The crisp air was more quieter, more nerve wracking then she had thought before.
She felt on the cusp of revelation, or on the cliff before the plunge. Something shifting inside her, something moving and turning and settling, only to unsettle again and move and shift and wait. Lurking just under her skin.
Her attack on Kerberos had pained her, ruined her and had her huddled in her room wondering if she was letting the senshi life get too far, if she had no control over the way she was becoming.
She desperately wanted to be the woman in her dreams, calm and collected and weathered. But the more it was pressed, the more it seemed to fade away and she was left with herself now. Just Mintaka.
She summoned a paper crane, let it drift from the rooftop. She summoned another. She summoned three. All of them dropped and left for the wind to carry.

Tantalus deeply enjoyed wandering the city, now that he felt like he could. Those five years of being blind, of living under the Negaverse's iron grip, of fearing every shadow and every officer's aura, felt as real to him as the world now.
The world he could see. It shouldn't have felt like such a blessing, because he had definitely always been able to -- and yet he could feel the agony of Lellouch taking his eyes as clearly as if it had happened. He worried, every time he woke up, that he would open his eyes and find more darkness. It hadn't happened yet.
He wandered under a building, and to his surprise, something fell into his hands.
A paper crane.
A rush of warm feeling bubbled up inside him, and he looked up at the roof. What were the odds...? Well, there was only one way to find out. He found a fire escape, a way up, and got himself to the roof. He didn't recognize the Order Senshi standing there, but that didn't mean anything - he'd never seen her, after all.
"Mintaka?" He asked, hopefully.

At first, her thoughts kept her from realizing the aura. It wasn't hard to recognize that it was some from the chaos orientated, but she was in the state that if they wanted something, they'd make themselves known.
The cranes would keep falling, even as he joined her, and was joined by stars and smaller flowers.
When Tantalus spoke, her head turned slowly, blinking bright blue eyes at the temptation dark senshi.
Then they tilted, as if she was on the verge of remembering something. the longer she stared the wider her eyes got and then she was pushing herself up and launching herself at the man.
"You can see!" She breathed out, "You're okay! I should've known, I should've looked." She reached up and cupped his face, looking at his eyes, boring into them. "you're okay...aren't you Tantalus..."

The first thing Tantalus noticed was that she looked so terribly sad. Had the Mintaka of the future looked like that? He didn't - could 't - know, no matter how much he wished he could. Lellouch had stolen that from him.
But she knew his face, and that was enough to confirm that he was right, this was the Senshi of Origami, Chariklo and Amytis's dear friend - and his, too. He pulls her in for a welcoming hug, unable to stop smiling like an idiot. It was strange to think how many people dear to him were Order, but then, he had never really seen Order as enemies. Unenlightened, perhaps, but never enemies, except for a specific few.
"I can see," he confirmed, "which is an incredible blessing, because I can finally properly appreciate how lovely you are." Probably not the time, but alas. "I'm alright. So is Damocles. Are you?"

The answer, was sometimes. The future was mostly a sad time. It was a good and happy but very tragically sad at times. Such as was life. Such as life was now.
His hug was warm, and she felt the famalier ease of friendship she shared once upon a time. It was like they had never left her, and she was meeting them all over again for the first time.
"I don't remember you being this devilishly handsome. Just like a spanish prince." She tugged at his clothes a little and blushed at his comment. "Come now Tantalus, I am nothing special yet." She laughed, "I am still growing into my own." Her laughter fell and she couldn't help the worry a little. "Damocles too? Is it odd? I can remember you both so clearly, and the twins and Chari and Amy and being so close. And yet here we are, meeting for the first time...this time?" His question made her blink and she rubbed her forehead. "It's difficult to say. Things are different here, and it feels like I am still stuck there. I am just...troubled over feelings and things I don't know what to do with..."

Tantalus laughed a little. "I'm always devilishly handsome," he said, which in his opinion was perfectly true. "You just missed it, somehow."
He stepped back from the hug, and instead went to take her hands. He was a naturally physically affectionate person, anyway, and so it came easily to touch, even if he was definitely appreciating with his eyes too. "I promise, my dear, you are a very, very special lady. No one could have become the person you were without a strong foundation." It seemed so fundamental.
"It's so strange. I feel like I've known you forever, and yet - we haven't met before." His smile finally fell, and he closed his eyes and let out a breath. "I keep glancing over my shoulder," he admitted, "and...sometimes I wake up and am surprised I can see, because I shouldn't be able to. I keep expecting to be able to step through a mirror into the camp, and hear the children laughing and all the cacophony of that place, but I doubt there are mirrors out in the woods with no one to go there."

"Nonsense, I think you have more of a charm. My heart flutters a little." She chuckled again, while miming the motion of patting her heart. Fluttering her eyelash even. It was sort of improper of a lady but she didn't mind, It was for some reason, just how she felt with Tantalus.
"The compliments are well, WELL overdue my handsome man, and very much appreciated." She chuckled, for so long.
"We could look out in the woods." She paused, then her eyes widened. "My home, the refugee..." She squeezed his hands, "The place I kept all the ones who wanted to not fight, it wasn't far from the camp...I wonder how it would look here."

"Oh, wonderful, I was a little worried I'd lost my touch," Tantalus said, and he thought for a moment about taking her hand and kissing it, but perhaps that might be pushing his luck.
"My darling lady, I am merely glad I can finally appreciate you enough to give them." It was hard to think of it, how many people he knew by voice and touch but not by sight.
He swallowed and glanced out in the general direction of where the forest would be, where the camp would be. "I would like to see it. It won't be the same - nowhere near, I suspect - but I never...saw..."

Mintaka's hand tightened around Tantalus's and she gave him a comforting, hopefully reassuring smile.
"I will protect you, and if you get uncomfortable, we can leave immediately!" She breathed out, "I just...I'd like to remember...a little more. For a little longer."
She paused, "It's a second chance for us? Isn't it?"

Tantalus nodded. "Just a short look around, it certainly can't hurt," he acknowledged. "Perhaps we can meet out there, sometime soon? Do a bit of exploring - see what is and isn't there."
If he could find where the tents were, where he had sat with Dionysia and played guitar, where the hospital had been. And going there with Mintaka would feel...safer, in a way. He would have someone to lean on if it got too bad.
"Would you be free two nights from now, perhaps? Around midnight?"

"I would...yes I would hope it wouldn't hurt to look. But we might not be the only ones looking, and well..." She paused, "No matter what, I would protect you Tantalus. I will not let your future come to be." She would never let something happen to the temptation dark senshi. Just as she would never let anything happen to Amytis or Chariklo. That was the way it was to be.
That was where her allegiance would be.
"Two nights from now, I will be here. I can do that, no matter what." Mintaka nodded, "I'll bring some snacks, maybe a picnic, turn this into a fun little trip?" She laughed, "Will you bring him?" She paused, "Will you both come?"

Tantalus nodded. "I'm sure we'll be quite safe," he said. "And of course I'll bring Damocles. He gets antsy enough when I go out alone, imagine if I told him I was going on a picnic to a secluded bit of woods with a beautiful woman," he laughed, and it was obvious he was joking - he couldn't actually recall Lance ever getting seriously jealous.
"We'll meet you then, Mintaka." It would be good for all of them, he was sure of that. Or at least, he hoped so.
