Illuminatus looked down from the sky, his wings out gliding through the air. His green eyes took in the sight of the leaf bare season. The trees had all changed coloring making it one of his favorite times of year to go flying. And soon one of the larger herd holidays would be upon them. His long mane was pulled behind him as he flew. He was on his way home from a job of escorting a foal to its grandparents. The foal was rather sweet and he had to give it some flying tips but overall it was a job well done. The foal chatted away while the stallion led the way, foals certainly could talk a lot.

As he took in the sights below him, Illumi kept an eye out for anyone that looked like they were in of assistance. The sun at his back warmed his pelt and he swooped down to get a closer look at the paths below. His lantern grasped in his mouth, the tops of the trees just under his hooves. He was in charge of the sky paths, since his father wasn’t able to fly. It was a duty he took seriously. He had a better advantage up here. He was able to see father and more and others were able to see him better too.

He slowed himself down with a flap of his wings as he went forward keeping himself paced so that he was able to keep track of what he was viewing.

A group of fallen leaves made for a grand time. The crunching sound they gave when attacked was one of the most comforting sounds in the world, and the mare couldn't pass up the opportunity to hear it, so whenever she saw a group of fallen leaves, she stomped atop of them until no more crunching could take place. She laughed, it may have seemed childish to some, but to her it was just another thing to keep her in good spirits. The changing weather would be her first official experience with cold, and her father had told her stories about how brutal it could be - and well, you could say it wasn't exactly something the young mare was looking forward to.

Warmth, sunlight and beautiful ever-changing colors were things that Daisy Darling held dear to her within her heart. To lose those to a vast, and nasty cold winter would be utterly heartbreaking.

So she wasn't going to let it ruin her spirits! She was a happy young mare and that was that - right? She giggled softly to herself, as the music of 'crunch, crunch' played loudly beneath her hooves. Today she was to spend the majority of her day alone, without her father or either of her brothers in sight, and so Daisy thought she'd make the most of her time alone. It was unusual, to have this much time to herself, and it was quite unnerving. Not that she didn't mind the solitude, but she was still very young, and so spending an entire day without the comfort of loved ones made it a little strange. But they all, they claimed, had business and things to attend to and so Daisy agreed to give them their space. Reluctantly, she supposed, but it did indeed happen.

So like a foal, her best form of entertainment was squashing the leaves as they fell from their respective trees. Soon the whole forest would be bare, the cold air crisp, and a white blanket would cover the lands. Soon she'd have to find another form of entertainment, whatever that may be. She smiled again to herself, thinking of the possibilities as they came to her. New experiences were never dismissed, and the mare would be ready for anything.

But for now she'd have her fun with what she had. Another laugh escaped her, this time more boisterous and flamboyant than the first. It rang so loud that neighboring birds flew from their resting spots and out into the open air, chirping in either happy agreement or disturbance - she couldn't tell! Daisy smiled at the sound they made as their wings flapped through the sky, almost a bit jealous that they could have the freedom that she longed for.

Her father said it would be impossible to fly with wings so small - but one day, maybe one day she'd find a way to do something about that.

"Come back!" She sang to the birds as they seemed to fly further and further away from her - she wasn't done!

No worries!

As the young stallion flew forward he started to see the horses that resided in the area. He even knew some of them and he gave them friendly nods as he went about his business. The was warming his back and honestly was almost tempted to stop for a rest but he wasn’t that kind of stallion. He did he duties and right now he still on duty. The sounds of the forest below were lost on his ears for the most part. He really only heard the wind rushing past him but he could hear the bird that were being disturbed. Actually, those disturbed birds were really close. So close in fact that as they took flight they flew right into him. Illuminatus, not wanting to hurt the birds, knowing how fragile they were had to withdraw his wings to avoid accidently swatting one!

This caused him to drop and his hooves and quickly following his legs and torso where engulfed by the trees that were partially leaf bare. He threw open his wings to help ease his un graceful fall to the ground and he grunted as he hit the ground heavily. He didn’t realize the mare was there for a few moments as he checked his wings and then legs to make sure he wasn’t injured. He had placed his lantern down and pulled a couple twigs from his ruffled feathers. But he was unharmed. Just a little thrown off his game to so speak from the unexpected bird encounter.

With a shake of his head he looked up and for the first time saw the mare that was there. “Are you the one that set off those birds?” He asked, eying her and trying not to sound to accusing in his statement though he was holding back the annoyance he felt over this whole thing. He knew that truthfully anything or anyone could have spooked the birds. It happened, they were easily spookable. So he knew that if he showed annoyance, it would be shame on him.

But the more that he took in the mare he noticed that annoyance was starting to ebb away on its own now. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to sound cross asking that.” He chimed in and gave her a reassuring smile. She seemed gentle and he should be rough lest he scare her off, then where would he be? He gave his body a shake and tucked his wings in against his side and relaxed himself to speak with this mare. A gentle breeze came through and tugged some other leaves from their trees and the cascade of colors felt softly to the ground, giving his once sun warmed pelt a bit of a chill.
