Due to a variety of circumstances, mostly ones revolving around being a big baby whiner, Abbi had sincerely neglected her training duties. Rationally she would tell herself it was because she had been spending more time in the Infirmary, she wasn't going to become a Battle Nurse by hanging out on the training fields after all. (Actually, another rational Abbi could pipe up that a lot of time on the training fields would be beneficial because then she could heal herself or her training partner should either of them take any damage. And working right in the middle of the metaphorical action would be even better because that was exactly what she wanted to do! But that argument undermined what she was trying to tell herself and at this point Abbi was a little confused by how much she was talking to herself.) Regardless of her minor personal diatribe, she was finally at the training fields, standing with her hands on her hips as she surveyed the empty arena. "Well, ol' girl. Sure has been awhile." She said to herself, feeling very Main Character. { Aye, lassie. Has been. Now get yer scrawny arse in that ring. Find yerself a dummy, ah wanna good stretch }It had been an equally long time since Viveca had been summoned, both ghost and girl content to sit in Abbi's mind and experience the feeling of complacency. But now they were restless, Abbi quick to stride out into the field with a bit of a skip in her step. "Ya think I'll have to drag one of those dummies over? Those things weigh way too much..." She frowned as she crossed one arm straight across her chest and held it tight with the other, stretching her muscles before she summoned her weapon.

It was slightly nippy out as Matt headed towards the training grounds, today Kasi had insisted they practice on his skills of moving around with the spear in an open territory and to actually pay attention to wear the ends of the spear was compared to the ground. There was a lot of regret in him not picking up practicing sooner however being more inclined of being a doctor he hadn’t seen the real reason of why he should have. Yet the more he was around and some of the massive amounts of damage and somewhat dying like experiences there was the realization he would have to learn at some point. Pulling off his coat and tying it around his waist Matt made his way towards the dummies noting someone else there. “Hey are you looking for some practice?” He figured that asking he before moving dummies was better.

For a few moments more Abbi stood there stretching out her arms before she bent down at the waist to stretch her legs. That didn't last long before she stood idle for a minute, trying to muster up the internal strength to drag one of the dummies over to the course. They were just so heavy and she hated them so much and didn't move like people and-- Someone spoke behind her and the teen jumped into the air, managing to stifle her little shriek that threatened to pop out. With wide eyes Abbi whirled around, a smile already forming on her mouth because heck yes, she was totally looking for some practice. "Yowza!"And then. "Crapbaskets, I said that out loud."And finally. "Hey! I think I know you!" Her smile turned from clear dreamy admiration to genuine interest and she hopped into a stilted run toward him. A dramatic jump cleared the remaining distance between them and the girl grinned up at him. Craning back Abbi tilted her head to one side to inspect him, tapping a finger to the side of her face in hopes of jogging her memory of how she knew this dude. "You... You came with us to the movie!" Right, right? Only when they'd gone to the movie his hair had been only kinda hot. Now it was mega hot and no Abbi wasn't fluttering her eyes at him in a manner she hoped was cute, no not her.

He was not expecting her to jump when he spoke, not even thinking about the fact that she probably didn’t expect to hear anyone out on the field but at least it was cute in a kitten sort of way. Even her saying crapbaskets out loud was amusing as she ran and then jumped towards him with flair, it sort of reminded him of a really happy kid that no matter was always excited and he couldn’t help but laugh a little. Her happiness was infectious even if Matt felt he was towering over when she craned up to look at him, her eyes giving him a rather endearing look making him almost feel like he was suppose to give her a hug. Chuckling, he gave her a bit of an apologetic smile, “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you I just thought asking if you wanted to spar would be better than having to lug one of those dummies out.” Pointing to them he gave her another grin before holding his hand out to shake, “Abbi right? We went to go see one of the Marvel movies at the mall.”

"Nah, its ok. I'm like craaazy jumpy!" Abbi told him with a hand wave and a crooked smile, definitely a fan of the mentality that making fun of herself first would keep others from beating her to it. As for sparring, she nodded excitedly. "You are like... My total hero right now. I hate those dummies. With a passion and you just saved me having to fight one. Thank you." The hand she takes with relish, giving it an energetic pump before she lets go to wiggle a finger excitedly at him. "Yeah! You remembered!" A+ Mr Tall, Dark and Polite. "It was Guardians of the Galaxy! And you're... Matt?" Please be right, please be right, please please pleeeaseee be right. "Got a last name? Division?" Abbi grinned again, walking backwards into the training circle as she waved him to follow her. With a bit of an exaggerated motion she summoned her scythe, twirling it as soon it was formed, end over end until she finally swung it to a stop and set the pole-arm down against the ground, looking mighty pleased with herself. "What rank are you? I'm Intermediate, that ok?" Please, please, please don't make her fight a dummy.

