Uaithne had escaped the house he shared with the Bulbasaur girl he called sister. Her paranoia was becoming unbearable to be around. She was insistent something bad was going to happen soon but it had been weeks and nothing. He needed out and so when she was still sleeping did just that. He made his escape for the day. His homemade bag of tools slung over his shoulder he snuck out, and once he was a fair distance away let out a whoop of delight and took off at a run enjoying the brisk morning air blowing in his face. He needed the time out in the sun and air. Not only because he hated being cooped up but it was a way he got nourishment and while food was nice so was the sun and he'd gotten precious little of it lately. Finally though he was at his work shop as he called it, a small cave that only went in maybe six or so feet that he kept a woven mat of leaves over when he wasn't there and stepped in tools dropped down. "Now...to go looking and see what I can find to work on.!" he rubbed his hands together in expectation and dropped the leafy covering back down before he was off and running again to the area he could usually find scraps of metal and other things to work with.

Radar, the little Noibat girl, and her teacher/former trainer, Dr. Miyamoto were out gathering plant samples for the lab. They'd been studying the effects of the weird weather patterns that'd happened not to long ago on the local vegetation. It seemed some areas had fared better than others, but the weather pattern had been inconsistent and was leaving feet of one acre virtually untouched... whereas other locations had been completely decimated.
They'd currently split up, faster to gather what they needed. It was safe enough, at least in this part of the forest. And with all the weird natural occurrences, many of the Pokemon that lived in the area didn't want to cause trouble. Fine by Radar, she didn't like to fight when she'd been strictly Pokemon; now that she was a Poke-human, she liked it even less. Avoiding it was a top priority.
She'd wandered into an area that looked like part dumping ground. The ground was littered with broken things; toys, appliances, you name it. Still, there was evidence of the recent change and enough local flora to justify studying in the area. So, she shrugged, readjusted her pencil and notebook in hand and began jotting a few notes about her location and what species were around. It was just to get started, she do more in-depth study on each species when her general notes were done.

Uaithne was in his element, dragging things out of the pile of broken bits and things and piling them up in two distinct piles 'Useful, and possibly useful' he didn't outright say no to anything, never knew when something would have some sort of future unknown use. Though he had quite a pile started up to take back to his work shop. He had plenty of ideas bubbling around in his head at the moment and he needed the materials to work with!
As he worked he saw something unusual. He saw someone else he never saw anyone else! Skirting around his treasures he rounded around things to get a better look at who was standing there, and blinked in curiosity. He'd definitely never seen anyone like her before!
"ACH! Clear off girlie!" the annoyed words rang out suddenly, and he clapped a hand over his mouth wondering just why he was chasing her off....and why he cared at all even a little about her actually staying "Yer in a dangerous area, and yeh could get hurt!"
Well there was a lot of precariously placed items and such that could topple, sharp broken objects. ....why did he care if she was safe or not? He bristled (internally) a moment at this.

The large ears atop Radar's head twitched at the shouting and bolted upright after being bent over a flower, not normally native to the area. She clutched her pencil and notebook tightly and spun around to the direction the voice had come from. Despite her excellent hearing, it was common for her to lose herself in study, making it virtually impossible to get her attention. She scanned the area, but with her poor sight (even after she readjusted her glasses from the jump), she couldn't see anyone.
"S-s-sorry," she squeaked, not meaning for her voice to crack. They'd startled her, though! And she'd been so engrained in what she was doing. "I-I'll be fine.... just, um, just collecting some data, and I'll... I'll be off after that." Who was this person? Had she accidently wandered on to someone's property? She didn't think anyone had owned this land, not according to the maps they had at home. Perhaps it was recently purchased? Oh dear, she thought, please let them be of the forgiving persuasion.

