(( Anyone who wants to join, well, feel free to join. P: ))

It was a wonderful moderately temperate day, with the suns warm rays beating down upon the woodland landscape, surely brightening the day of any passing being. It was semi-late in the morning, and having just finished with breakfast, a rather small, at least for her age, odd looking girl pranced along, jumping from tree root to tree root as she hummed a soft song. She was all alone today, since her normal 'babysitter' Aja had had other things he had to complete, she had no one to play with. So it was off to try and find something to do, but so far, she had found nothing particularly of interest.

A little dirt here, a brush pile there, it was all the same as the day before. And even as she wandered onward deeper and deeper into the forest and even into slightly unfamiliar territory Sahra still found nothing of particular interest. "Hrm, mrr, ruh." Making random noises, she bounced along a fallen branch, head shifting upward, and eyes gazing almost longingly at the branches of a rather large tree. She wanted to climb! It was as simple as that, but should she? Would it even be fun without Ajy to screw around with up high in the tree tops in his long python form? Or his famous Osprey form, soaring along side of her as she leapt messily and carelessly from branch to branch; it was a wonder why she hadn't fallen yet. But nope, she took no notice of that fact, and decided that she would indeed climb upward!

Maybe she could find something delectably interesting up there? After all, this was a new tree, a whole new friend! Maybe it would be nice to her and show her something cool? Oh how she hoped! It took her a few minutes to get a hold of the first branch, since it was rather high, she could only just nearly grab it, but she managed, and pulled herself up into the branches of the oak. Oh! Wasn't this thrilling, well, not at the moment, but it would be. She couldn't wait to get to the tip top to see what she could...see! She hoped carefully from one branch to the next, taking her time, she wanted to be accurate, yes, very much so, or else she'd fall!

Up, up, and up some more, Sahra twisted and turned, weaving herself up between and around different branches of various shapes and sizes, she screeched happily as she looked out amongst the tree tops. Oh how exciting this was! She had never gone this high before, probably because Ajy had never let her, but now that she was on her own she could go as high and she wanted! She loved that, just the fact that she had the chance to be independent and do what she wanted. There was no adult there to tell her what to do, so she was free! As free as the hawk that swooped down into the nearby river to catch a fish. The sight made her cringe, the sight of the water that is, not the hawk, for it was just plain amazing!

"Oh, I wonder." She dug her claws deep into the soft bark of the upper portion of the tree, she was about three-fourths way up the tree, being at a stable part of the tree, and she felt at ease. But then it happened, something from below made the birds around her stir. "What? I wonder what that was?" She tilted her head in wonder, looking downward, but soon she would have wished she hadn't. A loud noise shot to her ears, and made her jump so high, that she nearly fell! "WAHHHH!" She screeched at the top of her lungs, falling a few branches length downward, she caught onto one just in time, for there where no more branches below her! And she was about ten to fifteen feet off the ground, so, she couldn't just simply drop to the ground.

Squirming about, trying to dig her clawed toes into the branch to push herself up, she just couldn't! But she did look rather funny, hands and arms wrapped around the somewhat thin branch, fingers dug part way in, and feet flailing all about. But what should she do!? She really didn't know, because no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get back up!

She kept on trying, but nothing worked! Countless times she tried to twist herself around to get a foot hold on the trunk of the tree, or she tried to hook one toe, yes just one, on the branch, but for some reason she just couldn't manage. And she was growing tired quickly, she had tired quickly from being a little overly frantic, and all that flailing didn't really help a lot at all. She knew she could hold on for a while longer, so that wasn't too much of a problem, the real question was how was she going to get back up into the tree? Maybe this was why Aja didn't like climbing so high, he was a bad climber and often fell, yeah that must it. Oh how she wished he was here, so she wouldn't have to worry, but, he wasn't, so she'd have to solve this on her own!

