[[I need to get her new cert, otl.]]
It was good to be home. Homehomehome. Even if home was...a mountain now. The pale lioness stopped, frowning. Yeah...it was a mountain. Not the wet swamp she'd grown up in. But...what mattered wasn't the place, but the creatures. It was still the pride she'd grown up with. It still had Ninon and her parents and Odin and Mama Asali and...
Yeah. Yeah, it was still home.
Giggling, Ryuuko started singing lowly and dancing along a path she didn't know yet. "♫Oh it's good to be home again~.♫"Meepfur Sorry this took me a bit. Kind of was exhausted after work last night.

((Also needs a new cert. >> ))Samudranta hadn't asked to be Queen. To be entirely honest, she had no earthly idea why she, of all of her siblings - full and half - had been chosen. Her mother had been frustratingly vague as to her reasons once Sam had finally gotten up the courage to ask her, leaving the young lioness to wonder if there truly was a good reason. She wanted to think that there was, given that her mother was a seer, but doubt crept in the corners of Samudranta's usually lively, cheerful mind. To clear it, she decided to go for a walk, breathing deep of the morning air. It was a bright day, a beautiful day, and she should not fret so. Lending credence to what she told herself, a song drifted to her on the breeze. The splotchy female smiled and turned to follow the lovely sound, hoping to find its source. Das Tor No worries at all! I've been all over the place myself.

"♫I've been many places I've traveled 'round the land Always on the search for something new But what does it matter When all the paths I've crossed Always seem to lead back to you...♫"
Ryuuko was happy to dance as she sang, letting her paws take her where they wanted without her paying attention, letting her voice get louder. It was fun to sing, fun to dance, and it was a nice break from her duties as a huntress. And she really had been so many places, following her mates around and everything. It was kind of nice just...getting that out of her system. Getting rid of the last bits of wandering paws without actually leaving. Because now that she was home? She. Didn't want. To go. Anywhere. Period.

Samudranta moved with sure but eager steps, purple ears cast forward as she looked for the singer. Her singing made it easy to follow and find her, and Sam was delighted with what she found. Not only was she singing she was dancing! And clearly enjoying it all quite thoroughly. Loathe to interrupt her joyous moment, the Queen stood and watched, quiet and appreciative. ...but also feeling a bit guilty for snooping on the other lioness. Should she stay and wait until she had finished, announce herself, or simply leave her to enjoy herself in peace?

She was unaware of her audience, continuing on with the song and dance.
"♫Old familiar faces Everyone you meet Followi-♫"
She stopped when she turned, eyed open, and spotted Samudranta. She was mid-dance step, a paw in the air and mouth still open. Ryuuko squeaked and closed her mouth, putting her paw down and looking sheepish. "Ah...hi. Hope I wasn't bothering you." Had she been so loud?

Well, evidently her indecision had made up her mind for her. Whoops. Oh well! She did feel a little bad, but...but she was still excited for the chance to get to know this lioness better! Unfortunately, unlike her mother, she was pretty rubbish with names. How Khara seemed to always remember everyone's, she had never been able to figure out. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you." Samudranta looked a bit sheepish herself, but quickly smiled. "You weren't bothering me at all, far from it! I was rather enjoying it, actually."

"No, it's okay! I was just trying to get the last of the wandering out of my paws. They seem to like wandering, but I like just being home." The pale lioness shifted her weight from side to side, trying to wrack her mind for a name. And...well, she couldn't really find one. "I'm Ryuuko. I came home recently with my mates."

"That sounds familiar. I still miss it sometimes, being somewhere else. Not that I'd actually rather be somewhere else!" she was quick to amend, wary of sounding as though she didn't like being home. She did! But she missed the freedom, and the sea. Especially the sea. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ryuuko! I'm Samudranta, but you can just call me Sam."

"Maybe it's something all of us go through? A period where we're so used to wandering that it's hard to settle back down at home?" Maybe that was part of why some Pilgrims never returned...they just...kept wandering. Kept seeking that which wasn't inside the pride. For her?
Well, she'd found what she was looking for and thensome. She was all adventured out. Especially after the war in the Ardhi.
"It's nice to meet you, Sam!" The name sounded somewhat familiar...oh! "Oh! You're the new Queen?"

"I suppose that must be part of it. I saw so much, but I can't help but think of all the things I didn't see. It was tempting to just...keep exploring, keep experiencing the world." Samudranta sighed wistfully. "But I missed my family. Staying away wouldn't have felt right." "Yeah, that would be me," she admitted with a wry grin.

Ryuuko nodded cheerfully. "Yes! I think one of the main reasons I didn't was..." She frowned. "The pride one of my mates came from had a war. I...that was more than enough for me. And I hope we never see one here." War was a horrible, terrible thing and she liked her nice, peaceful home.
She bowed slightly, then gave Sam a grin. "I hope your reign is long and peaceful, Sam. And prosperous." From what she'd heard, the poor pride needed it. Especially after the fires that had ravaged the swamps they'd once dwelled in.

"A war?" Samudranta's eyes widened at the other lioness's words. "How awful! I can't imagine such a thing would happen here." The only violence they had seen had been years ago, and the work of a lone lion. It didn't seem plausible that war could visit the peaceful pride. "Thank you. I hope so, too. We've had more than enough...excitement." Before she could say more, the Queen turned her head, ears flicking forward at the sound of a distant voice calling her name, and sighed. "And that would be my aunt. So much for running away." Sam gave a small smile. "It was a pleasure speaking with you, Ryuuko...and hearing your song. I hope we can speak at greater length sometime."

Her white-and-golden head nodded. "A war. It was awful, and I'm glad it's over and Odin and Sebesebe and I are far, far from it." She wriggled her nose in distaste. "We all really have had our fill of excitement. Well...except maybe the cubs, but they'll get their fill of that when they go on their Name Quests."
The distant voice caught her attention as well and Sam's voice brought her from her wandering thought of 'who was that?'. "Ah! Well, hope it's nothing too bad she's calling about. I hope to speak with you again as well! Maybe I'll even finish the song!" It was a fun song that had been coming out. "Spirits be with you, Sam."
