Chel tried to be good. She really did. She stayed off it for a few days, but each time she visited Ripley in the infirmary her anger grew. It grew until the point where she knew she'd have to do something with it.
Maybe she was also still a bit tinged from the way he treated her that Friday night.
Either way, she had a fist and it was going to land in Finn's face one way or another. She debated going to Jack and asking for guidance on the issue, but she knew he would side with Finn. He had to be ignored right now.
But she at least knew she couldn't do it out in the open. The bracelet on her wrist was just itching to explode at the first sound of treason, and she assumed that kicking another hunter's a** would set off a few alarm bells in Caelius' office. So instead she had another plan.xseussi Text to Finnigan: r u up for a spar? @ traihihg grounds now

Finn spent a lot of time in the infirmary, whenever he could in fact, but negotiations with Ripley often ended in him leaving for an hour or two at a time to give the other man a break. Either that or Ripley managed to get him kicked out for being a nuisance. It got more and more difficult to be a pain in the death intermediates a** the better and more alert he became (definitely easier when he'd been on heavy painkillers and too high to stop him). So when the text came, he had just been stopping by his own room, planning on spending some time catching up on reading and studying. He eyed the the text for a moment, at first unsure of what his answer should be. He hadn't been on the training field in days, his usual routine shaken up by recent events. Eventually he made a decision, a return text tapped out even as he shut the book on his lap. He had no idea that Chel held any ill will towards him at the moment, though he knew he hadn't really been the best of friends towards her lately (a fact that he wasn't all that concerned about either, however). chiickadee text to Chel: Sure. Be there in a few It was a little while later, changed into a t-shirt and jeans with a few worn holes, before Finn arrived. He appeared his usual self, expression cold and distant. It took him some time to pick out Chelsea, as usual his instincts seeking out vibrant pink instead of brown, but eventually he spotted her and approached. "Hey." He greeted, "Still working with those daggers?" He asked, simply assuming she was looking to practice with them more. Why else would she ask him for a spar when she never had before?

"Yup," she replied shortly. "And I oughta cut you down where ya stand now." She pulled out one of the daggers from her belt, twising it before pulling out the other one. Only a few weeks hadn't made her much better at using them, but she figured she was good enough to take down Finn. "But we can talk about that later. Fer now let's dance, playboy." One of many loving nicknames for Finn.

Her words, while surprising, didn't have much effect on the man who graced her with a smirk and a small scoff for her efforts. "Somebody piss in your gatorade, sweetheart?" He asked, nonchalant as could be as he summoned his own weapon in a flash of magenta that ebbed away to reveal his very scythe-like lance. Talk about what? He had no idea, but figured she was just having a b***h moment because he hadn't been the most attentive friend lately. Spinning the weapon up and into a two handed grip with a couple flicks of his wrist, he stood at the ready. "Alright, sugar tits, show me your moves."

Chel took a more ready stance and a deep breath. Honestly she was a bit unsure of herself. Ever since getting the bracelet she had felt weaker somehow. Less alert, less reflexive.
Most likely this would end badly for her, but it didn't mean she was going to stop. She had already stirred too much sediment to lay it back down.
"Not my gatorade," she grumbled, lurching forward to strike.

Finn swung his lance around while sidestepping, effectively keeping himself from being hit by her daggers but also aiming to strike his lance down against one of her wrists if he could manage. "Ok, someone s**t on your waffles than?" HP: 50 Damage:3 Charge:1/3

Chel slipped underneath the swing of his pole and pivoted her foot in an attempt to trip him. Just because she had lost her bow didn't mean she had forgotten her moves completely. They were just a little rusty.
"Not mine," she clarified. "Ripley's."