But how often was it that a lady in distress saved herself? Not very often, but then again, she wasn't a lady, she was a girl! Not that that made a lot of difference in reality. Actually it made things worse, but in her mind it was a significant factor. But she still had the major problem folded out before her; she had no real possible way of getting back up without a little bit of help. Sah had noticed her adopted sister below her, the flying weirdo, yep, G-Bird. But she knew very well that she couldn't climb well, and most definitely not that high. And flying wasn't really an option, so that wasn't really much help. What now? Maybe she could-- no, she already attempted that. Oh what about-- no not that either, that was impossible! Or this could work. "GAAAAH." She let out a long howl, out of frustration, of course.

Watching Gabby's actions from high above, Sahra looked on curiously; she wondered what exactly she could have in mind? But as her gaze followed the brightly coloured bird, she realized that her plan was just another silly thought! But that was okay, Sah wouldn't say anything, she'd just play along for now, and hope she could finally manage with one of her many tries to swing one leg, just one part way around the branch so she could rest. "Uh G-Bird..." She began, trying to think of a way to say what she needed to, "That probably isn't a very...safe solution." That'd just have to do, because it was all she could think of!

But after many minutes, or what more seemed like hours to Sahra, she managed to swing part of her leg up over the branch. What a relief! Although it didn't really mean she was out of trouble completely, because she knew this didn't change much, except for the fact that she now had a better grip, and she could rest her legs! Shifting and twisting around, Sah sprawled herself out on the branch the best she could. Arms still grasping the branch firmly, and claws still deep in the bark, she didn't let go. But who can blame her? Any normal person wouldn't just let go! That could lead to horrible things! "G-Bird," She cocked her head to the side, peering back down at her sister, "Ya' doin' alright down there?"

The beautiful day had crept into all the corners of the Millners' apartment, and lured Anoki outside early in the morning. Sadly, Raven wasn't as easily tempted by the clear blue sky, touched with a smattering of small white puffy clouds. It had been business as usual, until finally the lady of the house locked herself in her study, leaving Anoki free to play inside... or sneak out.

It was with some apprehension that he did the latter. There was a small paper bag clutched in his one fist, containing a couple of apples and some crackers, in case he got lost. Not that he planned to get lost. But the treasure hunt had taught him a few things, and one of them was to be prepared. This time if he got lost he would have food. And maybe he could even leave a trail of breadcrumbs, or rather crackercrumbs, like in Hansel and Gretel.

However, it was apparent soon enough that he did not get lost. Or at least, if he did, that he wasn't lost alone. There was noise coming from up ahead, and once he got closer he could spot a person wearing lots of pink. Nervous but curious, Anoki stayed on path. He was getting tired, and had been planning on stopping soon, so maybe whoever it was would join him for an apple. Still, he did not say anything just yet.

Hanging, hanging, hanging, would it ever end? All this hanging around really had Sahra, well, hung up. But there were a few nice aspects to being, even though she hated admitting it, slightly, yes just slightly, stuck. It was nice and high up, and she could see out for a ways now! And best of all she was lying down, too, so it was somewhat more comfortable. But she wanted to go higher! To see more, she just wanted to know what was out beyond their current location, because maybe then they could go find something new and exciting, like making a discovery! But until she got off of this flimsy branch, she couldn't go anywhere.

Something below was stirring, and it caught her attention quite quickly. It seemed that something was coming their way? Or better said Gabby's way; should she warn her? Could it possibly be a threat to them? Maybe not? She couldn't be to sure, and she knew she wasn't being too cautious. After all it didn't matter for her, she was way up in a tree, but Gabby, G-Bird, and she was down on the ground! "Uhh..." She shouted aloud, squinting at the sight of movement. "Incoming subject?"

Most people came to the forest with the intention of climbing trees. Indigo came with the intention to fall out of trees, which was rapidly becoming her favorite pastime. She hadn't yet realized that this wasn't completely normal behavior--or that most people who fell out of trees didn't survive as unscathed as she did!

Afternoon found the velvet worm rustling through the leaves that coated the forest floor and weaving in and out of shafts of light that slipped between the trees. She was looking for the PERFECT tree--a really nice and tall one, with a good pile of leaves at the bottom, and no nasty sharp sticks in it. So far she'd found a couple and marked them with little piles of rocks (as she'd read explorers did to mark the way for those who came after them), but none of them were exactly perfect. That was okay, though; there was still a lot of daylight left, and the forest was really pretty! The leaves smelled nice, the sun was warm, the birds were chirping, the kids were screaming...

