Quote: A dead whale has taken up space on the Bahari'mtoto beach - Something that the pride, obviously, is going to have a bit of an issue with. It has plenty of meat to it, though, but far more than present pride numbers can consume on their own! On the plus side... The Bahari have some neighbors, the Kizingo'zaa, to help them!
Welcome to the start of the Bahari'mtoto/Kizingo'zaa cross-pride mini-meta!
You're probably wondering how this is going to work! A dead whale, right? The short of it is that everybody between both prides(Cubs up to adults, lions and non-lions alike) will get to gorge themselves on whale meat! And being a sperm whale, there's a lot of it!
Now here's some ground rules!
Quote: - No picking fights, especially between prides! This is an event to foster friendship! The Kizingo'zaa have been kind enough to invite the Bahari'mtoto to their Mummer's Ball the last couple years, and the Bahari are returning the invitation! - Cubs, be careful! The tide is right there, so it's an ever-present danger! - Every time you post, roll a 100-sided die! The aim is to get as MUCH meat off the whale as possible by adding up to a specific total over the course of the RP! - The goal is to reach 2,000 points between all the rolls! When we hit 2,000, the meat is gone and it's time to let the bones bleach in the sun! If it takes too long to reach 2,000, the number will be dropped - You may only win one prize from this! We'll reroll until we get somebody else, regardless of how much the randomizer loves you (Yes, each post is a raffle ticket!) - Wait for somebody else to post before you post again! - Which speaking of, posts should be at least a paragraph each. If you're having trouble filling in a post, dive into your character's psyche a bit. It's always fun to do!
Can non-members enter? Yes! And if you have no SoA, you may RP as a baboon! There's a small population living in the forest on the Bahari lands right now, and they'll be enlisted near the end to help with the final clean-up of the meat! Nimble fingers and all!
Why mini-Meta? It was a bit short-notice, and I(Andranis) had been busy through August and September, and Epine's been busy due to RL, so it only really just got planned. It's rather 'mini' because this will span a whole 2 RPs that, hopefully, will be done in, at most, just as many months! Hopefully xD

She'd returned from the Kizingo'zaa and, indeed, as Athena had suspected... The dead thing was still there. It was a massive whale, truly impressive to behold, with its grey skin offset by a pale underbelly. Scarring could be seen on it, giant rings where something unknown had grabbed it. Using her claws to MAKE her own grips, she climbed on top of it, for it was larger by far than any lion present, even the ex-Firekin, and stood atop it. "Brothers and sisters of the Bahari'mtoto and the Kizingo'zaa that have joined me here today! This thing has sat on our sand for a bit too long! It's large, takes up space, and frankly this is the biggest damn piece of food I've ever seen! In particular... It has big bones, which we can use to fortify our dens against storms! So I ask you today, help remove the flesh from this skeleton, eat until you can eat no more! Today, we feast upon a gift from the gods of the sea!"

Kicheko had come back from the Kizi with a pep in her step. Meeting her neighbors - even though they'd been the ones to try to kidnap her - had been great! They were a riot to have a party with, that was for sure. But now she was home and had a little problem to deal with of her own. Or rather...a very, very large problem.
She stared up at the whale and Athena, nodding just a bit. They had to get rid of the whale! Not only would it begin to stink, but it would make the sea around their beaches rather dangerous with the sharks it would attract. It would surely bring in rouges and, while that wasn't a bad thing, too many could cause problems. Kicheko stepped forward at the word to begin work and bit the slightly rough skin of the whale. Oh...it had a very strange texture...
She pulled back and tried to hack a piece off with her claws, deciding that might be a better way to cut through the tough hide.
Hiss had followed a few of the neighbors home, curious to see what their lifestyle was all about. She loved the Gypsies though and wouldn't leave, but since there was a mutual understanding between the prides she figured she'd explore. Much to her surprise, there was a massive beast on the beach when she pushed through the foliage, unlike anything she had seen before. Her eyes widened in disbelief as the orders to clear away the meat were given, and her stomach rumbled loudly. Oh, good thing she was hungry!
She set on the beast with gusto, tearing at one of the strange flat legs. Huh...there wasn't much meat here. Oh well, there was a little bit and she knew every bit of food had to go. This counted too! Gnawing away happily, she looked around to see who else was coming to help.

