Humming a lighthearted song of something Z couldn't understand, his partner woke up early and was bouncing around like a bunny. Looking into the mirror, he could see the smiley girl combing her hair into a ponytail not-so-ponytail, it looked like a bun but not a neat one. "Done! What do you think, Z?" The girl turned around in front of the mirror. < I don't get it.> The beast honestly replied, < Is that supposed to be a ponytail? Whatever, I never understand girl's hairstyles.> "Moo, it's a stylish free style messy bun! Don't you think I look more energetic and genki with it?" "Japanese, equivalent to energetic!" <......>
"How about my outfit? Do you think it's lovely?" She opened her arms wide and turned around. <.....I don't get it either, why you are dressing a sweater-like top that exposed your back when it's autumn, and the shorts. you will get a cold, silly. I won't take care of you.> Shu pouted, pouted really like a duck, grumbled, "You really really don't know girls, Z! It's a happy time, and I want to be cute!" Shu crossed her arms over the chest, well, what Elio would comment too flat to see any up and down. "I don't need your opinion, it's a waste of time." She bent down to tie the laces of her short boots, checking herself in the mirror before taking a picture, smiling.

Roland was dressed running his fingers through his hair pulling it back into a short ponytail, his hair was growing longer still and he'd been on the island far too long without a haircut. His fingers kept twisting and pulling as his phone started to buzz. Once it was put up he reached over to the device flipping to the new message smiling softly.
Grabbing a spare scarf, one that wasn't designed for his uniform, twining it around his neck moving towards the door.Quote: Text To Shu:I'm ready when you are, we going bear hunting yeah?

His room wasn't far away, though it took a bit of a walking. When she peeked in, a figure was standing with his back, seemed to be looking at his phone. An impish smile appeared on Shu's face and she sneakily got closer him - with a distance of one footstep, she first patted on Roland's shoulder and then when he turned around, she jumped in front of him all of a sudden and said loudly: " TRICK OR TREAT!" Shu, as an Asian, didn't have a chance to do so in her childhood, thus when there was such a precious chance, she won't miss it. "Hello Roland, I wanna do it a long time ago, can I have my candies?" The petite girl grinned brightly with a hand reached out, even she wasn't the age of a kid anymore.

Roland did indeed check his phone again wondering why she wasn't there yet, usually he could hear her shouting out his name before he saw her so the tap on the shoulder caught him off guard; especially when she shouted trick or treat at him.
"AKDjshksdjf! Shu!" He blinked a few times looking at her hand held out glancing around his room before reaching over to a bowl on his desk full of kitkat bars before putting two in her open palm.
"We'll get you a big bag while we're out just for you," he said before pausing, "You look... adorable today!" His face split into a grin as he started towards the door, "You ready to go?"

Shu was giggling with her shoulder moved up and down as soon as Roland squealed. "Oh....thank you!" The girl made a long sound like can be converted into: I didn't think you will have candies and I think I might play a trick on me. Apparently, what Roland said reflected that the hunter was of no awareness of the hidden message, but who didn't love free candies? "Hooray~!" She clapped her hands and hopped in delight, and his compliment made her stopped. "Thanks! So glad that someone knows how to appreciate my effort. I am all ready!" The petite girl dropped her arms straight and patted on her thighs. "Isn't your bangs a bit long?" She tiptoed and reached out her hands but there was a short distance between Roland's bang and her fingers, she was wearing a low heeled boots that day. Shu huffed and pouted, gave up on touching his hair, she stomped off Roland's room. It wasn't her fault that she was that short, it's - it's just they were too tall, the petite girl convinced herself. The bag bounced with her jumpy movement.

Adjusting his bag and scarf after the scare he smiled again patting her shoulder as she took his compliment. For a moment he paused reaching up to his own bangs to tug one out of his eyes tilting his head as she tried to stand up taller to inspect it.
"Well why wouldn't someone notice when you aren't wearing your jacket?" Suddenly she was sprinting away huffing as she went. "S-Shu! Wait!" He sprinted after her, his own bag flailing against his side as he hurried after her scooping her up from behind in a hug. "No pouting! It's a holiday and we're going to get Candy and a big stuffed bear for you!"
Still holding her up he swung her about side to side a bit, arms tucked under her own and wrapped just under her chest as he carried her along a bit.

