 White Death breathed in the cold air and the comforting scent of decaying leaves. Autumn. It was the best time of the year not because of warm drinks and scarves but because, for her, it meant the very few visitors to Phonyland and even fewer other ponies running about. Everyone else was inside canoodling with loved ones and she got to be alone.
It was bliss.cursedandwandering Haha, told ya it wold be short and weird. xDD

LOLLI qAq it's totally fine! Plus I'm on my iPod at the moment so my posts are currently going to be short until I can get on a laptop  Happy Endings was as bundled as a flutter can get with a large knit scarf wrapped multiple times around his neck. He had picked up his father's habit of reading as he flies and had one of his mother's books in his hooves. The title, visible through his transparent hoof, read Seduced by an Alicorn. The heroic stranger had managed to seduce his mistress while trying to clear his name of murder and Happy had his brow furrowed as he tried to figure out he could attain the same mystique.
Despite being only a foal, the colt was quite interested in the art of seduction, thanks to his mother of course. He needed to practice his techniques and with a sigh he snapped his book shut and began to look for a suitable filly. A short distance away was a white colored girl on her own, the perfect target.
"Excuse me, I can't help but introduce myself to such a beauty. My name is Happy Endings."

A groan escaped her lips as she turned to more fully address the new comer. Of course there'd be someone out that wanted to talk to her when she wanted most to be left alone. Of course he'd be weird and call her a-- Wait.
"Did you honestly just call me a beauty?"
The shock at being complimented at all was apparent on her face. She side-eyed him and tried to calculate what his angle was. She didn't have any signs of obvious wealth, they were both still children (or were even adult flutters that small) so he couldn't want that, and ... that was it. There was nothing else in it for him.
"What do you want?"cursedandwandering Haha, at least you have a reason! xDD A good reason at that!

LOLLI qAq xD it's fine if the posts are short. and now i'm gonna blame my post length on the fact that i am super tired.
"Of course i did. That is what you are and since i don't know your name i don't currently have anything else to refer to you as, milady." He bowed deeply, sweeping his hoof across his chest. Blue eyes peeked up at the girl, a bit disappointed in the incredulity of the girl. Clearly he needed to turn up the charm as this girl was going to be a challenge. Though this made for a good test of skill.
"Simply to get to know such a lovely looking girl better," he winked. "Might you care to tell me your name?"

Since she honestly wanted to know why anyone would address her in such a fashion she did her best to listen to his reason with a polite calm. By the time he was done, however, she'd lost most of her composure. This was the best thing she'd heard in weeks. A long, slow, laugh that had been threatening to creep from her throat erupted out of her once he was done. Death doubled over on the sidewalk and tried desperately to reign herself back in, but when she looked up at him tears of laughter spilled from her eyes as she gave into the giggle-fits once more.
"Oh," she managed to wheeze out. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. It's just ..."
Before she could finish the sentence she started to giggle again. She shook her head and looked down at the ground as she rode the humor out.
"It's just that you mean it, don't you?"
She chuckled again, but held out a hoof-- To shake or whatever was up to him.
"Thank you, Happy Endings. That was the best laugh I've had all day. My name is White Death. I s'pose Death is okay, too."cursedandwandering Okey dokey! Reply finally done! Thanks for being patient with me! <3

Happy Endings did not like being laughed at and the colt could do nothing but grit his teeth as the filly did so, eyes trained on the ground. He breathed deeply through his snout, as it was all he could do to keep his composure. The flutter needed to practice his skills with women, which meant he couldn't just give up and storm off now, even if he had some choice words for this girl.
The purple boy bit his tongue as the girl spoke, but it only brought some relief to his humiliation. At least she wasn't mocking him intentionally and her reaction seemed... Positive? That could be good.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss White Death." He looked up from his bow towards her face for a moment, before noticing the extended hoof. The colt leaned forward, knowing exactly what the hero of a romance novel would do in this situation, and planted his lips upon it. Hand shaking was for when you wanted to be friends, a kiss on the other hand was for showing romantic intentions.

She'd be lying if she said that it wasn't unexpected of him to kiss her hoof. Especially with the way he was talking to her. It still took a lot of effort on her part to not jerk away when his lips touched her, however. Phonies didn't touch her. Most phonies barely even spoke to her. Either they knew something she didn't or they'd already tried to speak to her before and she'd scared them off.
"You're only saying that because you've never met me before," she muttered under her breath.
Still she looked him the eyes and tried her best to smile. It was lopsided and kind of empty, but she was trying.
"It's nice to meet you as well, Happy Endings."
Her sentence trailed off a little and lilted into a sort-of question.

