them.

Maybe you'd better size up what you've got here first.

MECHANICS
Your opponents will be determined by a 3d6 roll. The first number will indicate the number of enemies in the mob, the second number will tell you the number of youma in the group, and the third number will tell you if there's a Captain in the group or not. There are only three Captains in the game, so once the three Captains have appeared, the third die will be dropped.

First die: Self-explanatory. 1 = One enemy. 6 = six enemies.
Second die: Also pretty self-explanatory. 1 = one youma in the group, 6 = six youma in the group. If there are more youma rolled than there are enemies in the group, then the entire group is youma. There is no overflow.
Third die: If a 2 or a 5 is rolled on the third die, a Captain has appeared.

From there, the DM will roll damage and indicate the senshi/knight each enemy is attacking. To consolidate posts, all of these will be rolled by d12s and in ascending rank order: so youma, then lieutenants, then captains, then generals.

The Negaverse stat table looks like this:
Youma - 50HP | Rolls a 12-sided damage die
Lieutenant - 100HP | Rolls 2d12 [2-24 dmg]
Captain - 150HP | Rolls 3d12 [3-36 dmg]
General - 200HP | Rolls 5d12 [5-60 dmg]

Every player may roll one die (representing their character casting their magic or physically attacking) with each post. The number you roll is the damage you do, so a 10 does 10 damage to any enemy you attack, etc, etc. They must indicate in their post which enemy they are attacking. Once an enemy is KO'd, which will generally be indicated by a DM post, attacks directed towards that enemy will be redirected towards the enemy of the highest level.

You may choose to forfeit rolling physical damage and instead roll for magic damage. Your magic is boosted by the uncorrupted and unbound power of Avalon, allowing you to treat each wave of enemies as a different battle with a reset casting counter. This means that if you get one spell a battle, you will be able to cast once in the first wave, again in the second, and again in the third. Magic attacks are assumed to always hit. If your character casts an AoE attack, then you may select up to three enemies to cast at. If your character casts a non-offensive attack, you won't roll, but you can simply write the effects into your post. Healing spells add a default +50 to the target in question. If you have a specific question on how to handle your attack, please drop me a line!

You will be responsible for maintaining your own health count at the top of your post. Player characters, however, are simply knocked out. They may be resuscitated by a healing spell. Disposable characters die when their health reaches zero, or when their player character wants to kill them (it needn't be when their HP runs out).

Basic/Page - 100HP | Rolls an 8-sided damage die, 12-sided for magic
Super/Squire - 150HP | Rolls a 12-sided damage die, 20-sided for magic
Eternal/Knight - 200HP | Rolls a 20-sided damage die, RNG 1-50 for magic
Royal - 250HP | RNG 1-50 for damage, RNG 1-75 for magic

WAVES
Waves last until all the enemies are down, and there will be three waves. I will post updating each thread at least once a day, but probably more like three or four. After a DM post your character may roll again.

Ganymede stopped questioning the limitations of magic after Elysion. If she could find herself trapped in a dream world as she slept, it should stand to reason that she could be whisked away to random locales at equally random points throughout the day.

The first thing she noticed was the Chaos signatures, but as they were not yet in view and therefore a safe enough distance away, she took the opportunity to quickly scan her surroundings, try to figure out where she was.

The second thing she noticed was that she was quite far away from Destiny City. She had no need to turn around to know that she'd arrived by an ocean. She could hear the swell of waves behind her, smell the brine on the air beneath the smell of rot. A brisk wind blew, carrying her hat off along the shore. She made no move to go after it, prior experience having taught her it wasn't worth the effort with danger lurking close by.

The third thing she noticed was that she wasn't alone. This was no less surprising than the rest of it; Elysion had been much the same, after all. For just a moment she wondered if they were back there again, but she didn't recognize this place as part of it, and she hadn't been sleeping when she'd been carried off by whatever power deemed that she should be there.

Ganymede looked around for familiar faces. Her body teemed with adrenaline, and blood rushed swiftly through her veins. She shivered, not from the cold but from the sense of danger right in front of her. She looked toward the forest—suspicious, wary—but as of yet made no move toward it.