The answer for Roland's question came later as Shu vomited the word one-by-one, teeth gritted. "Because. he. is. stupid -" The call made her halted and soon she squeaked for what he did. "I didn't! Just - just - Alright, it sounds unwise to ruin the holiday like that....." The girl that was scooped up like a domestic pet, maybe cat, bunny or fox inhaled a large mass of air and relaxed as she breathed out. Amused by the way he carried her, Shu giggled and asked playfully, "I am not heavy? Where are we going? Don't think you can sell me to someone else?" The chuckles suggested that she was just joking as well as the cheerful grin.

"Well. I'm. Not. Stupid!" Each word came out with a little hug and shake bouncing Shu along as they walked. Moving along he nodded as she finally agreed that it was not a good idea to ruin the holiday. "Good girl! No ruining a holiday! We gota enjoy this right?"
Carrying her was easy, she was tiny, compact even smaller then Peyton. "Nope. Sylvia makes me stronger and lets me carry more easily. So because your tiny and I'm stronger I can pick you up." He gave her another squeeze resting his chin atop her head and lose bun. "Not gona sell ya. Why would I do that? We're shopping for you anyway!" They where getting closer to the portals as he swayed side to side while carrying the smaller hunter.
"So. What color bear do you want?"

"Robert can pick me up easily also, and piggyback! It's fun!" Shu didn't mind the weight added on her head, it wasn't something she can't bear. "Yes, we should make good use of our leaves, candies and bear we are coming~" It was a good thing they can leave the island from time to time, there were too many things to bother with lately. "I haven't thought about that.......as long as it's soft and fluffy? Oh wait-" The girl paused the hunter, patted his arm to drop her. The girl ran towards those on-duty at the portal, and gave each of them a candy from her bag. "Happy Halloween, hope you have a nice day!" Shu trotted back to Roland, slightly panting. "I carry some candies with me in cases I see people doing trick or treat, candies in the candy house. I even have a cute ghost necklace to match with it. Ok, let's go!" She put down the necklace she held between two fingers, the sound of the button being pressed back to its position can be heard, necklaces clinking against each other as she took Roland's hand to swing side by side, beaming with a smile.

"I think Robert could pick anyone up easily, even without a Weapon. Guy's huge." Onward they went, Roland carrying Shu under the arms almost like she was a stuffed animal as they went. "Well I mean soft and fluffy is a given of course," he said as he placed Shu down on the ground and gave her a quick pat on the shoulder.
Even while she ran ahead Roland kept walking, hands stuffed in his pockets smiling softly as she dolled out candy and wished the guards a happy Halloween. It always struck him as odd they still celebrated this day on the island even though they fought the very creatures they often dressed up as on this night. "Usually people come up to houses to do the trick or treat, but giving out Candy to people in costumes is usually okay too" he paused, "Except I dun know, some parents might get upset if you give their kids some?" He finally shrugged his shoulder dismissing the thought before smiling at her necklace and twining his hand with hers. "Let's see.... how about....Washington D.C. but let's go more in Virginia... they have a metro system and buses we can take places. There should be a portal near Andrews Airforce we can take..." Finally settling on the location he gave Shu's hand a squeeze before hopping through the portal and out into an alley way that stood in the shadow of a tall apartment building on a sloping hill.

"Probably not the Death Lead or his own Lead." It was fun to rebut Roland a bit, harmless way. She definitely not a stuffed bunny, but even she knew what he might be thinking, she may just laugh. "Tooth decay? Children might not have the self-control over candies." First was a quite familiar name that she could hear from news, then her mind was like millions of tangled threads, filled with foreign names. Shu rubbed her temples for the mild temporary headache hitting her. "You lead the way, I feel like I will get lost if not holding your hand, where are we now?" She was a bit worried, looking up and down, it was different from the grocery trip they went with Evan. Shu squished Roland's hand without notice, putting a candy into her mouth. Sweet things gave her energy and internal calmness, that was why she always carried some treats with her. What if she get separated from Roland? Using the pendant to get back will be so embarrassing. The thought upset her, she needed to go out more, to familiarize herself with the foreign countries.