Clea had seen the coming of the great sea behemoth in her visions, and had known of it's splendor far before the winter storms had dropped it on their shores. Regardless of what had killed it, it was there, never the less. The stout lioness couldn't help looking at it as she wandered closer. "A feast, huh?" Now that was some logic she could get behind!
She was a female, but not a delicate one, by any means. The lioness came with an apatite strong enough to bring this bounty down by herself! Seeing a few other lionesses around her, she hacked off as large of a piece as she could before ripping into it. The taste was...actually quite terrible, but Clea wasn't a picky eater. She hunched her small, sturdy frame over the meat and down it quickly so that she could blot the taste from her mind.
The only real thought she had was whether her mate would get down here to eat his fill, or whether she would have to drag some back to him before the day was through. Lazy a**.

Kicheko licked her lips, getting the salty taste off of them. She loved seafood as much as the next Bahari, but the salt had really been caked on to the beast from the constant high and low tides. She looked around to see that others in her pride had joined her, as well as someone she had seen at the Mummers Ball a few weeks prior.
"Get a load of this thing, huh? "she said to those gathered, grinning just a bit. 'I've never seen one up close before! I'm surprised how rough its skin is," she added, licking the beast again.
Hiss nibbled on the fin a bit more before deciding it was all skin and bone here. She moved to where the fin joined the body, though, and sunk her teeth in to a very thin layer of blubber and rich, delicious meat.
"Whoa," she said in awe before tearing a huge piece off to eat. The blubber itself didn't taste that good, but the meat beneath it was fantastic. She ate with gusto, lifting her head as she swallowed. "Hey, this meat is really good," she informed the others. "The squishy white stuff isn't but it's kind of creamy and nice in a...weird...way."

It seemed like a good idea, for the Head Alchemist to come to the little event that the Bahari had set up to share with them. He liked meeting the other water-based pride anyways - even if the noises still followed him. If anything, he knew one thing, as he wandered on to the beach.
That was a huge whale.
Clearing his throat, he watched as a couple other of the other members, wondering how he could help, before catching sight of a strange lioness coming over to the carcass . . .
Lilo'kai hadn't been to this kind of event - or well - any kind of event for a long time. The hermit lioness had sent her children out to do a bit of scouting while she wandered up to the large carcass, knowing that if she helped with the picking of the meat, they'd probably let the old Jana wander back with some of the food.
Turning to wander up to the carcass, she dug her claws in as well as she could, trying to strip some of the meat off, doing what she could for the pride.

Athena smiled as she watched the others, then turned around on the spot she stood. After a moment of contemplation, she walked down the length of the body, laying on its side, to one of the massive flippers and, laying down, began to gnaw on it. While rubbery, it WAS, in fact, rather tasty by her own judgement. Plus... Food was food. Why would they want to waste such a gorgeous bounty? Part of her wished the fish god would toss one up on the shore more often, if it meant eating this good!

Kicheko grinned as even more lions joined them. This whale was huge, but it was no match for two prides of hungry lions! The Mummers Ball had been lots of fun, but the effects of the party were still wearing off and the hunters had been slacking just a bit. Not that she blamed them! Everyone had been slacking off after all the fun. Now there was a gift from the sea gods and she was sure it was a sign of their approval.
She dug back into the whale, chewing on some of the blubber thoughtfully. It was so thick that it was kind of fun to gnaw on. It sort of bounced back into its shape. Huh...weird stuff!
Hiss pulled back from the whale as more lions joined, licking her maw and rubbing at her face with her paws. The whale wasn't very bloody like a fresh kill, but it was still rather oily, which was strange. She didn't want to smell like fish when all this was over! She cleaned herself up a bit before pressing on, but her fur was definitely rather gross now. Oh well...the sea gave them this meal and the sea would wash away the oil, too.
Thanks to the close proximity of the fin, her teeth scraped bone rather quickly. It was different from the bones she was used to chewing on, namely it was huge and full of tiny holes. Weird! But interesting at the same time.