“Where are we?” she said to whomever might deem it appropriate to answer.

Spluttering and choking as she landed butt first in the ocean waves, Cruithne staggered to her feet and coughed before slowly making her way towards the shore. Thankfully, she hadn't landed far from the beach. Though, that rather raised the question of where exactly she had landed.

Shivering a bit, she rubbed at her arms, eyes wide as she glanced around. She'd been home. This was not home or any art of Destiny City that she knew! Gulping a little, she inched her way towards a pretty blonde senshi. The faintly sickening aura of Chaos was nearby and frankly, Cruithne wanted to be close to a full senshi if that dark wave broke over her.

Coughing again, this time from the underlying smell of rot, she shook her head and shrugged as the blonde asked where they'd all landed. THough the Chibi rather thought that the more pressing matter wasn't where they were so much as what was going on.

Ganymede eyed the young Senshi that approached her. An uneasy feeling twisted her stomach when she saw that the girl had to have been around the same age as Oberon or Auriga. She motioned the girl closer, suddenly protective, her expression equal parts cautious and determined.

“Are you okay?” she said. The younger Senshi seemed alright, albeit a bit soaked. Ganymede had never known anyone to be hurt through magical teleportation, but for all she knew they could have just been lucky.

“I'm Ganymede,” she added. She didn't bother with any further signifiers. Eternal was obvious and naming her sphere was unnecessary. “Stay close,” she said, and tried her best not to make it sound like an order. It wasn't one. More a word of caution than anything. “I can't tell how many of them there are, but our chances are better together than separated.”

Arian had been in the kitchen to fetch a mug of hot chocolate and was returning to the living room with the cream and marshmallow topped hot drink in one hand and a plate of chocolate chip cookies in the other when the summons came... Although the dark-haired young man hadn't realised that he was being summoned.

Instead one moment he was walking back towards the living room and thinking about the Christmas ornament themed earrings that he was planning to start working on and then the next there was what felt like a sudden tug and then he was suddenly on a beach with his hands up and in place as if holding a holding a non-existent mug and a non-existent plate and his boots sinking into sand rather than carpet.

Boots? Feeling silly, he dropped his empty hands and stared down at his feet and found that the fluffy slippers that he'd been wearing had been replaced by Athene's boots and that actually it wasn't just the boots - he was really on a beach and powered up as Athene.

And...

A spluttering sound distracted him, had him turning towards the water he could hear from not that far behind him in time to spot a purple-haired girl making her way to shore. He walked towards her, shivering a little from the n** in the strangely autumn rather than winter air, the words Are you okay on the tip of his tongue.

A pretty blonde senshi reached the girl first and as he crossed the last of the brief distance separating them he heard spoke the same three words that he'd been planning to ask the girl. Although the purple-haired girl was unfamiliar, the other eternal was not, Athene recognising her as Ganymede even before she introduced herself to the chibi senshi.

He waited for the girl to answer Ganymede's question, before asking quietly "Do either of you happen to know where here is?" For a moment glancing warily at the forest that was ahead of where they currently stood and from which a whole bunch of chaos auras seemed to be coming from, before adding "I'm Sailor Athene by the way." It was more for the purple-haired girl's benefit than for Ganymede's as Athene was pretty sure that the recognition - at least when it came to names - was mutual on Ganymede's part.

Methone stared at her location.

Stared at the ocean, stared at the rotting vegetables.

Then she sighed with an almost lazy sort of sadness and pulled her out of phone.

"You're an a*****e for dragging me into this Castor and not sticking to my side." She read the text out loud as she sent it. She could feel one other signature, stronger then herself, weaker then the prince and hoards of Chaos.

Even a little off Chaos.

Perhaps she should attempt her way over to the eternal senshi first, and then go from them

Asclepius found herself on a beach suddenly, a sudden shift from the interior of her hideout where she had been seconds before.