"Well, no one would do that, I think Caelius and H would cut you in two before the thought could finish crossing your mind at trying to pick them up like that!" He gave a little laugh as they sorted themselves out on the other side of the portal. Roland had tugged out his phone and was checking a map nodding his head quetly as Shu spoke. "More like they don't want their kids having candy before dinner really." A few more clicks on his phone and he nodded.
"We're in Arlington Virginia, it's right outside DC, we can get to Maryland, Virginia, or the capitol. There's a metro train and buses we can take to go places too," he added as he tucked his phone away fishing through his bag passing Shu a DC metro card and taking one for himself.
"The trains three blocks from here, just up the street and a right. We can take the train to the mall and we can go shopping there." Squeezing her hand back Roland started up the hill towards the train's location making sure to let Shu keep up.
"You've never been to the US before?"

"I thought kids went out after dinner? - When do you usually have dinner? I have it at normally between 5 to 7." It might be a culture thing then, something interesting in her discovery. Sorry Roland, Shu didn't pay attention on geography lessons, mostly she was doodling in textbooks or dozed off behind the textbook. "Metro train? Is it like our Mass Transit Railway?" She took the card, and stared at it, flipping it like a new toy. It was thin like her single trip ticket, besides, they had a thicker type with computer chip. "Hmm, probably no. If that grocery trip and external mission didn't count, then the answer is nope. It doesn't look like the place I live, but somehow they have some resemblance. Like the underground railway and supermarkets, we have that too, but the one here are much bigger in size. I think I need some times to get used to all of these. Like the method of paying, if we pay through credit card or debit card, then only one pay and then the rest give that person money back later. But here, even with card, we pay separately, it's a bit weird. We don't have naughty kids throwing milk either, you can be arrested by the police....." The more she said, the deeper her frown was, everything was so new to this petite Asian girl.

"Well yeah, but some like to run around all day in costume, and stuff like that. For us dinner was usually like 6ish depending on if everyone was home. Sometimes you would just sorta fend for yourself because you never really knew what the plan was." It was okay that Shu didn't know, not everyone was from the US, let a lone a city hub before coming to the Island. "Yeah, the DC Metro is a mass transit railway I guess." He flipped the card over, it was plastic, almost the shape and size of a debit card like she thought of.
"All we do is swipe these cards to go in and out of the metro, they should have plenty of money on them for us to take a day trip, and they aren't linked to like names or anything. We have a bunch of spare ones you can take when you leave the island to these areas." Walking along they passed through a parking lot, behind them tall buildings of a police station and office buildings, more offices ahead, a lone little elevator and a flight of stairs leading down into the metro just ahead.
"There's all kinds of places in the states, I used to live by a beach at one point in Florida. Then I moved to Massachusetts, that was a city like this, but a lot colder." Still hand in hand he lead her down the stairs into the metro tunnel swiping his card and waiting for her to follow suite to get through the turn style.
"Don't worry about paying today. I've got a lot of money saved up, I really don't go off island all that much so I don't buy a lot of things..." He paused, "Think of it as an early Christmas present?"

Shu was amused by what Roland said, in her mind drew little people colored by crayons like the style used in children's fairy tale story book. Kids dressed up with smiley faces ran on a road, the houses on two sides fully decorated with pumpkin lights and Halloween accessories. The mirthful and warm illusions made her smile. "Ah, that's the same! It's exactly how we use the one we have with value stored." It was glad to find out common point, it gave her more security. The petite girl looked around like a tourist, couldn't help giggling to imagine Roland showing off his metro cards like one of the characters she saw in anime. "Ah, you moved a few times? I have never moved, staying at the same place until I went to the island...." The big round amber eyes became smaller as she was swallowed by the past memories - the small (but big in her eyes) city she lived, her family and the noises she used to hear. It was not until she felt the plunge and noticed they were going downstairs, she held the card close to the detector to catch up the taller one. "There's still one month left, Roland but thanks and early merry christmas!" Following the naughty grin, he got a quick tip-toe cheek peck. "You don't like leaves? Are you saving up for something? Ah, I wanna ask if you can put this card in your bag for the detector to sense it?" Her mind always had thoughts jumping in another space even though she was holding hands with Roland in the metro. "How many stations from our destination?" It jumped again but at least with smile.