Uaithne felt bad for spooking the girl, and he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, a wry smile on his face. "I dinnae mean to scare ya." well he had but not to the point the girl was stuttering and all! "Data?" simple curiosity in his voice as he made his way closer to the girl, looking at what she was studying. "Tha's a flower iffin ya dinnae know." "It's dangerous here girly, this is a scrap heap and things can shift and topple over ya iffin you're not careful. Dinnae anyone ever teach you ta be mindful of things around you?" he hand his hands on his hips as he scolded her a bit, more out of concern now than anger. What if things had shifted and slid and buried her? Who would have known?

Radar gasped slightly as the speaker came into view. He was a rugged little Pokemon human, like herself, but a different species; Skiddo if she were to guess. Though the sight of the anthropomorphic Pokemon were becoming more and more common, Radar was used to seeing them in cities, with people, not out in the wild like this.
"I-I know it's a flower!" she huffed, scrunching her little nose. "I'm collecting data on what flora and fauna have been displaced by the recent geological abnormalities." She almost stuck her tongue out at the end of her sentence, but deemed it too childish and thus satisfied herself with a slightly smug expression.
"And I am perfectly aware of my surroundings," she lied and stated very matter-of-factly. She didn't care to be scolded by this boy, whomever he was.
"I-is this your land?" she caught herself thinking that she was trespassing again and her nervous stutter came back. All of her bravado faltered, in fact, as she slumped and nearly cowered at the thought that she could be carted off by the police if he just said the word. "I-I... um.. sorry if I'm in-intruding..." she trailed off into a whisper and brought the notebook in front of her face, her eyes just peering over the side.

"I 'ave no idea whatchya jes' said girly. T'many big words I ain't ne'vr heard." well he could be honest about it at least. He was still staring at her a little, but this time as if he couldn't quite figure out what to make of her, and her fancy words. "Sure yeh were girly. Tha's why ah was able to stand here watching yeh, and yeh dinnae hear meh for the time I was till I said somethin." "My land? Nah girl, this is free land. Humans are just disgustin' things and dump things here. But ah find good use for a lot of it. I build. So their trash takes on new life. Yeh doan need ta be afraid of me yeh know. Ah won't hurt yeh, ah promise."

"Not all humans are disgusting," Radar huffed under her breath as she glared, but looked away from Uaithne, still hiding mostly behind her notebook. The promise of not being hurt eased her tension slightly. "Well, if it's not your land, then I'll continue my work." She turned back to the flower she'd been jotting notes down about, but kept her ears attuned to Uaithne. "M-my name's Radar, by the way. Sssso, you can stop calling me 'girly.'" there was still a little tremor in her voice. "W-what's your name?"

"Yeh're tellin meh, that this isn't disgusting girleh?" he waved a hand at the junk heap of crap people had left there. The question on his name made him grin some. "Yeh cannae begin tah pronounce it Radar." he was purposely making his accent thicker. "Uaithne." also said in that thick accent, a broader grin on his face. "Yeh doan need to be lookin so scared a meh. Realleh now." he rolled his eyes some.

"I didn't say that the garbage wasn't disgusting. I just stated that not all humans were disgusting." Her tone turned a little haughty at this point, "In fact, some humans are actually trying to fix this sort of thing!" The "better than thou" attitude that Uaithne was taking with her was beginning to override her apprehension at this point. If there was one thing she hates, it was people that thought they were better than her. Therefore when he provided his name, she listened very carefully, analyzing the sounds before turning towards him, notebook down to her side. "Uaithne, huh? Sounds a little Gaelic." Her ears and eyes were focused on him and whatever he did next. She waited.

"Wouldn'ae know Radar. Tha few ah've dealt with, are pretty dis-gosting if you ask meh." he rolled his eyes a little, as he stared at her belligerently. That she got his name right earned a surprised laugh from him, and he gave a grin. "Aye, Uaithne, you got it right, and on the first try. I'm impressed." That was something but it was true, he was impressed. He moved closer to her, looking curious. "So what're you doin' out here?"