Screaming? Indigo's antennae perked up as a distant and somehow familiar "auuuugh!" echoed through the forest. "Oh-oh," she said under her breath, turning in the direction of the yell. Maybe someone was in danger? Maybe one of the dragons that had hatched lately had gotten out! What would she do if they had? ...More importantly, who was doing all that talking? Indigo squinted through the trees, eyes not quite sharp enough for her to pick out more than a multicolored blur talking to a less-colorful blur in a tree. (Despite what Mom said, she DIDN'T need glasses, nope. She just needed to learn how to squint better.)

She took off at a shuffle through the trees, converging without knowing it on the path Anoki was taking. Man, whoever that colorful blur was, she sure was wearing a lot of pink!

Now all of a sudden people where arriving out of nowhere! It was so weird, how did they find them? And better yet who where they? Sahra tilted her head; eyes looking from person to person. What exacting was going on down there? "Hello!?" She screeched aloud, trying to make sure that she would be heard. Something was rather familiar about one of them, but she couldn't quite remember what. But wait, climb? Why would they want to do that? She didn't need any help! "Dun worry about me G-Bird. I'll be fine!" She wasn't really sure if she could make it off on her own or not, but, it was worth a try, wasn't it?

She twisted her head around, pale orange hair swinging about as she did, her shirt was now as torn up as ever, which was rather different from her usual stain it from tip to end with black mud routine. But she put her clothing issues aside for the time being, and attempted to sit up on the branch, claws still dug into the branch, of course. "G-Bird?" She called out, "What's going on, eh?"

Wow. All of a sudden there was too much going on, and it made Anoki a little dizzy. The pink person was... well, loud, but saying something about trees? He looked up at the nearest one, and yelped. There was someone up there!

"H-hello," he responded. First things first, he was taught to be polite when greeted. Then he tried to process the other information. They needed someone to climb? That made sense. If he could get up there, then he could help the spotty girl down. But he wasn't allowed in trees, and even if he was he'd have a hard time getting up one with the cast. Anoki's face fell, but he wasn't giving up yet. Maybe there was another solution.

His brain finally took in the rest of what the pink girl said. One of you... did that mean there were people he wasn't looking at? Nervously, Anoki looked behind him, and broke out into a grin. "I-indi!"

Feeling confused and growing slightly dazed, Sahra yawned, an overriding feeling of boredom hitting her at just that very second. She had absolutely no idea what was going on below her! For all she knew they could have been eaten by a bear or something, not that that would happen, but it was a phrase of speech, right? At least she thought so, but she didn't really care to find out for herself. Swinging her feet back and forth, she hummed a tune, obviously not paying attention to anything that Gabby was saying to her, she was looking at her though, watching her lips move. Her eyes followed the small form until she was right below her, ears twitching contently; she quickly saw that she had a gap of opportunity! Gabby wasn't paying any attention to her at the moment, so...she grabbed a loose twig off of her branch, and dropped it down on the birds head. Of course it was thin, and probably weighed less than an ounce, so she would be lucky if her odd little sister even felt it at all.

But even with this being slightly amusing, something else was stirring around her, and it had taken her a while to realize it. There, in front of her, sat a blue jay. "Huh? Hey...what're you doin' on here?" She asked it curiously, as if expecting it to answer back. She stared at the little bird, grinning; it was a rather odd little experience, since she had never been this close to a bird of this type before. But really, what was it doing? Maybe it was hunting for some food? Scavenging for nest material? Or maybe..."Ouch!" She blinked, looking up but not seeing anything, an odd little pinch of pain had hit the side of her head. What was it? It felt almost like something had..."Ouch! Stop'et!" She squirmed, trying very hard not to let go out of habit and swat at what ever was picking on her, she opened one eye, and looked back down at the branch. The bird was still there, but now there was...two!? Could birds multiply that fast!? SWOOP. One blue jay darted from the branch and flung itself at her head. It was then that she saw a nest, on the very end of the branch, with two small chicks inside it. "OH. I am sorry!" She squeaked, attempting to back up on the branch.
