Little stone paths lead through a good sized garden, though not full of beautiful plants or trees. The main attration of this garden are it's two ponds, both large in size and connected. The best place to view the calming scene is the large wooden bridge which arches over the upper pond, giving the occupant a lovely view of the lower pond. Submerged in the lower pond are two large stones, which represent a toroise and a cran, symbolic of long life and good health.

Noriko moved with ease along the path that lead up to the two large ponds, his slender arms were folded into the sleeves of his lime green kimono. Emerald gaze was slightly lidded, he was feeling very moody this morning, perhaps that is why he'd snuck away from the Gehaka his care taker had provied him with today. It was a very foolish, childish thing to do, sneaking away from one's protector. But Noriko had found he'd just wanted to come to these ponds, and not with that clumsy oaf of a Gehaka. That Gehaka wouldn't appreciate it's quiet beauty.
A little sigh slipped past the young man's lips, one deligate hand slipping from his sleeve to push pale locks out of his face and up behind one of his large ears. The slightest smile perked on his lips as he approached the bridge, clear of any other Haka taking a stroll with their protectors. He was happy about this, it was very lucky indeed. Come to think of it this garden had been rather empty lately, perhaps it was losing it's charm? Noriko didn't think so.
He continued to walk until he was almost to the center of the bridge, that was when he turned and let his pale hands rest on guard side. He took a deep breath, thoughts flittering away as he peered at the calm surface of the waters. "Such a beautiful sight... so often is it wasted on the morons passing through." He murmered, soley to himself.

Makoto always was a gentle soul, not like a lot of the oaf-like Gahaka that disgraced this area. Don't get him wrong, he could stand up for whomever if the circumstances were that of dire need. But at heart, he was a kind soul, with love of all things. The fact that he was born to be a Gahaka did not change that, but his bulk and duties were burried beneath his own love of everything in the natural world.
From his clasp of long hair wavered a few stray pieces of white, the delicate tones of whisping clouds, befitting only this one. As he moved slowly over the bridge, however, with bared chest and gleaming flesh, he only barely did notice the other before he was right upon him. The words from those delicate lips were enough to make him smile, enough to draw out his own response.
"Isn't it, though?" came a whisper that rather carried over the winds, and as he neared the rather beautiful Haka, he bowed his head gently to him in greeting. He would leave if the man asked him to, but he couldn't think he'd turn away another gentle soul - not after the comment of oafs and morons.

His eyes widened a little and with a look of fright his face jerked toward the stranger that had come upon him so silently. He was then facing a bare chest, and as he tilted his head up his gaze freely roamed the Gehaka. Mostly his emerald gaze lingered on the other's hair, such a pretty color. Like the snow that softly drifted from the skies during winter. After a moment, feeling no threat from the being that had socially been under him since the moment Noriko had taken his first breath in this world.
"It's rude to engage one of higher status in conversation.... with out at least giving your name first." He murmered, his tone that of a bored creature. His mother had seemed to school him well in matters, he knew it wasn't so strict today as it had been in the past, but it didn't change that it still was strict, and techniqually the gehaka shouldn't have spoken to Noriko. The young man tapped at his lip a moment, a sign he was thinking. But he did speak first, even if he hadn't intended any other's ears to hear this.
Though turned away from the other and acting as if the creatures very existance bored him he did not ask him to leave, which was a goot sign. Especially when Noriko was in one of these angsty, lonely moods. Besides, it was easy enough to watch the stronger creater from the corner of his eyes.
He would wait for this one's response, which should be his name. If he was any smart, anyhow. Some gehaka needed to be punished daily because somewhere in their minds they thought it alright to be smart-asses, and Noriko would not have that. Even if he was a little lenient where others his age were not. He didn't understand why those his age were just so strict, they were soon to be face with marrige and all of that... he thought perhaps it had to do with losing face, or whatever others though about losing. Pride, maybe?

Despite the fact that he had just had his head bit off by a pretty little Haka, he couldn't help the little smile that spread over his lips. Despite the fact that he knew the rules, the formalities of it all, he couldn't help but forget a lot of the time. He was a kind thing, as mentioned before, and he often forgot that their were others that would not bother to think of how good a person he was. Still, as this one hadn't ordered him away or marched off himself - he did take it as a fairly good sign.
"Excuse me then," he muttered in that slow droning, yet distrubingly charming voice - a voice that literally said he was much better than your average little Gahaka, "my name is Makoto Haru." As he spoke, he bowed, deeply, those whisps of fine hair once again making their way from his silver clasp and covering his deep, placid gray eyes.
He rose once more to his full height, a tall Gahaka despite his gentle nature. Everything about him was gentle and kind, beautiful even. If there was ever a Haka looking for your above average oaf, then pretty Makoto was the ticket. You couldn't find a better educated, kinder, thing if you looked. Though, by all respects, he was actually pretty humble.
"And, if it's not too rude to ask of you," he breathed, arms crossed gently over a broad chest, "might I know your own title?"