Looking up at her with his blue eyes to see her reaction and it didn't seem pleased. Straightening up the young phony cleared his throat. He looked away, trying to change his strategy. This girl was a tough nut to crack. It seemed like her self-esteem might not have been that great either. As he turned back to the filly a smile filled his face. It was almost like he was flirting with his sister given their names. There was no doubt that they probably shared similar interests in subjects of the morbid variety. He swallowed the idea, trying not to shudder at the thought that he was flirting with his sister.
"I'm sure if i were better acquainted i'd only be praising you more. It's quite obvious that you're beautiful, but i'm sure you're talented and intelligent too." He held a hoof up, gesturing to her mane. "I'm quite in admiration of your green locks."
His grin grew wider as the other phony attempted one herself, "Cute." With a chuckle he rubbed the back of his head with a hoof.

White Death watched him carefully when he looked away. His words said he found her beautiful but his body language suggested ... confusion? She couldn't stop herself from blushing when he called her smile cute, though. She looked down at the ground and tried to hide it. Why was he being so kind to her?
... The least she could do was return it, she supposed, and let him feel like he was succeeding in whatever his goal was. Hitting on her? Maybe.
"Oh, ah, thank you. My sister says it makes me look more like Death than my name suggests." She laughed a little with uncertainty.

Ah. So that's the kind of girl she was. Happy lit up like a match, eager to make the filly blush more. Maybe he could even get this girl to like him. It'd be the first, at least the first he knew of. Quite the accomplishment for him, at least in his opinion.
"Hmm..." The colt examined her hair a little longer and gave a small shake of his head. "I think it reminds me of a lush green forest, personally." He took a deep breath and sighed. "Though i think my sister would agree with yours. She would certainly adore you." He pulled back with a content look. "I'm sure not many people have trouble doing that though once they get to know you."
"Do you like that sort of thing? The deceased and rotting?" He tilted his head. Personally he didn't mind the stuff given his sister.

She nodded. She always thought her hair was like the shadows in a dark forest. Sometimes she liked to hid her face under it as best she could and let the light filter through it ... But, she'd never say that out loud. Instead she mumbled a quiet thanks.
White Death perked up immediately at the mention of death, though. Even though a twinkle suddenly lit her eye she shook her head at him emphatically.
"Not death and rotting so much as how everyphony deals with death. Different burial rites more specifically. Eulogies, cremation, funeral pyres, green burials ... that sort of thing."
Her breath was a little wispy towards the tail end of her explanation and she blushed again.
"You're quite the charmer, huh?"

She was warming to him. Happy's wings fluttered gleefully. He hadn't been so excited in a long time. He was actually doing it! He was flirting with a girl and she liked it! The thought nearly knocked the colt off his hooves. Wait until Fruit Punch heard about his success!
"Ah," the flutter gave a nod. "My sister sort of likes that stuff. I think she's more interested in how people died though rather than what happens after. My dad probably knows some interesting stuff about viking funerals and sacrificial deaths though."
With a small chuckle Happy looked away slyly. "Well, i'd certainly like to be, but i don't think i'm quite deserving of the title just yet." He blushed slightly and tossed his head. "You are the only phony to have ever said and likely even thought that after all."

His excitement was catching and White Death smiled, genuinely, back at him. It was still awkward and lopsided, but there was definitely more true emotion there. It was nice to feel like someone was interested in what she had to say. Someone other than her siblings.
"I'm not sure if my brother and sister are really into it like I am, but they play along. Your dad and sister sound really cool, though! Maybe you can introduce them to me some day?"
Wait -- Had that really come out of her mouth? Was she really actually doing that?
Minor panic filled her eyes and she shuffled her hooves.cursedandwandering Just about done maybe? What do you think?

This was great. Not only did it seem like he might have seduced her, but she wanted to meet his family too. what better way to prove he could do it. No longer could Penny mock him and his interests. He'd pulled it off!
"It really was a pleasure meeting you," the flutter gave a small nod before picking up the book he'd been reading before, having dropped it in distraction. "I'm sorry, but i've really got to bring this back to my parents shop before my mom notices it's missing." He pointed a hoof back in the direction he'd come from. "The shop is there. Come visit sometime."

Hold up, was he Penny's brother? She mentally shook the thought off, though it made sense. "I'd really like that," she smiled again and nodded. "Thank you for stopping to talk to me, it was surprisingly pleasant." With that she reached over, kissed him on the cheek, and then wandered back the way she'd come. She'd need to remember this- In doing something nice for him (letting him compliment her and putting down her walls) she'd actually felt good. She liked that.