"Oh," she breathed, somewhere between awed at the surroundings and irritated at the sudden transportation. Her breath condensed in the chill. It was strangely beautiful here, somehow in spite of the rot. Or maybe, the Senshi of Medicine reminded herself, she had just gotten used to old, decaying, crumbling places from all her visits to her home world.

She could see others nearby, too, and feel their auras, further down the sand. Asclepius started to make her way towards them, taking care walking in her heels on the sand. The hairs on the back of her neck started to prickle, too, at the sensation of Chaos nearby, too.

Rather a lot of it, it seemed like.

"Hello," she called out as she drew closer to the other senshi already gathering, the colors of their uniforms standing out against the greyness of the surroundings.

Castor had seen his fair share of what he liked to call 'moonshit'. Dreams, nightmares, death, illusions, realities, pasts and recently, futures as well. It was old hat. Being sent to a new location? Okay, he could deal with it. Italy had been blessedly sparse as far as negaverse activity went, and senshi activity had been well...
him.

This place however, was not so sparse. It was dense, with an air that stank of earthen things, and energy that was corrupt linger past his vision. It was the only way he knew it was earth. Earth stank in a way that his world didn't.
Pollux fared better, not bothered by what his brother thought an 'earthen' smell. To him it was low tide at worst. Rotting fruit was less pungent than fish stink. He had less a guess as to where they were other than 'not dead'. Better than coma land at the least.

The pair however, both made faces at being suddenly wet and cold and having their sense assaulted, making their way out of the sand and onto the shore proper.
"................" Pollux looked at Castor who's sudden shift of 'This place is gross and I don't like it' expression went to 'Why are your looking at me like this is my fault I didn't do anything for once stop assuming it is my fault for everything'.

"One time."
".............." Pollux didn't buy it, shifting his gaze towards the others present.

It was then that Castor's phone rang, late, with the message that Methone had sent.

"OH. Hey Gorgeous!" He immediately ignored the other senshi to go greet his friend. Pollux just shrugged. Whatever the case, he was alive, there was chaos, and with the senshi congrigating.

"How long have you been here?" His voice was harsher then intended, more demanding then needed. He shook his head. "Appologies, but if you've been lingering, it'd be safer if we moved. Whatever is out there will have sensed our arrival." A pointed look at his brother.

"Especially his." He smiled just slightly, noting Asclepius. "Been a while since the mercenaries. It's good to see you again" He said conversationally. "But I digress. Introductions can wait, as a mass of chaos that large will not remain stationary, not with this many of us here... wherever 'here' is."

Methone smiled as Castor and Pollux joined their area, and looked around. For a moment it didn't seem like she would answer the more stern of the brothers before her gaze zoomed back to him.

"Not long really, a couple of minutes, time enough to send you blistering text messages and such Prince Charmings." She gave a pointed stare at Castor, before relaxing and slipping a yawn out.

"Well, I'd like to stick with a group." Her arm looped through Castor's, in a very loose but protective sort of kind. She was not useless or needy, but she liked general contact, and she was out of her element so to speak. "If that's okay. I am still all new to this wonderful world of danger."

She sort of wish Ash was here with her as well.

"Hello pretty lady." Methone zoomed in on another senshi female. "Nice to meet you even in dire circumstances." The urge to latch on the other senshi was overwhelming, just to touch and see....

Three youma and one captain emerge from the forest!

User ImageA dark-haired captain emerges from between two particularly gnarled trees and stops there. "Ho, Order," she calls, cupping her hands around her mouth. "Sorry, but this is a private party." She doesn't smile at her own quip, and continues to pick her way through rotting pumpkins and debris with deceptive ease. The needle-like heels she sports seem like they ought to slow her down in the sand and stone. They don't. She's confident enough in her safety from the group that she watches where she steps, hands in the air for balance. She is wearing a silly number of golden rings.

The great maul appeared in her hands like it had been meant to be there, and she accepted the weight of the hunk of obsidian capped in gold easily. She looks up, brown eyes flitting between each member of the party. "I count seven," she says. "Shall I even this up?" She pulls a starseed out of her cleavage, blows it off, and shatters it.