She was a slippery one, a quicker target than he had anticipated, and her foot connected with the side of his lower leg hard enough to topple him, but in an effort to save himself, he jabbed the butt end of his lance into the ground behind him and held on, using the weapon to haul himself quickly back up straight, left hand tightening on the weapon and yanking it back out of the ground before he turned his body, slashing towards her midsection with the scythe-like blade. He than barked out a laugh, his teeth flashing in a cold and unfriendly grin, as her words clicked together with her previous attitude upon his arrival, and her current obvious annoyance. "You his little watch b***h now? Thought you only worked for Jack....though, let's face it, you can barely even look after yourself, let alone other people." The usual cold, mocking, care free tone. Chel grunted as the scythe slammed into her, but she used his momentum against him. She followed the swing and pulled the lance towards her, where a dagger waited to impale him. "I need to know why you're harassing him," she said. "If there ain't a reason you're gonna have hell to pay." She didn't rise to her taunts about Jack or her own health. Mostly because they were true and she didn't have words to face them. HP: 42/50 DMG: 6

The yank against his lance caught him off guard enough that he easily stumbled forward, her dagger digging painfully into his abdomen, enough to elicit a hiss from the moon intermediate before he was able to jerk away, yanking his weapon back with him. "Well darling, you see, the thing is..." His voice trailed off, and he sounded for all the world like he might actually explain, one hand rubbing at his mid section as he backed off several paces and watched her carefully, before his weapon was back in a two handed grip with fingers wrapped around tight enough to turn his knuckles white. "That is absolutely none of your ******** business." And then he charged forward, swinging first diagonally and up before arcing back down in the same fashion only on her opposite side, as if attempting to carve her with a giant "X". "You made it my business," Chel retorted, "When you hurt Ripley." Finn was her friend, but Ripley was also her friend- and quite frankly, Ripley had been a better friend lately. The hopeless heroic in Chel told her that someone needed to stand up to Finn, and the idiotic lionheart in her told her that it had to be her.
In a way, she wanted to tack on "and me" to the end of her sentence.
< You should not retaliate so quickly, I cannot maintain your safety. >
Then the scars better look ********' cool.
The runic daggers provided her a scant means of defense, but they were nowhere near comparable to Tenebrae when it came to restorative powers. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she was well aware that she was losing this fight. She wouldn't give Finn the satisfaction of surrender. "Now tell me."

"Well sunshine, sounds to me like you've gotten your story all wrong, because I haven't hurt Ripley." Not physically, at least. A little sleep deprivation might be mentally trying, but he highly doubted it was painful, even if it did slow his healing process down. She caught him with a counter that grazed against his arm, and in retaliation he jabbed his lance towards her stomach while backing off, before swinging it up, and back down hard towards one of her shoulders. "No." He smirked. "Because there's nothing to tell you. Now how about you <******** off, and drop it, before you piss me off." He continued to smile pleasantly, like this were all very amusing to him. And in many ways, it was, but in a few others it was mostly just plain irritating. HP: 34 Damage: 14 Charge: 3/3

Finn either knew or had ridiculous luck hitting the shoulder that had gone bad during her fight with Astra. The pain staggered throughout her body and she crumpled, hitting the ground. The unfortunate part of an immature battle fueled by rage was that she didn't really have any part of her original strength back.
"This get you off?" she asked, "Breakin' everything that even kinda likes you?"

It was just luck, plain and simple. While he might have been privy to some hunters past injuries by reading up on infirmary files, he honestly had not happened to even glance at Chel's information at any point, not even out of idle curiosity. When she crumpled to the ground, his gaze was steady, and as emotionless as always, his lance held poised as if he might jab at her while she was down. But instead, he took a step back, and regarded her for a moment with a slight tilt of his head. Her question didn't appear to bother him in anyway, though after a moment, he smirked. "No. They don't have to like me in the slightest for me to enjoy it." He lowered his weapon, enough to appear less threatening than before, at least. He wouldn't lie to her about how it thrilled him to cause others grief and pain, how he did it, sometimes, just out of sheer amusement. However, in this case at least, he thought to make a distinction. "For the record, sweet cheeks, you called me out, not the other way around. Don't expect any ******** pity from me for your bad decisions." And that included ones made before today, as he was sure she had made plenty. "Are we finished here?" HP: 34 Damage: n/a Charge: 3/3

Chel missed Tenebrae. She missed Tenebrae so much. She could feel the curve of her grip in her fist, she could hear the sizzling sound of an arrow forming and shooting right through Finn's oblong, assymmetrical, ******** hideous head.
But instead all she had was a dagger to stag him in the shin with her good arm. "Not even close to done. I'll drag myself to the infirmary if I got to."
She pulled the dagger down and weakly attempted to get back on her feet. "You ever hear the story about the wounded fox?" she asked him.