“Well I am glad I can be someone’s hero today usually I just get the here’s more paperwork to fill out lackey or it’s your turn to deal with the crazies.” The largest drawback to having actual experience as a doctor was the fact that people seemed to want to dump all the not fun work on someone who knew what they were doing and the fact that he was really nice didn’t help the fact he couldn’t say no. “Bingo your right I am glad you remembered,” he replied grinning, “Matt Duffy and I am part of the moon division mostly because it was closer to being a doctor I could get. What division are you?” He followed her towards the training ground summoning his own weapon as he tried to avoid letting it touch the ground. A little shower of sparkles shimmered off as the wings of the spear formed as he held it out in front of him. Matt watched as Abbi moved the scythe around with ease feeling really impressed by her skills. Damn, no really jealous she could twirl something that large it was sort cool even if it was girly and cute. It was at least twenty times better than what he could do with his own spear. “I have to admit I am a massive slacker when it comes to training so I am still trainee but as long as that doesn’t bother you we can still spar.”

A laugh left her and she shrugged, swinging the scythe up again so that she could balance the pole over her shoulders, an attempt to look cool and relaxed. "Yeah well, we're all mad here." She said it with a grin before she swung the blade off again, doing a little hop-skip-step in a wide circle. "Hey! You're a Moonie too and hey! You wanna be a Doctor? That's awesome!" With her interest piqued, Abbi stopped her little wiggling around she was doing, one hand leaving the pole to wave around excitedly. "I'm studying in the Infirmary right now to be a Battle Nurse--er, uh... An EMT, I guess. Front line stabilization till we can get them to the Infirm, that kinda thing." Huh, how come she'd never seen him in the Infirmary? Maybe they kept him in the Life Labs? "You ever work in the Infirm?"
Another laugh prefaced her reply. "It doesn't bother me at all! I just, yanno, didn't wanna kick your butt to Timbuktu and back and you be upset." Her crooked grin has returned, only this time its got a bit of a mischievous glint to it. But before she could do anything else, she had to stop and coo over his weapon. "Wooooow! Your weapon is so pretty and it sparkles ohmigosh ahhhh! So jelly!" In her head Viveca squatted angrily, rummaged around loudly and made her headmate wince, but Abbi shook it off to wander wide blue eyes over the butterfly bedecked weapon.
"Alright doc, show me whatcha got!" The girl swooped forward and swung the scythe at him, but intending to miss him, stuck the bottom of the pole-arm out and tapped him on the arm as lightly as she could. Since he was still a Trainee, and all.

Matt nodded with a grin as he brought the spear above his head and twirled it for a moment and then brought it back to his side as made sure that neither ends scraped along the ground. If he had swung at any point and had caused the edge of the spear to hit the ground the training was going to be pointless. It was entirely different tho if Abbi had knocked him over, which wouldn't be the first time he lost to a female. “I was in school to be a Doctor before coming here, so I sort of wanted to keep moving in that direction I really wanted to do more than just fight.” Moving the spear in front of him he kept his feet apart grinning as she wiggled and waved with excitement. “A battle nurse?” Pausing thinking of if he had heard that term anywhere, “That sounds pretty cool I don’t think I have met any others wanting to be a battle nurse. Are there many?” He wondered if there had been any doctors who had helped on the front lines, most of the time he was the person who was more worried about what needed to be done after stabilization and keeping them from other death like issues. “I’ve worked in the infirmary a few times, but mostly checkups on people and well lots of paper work because I am a sucker and can’t say no. I also help out in the life labs, a lot actually.”Laughing he shook his head, “No worries, I have had my butt kicked to Timbuktu before and the scars to prove it so as long as you don’t stab me in the chest and leave me for dead I won’t be upset if you beat me.” As she coo’d over the spear he felt a little bashful over it as he tried not to show it in his face, “Er thanks usually I am not all for um sparkles but I can’t pretend she isn’t pretty.”“Whatever you say Battle Nurse,” He braced himself as she swung the scythe at him not expecting her to switch and his him in the arm, not that it hurt he was merely surprised at how careful she was. Lowering one end of the spear down he swung the other end at her side, smacking her with the flat side of the butterfly wings. HP: 37/40 Damage: 4 Target: Abbi Charge: 1/3