He drummped his fingures on the rail a moment, though quickly he stored away the man's name. "And what is it that you do, Makoto Haru?" Why Noriko was using his full name was a mystory, though Haka usually had their reasons. He completely ignored the other's request for Noriko to reveal his name, at least, for now he had.
He turned again, walking over to the other side of the bridge, hips swaying slightly as he leaned over it, peering into the water, trying to spot some fish. The koi were always a lovely sight, but in a pond this big (two, rather) it was often hard to spot them in groups. Unless one was lucky, of course. "And what is it that brought you here Makoto Haru?" He glanced over his shoulder, lids lowered as his eyes once again traced the Gehaka's body. They lingered on the other's wrists a moment, taking note that no other haka had snatched him up yet.
It was too bad Noriko wasn't that impulsive, wasn't it? "I am Noriko Sato." He stated finally, turning himself to lean his back against the rail and look up to the sky.

He simply quirked a brow at all the questions from the pretty thing, slowly turning and crossing his arms over the bars of the old bridge, leaning his weight on it with his wings flexing behind him somewhat. His eyes glazed over, staring out at the lake, off into the horizon of the pretty gardens. "I repair things," he breathed, "houses mostly. Thatch roofs, patch up walls," he shrugged slowly, "it's easier that way, I can work and do things on my own without a hundred other Gahaka around."
He shrugged slowly, causing a soft lift of his great draconian wings, he didn't really mind answering the other's questions - not as long as he asked them the way he was instead of yelling and screaming at him. There were a lot of Haka like that, irritating and unkind, but he had to remember they were above him. Thank god for this one. "I'm here because I like the scenery, because it's beautiful. Too many take it for granted," he breathed, "I'm sure it's a relief for someone just to appreciate it for the sake of it's beauty."
Though, as he was being examined, he noticed that the Haka paid rather close attention to his wrists. He was a free one, right now, perhaps because he was too kind and calm spirited for alot of them - after all, they didn't think they could put him up against another in a fight. Still, all that was burried deep down, and in some ways - he was glad a Haka hadn't taken the time to see it yet. "It's nice to meet you, Noriko Sato."

A carpentor? That might come in handy, thinking about it. Certainly would make life a little easier. His gaze flickered over the clouds, thoughts deligately sliding into place, mind trying to make itself up. How often did one come upon a free Gehaka that appreciated the beauty of nature, was beautiful himself and was useful? But there had to be some kind of fault, somewhere.
Come to think of it, this Gehaka seemed to be quite the sissy. Noriko's lips perked upward at the thought, the man was cheering him up and he wasn't even aware of it. Though this man had just been met, nothing could be as it seemed. Perhaps this was even a ploy to catch his attnetion, or any other Haka Makoto came upon, right? He calmed his calculating thoughts and looked back to the other. "Take me to get tea." He ordered, his voice less bored now but changing to light and ary, almost as if he didn't care too much.
Yes, he would test this one.

The Haka certainly had every right to be suspicious, they all were over a rather kind Gehaka. Though, the simple reason for not having been snatched up already: they never took the time to find out if he could actually do well in protecting them. He could, of course, he was trained as well as any other, he just didn't see the point in walking around stiff legged like some bafoon. Those sorts of Gehaka one might expect to make grunting noises and speak in half coherent sentances. Though steriotypes existed, and generally most Gehaka were less intelligent and most things were true about the great portion of their kind, this one was rare. Though he may not have been taught all the important things of a well educated Haka, he knew math to a great degree - as he needed it for all his different skills of carpentry. His mind could think past points where maybe others of his sort and background couldn't.
At his words, however, the pretty thing snapped out of whatever trance he happened to be in. The soft gray eyes of the Gehaka sparked with something, be it curiosity or amusement was beyond an onlooker's knowledge, but it was certainly a sign of life regardless. With a little nod of his head, taking a moment to sweep back those whispy defiant hairs that refused to be tamed, he turned his body half to the direction he had come. He knew of a pretty little tea house, indeed, where the geisha were more respectful and dignified - if you knew what he meant. With one outstretched arm he smiled, head bowed slightly, "walk this way, Master Sato."
He would walk almost to his side, so that he could lead the pretty Haka - but he would still be behind, as was custom, and the easiest point to watch the man. After all, you could see to three directions - and you should be standing closest to the one you couldn't. If he was the only Gehaka with Noriko, he was his responsibility. He knew that. Just as soon as Noriko went ahead of course, a rather stern and concentrated expression flew over his features - no longer the time for being calm and at ease - he had a job to do.

