If you feel the need to talk to anyone in the future about certain changes or guides you are planning, please feel free to do so here.
If you need me, quote me here or shoot me a PM Otherwise, I'll be trying to write guides =A=

// Sips tea
Daily progress report: - Cleaned up Youtube Guide so it reflects the purpose of this fourm better - Created Hypster, Grooveshark guides, and Soundcloud guides - Need to work on testing CSS properties on these players for common things people might look for
I also made a list of all the guides we (might) be making. All in all, it looks to be about 7 (unless we find new websites) =w=;; I'm hoping to leave the MP3Player and Audio play up to Confelicity. Billy, I have no idea about so that might just be re-summarizing uudon (which is easy). Soundcloud... I'm tempted to make someone else who already has it on his profile write (cough)... Nah, he's got his own guides to update.

(Lol, are you more of a tea person than a coffee one?) You're so productive emotion_kirakira Should I imitate the format of your guides (if you don't mind)? It's very clean, and it would probably be best to do that so that things aren't totally different and confusing when people look from guide to guide. So, do you make these guides here and just give links to people when they need help? I was wondering if you would ever do something to publicize them in the PD or Guides and Resources subforum. Even if this is a public guild, I'm afraid people won't see this stuff unless they specifically ask for it. And no one really knows about MP3 Player or AudioPlay sweatdrop Btw, I found something new: Dewplayer. I had actually found it earlier, but I couldn't figure out how to use it because the code was all in html. But then I found this website which allows people to upload music files and then it puts them into a Dewplayer playlist for you and gives you an embed code emotion_c8 . Then I manipulated the player type and tested all of them on my mule account again. However, I'm getting that problem again where the song info won't show up, though I guess it works for the playlist because that was the one with the embed code. If this looks legitimate, I'll work on it. (But I think the song info part is the best part sweatdrop )

Sure, you can keep the same format ovo I suppose I should make a "base template" so it's easier to copy... Or you can just base it off of the blank Soundcloud guide so far. At the moment, since things are still being written, I'm just linking things when people ask ' w ' ;; I might set up something in the PD later just linking to this subforum or maybe ask Fredy to add this to his Q&A though and I can bribe Yoshi too maybe.
Oooo pretty shiny new player o3o So much testing to do... If there isn't much you can find on things, I'll just try and guess and check things myself eue If you use the Element Inspector and inspect the object, you can see some of the possible parameters, but I'm not too sure how those work.

Okay, cool biggrin
Oh, okay... I see I was mistaken. I thought the smaller players could show song titles, but they aren't supposed to do that sweatdrop . It works for the other players, though, the ones that are supposed to be for playlists. I suppose if someone wanted a single song player with the title showing, we could use CSS to cut off the forward and backward buttons. Once the playlist is uploaded, though, it can't be organized. The website that hosts it will continue adding any newly uploaded songs to the previous playlist and the link will auto-update. I don't know how to start a new playlist... I tried clearing my browser cache but that didn't do the trick. Might be something I don't know about sweatdrop .
Also drives me crazy how there's no color customization for such cute buttons sad

Finished the Flash MP3 Player guide! razz I figured that I should get your approval, since it's my first guide ever sweatdrop I think the parameters post might be little too long, but I thought separating it into parts would be weird to do. There are some parameters that only work for certain players, and some that work for all the players but one of them, etc., so I marked them. Is it too confusing? Will be tackling AudioPlay next.

Geez, that's a lot of parameters .... surprised you were able to find and test all of those @___@ I'm still trying to decide the best way to go about listing the CSS codes, since there's so many options and factors which play a role in things. I was thinking about suggesting you to tweak that post a bit, but then again it looks pretty much fine the way you currently have it.
I have to step up my game and work on CSS posts and Soudcloud

I have to step up my game and work on CSS posts and SoudcloudYou're welcome! For the parameters, most of them were listed in the generator, so it was matter of testing which ones worked and what they did. I put the CSS codes in a way that people could copy and paste stuff, but I'll do it any way you want me to. I think I saw that the only guide with the CSS instructions part done was the Hypster guide; should I do it that way? I might have made my guide too noobish sweatdrop

I dunno eue My input is just write it as you like for now. Maybe we'll ask for community feedback eventually. Everything can always be edited at a later date!

Things I'm fiddling with: AudioPlay has an option to loop infinitely (or so it says on the webpage), but I am unsure of what value to input in order to do so. Zero is the default (so that it will play once) and any other number will make the song repeat that certain number of times. I thought that Dewplayer was good when I checked it out before, as the playlists and smaller players were working just fine, except for one (sort of big) thing. The playlist players require a hot link to an xml file, and that is taken care of when you use this site, as I mentioned in a previous post. However, this upload site will not let you manipulate the playlist, so there's no moving songs around, or removing songs. What's more, it holds this file for an indefinite amount of time, and I have no idea how to remove it in order to make a new playlist if necessary. (Refreshing the page and clearing the browser cache does nothing, but maybe I'll try again.) The actual making of an xml file and hotlinking it is something I haven't been able to do successfully and it's little bit too much work for a playlist. It may be better just to warn everyone that you should make a playlist very carefully if you're using Dewplayer, or just not make a Dewplayer guide.

Decided to start on the Dewplayer guide after all. The playlist option is doable but the customization of the list seems pretty limited, as stated earlier. The smaller players can certainly be utilized, though, so I'll get those in at least for their cute buttons. I'll leave space for the playlist stuff anyway...

December is finally over so I'll spend a few days cleaning up the guides I've started since I finally have free mules to test things on X'D Happy New Year ~

I remembered to work on things here! Hooray ; u ; Some changes:
The "Read Me" sticky has been cleaned up a bit and I organized things in alphabetical order All of the guides now have a "Last Updated" tag in their first post This was just done so that we can make sure they stay at least somewhat up to date. I'd like to have them checked/updated every few months in the future so they don't gather dust ^^; Also marked off the Grooveshark guide as complete since it's pretty simple Need to work on the others later...
I was thinking about adding another kind of general "CSS Media" guide It would only list the selectors of Classic/Current media panels and some CSS you might want to apply though... eh, maybe not?

I am not so sure that the suggested CSS Media guide would have very much content to it. What is the extra CSS? If it's going to include codes that are specific to each type of player, I think they'd be better off in their respective guides.

The funny thing is that my room is actually a mess IRL. I'm only good at organizing small spaces Yeah... I was thinking about making it so that we wouldn't have to repeat the basics of the Media/Multimedia panels in each guide (like this is the selector names, this is how to change the height/width, etc...) ^^; Maybe that wouldn't be too repetitive though, since some people only want to go into one thread for everything.
Merp, back to working then.