"That's so cool! Where were you attending school?" Man, it must have been super nice to know what you wanted to do with your life after graduating high school. Wait, how pre-med was he? He looked older but, Abbi wasn't sure how old. And of course that was necessary information to the completion of his otome file. She laughs and looks sheepish, a hand passing in front of her smile to wave at him. "Battle Nurse is uh... A term I came up with? It sounds better than Frontline Medic or EMT, kind of like a... A video game class, yanno?" Not everyone appreciated the gaming references, but one never knew. It was always nice to find a fellow friend in the Infirmary and the girl leaned to one side so that her pigtails fell in the same direction. "Maybe we can work an infirmary shift together sometime!" But then again, he might get annoyed with how chatty she was during her time there, always talking to any patients conscious enough not to shove her off. As for hurting him Abbi took on a look of horror, shaking her head feverishly. "Never ever! I don't think I'd even be able to stab anyone in the chest! Its so... Violent!" Said the girl with a giant scythe in her hands. The tap from the butterfly made her wince and laugh all at once because it was a funny visual, a pretty colored thing used to beat people up, but she retaliated quickly. Her feet shuffled her back from the spear and once again used the pole-arm to tap at him, angling the scythe up to aim for his leg. "I'll try to go easy on ya." She stuck out her tongue and winked at him before she skipped backwards. HP: 46/50 Damage: 4 Attack Target: Matt Charge: 2/3

“I was attending Stanford out in Cali. Did you take any med classes?” He wasn’t entirely sure how old Abbi was, guessing age was really not his best suit he merely assumed that everyone at Desu was pretty close to his age without asking. Sort of like how on the internet everyone was just a male and he never asked the wiser. Besides it wasn’t polite to ask a woman their age anyways right? “No its ok I like the term Battle Nurse, Frontline Medic sort of sounds like that um flea medication commercial thing……...” Yea way to go there Matt please compare her job to a flea bath, that is really going to make you popular with anyone right this was why you are alone. Looking a little flustered he shook his head, “I mean Battle Nurse does sound like a pretty awesome video game class you should keep it.”Now he could at least say he knew someone who wasn’t a patient in the infirmary. Usually he sort of just kept to himself dealing mostly with patients for as long as he needed. Nodding to her he grinned, “That would be great, working a shift together that is and I am glad that someone doesn’t want to stab in the chest. I wish I could say it has only happened once but….” Matt wasn’t really lucky with the female race. “Anyways you don’t have to worry about hurting me too much,” giving her a grin that he was sincere. As she shuffled back from he started to swing the spear around not paying attention to where one end was going as it threatened to dig into the ground as Kasi’s voice screamed in his head. Stumbling he watched as Abbi’s scythe hit him in the arm and came dangerously close to his leg and other areas. Scary thoughts. “You’re really good at this aren’t you,” chuckling to cover up his stumbling from earlier he brought the spear around as he stepped a foot to the side bringing rotating the lower end of the spear up as he grazed the side of her leg with the edge of the wings. Standford, sheesh! Not only did he have hot hair, he was a smarty pants. Abbi laughed more as a reflex than because something was funny, her eyes darting down to ground as she stubbed a toe against the arena floor. Sheepish in actions, she tried not to look at him as she spoke. "Ahhh, ha yeah uh... No, I didn't, uh, I didn't take any med classes until I got here... I didn't really have the chance? I, um... I graduated high school and two months later shipped myself out to Deus." Finally she looks up at him, shrugging her shoulders. "But I did graduate a year early!" That was something... Right? There is a beat between when Matt pauses and Abbi begins to laugh, the noise bursting from her in a loud trill. "O-M-G you're right! Frontline Medic sounds terribleeee!" She continues to laugh, doubling over a little because it is quite funny, never once thinking his words could be misconstrued as insulting. After a few moments she perks up, her lopsided grin back. "Thanks! And we'll totes work a shift together, it'll be fun! If we're lucky we can get Jack to share some coffee with us, but sometimes he's too grumpy so yanno... Its a gamble."That same horror stricken look comes back because who would stab him in the chest?! He was so nice! And pretty! "For serious? What kind of people do you hang out with? Cause I think they need a lesson in polite interactions with other human beings, jeez louise..." The teen rocked back on her heels in disbelief, shaking her head and making a small noise when her leg is tapped. Still in the mindset not to hurt him, she gives a return tap, less harshly than her weapon would prefer. "Eh, I'm OK. I could be better... Hence the training." A hand gestures to their surroundings. "But thanks! You're not too bad yourself!"HP: 44/50 Damage: 1 Attack Target: Matt Charge: 3/3