Noriko walked about two steps in front of the other, small steps and at a fast pace so that he looked as if he was gliding along. His arms were folded in his sleeves, crossed at the point between his waist and his chest. "Now I'm not one to like silences when I walk a place.. Well, unless I'm alone." Obviously, he shouldn't even be explaining this to the gehaka. "So.. entertain me." Yes, testing the gehaka was a very important to do, and if the oaf couldn't tell a simple story... well, who would want a gehaka like that then? Noriko loathed being bored.
His eyes rarely strayed from the path they were walking, except when they were passing a store that sold accessories or jewlery, he liked shiney things quite a lot. Though he thought about it and most haka also liked these sorts of things, which irked him just a little. "And how far is it to this tea house?" He couldn't be walking all day, after all.

Another Haka entered the garden, pausing at the entrance to take in the scene. He turned to the Gehaka behind him, holding out his hands demandingly. Into those upturned hands was deposited a brush, a pot of ink and a scroll of parchment. Then he glared at the Gehaka. "Go away now, Shinji." He reached into a purse slung delicately over his shoulder and fingered a few silver coins, taking them out and holding them out to his older brother. "Go buy yourself something."
"Reizo..."
"Go." Reizo glared at him. He was above slipping away, but bullying his older brother...that he did just fine. "I will be just fine for an hour or so." Reizo insisted. "Go, or I'll tell Mother and Father that you disobeyed me!" Stuck between a rock and a hard place, it seemed, for if their parents found out that Shinji had left Reizo without a bodyguard, he would get in trouble, and he would get in trouble if he didn't leave his brother now...
"...Yes, Reizo." The brown-haired Gehaka turned away dejectedly.
In turn, Reizo turned and headed into the garden, eyes softening as he surveyed the scene, eyes searching for an appropriate spot to paint from.

A pale Gehaka was off in a secluded section of the garden, not far from the new coming Haka. He was surrounded by a hedge and flowers and a small pond with baby koi. The Gehaka was laying on the grass peacefully, a dazed and sleepy expression on his handsome face. His hair looked like it was strewn about messily but he had actually brushed it out that day.
His wings were outspread, leaving little room in the small secret spot in the garden. He turned his head to the side, blinking at a small orchid that was staring him in the face. He smiled and leaned into it, sniffing, before nestling his hands under his head and arching his back in a stretch. The only thing intterupting the peaceful scene was a large gash on his stomach, bandaged poorly and just slightly starting to drip. The Gehaka didn't notice his training wound was leaking once again and heaved a sigh peacefully, twitching an ear at the weak twinge of pain on his stomach.

Noriko listened intently to the tale, all the while keeping the bored look about his face. Twice it slipped, once when the gehaka brought up the princess (he looked puzzled) and once when the moon god seemed to have died, for good. He looked rather troubled by that, so easy could a life end. Even for a god, sometimes. He tapped his lips throughfully, mulling over the tale.
"That was a lovely story, thank you." He finally murmered, and he really did mean it. He was never told very many stories by his mother's gehaka, or even by his mother. It was quite a shame, now that he thought about it. Look at all of the fantastic things he could miss being entertained by! "Do you know many stories like this?"
He paused at the doorway of the teahouse, almost missing the sign altogether. But when he glimpsed it from the corner of his eye he turned fully that way, peerring up at it. He watched Makoto for a moment, and a slow smile slipped over the petite Haka's lips. He had never known about this tea house, which was strange since the garden was so close to it.
With out a word he moved inside, slipping off his zori and waiting to be directed to a room where he and his chaprone could drink tea. Her studied the inside of the teahouse slowly, taking in every detail.

Reizo cocked his head to one side, breathing in the the air and closing his eyes. He was by no means alone - right in front of the entrance to the garden - but he was beginning to relax, to let down his many guards and walls. They would only impede him if he was to actually paint.
After a few moments, the Haka began to drift to one side, continuing to look for a good place to sit down and focus on his art. For this reason, he was searching for a properly secluded spot. Somewhere where he could be himself completely.
It was after a few moments that he came across Enju, stopping short, ears twitching and flicking. It made...quite the interesting composition, this pretty Gehaka with a wound, lying in such peace. After a few more seconds, Reizo realized that he was actually a little anxious. Gehaka often resented Haka, for good reason. He was here without any protection. The auburn-haired man glanced over his shoulder, but he was well away from the gate that formed the garden's entrance, and very secluded. Silently, he moved over to a bench conviently placed, drawing out a small board from his purse, settling his supplies down near him.