Three youma emerge from the underbrush: a draconic looking thing with a wicked-looking hawkbeast on its back, and separate from them a too-stretched humanoid thing.

"Cipritine," she says, gesturing to herself. "Abrudas, Taetrus, and Digeris. Now get lost, or we'll slaughter you."

Captain Cipritine 150HP
Draconic Youma Abrudas 50HP
Hawk Youma Taetrus 50HP
Humanoid Youma Digeris 50HP

Sarras Squire

Sarras Squire of the Cosmos wasn't too flabbergasted by the sudden twist of fate that life decided to throw at him. If anything, he was more surprised that it decided to lure others in as well this time. For a brief moment, he feared that it was the Code that had plucked him from his nightly quest for vengeance but there were no familiar landmarks. Wherever he was, thankfully, wasn’t Olympus, and it wasn’t overrun with confused and self-righteous knights. No lecture, no demands for sacrifices, and with any luck, no Mercury pages requesting he put his life on the line for some trinket.

That alone might have been enough to pull him out of his mood, but be as it may, it was like tossing a cup of water at a raging inferno at this point. As it was, there was simply too much that he suspected was about to go on for him to enjoy the little things in life, and being in an unknown location, with allies he barely recognized from maybe one or two encounters or pass-bys in the past, each of them just as CLUELESS as he was, and Chaos aura tingling on his senses, there was exactly very little for Sarras to be happy about.

“Oh for ******** sake,” he said with a groan, taking in the scenery around him and looking for a better weapon that wasn’t simply a cup, with seemingly pointless function or purpose besides to piss him off. The driftwood looked promising and he sloshed towards it, hoping that his uniform wasn’t flimsy enough to deteriorate from the sea water. All the while, he grumbled, passing by Ganymede, the familiar Cruithne though he hoped she wouldn’t notice him as he was still whether sour about their last encounter, and the long haired senshi (Athene), even ignoring Castor and Pollux, despite having respected their dedication and realistic view of how to handle the Negaverse, looking for a piece of driftwood that looked like it might have sufficed as a decent enough weapon and would endure a few hits. Given the feel of the Chaos aura that tickled his senses, he needed something durable, otherwise what would have been the point. “This had better be good.”

With any luck, the general he pined for would have been there, and if he could somehow corner him here on wherever the ******** he was, it would have all been worth it to him. The thought of that murderous a*****e laying dead at his feet, impaled with a broken and splintered piece of driftwood, that would have made his abrupt abduction worth all the while. Instead, there was no Buddingtonite, but another officer, clad with golden rings and admittedly a formidable looking weapon. And she wasn’t alone, though Sarras’ attention remained heavily on her. Youma were youma, no matter how disgusting or terrifying they may be, but a Captain? She’d be trouble, and she might know where to find Buddingtonite…

“Go ******** yourself,” Sarras said, not caring who was present or who he may have offended with his language. In a few minutes, they’d have far worse than foul language to worry about.

Athene's arrival was a welcome reassurance. Ganymede greeted him with a small smile and a welcoming nod. Familiar faces had a way of taking some of the direness out of dire situations.

The arrival of Castor and his brother, on the other hand, earned a much different reaction.

Ganymede rolled her eyes, brought her hands up to drag them down her face in frustration, looking deep within herself for the patience she knew was there. Look on the bright side, she told herself—between herself, Athene, Castor, and the rest of the new arrivals, they should have more than enough manpower to handle whatever came at them from the forest.

And come at them it did. A Captain and three youma. Ganymede snorted inelegantly, glancing toward Athene again with her mouth quirked into a smirk. In the absence of any other Jovians, Athene was, in her opinion, perfect company.

“Not too much trouble, you think?” she said.

The Captain's weapon looked troublesome, but it also looked heavy. Realistically the Captain herself would be slow with it, easy to dodge. If they distributed their numbers evenly, she expected the battle to come would be over soon enough.

“If no one else has a plan,” Ganymede announced, raising her voice enough to be heard by her allies, “I say us Eternals make quick work of the Captain while the rest focus on the youma. Somehow I doubt this is all they've got, but it'll make for a good warm-up.”