Matt gave her a little of a puzzled looked before a feeling of guilt rolled over him as she grew really sheepish about school and classes. There was some feelings that he had stepped into some sort of bounds that he shouldn’t have and hadn’t mean to offend her in any sort of way. When she finally looked back up at him he gave her an apologetic smile hoping that maybe some of his cuteness would help but he didn’t think so. “Well that is still pretty awesome right? I couldn’t graduate high school a year early, and med classes still count.” It was totally something. He chuckled as she laughed at the frontline medic comment, feeling relieved she didn’t see it as some sort of insult to her line of work. He really should pay more attention to what he said tho, saying wrong things resulted in pain. “I don’t know who Jack is but coffee is always a good thing, I will look forward to working a shift with you,” giving her a nod of and a grin to give her the impression that he was being completely sincere to her. “Eh, I can’t say I really hang out with anyone, I mostly just do my own thing. I just somehow find myself in situations where people want to either beat me or kill me. Some of them could use lessons but I am not entirely sure if it would really help, one was like some deranged woman. Not entirely sure what I did to her tho…..” Matt shrugged as he shuffled his feet a little as he tried not to chuckled as she made a small noise. “I am actually pretty terrible for the most part, I am here because I was err forced to train not hitting things that weren’t my target by accident.” He looped the spear around his back bringing it to the opposite side of her body, lunging forward he swung at the lower part of her legs near her knee hitting it harder than he had intended as a flash of worry appeared on his face. Well, cuteness was always a pretty heft contender for forgiveness when it came to Abbi, so she returned the smile as best she could, though her own didn't quite come out as sincere. He had just totally been to med school and she had... Not even applied to any colleges, actually. "Yeah, well, I only graduated a year early cause I was some smarty pants hot shot in second grade." Wow, super impressive. "Oh man, I'm sure you'll meet Jack soon! He is a big butt-face, but he's a pretty good guy once you scratch past the surface of his grumpiness. He's a Lifer, but he works in the Infirmary a lot." For all her complaints about him, Abbi still infused her voice with a sweetness reserved only for the best of friends. Talking about her friend, as well as the promise of a shared shift, perked her right back up and she was once more bouncing on her toes. An undignified noise left Abbi when she was hit on the side of one leg, loosing her balance and tripping to one side. "That's more like it!" She cheered, swinging the scythe around to fit the blade behind his knees and pulling, intending to literally knock him off his feet. "C'mon Duffy! No holdin' back just cause I'm cute and smaller than you!" No, Abbi wasn't at all competitive what would give anyone that idea. HP: 34/50 Damage: 9 Attack Target: Matt Charge: 3/3

“I think skipping any grade is still pretty awesome, I never did that don’t think I was ever that smart I spent a lot of time studying.” He had watched her return his smile however it looked less cheerful as it had been previously as if he was still stepping into territory he should avoid. As far as he was concerned being smart was better than anything, you could always learn anything you wanted with or without school and you didn’t have to miss all the parties, like he had. Raising a brow he wondered if he had come across any lifer that was grumpy, all of them where to him or at least most of them. Usually he was being handed some sort of paperwork that some lifer didn’t want to write all out and were too annoyed from whatever work they had to do with some stubborn patient. “I’ll keep an eye out for him then,” Matt figured he couldn’t be entirely all-bad with how much praise she gave him. The hook of the scythe behind his legs caught Matt off guard as he fell back onto the ground his staff colliding into the dirt. s**t, he was going to hear about it later fore sure he thought giving Abbi a grin. “Hey hey there is something called not hitting a cute woman now cut me a little slack I am not entirely use to the whole beat up others when I am suppose to giving first aid.” Reaching for his spear he swung it at her foot not entirely sure what he was trying to do.
