Ceirrys looked at his handiwork with a faint smile, not for how neat it was, but for what it signified. He had given the shelves above his new bed a cursory wipe and had arranged his small cache of personal belongings carefully-- true it wasn’t impressive, but the move meant he was a ‘rider now, even if he wouldn’t be riding for a while.

The list of weyrling roommate assignments had been posted fairly quickly, and he was pleased to see he wouldn’t be rooming with a complete stranger. Leszyth had wanted to hide beneath J’ric’s sleeping furs in an attempt to surprise him when he went to sit down, but Ceirrys had managed to convince him that a hatchling-sized lump would be rather suspicious. Disappointed that no better hiding places could be found, Leszyth resigned himself to lounging with Ceirrys on a sleeping fur he had used to make Leszyth’s sleep on the thrush-lined stone platform more comfortable, belly bulging from the meal he'd had after hatching. Ceirrys meanwhile absent-mindedly scratched Leszyth’s neck ridges, trying to let the fact that he was now bonded to a dragon sink in.

Imbeleth had been delighted to find that he'd bee rooming with Leszyth. The sneaky blue was the best brother! He was sure they'd have lot of fun playing tricks on people (and maybe he'd get Leszyth back for the Hatching).

J'ric was less excited about rooming with someone he didn't know all that much, but at least Imbeleth was happy, and he'd always have his dragon to talk to. He gathered his things from the Candidate barracks, which took longer than it had to because Imbeleth kept poking into things and asking questions, and getting in the way when he tried to pack things. But eventually he had everything together, and he managed to bring it all to his new home in the weyrling barracks.

When he got there, hauling a carrysack with most of his stuff and a small box with a few more, he found Ceirrys and Leszyth had already arrived and set up. "Um, hi," he said awkwardly. "I guess that's our side?" he asked, indicating the bed and stone couch that were not occupied.

Ceirrys gave a startled jerk as the door was opened, he had been lost in thought. Mine, is that all it will take to surprise you? You will be far too easy a target then, and I simply must surprise you enough so that you can no longer be surprised by other dragons and -- Enough Leszy, I was just lost in thought, I am not usually so easily surprised!

With this brief exchange concluded, Ceirrys turned his head towards J’ric and welcomed him with a smile, “Oh yeah, hope you don’t mind that I already moved-I figured what with Imboleth being a bronze, he’d need the larger platform soon enough. Do you need help with any of that?

Leszyth meanwhile was elated to see his clutchmate and rose without ceremony, shaking himself out to help keep him awake - he refused to let something as inconsequential as sleep to prevent him from plotting his bronze brother! Imboleth, do you not think it fine that we can conspire together now anytime we wish?!
