Time to get drunk...
Ben was in the backseat of his new 'family's car with his faded, black backpack in his lap. He stared out the window and watched as all the houses flew by as his new 'mom' told him about the house and the rules and everything. He just tuned her out, because, honestly, he didn't care to learn about all that bullshit. This just just going to be yet another failed attempt at finding Ben a new home. He knew the second they told him he was leaving that this was just going to end up like all the others. Ben will misbehave, the family will get mad, Ben will get mad, they end up fighting, Ben says something to offend them, and they take him back saying he's 'too much to handle'. He's seen it happen too many times. He was just a lost cause, and he knew it.
They pulled up into a driveway in front of a cream-colored house. It was two stories, and looked pretty nice. In fact, the whole neighborhood wasn't too shabby. All these people were probably stuck-up and snooty. He had encountered a couple of those families in his lifetime. He always thought that they were the most fun to mess with. He half-smiled to himself as he stepped out of the vehicle. He went to the trunk where his 'dad' was already pulling Ben's suitcase out. Ben kind of shoved him aside. "I got it," he said bitterly. As the older man raised his arms in defense and kind of took a step back, Ben yanked his suitcase out of the trunk and headed up to the front door where his 'mom' was unlocking the door. Well, this was it. His first day at a new 'home'.
