Night was when the caves, foyer to the city of the Dark Tribe, came to life. Crimson, cobalts, and coals slithered and glided through the cave entrance and into the night. It was also one of the few times of the day when the light-pelts left the safety of the citadel for the hostile world outside; pearls and pales studded the dark susurrus of eventide. Nighttime. Darktime. There was blood out there--soft, warm, pumping vigorously through the body. Energy, practically incarnate. Desdemona, melodramatic [minor] actress of the stage, hovered around the cave entrance, watching her tribemates leave for the night's feeding. It didn't take much to keep a Dark tribess such as herself going for another twenty-four hours. Just a few sips of blood, even from different B'alam, and she'd be ready to practice and perform. The trick was just finding someone, someone out in the open. She hated going inside dwellings--it felt so...wrong, so rude. She refused it entirely. She would rather find someone out amongst the stars. If they were willing, so much the better, though there were so few willing bloodgivers in the world.
She headed east into deeper night, scanning the ground with dark eyes. Her own dark coloration made her an odd choice for an incave job such as the theater, but her heart had been sold to it from first it beat by the will of the Grand Weaver. She was bound to it, heart and soul. Just thinking about it made her giddy. So giddy that she almost missed the pale patch of color below her. She squinted and tilted her head. Yes, there did seem to be a B'alam down there--a quick taste of the air with her nose confirmed it. A tahtll, it seemed, dark but for a few stray patches of pale coloration. She softly landed on the ground near him. Quite handsome. Earth tribe--they seemed to be quite common. But should she really feed from an ally without their permission first...? Tough question. She paused and watched him.

Enki never found himself able settle down. He'd never been able to grow attached to something enough to plant himself there and sprout roots. Instead he was more like a tumbleweed moving from place to place. He didn't really care for company either so he was alone. He'd been woven into existence further north than most of his 'tribe' only to find once he met his tribe he didn't care too much for them in the least. He wasn't sure why he didn't care. The lifestyle perhaps just didn't appeal.
Regardless now he were here, nearby the dark tribes borders. They were a mysterious people. No one from the outside truly knew what went on only what the dark tribe chose to showcase. his gaze stayed on the distant mountain till the sun vanished. one could almost see dark shapes emerge and encircle the mountain as night fell.
But perhaps, Enki best settle down for the night. Unlike the dark tribe he wasn't nocturnal nor did not have their gift of eyesight. Enki begin his search for a place to rest for the night. Perhaps he would try tomorrow, it had been a long journey here, though travel was familiar like an old friend. Enki had missed Desdemona's soft approach having yet to turn around a strange feeling began to creep over him. The only indication there was another nearby as he continued to search. Enki paused finally and looked around finding desdemona behind him. "Who are you?" he asked coolly unhappy she'd snuck up behind him.

In the end, Desdemona did not have a chance to dither. Her musing was interrupted when her potential prey turned to face her. His eyes, like hers, were a soft but bright pink, and combined with his ghostly appearance, the tahtll was quite a stunning-looking individual. The nantlil smiled shyly, her fangs peaking out over her lip. She could spend a little time with him, then be on her way to find another to sip from. But that smile of hers faltered somewhat when she saw the scowl marring that lovely face. His voice was as cold as the upper atmosphere, and Desdemona felt her ears flicker back.
Truth be told, she had had but rare occasion to meet members of the other tribes. Most often when she went to feed, she fed from Light Tribers who willingly offered their blood to their sister from under the mountain. She realized, with sinking heart, that an Earth Triber would be something else entirely. What did she know about Earth Tribe? Who was their magus, and where their capital? She knew the answers to neither of these questions, and that surely meant that he knew nothing of her. Which meant that on top of feeding from someone of a new tribe, she might have to explain things...
"I am Desdemona," she said softly. Her tail, unbidden, curled around her paws, with the marking like a tragic face pointing right-side up. Her wings twitched nervously. Where to begin? "I am from Castrum de Drac, gentle traveler. I mean you no harm. I wish only to drink of you. Nothing to drain you nor rob you of strength--just enough to sustain me for a night." There. That should cover everything he needed to know. There was still one question unresolved. "Great sir, may I ask of you your name?"

It suddenly seemed eerie as he waited for whoever it was to emerge from the shadows. The form slipped out of the darkness revealing a both bright and dark balam of the mysterious dark tribe. What an odd one she was. She seemed nervous almost. Very unlike what he'd heard very... he wasn't sure. She wasn't exactly what he was expecting.
But perhaps that was a good thing. She was surprisingly polite too, she really was odd. Did one who had superior skill in the dark not simply take what they wanted? Pink orbs gazed at her long canines. Longer than his certainly. Tch, it didn't really matter either way.
"My name is Enki odd one," he spoke coolly. She was from the main dark tribe city too. He did wonder how they managed to keep such a population of dark balam fed.
"You may feed of me." his tone was still cold as though it didn't matter. If she needed it he was not going to cause this strange one's starvation. It wouldn't sit well on his conscience.
